We were recommended the hotel by my uncle and aunt who live in Totnes who we were wishing to visit but do not have sufficient space to accommodate us. They described it as comortable and convenient for their location in Bridge Terrace. We found that the hotel was as described and that the staff were friendly and helpful and the facilities very good. It was good being able to sit and read the papers in the upstairs sitting area and generally felt friendly and relaxed.
Very friendly staff and highly efficient service. The staff / customer experience was on at least a par with multi-starred hotels. The building is quite old, and some thought should perhaps be given to improving the soundproofing of the rooms. One was woken several times during the night by sharp noises from adjoining rooms, which was somewhat irritating, and detracted from what was otherwise a flawless experience.
The staff were exceptional nothing was too much trouble always has a smile and were very friendly but professional. excellent food and selection of real ales. None
very friendly and responsive staff with high customer service attributes . Also an excellent breakfast service with freshly cooked items served at the table . Much better than the serve yourself arrangements where items are left under a hot lamp system The restaurant for evening dinner is a bit overpriced. £6.45 for a starter which turned out to consist of a 4" sardine on a miniscule bed of apple slices and celeriac is pushing it a bit.
Very friendly staff, nice atmosphere in the hotel Window opens onto rather noisy road
Clean, friendly staff, lovely setting. Car park a bit awkward.
Bedroom fitted out with attention to detail and design- bed was very comfortable. We liked the toiletries and lovely perfume left for guest use in bathroom - a simple nice touch. Food , particularly breakfast was excellent and hotel had a relaxed friendly atmosphere Hotel undergoing some refurbishment to outside so didn't look attractive when we first arrived
Very welcoming staff. Food excellent. Room comfortable but not as luxurious as we expected. Hotel situated on main square, great in daytime for shopping etc. But noisy at night
Everything excellent. Only the booking process that wasn't very easy!
Very friendly and helpful staff - good food in all bars/restaurant plus breakfast Only a couple of late evenings. Some furniture was moved past our room into a storeroom next door which was rather noisy especially since one of the evenings it was past 10.30pm,
An excellent location and upgraded to a room with a lovely view over the river estuary. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Efficent parking system. We will be returning in the near future.
Not having to get meals
Very pleasant staff Very clean rooms
Friendly & helpful staff Room 1/Room 2 dividing wall too thin. Voices/snoring heard in Room 1 during our stay.
Service great Only criticism is that the quality of finish in the bathroom was not perfect. Poor grouting and traces of pin mould
The scenery located on the river was excellent and the staff were really friendly which made our weekend
Reception was very friendly & helpful Food was excellent Staff in restaurant were very efficient, friendly & helpful No lift! I have a mobility problem and found climbing up and down stairs very cumbersome and tiring
Very welcoming, friendly staff. Good food (and drink) in both restaurant and bar. Bathroom a little cramped.
Lovely family run business set in a wonderful higgldy building. Staff very helpful, great location, would definately stay there again if visiting Dartmouth again.
Courtesy of Staff ensuite room 12 a bit small
wonderful breakfasts and great atmosphere is bar area it was too hot in the rooms
Exceptional staff courtesy on arrival, beautiful location, comprehensively fitted apartment with modern amenities, use of spa facitilities. The family thoroughly enjoyed their time at Dart Marina it's been our 2nd trip and no doubt we will be returning, already thinking about the summer!! There is nothing negative to comment on about this hotel
Lovely room with view of the River Dart. Very friendly staff, would stay at this hotel again. Small point, but was disappointed with the breakfast for a hotel of this quality. Would have expected fresh fruit, not tinned grapefruit and peaches.
Comfort and luxury Very poor wi-fi - I had to carry my laptop around the hotel to find internet access
An excellent hotel with efficient, friendly staff and a great location overlooking the river. Our room was very comfortable, it's only 5 minutes walk to town and the breakfast was superb. Recommended! No problems at all.
good facilities, close to town the waitresses in the restaurant for dinner relly didn't seem interested.
the staff were extremely pleasant spa facilites basic and poor (pool very small mixed changing room with only one shower) shower over bath soap and shampoo in dispensers too high on the wall for use in the bath
Spectacular location, bistro was wonderful and the breakfast was much improved since our last stay. Very warm evening when we stayed at this hotel and even with windows open during the night, the air circulation was insufficient for comfort. The lack of air conditioning is an issue at this hotel.
the warm welcome that we received and the comfortable surroundings.
