Pros: The staff was very helpful and helped arranged a sightseeing tour for me at short notice despite a language barrier. Highly recommend this place.
Pros: Kindness of the staff. Superior Room worth the upgrade.
Pros: By the sea, as described. Staff great, they couldn’t do enough to help! The food was also great
Cons: The room was very noisy as the walls are too thin so I could hear every movement above and voices next door. Even snoring
Pros: It’s right in front of a private beach which is really great. The room was also pretty nice, everything you need is already there. The veranda with overlooking view of the ocean was breathtaking! I truly enjoyed my stay here.
Pros: The very friendly staff made our stay in Amami Oshima perfect. They brought us to the bus stop and the airport shuttle was very accurate. Would definitely recommend this place to whoever wants to stay on this lovely island. The restaurant has a nice menu and prices are reasonable.
Cons: The hotel is far from public transport and you need a rental car to make the most of your time (unless you just want to stay at the beach)

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. A shuttle from the airport to the hotel is complimentary (available on request).
Pros: We had a Spacious room with two floors and 4 beds (we needed only one) and nice bathroom. It would be possible to stay there with a group of 4. Very nice view of the bay and surrounding beaches. Good restaurant with European and Japanese/Ryukyu kitchen. (Hotel staff translated the Japanese menu for us so we could choose from both menus not only from the European. This was a lot of work for them, thanks a lot!!). Nice choice of wine, sake and beer. Kurasaki beach is just a few meters from the hotel. We hardly met any people on the beach during 4 days eventhough the weather was nice and the water was just perfect for swimming. Parking is right next to the hotel building. Renting a car is a good idea because Amami has a lot to offer and it's very easy to drive there even for people who cannot read (Japanese) nor have any experience in driving on the left side.
Pros: The staff in both the hotel and restaurant were all so friendly and helpful. The room we had was large enough for our family of 4 (2 adults, 1 teen, 1 child). Kurasaki Beach, right next to the hotel, was an excellent spot for swimming and snorkeling.
Cons: I can't think of a single thing that I didn't like about this hotel. We would highly recommend it to others. It was a great place for a family vacation.
Pros: The location and the people are great.
Cons: The coral reef is dying and looks like nobody cares. Diving teams go to the nearby reefs but the teacher doesn’t teach about respect of the coral reefs and I saw divers touching the corals, and even damaging the corals with their fins. The coral reefs are very damage by boat ancles and I saw many nets and trash on the beach. They need to make a deeper clean on the beach and not just the place in front of their hotel. Also I saw an asbesto roof covering the gas tanks of the hotel. Inside the rooms there is a smell of plastic from the construction materials. If you are allergic to plastic fumes you shouldn’t stay here.
Pros: The staff on reception were making an effort to communicate in English. We had a free shuttle to the airport.
Cons: The whole place was a big disappointment. Everything is outdated. Nobody speaks English. The main attraction - the beaches, are full of plastic, stones and all kind of garbage.

Pros: Despite location of the property on a rather remote island, the facilities were surprisingly good, and the staff very helpful. The food was good, too. And we were even taken to the airport by the hotel staff!
Cons: We had asked for a double bed, but that was not available.
Pros: Rooms are large and the facilities very good, including the public bath and the swimming pool. The location is outstanding with the nearby beach and good road access to the northern part of the island. Half-board was included and the provided menu was very good.
Cons: Since the hotel is located outside of a village, I had to travel a few kilometres away to find a konbini store. Something to be aware of and not really a negative point about the hotel!
Pros: All the staff were very friendly, from housekeeping, staff in the restaurant to the manager. Thank you very much for that! They really did their best to make us happy and they succeeded very well! The food in the restaurant was very good, we ate both local and western food and it was both very tasty. We have eaten in the restaurant every night. The hotel has a beautiful view on the beach and the sea. We had a room with a view of the green mountains and that too was very beautiful.

Pros: Well managed hotel. I had asked for a quiet room and they gave me a single room on the 8th floor of the annex. The rooms are small but have everything you need, including free wireless internet.
Cons: The noisy aircon. To equip a room of this size with a 1500 kW unit is a bit of an overkill.

