Room was available for early check in as requested. Cot was already in bedroom with additional bedding and towels provided. Breakfast was superb!! Room not ideal for toddlers, we booked a room for a toddler and was provided with a cot etc. however we were provoded with a disabled ready room, lots of emergency cords everywhere, so I had to watch him nonstop. Also big post toilet with no lid, not ideal with an inquisitive toddler!
The hotel had lovely surroundings and the dinner & breakfast was very good. We felt the wine was pricey
Excellent staff. Breafast good. Hotel pool superb. Overall this is a top class Hotel. Nothing.
Staff very helpful and standards very good We booked a 2night stay but the hotel only had us as a 1night stay so caused a few problems on the second morning but took 1hr to sort it out. It was very difficult to under stand what the waitresses were saying due to them being foreign and they spoke very little english badly. The evening 3course meal on the second night took just over 2hrs which was due to the hotel being full,it would have been akward if we had arranged to go out.
Having trouble thinking of any ! The poached eggs at breakfast were excellent. It took 4 attempts to get a quiet room where sleep was possible - very loud generators outside 1st room, 2nd room - still generator noise and staff unloading what sounded like metal beer kegs into a compound outside window at approx. 1-30Am. 3Rd room-ventilation unit from golf club on roof causing continuous humming/droning in rooms and corridor. 4Th room - peace at last ! Standard of cleanliness was very basic, was basin overflows grubby, mirror corners caked with dust, black mould around some baths, dust on top of bedside light fittings and headboards, plastic bits from new clothing packaging still on floor from previous guests.
This is a conveniently located hotel with a wide range of facilities. The room was comfortable, the food of high quality and the service helpful
lovely setting near to family home
All you would expect from a Hilton, but in an accessible country setting. Excellent value for money. None
The room was clean, large and confortable, the breackfest very good, the location very nice, staff friendly . No
We have already booked to go back to the hotel. It's well-run, has well-tained staff, and is at the moment very competitive on price. Also comfortable. Food above average. No.We enjoyed ourselves
Character of the hotel
The friendliness of staff and the room was fantastic. We had a meal we could not fault the food or the service. There were not enough tables a breakfast. There was only one waitress on so there was no one to keep an eye on the breakfast room making sure there was enough coffee cups and glasses, people were having to wait for tables. This could have been due to the lack of staff.
Very good, comfortable with good staff. Off road parking at the back. Well situated for the abbey. No complaints at all.
The historical aspect of the property. Specious room. Because of location, inclined to be noisy.
Well equipped large single bedroom, with excellent ensuite shower & wc facility and with secondary glazing to keep out trafffic noise. The hotel, as its name suggests, dates back four centuries and hence it is a listed building full of charm and character. At the same time it's being well looked after and modern day reuirements for comfort and service are well met Food was excellent and good value for money. Staff attentive and friendly. Unable to open bedroom windows since otherwise disturbed by traffic noise So without ventilation the room was rather too warm at night. While in the evening, secondary glazing could not keep out the noise of cars arriving and departing the parking bays right outside the hotel to visit the local "Blockbuster" which thankfully closed at 10 pm.
Very friendly hotel in excellent location for exploring the Cotswolds. No internet WiFi in the annex.
Hotel with plenty of character Hotel is currently being renovated and there is a lot of noise from workman at the rear. Could do with bedside lights. Tudor House Hotel needs to make it clear that Weekend breakfast times are later weekday times.
Decent well priced Bar. Good Room Breakfast was very slow service due to busy time
friendly informal atmosphere
Excellent choice of breakfast, we paid extra as booking was for the room only. Room very comfortable En Suite very small
frienldy staff;good ambiance
nice people, very central, enjoyed our stay No nothing - though i could imagine difficulty with parking spaces
we found the staff very welcoming and helpful in fact remembered use from a previous visit earlier in the year.i would not hesitate to recomend this hotel
welcoming and friendly, the room was quiet and the bed was comfortable and there was a good choice of breakfasts - I will be going back. I didn't much like the wall paper, but hey I was only there one night
We found the owners polite and welcoming, the place decorated to a high standard, the facilities were very good and the breakfast was delicious. The hotel had a very good vibe. No, it exceeded our expectations and we wouldn't hesitate to go back.
