Pros: We loved everything. Ken & Michelle provided an extremely warm and friendly welcome and on learning of our particular requirement, offered and provided a service that went above and beyond any expectations. The combination of a more than just comfortable bed and the rural location provided a peaceful and tranquil nights sleep. And 'wow' the breakfast, (all locally sourced) so much choice and was hearty and delicous . Nothing was too much trouble and we felt extremely welcomed and valued by this lovely couple.

The rooms had; dressing gowns, slippers, smart TV, DVD player, tea and coffee, biscuits and sweets, a fudge, really comfy bed and a huge en-suite bathroom with a massive shower. Outside there is loads of parking, a play area for kids, goats, donkey, horses all of which our four year old loved. Pros: The room was perfect with a lovely view over the river. The shower was one of the best we’ve ever experienced. The bathroom was next door to the room so not en suite but wasn’t a problem at all. The bed was ridiculously comfy and Jane the host was great!
Cons: We were cycling on the c2c route and the food options are quite limited in Stanhope and mainly takeaway options. We ordered a takeaway Indian (one of the best we’ve ever had) and sat on a bench by the river and ate under a head torch. It was unusual but ace! The rain stayed away otherwise we may have been stuck. If you have a car you’d be fine because you can travel further and to other villages.

Pros: We stayed for one night for a wedding, the property was very near the venue, Jane contacted us beforehand to check when we would be arriving and advising us of restaurants and places to eat in the are even offered to book us in if needed. As there were only three couples (all family ) staying that night she met us early and gave us keys and the run of the house. Next morning she greeted us with a lovely breakfast, very nice easy going lady. The rooms were lovely and clean and the bed very comfortable my husband did bash his head a few times though as we were on the top floor with a sloping roof. Overall its a lovely place to stay.

Pros: Very, very helpful and friendly staff and the meals were top class and full of flavour. A skill a lot of 'chefs' lack. I Really can't stress how good the meals were. Wine and drinks selection was again, top class. Good selection at breakfast if you're not full from your evening meal.
Cons: The open plan bathroom and limited lighting in the 'Pine' room plus the long winded route to get there. If you need to shave, take a torch. Coffee was not to our liking as it was a bit bitter. Not your italian standard.

Pros: Super comfy bed. Excellent food. Dinner was delicious with steak cooked to perfection. Breakfast was the best I’ve had in any hotel. Perfectly boiled eggs, tasted great and presented beautifully. The leisure facilities were very good. Warm pool and very clean changing area. The hot tub had great views of the grounds and surrounding countryside. The room was small but had everything we needed and was tastefully decorated. Very impressed and exceeded the expectations I had from the website.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Stunning Location. Great Restaurant, there was a wedding going on which made the lobby/bar area very, very crowded at times. (this really should be kept completely separate). Breakfast is Very Good, Staff are AMAZING.
Cons: REALLY NO NEED FOR SO MUCH FURNITURE IN THE ROOMS I've got bruises on my knees!! We were here for the Great North Run and again the Wedding was loud until quite late, another problem with it being in the main Hotel Building.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful staff one of the best rooms I have stayed it beds are big and very comfortable
Cons: Nothing it was perfect
6.7 Good
Pros: Beautiful in and out
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel in a lovely location. Greeting was very friendly and staff were very friendly. The Room was very nice and the bed was very comfortable. We only had breakfast in the morning which was very nice.
Cons: The bathroom in our room was small and not very practical. The shower doors are fine if you're very slim but were a bit more awkward if you are larger. There was nowhere in the shower cabinet to store shower gel/shampoo which was annoying. There was a quite rowdy wedding party who took over the lounge area so if you wanted a quiet drink that was all but impossible.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Having to leave
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful surroundings in fact very picturesque ✅ Boutique Hotel with a country house feel✅ Restaurant food Amazing 10/10✅ Will definitely return Again & Again ... In fact I have already passed the word on to friends.
Cons: N/A
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff great Food and wine excellent
Cons: The decor we felt to bling we come from Essex and although we don’t watch Towie felt the hotel had gone over the top with black Grey and glitz. Matter of taste we know but prefer something less glitz and more subdued. Appreciate you clientele are mixed but felt less bling would be better. Also having had problems with legs etc the shower felt unsafe I was in fact a little worried when using it. There was a wedding on whilst there a little noisy but we appreciate they were only enjoying themselves. If we are truthful the best service was the restaurant for it’s great chefs waiters and waitresses and wine I would be pleased to know the name of the Sauvignon I had clearly excellent.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely comfortable rooms, bar staff were excellent, lovely bar
Cons: Second time we have stayed here and for some reason I was charged £30 for having my dog with me when we weren’t charged the last time, receptionist checking us in wasn’t very helpful