Cons: I think it could've been cleaner and better furnished in terms of aesthetics.
Pros: Friendly, accommodating and knowledgable staff with a wide selection of shochu available.
Cons: The futons were a little tin.
Pros: I loved my stay in here! For starters I would definitely recommend Amami as a destination, it is lovely. The hostel was cozy, there was a nice common place with tons of books and a bar. Free tee and coffee were provided. It's close to a bus stop and also not far away from the bus centre. Walk distance from the port. The best part of my stay was definetely the lovely staff who went out of their way to help me plan. Would definetely stay here again!
Pros: My trip to Amami was one of my most memorable in Japan so far. People in general were very friendly and accommodating. I stayed at the Golden mile in the mixed dorm room for 3 days. The other guests were very friendly and easy to get along with. Staff was super helpful with information about getting around. The location is very close to the bus stop and very easy to get to from the airport. There are many amazing restaurants and bars nearby. I was able to rent a bicycle at the property for 500 yen! Theres a bar on the first floor, I stayed up very late talking to the staff and my new friends in Amami.
Cons: Nothing negative to say, everything was great!
Pros: Staff helps to organise all kind of activities. Clean and nice rooms.
Cons: Only a small fridge and no dishes, except cups.

Pros: Perfect location for my move from previous distant hotel to catch the early ferry, very helpful staff, and a wonderfully good and cheap Sunday lunch!
Cons: It was all fine
Pros: Everything was exceptional
Cons: Too expensive
Pros: Everyone at the reception was helpful whenever I asked questions about shops or transport. The room was spacious and clean. The location was very convenient as you can take a bus to the airport from the bus stop very close to the hotel.
Cons: It would be even better if WiFi could be used in the room without a rental equipment, but rental was free and the WiFi in the lobby was very good.
Pros: Pleasant stay. Nice breakfast/restaurant on site. Generally welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. Easy location near port.
Cons: Nothing in particular.
Pros: From the hotel every part of the island is easely reached.
Cons: Place is a bit worn down and smoking is allowed in the lobby, the only place where wifï is available.

Pros: Fantastic views, spacious, huge pool, beautiful beach, nice ambience. NB I was there at a quiet time of year (mid-March). Goodness knows what it's like in season when there are lots of groups on diving holidays and having parties...
Cons: They didn't cater for vegetarians. Breakfast buffet was fantastic, but the other meals were very limited and poor. Strange considering that there was nowhere nearby to eat out so they could have capitalised on that. Instead we bought supplies and ate in the room.
Pros: Excellent buffet. Close to the beach. Great swimming-pool
Cons: Staff could be happier and more dynamic.
Pros: Super friendly staff and great location two minutes from a lovely beach. Also great value for money.

Pros: Got a sea overlooking view from room :) 10mins walk from naze city centre. Staff was very helpful, had to use google translate everywhere hence communication was sorted. Wifi was good, bathroom decent, breakfast(continental & japanese) and 10th floor restaurant had an amazing view of the naze port bay. Took car on rent from hotel, cheaper than other car rentals.
Pros: This is a worn hotel at the edge of town. However, it was a good value for the money. The rooms were adequately clean.
Cons: The things I didn’t like about this hotel - its general shabbiness - are to be expected from a hotel in this price range.
Pros: Clean bedsheets and towels. 3minute walk from port terminal. Helpful staff. Free toiletries. Soft-ish bed. Drugstore/Supermarket next door. Bus stop outside hotel. Free luggage storage on check-out day.
Cons: Bugs in the room, think one was a tick. Mouldy, tired bathroom. Mould in bedroom around Aircon unit and radio. Dirty walls and fridge.
Pros: The room was not small.

Pros: Close to the bus stop.
Pros: Location of the hotel is very goof.
Pros: Not far from the ferry terminal.
Cons: Amami itself was disappointing. We should have done more research. Winter time is not the best time to go even though the temperatures were reasonable. Breakfasts were not included and we had to pay extra which we hadn’t realised. We also had to take a walk to the local Joyfull round the corner as the breakfasts were not served on the premises.
Pros: Mainly location - suited our purpose
Cons: No breakfast but a discount ticket for the Joyful restaurant provided daily