Very comfortable and homely b&b, being on my own I wanted to be somewhere with a personal feel to it and that is what I found.I Would stay there again.
Room modern, and clean. The shower shoehorned into a closet was a bit disconcerting. And I don't appreciate being served instant coffee at breakfast.
Friendly hotel with good menu and good beer in wonderful location opposite the Abbey.
The staff were friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. Ideal location for Cheltenham races which is only a 20 minute journey by car. The breakfast was lovely and although the staff were friendly the service was very slow. The en suite shower was extremely cramped.
Free Wi FI No place in shower for Soap - Great shower, but where do you put the soap/shower-gel??
Plenty of room everywhere, breakfast very good, bar very well stocked
very special sunday price, which included free wi fi and breakfast. no complaints
a bit cold and draughty fire place not in use
Good bar and food and plenty of room, you don't have to sit in the restaurant to eat
location was excellent and good value for money shower in bathroom was very poor
I enjoyed the relaxed atmoshphere and the friendliness of the staff
Value for money , friendly , great rooms and food
Friendly. Quiet. Staff were helpful. Good facilities - pool, resturant, bar, taxi service etc. Hotel loks a little bit old in places.
easy access to Cotswold countryside
lovely rooms. excellent facilities
the bathroom was poor and basin drained very slowly.
Breakfast good choice Room a long way from entrance
our room was very spacious and very clean, but quite a long walk away from the main block. everybody was very freindly. we eat one night in the restaraunt,we did nit feel the layout and organisation for a evenig meal was very personal and private, felt like you were eating in a canteen, and food was quite expensive for what you got. more than adequet for breakfast though, breakfast very good.
Food is very poor value for money, breakfast is poor
The rooms were comfortable and well equipped, staff freindly and helpful the setting beautiful. What let it down was the restaurant which was pricey and the food average or less. My daughter is a vegan and ordered olives and bread as a starter from the menu. We asked about the composition of the chopped olives as my daughter could smell fish the waitress did not return, when we finally asked someone else they came back and said anchovies were included and a bowl of balsamic vinigar by then we had all finished ours. For mains we ordered a selection of vegetables and asked them to include some mushrooms and asparagus, what was delievered was a plate of boiled cauliflower, broccolli and carrots. They called this stir fry and charged us £12.50
service was good room service was slow it took 50 miins and fire alrms consistantly going off
it was just ok, didn't feel 4 star access at arrival, directing you to carpark at back then through staircases and corridors back to main reception we could have accessed from front, felt like a delivery not a guest, the room smelled badly of damp, as must the others as the whole corridor did.
pretty surroundings evening meal not up to the standard of cuisine I expect in a good class hotel. the menu promised good food interestingly prepared but did not deliver. dry and uninteresting taste
The view. In had been recently notified of a break in at the hotel to the lower ground floor rooms and vehicles in car park. As a single women making a booking I had been allocated a ground floor room which I requested was changed on immediate arrival.
The situationof the hotel and the grounds were exceptional
we liked everything about it. However, we booked for and attended the christmas dinner/dance but sadly being two ladies alone sitting on a table for two, amongst groups of friends who had attended the dance, we felt out of place so left immediately following the dinner. I like everyhting in that there was nothing i disliked
EVENING MEAL IN GREENS BAR WAS APPALLING
Peace and tranquility. Room service, quick and efficient. Nice friendly staff. The bed was not the most comfortable that I have slept in.
Excellent golfing facilities, and gym. Disappointingly small pool, also we were expecting a super-king size bed, and our room had two single beds pushed together. We were then told by reception that there are no super-king size beds in the hotel.
Quiet environment and spacious facilities. Breakfast Access to/from the room was poor, and access to Reception required too many doors and corridors. Restaurant closed too early (before 10 p.m.) although we could have had room service.
