Pros: Magical time. Wonderful experience. Stunning views. Fabulous hosts. Would highly recommend to anyone. Our 2 boys had a super time. We loved everything!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Peaceful, calm & charming hosts
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A long and winding road into the mountains lead to this beautiful situated ferme. We (a Dutch family with 3 young children) rented the gite for one night. The view was spectacular, the gite spacious. The whole property was idyllic with a small campsite, playground, swimming pool, hammocks everywhere. Breakfast was brought to our gite! We also had dinner at the restaurant which was wonderful and reasonably priced. The owners are very hospitable and friendly. Really, Ferme de Simondon is highly recommended by us.
Cons: Nothing really The only thing was that all the beds were in one room and that they were all 1-person beds. For one or two nights we would not consider that to be a problem, but should you want to stay longer in that concerning gite more privacy (a separate room) would perhaps be welcomed

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I can highly recommend staying at La Fougeraie. The owners are exteremely friendly, no request is too much, nothing is too much trouble. You can tell that they really enjoy running the B&B. We stayed at La Fougeraie for 1 night as a stop-over during our journey south. Marsaz is a nice area and I would recommend staying a few days to enjoy the peace and quiet. We were very tired after a long drive and were immediately offered a (free) drink to regain our strenght. We were welcome to dine at the premises (best to request this in advance) but we went to the supermarket and got some snacks (because our group have special dietary requirements). However the dinner that is served looked amazing and was fresly made! The rooms were clean, comfortable, spacious. The breakfast was plentiful and divers. Great accomodation, lovely people!
Cons: No complaints.

Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great country farming locale. Great views.
Cons: In winter a bit barren, best to go late spring or summer
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very good, with home made yogurt, jam and cheese. The room and the bed was comfortable but in our room under the roof the ceiling was quite low (less than 1.9 m)
Cons: the place is quite close to the highway and there are no mosquito nets at the window so if you like to sleep with open windows it could be a bit difficult to get asleep because of noise and harmless but annoying insects.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly welcome from the host. Excellent breakfast. Very convenient location for visiting the Valence - Romans-sur-Isere area, also very quiet during the night.
Cons: Nothing really!
10.0 Excellent

Pros: The owner was very nice and warm for us. It is like we are staying local house. There was a local breakfast. I wish I could have time to get dinner at that time. Large room and enough equipment. Nice to talk a lot with owner.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Big and functional room. Ok breakfast. Friendly staff. Private parking.
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice small hotel. Friendly service, free parking behind gate. Good breakfast. Room was big, clean, bathroom big. Fluent service and processes.
Cons: Finding the entryway with the address was a bit confusing. The address takes you to the parking area gate, and you cannot recognize the hotel from the backside. I would chance the google maps location to the entryway which you take when arriving for the first time. The location is a bit far from the restaurants in old town, but it is totally a walking distance (20-25 mins).
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Really good breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good facilities for cyclists and advice given about our route.
Cons: Some parts of hotel a little dated.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was a little sparse based on UK expectations, but was about right for European standards.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: They kindly housed our bicycles in a secure garage, as requested.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good price for location. Other places were 2x as much but all you had to do was cross over the bridge. Parking was easy and free. The staff was exceptional. Would recommend for low budget hotel.
Cons: The place isn’t very “French.” Looks like your standard American hotel. But for one night, it gets the job done.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: friendly efficient family run hotel that is spotlessly clean and comfortable
Cons: nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location is great if you’re travelling to the south, with good and secure parking. Just a 10/15 min walk into Tournon-sur-Rhône. The staff were great and welcoming, Sandra helped me find my way around and was a pleasure to talk to. Room very clean with air conditioning and a good sized bathroom. Highly recommended.
6.3 Good
Pros: Comfortable bedroom
Cons: Location was not very good.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Such friendly people here and the lady (owner/manager?) spoke excellent English. This was a quick stop-over at a convenient place on a long journey. We were able to park our motorbike in the garage - ideal - but the parking area is secure with automatic gates and barriers. The room was efficient and the bed large and comfortable. Exceptionally clean Nothing to complain about - it was a good choice.
Cons: Everything was good and we have nothing to complain about. Just a quick comment that the hotel is slightly away from the restaurants and supermarket, probably a good 10 minute walk away.