Splendid mediaeval architecture, externally and the bedroom. Although there was a brief mix-up over rooms on arrival, the staff were very helpful.
Character of building Location (also refer comment on parking in bad points) Lack of parking - not clearly flagged prior to making booking Room hadn't been properly cleaned Toilet didn't flush properly Staff generally unenthusiastic
Room decor. Central location Lack of parking . Steep steps to access accomodation.WiFi advertised as available in the guest bedrooms but was not, neither could guest use their mobile phones in the bedroom and there was no fixed telephone line in the room =no telephone connection possible from accomodation !!
Comfortable clean room, beds very comfy, staff very helpful and friendly. There was no view from the window as it overlooked interior walls, this also meant there was no fresh air and the room was too warm.
The old buiding was fabulous and we stayed in the drake family suite. The childrens bunkbeds downstairs with our room open planned in the rafters - wonderful.
Location was very convenient. Staff were friendly and accommodating and helpful. They offered us a better room that was available for two nights out of 4 of our stay. Parking is a nightmare. No minibar in the room and no room service. Room number 4 was the most uncomfortable, the floor and bed sloped (ie, floor was not level). Double beds are very small, I advise you book either a superior room or twin room. There was a dog in one of the rooms barking all the time.
The manageress was especially helpful. In the morning I was in a hurry so she provided an excellent cooked breakfast half an hour before the scheduled breakfast time.
The brekfast was excellent room dark decor shabby and only one chair in a double room
The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast good. The hotel was in a good location for us with lovely views over the golf course. The hotel seemed a bit tired and the bathroom needed a bit of updating to bring up to scratch.
We were upgraded to a lodge in the grounds of the hotel which was a great treat. The staff were excellent, always smiling and helpful. The lodge needed vacuuming when we arrived and we had to ask on day 3 for a cleaner to come and clean.
Nice countryside location, not too far out of Dartmouth. Staff extremely helpful, rooms very comfortable. Pool area and some parts of hotel in need of an update.
Staff good, breakfast good, general very good if you are a golfer Needs some tender love and care on outside a good clean and coat of paint would make very good
Great setting, excellent beds and high quality of customer service from very attentive and personable staff. The golf course and facilities were an added bonus.
lovely location, curteous and helpful staff good food
The staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent. The meals available in the evening were excellent they lack the important ingredient, for me, of a pudding, but I think and hope that this is in the process of being rectified. The bass of the music played in the bar resonated throught the bedroom, although they did try very hard to keep it down.
Dartmouth is a spectacular gem of a town, off the beaten path and full of genuine charm, especially for anyone who loves the water. This Inn is well-located, the price was right, and the owners have done an excellent job bringing a very old building up to speed. Our room was above the bar and therefore sometimes noisy. The room was quite small but the bathroom was first class.
Location, friendly staff & value. Timed light in corridor outside room permanently on.
The room was clean and nicely furnished with lovely view of the estuaty, the staff were really friendly and the breakfast was fab! We ate in the restaurant on both nights of our stay and it was really good value for money. We're already planning to visit again in February. When we visit again we'd like to stay in a room with a bath, on the top floor if possible.
Location on banks of River Dart. Excellent breakfast, with swift service. Clean modern bathroom. Bar lacked atmosphere.
Evening food very good Did not enjoy the cooked breakfast - eggs not cooked properly
Friendliness & helpfulness of staff; excellent location for riverside & town centre; good food & drink; pleasant atmosphere in bar. Bathroom door didn't close properly; no detachable shower-head; shower leaked onto bathroom floor; insufficient hanging space for clothes
superb view, near to amenities and friendliness none