First time to the hotel, will not be the last. The staff all seem really pleased to be working their & be part of your very well run team.
Excellent staff and restaurant Nothing
Sp0tless Communal check in bar and resturant multi purpose area not satisfactory
the cleanliness of the hotel and it was quiet and peaceful the only issue we found was the bar isn't open for serving alchoholic drinks after midnight and there isn't room service
Very clean and modern rooms. Food good but restaurant small especially when you have a coach trip staying who fill up the restaurant. Would stay there again. On booking I requested a room not above 2nd floor but was allocated a 4th floor room. This was changed but if they had read my instructions should not have happened.
Brand new hotel, ideal for what we wanted None
Wonderfully kept property, tasteful decor. Friendly staff. Enjoyable stay. A little far from the city center for walking, but seemed to be a good base for exploring the area by car.
There had been alot of attention to detail throughout the hote Head room in the bathroom is limited and also the soundproofing was not great
nice clean room, was not asked if we wanted a "turn down service" and lots of photographers all over the place.
Stylish interior, good breakfast choice, friendly and competant staff. lackof headroom in ensuites
Wonderful warm welcome and very well trained staff. Excellent.
Very friendly and helpful staff both front of house and in general. Particularly proactive in recommending restaurants in Cheltenham and organising efficient taxis. Room was well decorated with modern amenities. Loved the feel of the Regency house itself. Would be scratching around to find a negative.
The hospitality and service were fantastic. Excellent location and surroundings. Family run. The size of the room was pretty small!
Premium room was superbly appointed, and spotless. No
The hotel was super, very good room, breakfast etc reasonably priced in comparison to others of similar or better rating. Had stayed at the Queens hotel before which has a wonderful situation but preferred this hotel which we thought was better all round except for location at half the price. We had to use the car to get into Cheltenham, to walk in, shop and walk back would be too much. However it was worth it.
Rooms well furnished and decorated
Convenience to the centre of town, parking, and being in a quiet position, spacious rooms, and good breakfast, hotel has friendly helpful staff,a very pleasant stay. None
Only way to descibe hotel is first class accomodation
very near to shops room was clean and warm bed was a bit hard kettle had to be plugged in on bedside table not near tea ,coffee ect
A very stylish, friendly hotel. Clean and comfortable. Very helpful staff.
Friendliness, welcoming, Comfiness of the room and breakfast. It was warm with sub-zero temperatures out side! Nothing
Good facilities. Convenient to town centre. Good breakfast. All in all good value for money. No. I'd stay there again.
Stylish and comfortable townhouse hotel located within 5 minutes' walk of the town centre. Excellent value and free parking. I can't imagine wanting to stay anywhere else in Cheltenham.
The breakfast! It was not "10 minutes from town centre" unless you were a teenager on roller skates! For a middle-aged lady it was 20 minutes. OK in daylight but undesirable after dark.
Beautiful rooms, beautiful hotel, great location close to shops and places to eat/drink. Breakfast took over an hour the first morning as they are cooked in the order that guests arrive in the dining room and we all arrived at once!
Excellent for friendly staff. Accomodation was small but adequate. Modern but in keeping with the surroundings None
Very clean and comfortable. Good sized room with super bathroom.Excellent, albeit slow, breakfast. Good location.
This was our second stay at the hotel because it is very centrally located with good access to the centre of cheltenham which is only a 5 minute walk away, but it also also provides a very quiet location when in the hotel . The information available within the hotel is also excellent Nothing
Good location with parking. Good size room, good products for bath and tea, coffee in room.
Clean, very comfortable bed, great power shower, great breakfast, friendly reception, good location. Room was cold when we arrived, flex too short on kettle, had to ask for towels.
location & breakfast. the room had sloping ceilings, which was arkward because im so tall.
Location, welcome, decor, presentation, comfort, facilities My husband is tall. If we had known in advance about the sloping eaves we might have upgraded the room
Excellent decor, friendly staff, good breakfast, clean, comfortable, well- maintained and stylish. Lots of nice touches (papers available to read at breakfast, massive vases of lillies in the sitting room etc.) Good position in town. None
Beautiful decoration of the rooms in true victorian style but which were comfortable and relaxing to be in.