Pros: The property and buildings were delightfully idiosyncratic. The reception and attention we received from our host, Fabrice, were really exception. Fabrics was very engaging, helpful and informative.
Cons: Although it didn't affect us for our visit, parking could end up being somewhat congested if the establishment was full.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabrice was a perfect host: charming, attentive, helpful
Cons: Ideally the room would have been air-conditioned but we did get a good night's sleep in any case.
8.8 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hospitality, food and wine.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We had a GREAT time. The host was making sure every quest met each other and doing so we all had a wonderful time. Nice dinner and good company. Perfect.
Cons: The room was a little crowded, but adequate. The place, for us, a little difficult to find, but our GREAT host was down on the main street looking for us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic friendly hosts... made to feel very welcome, delicious food and amazing wines at great prices. Nice room with a panoramic terrace out the double doors... would Definitely stay there again if we're ever in that part of France.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the house, the hosts, the view, the bed, the bath, the breakfast.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous b&b that makes the best of its location on a hillside with wide verandas giving beautiful views. Unusual decor with lots of interesting artworks displayed. Very congenial and welcoming hosts. Excellent breakfast including homemade preserves.
Cons: At the top of the hill leading up to the property there's a sharp right hand turn. A bit tricky parking in a big car until Paul showed us an alternative.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved staying here. We were made to feel very welcome; the layout of the house is quirky, stylish and great fun with an eclectic mix of beautiful pieces of furniture; conversation flowed from the moment we arrived; dinner was delicious and our hosts took great pride in offering us their home made jams, jellies and relishes - the tomato marmalade had an amazing flavour...and colour. And, equally important, our dog loved his stay and was made to feel just as welcome as we were.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Fatastic location. Hosts very helpful and with good recommendations on how to discover the area by bike and by travelling around. Very good and kind service!
Hotel De La Villeon - Tournon-sur-Rhône - Building
9
8.9 Excellent (141 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel de la Villeon in Tournon-sur-Rhone, you'll be within a 5-minute walk of Le Jardin d'Eden and Chateau de Tournon.
5.8 Okay
Cons: Not a property to offer in chateau category
5.8 Okay
Pros: The staff were helpful. Bowls for the dog were supplied.
Cons: The room under the eaves was cramped and the pitch of roof, acute. One tiny window at floor level and tiny roof window. Room too dark to read. Someone is keen on taxidermy and there were many rabbits displayed in glass cabinets including one in the room. Comfy bed but church bell tolled from 7am on the quarter hour. Breakfast adequate. Kindly neighbour opposite hotel told me how to ring the door bell as not obvious and he has clearly advised folk before. Empty, cold entrance hall - rarely anyone on reception and access gained with a key. More B&B than “hotel”.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The room is big and bright The bed is very comfortable The garden is wonderful Very friendly staff
Cons: I missed a bigger wardrobe
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: 1, The location is very strange, navigation cannot find, has to drive reverse direction to reach the hotel. 2, There is no parking space, just a old house next to the old block, there is no way to talk about 4 stars. 3, At last moment my daughter decided to travel with us, more than 30 square meters of room, didn’t provide us an extra bed, must add another room. One of the two rooms has no warm water and cannot be bathed so cannot be sold. It only subsidizes 15 Euros,we 3 people use the bathroom in another room. 4, the attitude of the female manager on duty that day is very unfriendly, saying that if we do not accept her arrangement, we could go to other hotel. It was already evening.
9.5 Excellent
Cons: Breakfast was very French i.e we missed fresh orange juice, strong coffee. Would be great with a pool or an outdoor shower. It would also be great to get water on departure. Recommendations regarding restaurants could be better.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This historic property was just lovely. It had all the grace and charm, but it also had amazing amenities (bathroom was amazing!!). Make sure to explore the garden.
Cons: Not one thing...I just wish I had been there longer!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely old town house refurbished very well
Cons: Secret garden was good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff, gardens, comfort were all excellent features. Hotel is close to local architecture and restaurants
Cons: Leaving
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, walk to everything, stylish rooms
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Was like a private house with few rooms, secluded big garden and very friendly staff and excellent breakfast.
Cons: Attic rooms at the top floor do not have much light. Would probably pay more for a bigger room on the lower floor next time.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The meal and wine pairing at the restaurant was second to none - the best out of my entire food & wine trip in France.
Cons: You will not find a taxi, uber or car hire here. You must hire a car in Lyon.
7.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was good and once hotel is finished it may be fine
Cons: Staff not helpful , there was no usable pool. Much of hotel still being renovated The restaurant was closed and even in France hotels usually open on Sunday evening . Staff were unhelpful about restaurants elsewhere
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice, recently renovated (spring 2019)hotel in the middle of town. We had the suite with 2 kids on the sofabed (room 114 at the street side, but it’s a small town so no noise) + airco for warm days. Wineries & restaurants at walking distance. Nice outside pool (with towels/bathrobe etc in the room) + free parking in the courtyard of the hotel. Haven’t tested the restaurant yet but it looked nice; next time!
Cons: -
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Enjoyed the dinner in the bistro, with excellent local wines available. Front reception was friendly and efficient.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: A really well decorated hotel, clean, tidy and modern. Great restaurant with a well trained team of waiters and waitresses, excellent food, breakfast too . An excellent position in Tain l'Hermitage, near the Rhone and Tournon on foot. Lovely warm swimming pool in a secluded area. Would definately recommand this hotel to those wishing to enjoy the pleasures of Tain l'Hermitage and Tournon.
Cons: Would have liked to Spa and Bar a Vin to be open, on our next visit it will be.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is great. Bed very comfortable. Bathroom modern.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable bed, lovely shower, quiet room, very clean, beautiful courtyard.
Cons: No soap dish!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast Parking for our car
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is still in the process of major alterations, most of which are complete. Once finished it should be an excellent modern hotel. Rooms were comfortable with plenty of space and a balcony. We were rather late for breakfast and the staff were not keeping all the facilities, eg cups and some food adequately available. The hotel was very busy, query full, and the staff were under some pressure, but coped.
Cons: The plug in the wash hand basin did not work properly.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Parking and the restaurant meal & tea and coffee facilities
Cons: Net curtains in the rooms perhaps
6.8 Good
Pros: Ideal as a one-night stopover. Staff were courteous and helpful. Food for evening meal and breakfast was good. Secure off-street parking was a bonus when you have a car full of luggage.
Cons: The room was a bit small and although there was nothing to complain about, neither is there anything that shouts "stay here".
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We did not have breakfast
Cons: Our evening meal was deeply disappointing. We booked a table in advance Staff forgot to serve our main course After 45 minutes and two reminders it arrived and was cold.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Secure parking
Cons: Not much
7.5 Good
Pros: Location and secure parking. Good evening restaurant - very efficient.
Cons: Buffet breakfast was very empty by 8.45 and wasn't being restocked. This is the second time we have stayed there this year. The first time the lack of food was even worst so we did not stay for breakfast.
7.0 Good
Pros: The dinner and menu here is very good and the hotel is in a pretty location. It's easy to walk across the river to the other side of the village to more restaurants and wineries. If you have a car, there is a parking lot at the hotel, but it fills up quickly, although there is parking along the street, too.
Cons: The room was considered a "comfort room" but it was very small (too small) and once we opened our suitcases we had no place to stand or walk. The room's window looked directly into the parking lot and across to the dining room. If we wanted natural light, with the curtains open, it was very easy to see into the room, and into the bathroom.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very good value. It also had secure parking for a few cars. It is just a short walk over the bridge to the other side of the river where there are some pleasant riverside bars and restaurants.
Cons: Dinner on the hotel terrace was very pleasant on a hot summer night. The food was attractively presented but it seemed to lack seasoning, except for the salmon which was too salty, otherwise the meal was good but just in need of some adjustment of seasoning.
7.5 Good
Pros: Central location so good to explore town. Evening meal very good and reasonable price.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Accomodating staff. Gave us wine glasses, showed us good walks, lollies at counter

