The proximity to the 'Big Lake' is breathtaking. There are so many extras included with your stay that you really cannot beat the value. I will not stay anywhere else when traveling to the beautiful North Shore.

The room was great. The only thing I would change is to have a smaller table with two chairs or simply a breakfast bar with stools so there would be room for a dresser or storage of some sort for clothing. It got a little cluttered after a few days!

There are a lot of scheduled activities that introduce you to the area, such as kayaking, hiking, etc. You can also borrow bicycles to explore on your own. All at no charge for guests. Every evening there is a bonfire, with complimentary s'mores, right next to Lake Superior. What could be better than that?! We had an amazing stay. You can be as solitary or as social as you wish to be, as you can schedule your maid service to your wishes. This vacation has given us a destination for the future. We are already planning our return. I cannot say enough positive things. The reason I chose this resort is for the reasonable price. I do not think anyone would be dissatisfied. And the food...don't miss an opportunity to check out Coho Cafe located on site. The Coho Club sandwich, homemade pizzas, and pastries had us coming back every day. Also, a trip to Grand Marais will be completely worth your while. Loved it!!

It was beautiful and peaceful. You can't beat having your own deck on the lake, a wood fire place (with free fire wood), and free activities (such as snowshoeing and ice skating). We even went dogsledding at a local place!

The room was clean, the internet speeds were plenty fast for uploading my photos after a day spent out in the nearby state parks and out on the shore, and the continental breakfast options were varied (waffles, bagels, ham and egg English muffins).

The price was great for the quality of the hotel. It was decently close to the lake and in between some state parks.

The worst part was the queen bed. The mattress was very uncomfortable along with the pillows the awkward 3 flat that are provided. That was the only complaint i have.

Great view of Lake Superior in every room! They are affordable, friendly staff and have a good location.

If I had to change anything-I would want nicer bathrooms-but they were not in bad shape, definitely wouldn't stop me from going back.

Clerk awarded us a restaurant card to compensate for problems with room. Could have dog in our room.

Initially, TV totally failed to work. Call to desk gave no instructions that fixed it. I helped the clerk swap tv from another room and we finally had tv.

Not much.

Room needed to be remodeled. First floor room facing the parking lot with no drapes, only a shade. Shade stayed down to keep people walking by from looking in. Shade had a 2 in gap on the side and the sun shown in right on my face at 5am when it came up.

Staff was accommodating when we asked for a new room and upgraded us to the main resort. Very friendly and helpful.

Upon arrival, room smelled heavily of mold and mildew. Not worth $90 per night for anything.

This is a nice Inn, price is right. What Impressed me the most was I had forgotten my jacket in your room. We went up the north shore then I realized I had forgotten my jacket. A day later on our way down south from the gun-flint trail. We stopped back at Lutsen Mt. Inn to check to see if anyone had found and turned in my jacket,(NO receptionist on duty) to my surprise the gale cleaning the very room we stayed in knew of the jacket and retrieved it from the laundry room for me. They don't have a breakfast of any kind, only coupon to the Lutsen Lodge to eat. The food was very expensive, we had 2 children with us just couldn't afford it, there wasn't another place to eat for 8 miles and it was a deli not small children friendly. Lutsen Inn had a coupon for $5 on a up grade for the breakfast buffet the price was $15, we didn't understand what it meant. The receptionist didn't understand what I was asking, $5 off the $15 we pay $10, or we pay $5, she just kept saying I don't understand what you are asking, I just wanted to know what our cost was. We just didn't eat there.

Great architecture, a very SPCL place. Also the chimichurri burger alone is worth a stay or a stop here!

Some noise between rooms, but that's really minor