Central location. Bed very comfortable. Problems getting any food after 2 p.m. particularly Sunday (day we arrived) No lunch! No bar snacks/sandwiches! Also apart from the dining room you cannot get a light meal in the evening. Also our request for room overlooking the Park was ignored
The friendliness of the staff.
the staff were lovely, the room was very clean
The staff were extremly helpful and friendly, always on hand and polite. Also I ws a great location. Slightly disappointed with the inside of the hotel. I have always wanted to stay there as it is the premier hotel in cheltenham but found the interior very old and seriously in need of redecoration.
To be honest, there was not a thing I liked about the Hotel. The Hotel appeared very drab and shabby. After ordering a very expensively priced cocktail costing £8.00 at the Hotel bar, I was told if I wanted peanuts it would be another £3.00 please.
Quality and cleanliness of room Checkout is a bit fraught
Atmosphere and breakfast in conservatory! More information about what and where things in Cheltenham were- in file in room!
Extremely pleased! Everyone was so helpful and kind! Room was very nice and cleaned well every day. Room service perfect along with huge food selection in restaurant. It really couldn't have been any better! Not one single thing! Someone mentioned a new owner within the past week I was there but I did not see any problems with that and the service at all. I would stay here always. Wish all were this great and perfect!
Location. Room was comfortable and clean. Noise from the street outside. Despite the windows being shut, we had two nights disturbed sleep from the traffic and noisy passers by.
Old style hotel, good bar and perfect meeting place for Cheltenham race week, walk to points of interest in town. very noisy at night and the whole place is tired. For racing only.
Location Noisy Corridors
Value for money, cleanliness, location Hated the sliding glass door to bathroom - my daughter has restriced sight and it was not easy for her to use
central situation prefer english to contl. breakfast
The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel was clean and tidy as was the rooms.
Convenient position Cleanliness Good breakfast I was lucky with the car parking but others were not. More clarity on the limited parking would be more honest
All very clean and functuional Nothing
We enjoyed our brief stay, The location was quiet for a city centre, Great. The room felt as though we were the first guests, spotless & well appointed, with everything we required. Breakfast although stated as continental was substantial & well presented. In all much more than we expected. Many thanks Dave Gittus M.B.E.
Very well located to the High street. I found it easy to reach the venue of the conference I had to attend. No complaints.
My room was a suite and was very nice and clean. A bit to expensive
Very pretty , comfortable room, and nice view from the window! There are sheep and cow at the hill - back of the House -. And owners are kind, friendly. I had great time!!
made to feel very welcome.
Lovely and unusual place to stay. Food and service excellent.Breakfast in conservatory most enjoyable. Room a little dark. En-suite needed a little refreshing.
The hospitality was wonderful, the premises itself was beautifully kept, light, bright and spacious with views to die for. The room we had was really spacious and they hadn't forgotten those little touches that make all the difference, flowers on the bed and a few chocolates plus bottled water as well as the tea coffee, biscuits! A lovely welcome on arrival with tea and cakes in the lounge went down a treat. Breakfast was really good with an excellent selection, we really enjoyed our stay!
The hotel was lovely. We have travelled for 2 months and this was the best hotel for warnth and friendliness, great rooms, great area and every welcoming owners where nothing was too much trouble. We will love to come back again.
Owners of the Cleeve Hill Hotel are most courteous and helpful. Delightful to converse with.
the welcome and help from the owners; the good sized room; the view the shower in our room tended to flood the bathroom floor
It is proprietor run and the husband and wife team is very friendly and attentive. Excellent cooked breakfast. The ensuite, but the owner is having that upgraded soon.
This hotal is so excellent! Staffs were very kindness and freindly. A room with view and larger than is offten the case. We ate full English breakfast. It's so good! I always recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a venue.
Staff (who were actually the owners. Location. There were cobwebs in the bathroom. There was a lot of noise which sounded like radiator pipes kicking in which did wake us up very early.