Hôtel Les Vieilles Granges - Pont-de-l'Isère - Bedroom
15
8.3 Excellent (197 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Situated in Granges-les-Beaumont, this hotel is within 6 mi (10 km) of Centre Historique de la Résistance et de la Déportation, Musee International de la Chaussure, and Jardin Zen d'Erik Borja. Excalibourg and Cité du Chocolat Valrhona are also within 9 mi (15 km).
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Splendid restaurant - it was so good we booked a further night there on our return journey. We will stay there again. It is easy to get to from either motorway, rural peace with a lovely river view, and a truly excellent restaurant. It is worth it for that alone and it is not to be confused with that other phenomenon: the 'hotel's kitchen' - this is the real thing! Moreover, the reception was charming and helpful in every way.
Cons: SatNav instructions took us to the within 150m of the hotel, but there was a problem: we were on the south side of the Isere and the only crossing point was a dam that was not open to the public. Luckily I had a paper map and then set out on the rather long roundabout journey (well over 10km) and then finally found the hotel from a sign on the roundabout on the D532 west of Romans. So they need a SatNav point that gets one to that roundabout - when sign posts can take over!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Bedroom was small and basic but what we expected and it was clean and comfortable. Dinner was excellent for a small Logis.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Stunning location. Excellent dinner in evening.
Cons: Small room especially the loo.

