We spent a week here and enjoyed being right on the bay and being able to sit on the edge of a dock and watch the sunset. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our time there and found the hotel was an excellent place to relax. The only bad thing I have to say is that continental breakfast was limited.
The setting on the beach was beautiful. We appreciated the continental breakfast. There was no Internet cafe, no phone in the room and no movie channel on the TV. The room was smaller than we expected. Address was stated as Key Largo, not Tavernier, which was a problem for our GPS unit
Staff was excellent: they allowed us to hang out after checkout, gave us a blanket to use in the hammock, and heated our leftovers so we could have them for lunch before we headed out. Absolutely fantastic service! Plus the place itself is beautiful, lots of beach chairs and hammocks to hang out in, bed is the most comfortable ever.
There were other people staying there, but we could easily just be 'on our own" which is what I prefer. We had bad weather while we were there, so we did not get to partake of everything the resort had to offer. I'd like to go back again when the weather is better. Although we didn't "see" other people that much, the walls were fairly thin and we could hear them in the evening and at night. I always travel with a small noise maker, so that helped, but it could be a problem without that.
The quiet. Right on the Gulf. Close to the Wild Bird Refuge. Excellent eateries nearby. Leaving.
beautiful rooms, hammocks were beautiful, right on the beach. We had a deck overlooking the water. breakfast is really bad, there wasn't even any bread - just cereal and muffins.
The hotel staff were very friendly. They provided a free kayak for me to explore the bay. No phone in my room
Having breakfast on the beach can be nice, but I really need at least a plate! Having to put my bread and butter on a small paper napkin is very unconvenient and not hygienic.
This hotel is a little hideway . Very comfortable and clean. When you drive down the road to the hotel, there are a lot of rundown houses but when you get to the hotel, you are pleasantly surprised. I would recommend it if you need a place to stop on your way down to Keywest. There is nothing to do in the area except snorkel or dive
Proximity to the beach, great staff and nice grounds.
We stayed overnight and left asap the next morning...they refunded us 10$ of cost (15%) because the room/building was not the one pictured in the ad...it was down the road . They own another old 2 story hotel building and told us we had to request the one (Keys Resort) pictured in the ad, It was a different building than pictured in the ad; no internet as advertised, (unless you went to the lobby in the Keys Hotel building.. 2 buildings to the south) broken door handle in bathroom, rough place...but fairly clean. Broken fixtures in bathroom...a run down place!
f antastic photos at website and fantastic name for a motel that offers outdated rooms.
The restroom was clean. First, the hotel was impossible to find since the name Keys Lodge and Boat Docks doesn´t exist. No one knew the hotel by this name. Instead, you will find the name Keys Motel. When we arrive thereno one was there. It looked like an abandoned motel. The photos that are in bookings site are deceiving. You won´t find those rooms at all. In our room the sheet and the cover had holes. They don´t have internet.
nice view in the backyard. it´s not a resort - it´s more as a motel - a very expensiv motel!!!!
Very clean rooms and friendly helpfull staff. Only downside they didnm't have a fridge in the room for drinks.
The view of the canal was great! Shower faucet was reversed: cold on left, hot on right. Fitted sheets did NOT fit
Nice quite location
The room was great and the location was in the middle of all the things I wanted to do. Snorkeling at John Pennekamp was right down the road, grocery store and movies within a mile, drinks at RumRunners-Islamorada at the end of the day. The condition of the outside of the buidling was a little rough. Pulling in I was undecided about staying, but once seeing the room it was a no-brainer. We stayed.
The patio table and chairs outside our room and meeting other people staying there because they were using the patio too. Wonderful view of the water canal, boats, and homes located in the area. We had a large room with 2 queen beds, refrigerator, microwave, dining table and chairs. Very tropical theme to the décor and good ceiling fan and air conditioner. Different customer service reps at the counter, all were super helpful and kind! Nothing
The coffee shop across from the hotel was the best thing about the stay. not affiliated with them but fantastic. Cafe Moka the entire process of checking in was absurd. No early check in, even if you get the operator to put a note about it. I had done just that and when i got the operator on the phone 30 minutes before the 4pm check in i was told they don't do it and suggested i was making it up, then she found the note and instead of apologizing said to me that those were the "rules". You have to use the phone to get an operator on line to give you a code for the key, all the keys are stored in a lock box in a tiny 4x4 room. when the operator finally answered after about 15 rings, they asked me for my credit card again and said I hadn't paid, which i did. then they give you the "code" to open up the box and take out the 1 key for all doors and your room. Once we got to the room (no elevator, we were on second floor, but they have 3 floors) the window in the bathroom was open and propped up by two rolls of toilet paper. the bathroom was barely large enough for an average sized women, but my husband was cramped in, the door to bathroom didn't close, the towel and toilet paper holders were broken. the bed was clean and it was very basic small room with a/c in the bedroom window. it was very disappointing overall and will never recommend or stay there again. DO NOT STAY THERE!