Pros: My partner and I stayed at The Manor House Inn last Saturday before the Great North Run. We can’t fault our stay here! The location was beautiful and perfect for walks with the dog! Our room was great - clean, spacious and with lovely views over the countryside. Just what we’d hoped for! We had dinner and breakfast at The Manor House Inn and both enjoyed the food. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble, which was especially noted considering how busy they were! Thank you for your wonderful hospitality. We’ll certainly be coming back!

Pros: Room was very basic but comfortable bed and large ensuite shower more than compensated. Staff were very helpful and fitted in around our travel and work times. Breakfast was superb.
Cons: Parking was free and next to the hotel, a big plus but getting to it was confusing due to the one way road system.
10.0 Excellent

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Thank you very much, everything was fine. Really friendly and helpful host. Really homely atmosphere. Location - OK, is about 15mins walk from the river/Newcastle what was expected BUT there is good communication with the city. Although I would recommend a walk.
Cons: There is nothing really to point out.

Pros: real family
Cons: If staying in the top room in high summer, ask them to open the windows to cool it down before you arrive.

Pros: The staff was amazing, he couldn’t have been nicer and we will defo use again next year for The Great North Run.
Cons: I had the single bed in the room and it wasn’t the comfiest x
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazingly warm welcome from Stuart, who not only cooked me a lovely breakfast but gave me very useful tips about local transport and turned what was a potentially slightly stressful experience (I needed a B&B in a hurry because the friend I was supposed to be staying with was suddenly unwell) into an absolute delight. Everything else - the comfortable and very quiet room, the brilliant value for money, the location within walking distance of the river and with easy access to the Metro - was great, but what really made the experience was the personal touch. I'll be recommending Durham House to any friends who need accommodation in the North East!
Cons: Nothing, really!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel staff were all amazingly friendly and helpful and nothing was too much to ask.
Cons: The double beds are a little on the small side.. there was a spare single bed in the room which I moved to middle of the night as me and my partner were a little squashed in the bed
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very reasonably priced and good facilities in the room. There was a kitchen in the room so I could heat my own food up.
Cons: The hotel is by a roundabout that had a few budding racing drivers making a noise at night. It wasn’t a big deal but there was some noise.
7.5 Good
Pros: Room was very clean
Cons: Breakfast was very poor. They were short staffed but breakfast items were missing cups etc. Breakfast tasted dreadful and most diners left lots of food on plate.

Pros: Everything, The food in the restaurant was fabulous and really good value, The staff were very helpfully and friendly The cleanliness was impeccable To have the kitchen facility was such a good idea and came in very handy,
Cons: The Bed was a little uncomfortable, although we have been told they are changing all beds.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: A very good modern hotel with good service. Easy to find and good parking. Room was nice. Could have been more sound proof. Restaurant convenient and good service. Very convenient for visiting Beamish.
Cons: Like most hotels in the UK the main bedding was a duvet, which isn't flexible in terms of it being too hot. However we were able to open a window to help cool the room. Would recommend a light blanket or extra sheet be made available in the room.We would stay there again under the same travel circumstances.
6.0 Good
Pros: Long ish wait because only one staff member available to deal with 3 bookings arriving at same time and again only one member available to take orders / serve breakfasts / check out. Staff cheerful and helpful.
Cons: Temperature of room FAR TOO HOT. Radiator turned off on arrival yet it remained VERY HOT. Window opens very little. Duvet 13.5 tog rating maybe fine for winter - but no alternative (sheet/blanket)available for warmer weather. Broken chair only seating. Rooms do not provide much sound proofing and fire doors frequently banged late night/ early morning.