Pros: Le Château was such a great find. The staff were excellent. Even though the hotel is dated 1836 (?), it was well maintained. Our air conditioned room was a bonus. We also had a very good dinner.
Cons: Due to the age there was no elevator but the manager kindly took our bags to our room. Parking was available for a fee but we were able to park in a blue zone that required a clock and only allowed 1 1/2 hour free. The breakfast at 11€ each seemed a bit high.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Perfectly located next to Via Rhona with lovely views to the river and 2 mins walk to restaurants etc'
Cons: Aspects of property need renovating/modernizing but entrance and rooms have been renovated which was perfect.

Cons: No parking as advertised on website
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Cool even on v hot day with no AC. Friendly, helpful, attentive staff. Great location. Traditional old fashioned, almost becoming "retro". It was the only hotel available in town that night on booking,co for 3 people. Was not expecting much but very pleased
Cons: A bit dark but that is because it is old style. Noise from street and bars but that didnt bother me because I was so tired.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly atmosphere ,lovely staff and good food
4.5 Okay
Pros: Very few.
Cons: One thing is sure we never come back to this hotel. We could not sleep all the night, terrific traffic noice, loud live music even after midnight. It was hot night, but could not open the windows. The dinner was poor. The staffs atitude were, when in France, speak French. We felt insulted. The menu was only in French. so simply asked what is it, beef or pork or fish. Even though busy, they could show positive atitude. Furthermore we were demanded to make payment in the evening which was the first experiience through the entire trip.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, does whatever it takes to meet your needs, also for safe parking of our bikes.
Cons: Breakfast is OK, but eggs and youghurt would have been nice..

Pros: Staff where very welcoming. The restaurant was excellent.
Cons: Bathroom was very small. Parking was strange. No car park signs, No entrance intercom or bell. I had to park the car at the rear of the hotel and walk to reception to ask how I access the hotel car park. That said, the staff immediately took me to the car park, open the gates and all was good. The hotel show invest in a car park sign and a bell on the gate.

