I would stay here again. The night staff was a little less professional than I expected. I suspect he was a student at the University of Alabama, and was more focused on chatting with his visiting friend than providing us with extraordinary service. But overall, not bad.
Somewhat dated common area in main building. Room was spacious and clean. More than once in my 3 night stay I had difficulty finding staff to help me. Complimentary breakfast was well done.
Absolutely would not give me a ground floor room. I had to carry all my bags, computers and printers up and down steps. One day I went without internet, so I couldn't get any work done. The receptacles in the room need to be replaced. Plugs won't stay in them.
The first room they put us in stunk of cigarette smoke. We asked to move and they moved us to a clean smelling room.
black hairs on sheets, footprints in bathtub, tissue holder came right out of the wall, no soap, loud air conditioner, no elevator but the fridge and microwave were nice. safe area and friendly staff i have low standards so i would stay there again, at least i didnt see any bugs
I needed a place to stay for one night as a stop on our way to a conference, and this hotel worked as a good midway location. The hotel was right off of I-10 and the main street in town and easy to locate; the staff was helpful and friendly; and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel was older but not run down. They were located close to a variety of places to eat at different price points as well as a pharmacy and shopping locations. The continental breakfast was definitely satisfactory, and I would stay there again. It was not a fancy place by any means, but it certainly met the needs of what I was looking for. I was able to hit the road again the next day feeling rested and refreshed which was my goal.
Reserved this room for 3 nights but checked out early the first morning. Room was dingy, next door had a room full of scruffy men who cussed and drank until the wee hours right outside my door, called and complained many times. I did NOT feel safe here. The clincher was when I looked up and a HUGE (I'm talking 2 inches long) roach was crawling on the ceiling. I checked out first thing the next day and booked another hotel for the rest of our stay. When I complained about all this to the manager, there was no offer to reduce my rate. This was absolutely the worst hotel in which I have ever stayed.
Internet did not work the entire time we were there. We called the front desk but the person there apparently didn't know how to reset it. The manager reset it and got it working in the morning just as we were checking out. (Why doesn't the front desk staff know how to do this or how to contact the manager to be walked though it? How hard can it be?) \nThis place needs security. \nThe continental breakfast was out of orange juice an hour before it was supposed to close and there was no one to ask about it. I informed the front desk.
the hotel looks ok from the outside , but the rooms are old and dirty , several roaches were found. looked like a homeless shelter
My stay on the property was fantastic. The customer service was great and it had a pleasant atmosphere overall. I would definitely visit again.
When I arrived the property was under renovations. I was not told this at time of booking. I was afraid to take my shoes off. I had to call the front desk 6 times to get a baby crib and when I finally did get it, I was scared to let my child sleep in it as it was about 40 years old. pool was not open - spring weather. Also not in a very good area of town.
Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was very accomodating to let us check in hours early. Pool was super clean.
Presented as a highly rated hotel, this place was more of a dowdy motel. People were nice and friendly but the physical plant was just plain depressing.
