Such a weird situation
The location is unbeatable. Since a room became available last minute, I decided to venture and stay here despite the horrendous reviews. Well, let me put it this way, next time, I won’t mind paying the big bucks to stay elsewhere! Only positives are the location, and the shower, which was pretty decent (as long as you close your eyes and don’t mind the outdated bathroom)
Not sure why the facilities are in such terrible shape! We had fleas all over us when we were in bed. The bed covers were torn. OMG. Overall dirty, with trash everywhere in the parking lot. How is this even possible?!
I did like the value. I didn't have high expectations. But I enjoyed the stay. I liked the location (prob the best in town). I liked the staff I interacted with. The room had basic things and amenities that are clean (e.g. clean towels) although I couldn't say the room and the facilities were super clean or perfectly maintained. At approx $50 (incl. tax) what more could I want? I would rather have an imperfect lodging close to campus at lower rate than having no option but $100 squicky perfect rooms.
Not every part of the facility was clean, you could see the building is old, although I wouldn't say dirty either. Super close to campus means both good and bad. Good.. it's close. Bad.. you'd probably have to tolerate the noise that you'd expect from college neighborhood (e.g.Thursday night party noise). I didn't mind.
Location, location, location
Convenient to downtown - park for free and walk everywhere. Good value for a night or two.
No coffee maker in room.