7.0 Good
Pros: Really friendly people running this hotel. They deserve success. French breakfast was better than average.
Cons: I came back to this hotel after 2 years because I recalled the restaurant to be exceptional. The restaurant is still very good, but not as good as I remember. I think it has changed ownership since my last visit? Some repairs and maintenance are also required in my room. Nothing major, but it would be sad to see the condition of the rooms deteriorate. Despite my comments, I still think that this is a great place to stay near Tain L'Hermitage.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: For once we were on the Ground Floor, l hate stairs!
Cons: The directions from the Motorway to the Hotel were completely wrong with regards to the map shown on the Booking.com site. In fact it was much easier to get there than suggested! there were roadworks stopping us going what we thought was the correct way to the Hotel but instead followed the diversion signs which lead us even more directly to the actual Hotel!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Was very quiet. Good to sleep. Only an overnight stay. Staff was very agreable
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We were surprised to find new owners at this hotel that we always use as a stopover when travelling to the Var. Fortunately we were very happy with their welcome and service and will have no hesitation in continuing to keep up our tradition of staying there.
Cons: No complaints.A relaxing evening
7.5 Good
Pros: Dinner and breakfast. Staff. Clean room
Cons: Some renovation needed but they seem to be working on it. A bit noisy with road next to hotel.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very clean. Super location!
Cons: Check in process was awkward getting from the car park to the restaurant by foot - not an easy, direct path
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, free parking with CCTV, very convenient. They even let us keep the parking space during the day after check-out while we were visiting. The bedroom was very decent size, very clean and comfortable. We could not open the windows as otherwise people outside could see inside but for one night it was ok. Highly recommended.
Cons: Windows on the corridor (outside) therefore could not be opened. OK for one night.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great location in town and an excellent breakfast. The rooms are very basic and a little tired but clean and functional. Good secure parking.
Cons: Rooms were hot and the aircon didn't work but I still think its good value.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Good location, clean.
Cons: The light didn't work and the shower head was broken. A lady knocked on the door at 9am telling us it was time to leave even though check out was at 10.30am.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Centrally situated in town close to shops, bars, restaurants etc.. Very quiet room.
Cons: Nothing.
5.8 Okay
Pros: convenient situation of the residence and parking.
Cons: Offhand attitude of the staff. On arrival found that it was a residence not an hotel; being required to pay in advance; on trying to book dinner, were told that the restaurant was closed. Broken chair- could have caused serious injury.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is in the middle of a significant renovation. It has a sister hotel opposite on the same street. This sister hotel manages the operation of Le Castell, including check-in and front office business. The sister hotel is called F and S, it is one star more than Le Castel, it should be on your site. Of the two hotels it is the only one with a restaurant. (Yes one has to cross the street and walk 300 yards to get to breakfast). The restaurant is Bistrot Marius. It is a jewel. Dinner was an elegant sprite. Service great, menu broad and well prepared and presented. Breakfast was a buffet hot and/or continental. For a small town like Tain this is a very recommendable restaurant. At Le Castell parking is easy. Le Castel has no staff or personel other than cleaning personel.
Cons: See above, because the hotel is currently managed by excellent staff who are across the street in another hotel there is no staff presence in Le Castell. The main doors are open to anyone all day and night. It is controlled by camera and the control center is across the street in the other hotel. Tain seems like a safe town, but Le Castell has no onsite security. We enjoyed our stay we would stay again, but we would prefer to staybat the sister hotel across th street.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Staff were great and helpful
Cons: The room was too hot! Air conditioning was shut off the second night we were there. Only one pillow (hard). Ask for more and they were delivered with no pillow case and they were filthy. Breakfast was not a good value for the money. Not much security, people off the street could easily access the room. Bathroom was as if you were on a ship. I’m a slender person and the shower was so small I kept shutting off the water as I was washing. Also burnt my arm on the faucet pipe as it was extremely hot.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: good localization, own parking
Cons: Wi_FI simply does not work :(
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent. The hotel is quirky but the room was a good size and clean.
Cons: The staff at breakfast were very disorganised. There were very few tables occupied when we entered the dining room but there was not one table that had been cleared!
