Pros: Hostess was simply lovvely.
Pros: A warm welcome, a convivial atmosphere, a delightful and very comfortable room, in a wonderfully characterful property... And a superb and most generous breakfast. What more could you want?
Cons: Nothing. We liked it just as it is
Pros: We stayed only 1 night in this renovated castle. Very kind host who made our stay comfortable. Breakfast was very tasty and a good atmosphere!
Pros: Beautiful, tastefully decorated room. Fresh flowers a lovely touch. Excellent, spotless shower and bathroom facilities. Delightful, welcoming lady owner, who brought us tea in the garden on our arrival and allowed us to ramble through her orchard among the chickens, then chatted about art with us in the evening. ...
Cons: Nothing, although the village is a long way off the beaten track!
Pros: The breakfast was extraordinary - beautifully prepared and presented, and a huge array all just for me! Just lovely.
Cons: Nothing not to like
Pros: A lovely place, with kind and helpful owner.
Pros: The building is stunning and the bedroom furnishings in keeping with the style of a chateau. Food was good.
Cons: Our room was let down by the quality of the bathroom - the shower head did not reach the wall bracket and had to be hand-held. Towels were thin and not 'chateau' quality; disposable plastic tooth mugs.
Pros: Lovely grand old building in super grounds with nice pool area looking out over the gardens. We were offered a choice of rooms and opted for a big room on the top floor of an annex building. Very comfy firm bed and separate loo and bathroom. Family run and staff all friendly. Good food in the restaurant and buffet breakfast choice ok. Excellent value for an overnight stop on route back to UK from Swiss alps.
Cons: The decor is some areas ( eg pink bathroom suite) is a little dated but it adds to the charm!
Pros: The beautiful and peaceful surroundings
Cons: Nothing to dislike
Pros: Beautiful settings in a very quiet location. Excellent restaurant and good parking facilities. Have recommended this chateau to friends who want a relaxing time in a rural location.
Cons: Cannot think of anything
Pros: Beautiful gardens
Cons: Property needs work, blankets were dirty and old. Restaurant food was not fresh and too heavy.
Pros: The staff on Reception were really helpful , the amenities in the room were good. Super Wi-fi .The food in the restaurant and the restaurant itself exceeded our expectations. The swimming pool is in a lovely setting as is the hotel with acres of grounds . Downside is finding it but the satnav did a wonderful job
Cons: Would have liked a room in the annexe facing the grounds , the other side can be noisy late at night when people from the restaurant return to their rooms or cars . The room smelt musty on arrival
Pros: Beautiful castle and garden with a lot of potential!!!
Cons: Everything with this hotel is old and oldfashioned and breathes 1970’s or 1980’s. Rooms have probably not been renovated since then, textiles such bedspreads and armchairs have stains and are worn out. The dinner menu does also seem like something still being the same since 40-50 years back.Even the staff seems oldfashioned though some of them are quite young... Everyone seem to do their best but they seem to not have noticed it is 2019 now and that makes you sad as a guest as the potential is enormous in this beautiful building and the surroundings.
With a stay at La Corne aux Vaches in Frétigney-et-Velloreille, you'll be 12.6 mi (20.3 km) from Château de Ray-sur-Saône and 15 mi (24.1 km) from Ludolac. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Rooms are identified by coloured shells, ours was brown/marron. Large and lovely room overlooking the rear garden, downstairs there is a fridge with drinks and an honesty box.. Good breakfast with freshly made coffee. Good looking pool close to the house, but what made this stay so worth the visit are the hosts Claire and Thierry, they are a lovely and friendly couple.
Cons: quiet town with not much to see or experience. One café which closed the day we arrived for holidays.
Pros: As always, a very warm welcome from Claire and Thierry to their very special Chambres d'Hotes. Exceptionally clean and fresh throughout and large rooms with big walk in showers. The property is surrounded by wildlife and it is possible to walk into the parkland behind and watch the wild deer if you can find them. Also the two peacocks roaming around add another dimension which is difficult to match anywhere else. I will keep going back as it is always a wonderful experience.
Pros: La Corne aux Vaches is an excellent Chambres d'Hotes with great food and everything you need for a relaxing stay.
Pros: Claire and Thierry go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The garden and park are fantastic, as is the swimming pool.
Pros: Everything is lovely
Pros: Altogether a most amazing place to stay if you enjoy wildlife and the peaceful countryside. I made a last minute booking and within an hour received a phonecall to ask if I would like dinner in the evening. Wonderful hosts and an incredible property with 17 hectares of extremely well kept ground. Two beautiful peacocks, deer a donkey, rabbits and endless space to walk. I will definitely return.
Pros: One of the best places we've ever stayed, perfect to get away from the city buzz, it was super calm and relaxing. All facilities are clean, neat, spacious and beautiful!
Pros: A lovely tranquil place to stop and the owners are very welcoming and helpful. Great facilities, a huge room and secure, private parking for our motorbikes. Lovely breakfast outside on the terrace in the morning. We would have liked to stay longer to take full advantage of all the facilities on offer and wish we had room in our luggage for the home made preserves available to buy - delicious!
Pros: We have stayed at La Corne Aux Vaches before and have had the most enjoyable evening meal with the hosts, cooked using their own produce. There is a kitchen for guests to use which enables you to prepare snacks and a meal if necessary. The property is well maintained and very clean. There is good parking.
Pros: Large bed in a quiet environment; We much appreciated the common room with kitchen facilities next to our room. Very friendly hosts - great garden to relax and to walk in. Excellent breakfast on the terrace if the weather permits.

Pros: Location excellent. Hosts very friendly
Pros: We left early so host left out our breakfast for us which was quite nice of them. Hosts were not available when we arrived, but their daughter let us in and showed us our room.
Cons: The description of the property was incorrect ... perhaps the translation from French to English? We were expecting a house with a single bedroom, but instead it was an upstairs bedroom in a house. Very hot and stuffy, no fan. No privacy within room for toilet and shower. We are walking the Via Francigena and there are very few services nearby. No restaurants and a small grocery about 1.5km away.
Pros: Fresh bread for breakfast
Cons: Very nice owner cannot compensate, the place is just to old and worn down to rent out.
When you stay at Hotel de La Tour in Dampierre-sur-Salon, you'll be 13 minutes by car from Espace le Festi'Val. Featured amenities include laundry facilities and an elevator. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Very friendly Service, clean even the room is a bit old fashion, excelent food and superb host
Pros: It was cheap, had a balcony with a nice view and friendly staff.
Cons: Some elements in the room showed signs of wear and tear.
Pros: Rooms spacious
Cons: No aircon. Couldn’t get tv reception.
Pros: Comfortable bed
Cons: The bar restaurant was closed to residents the night I arrived. Only one other restaurant in Gy - also closed. The receptionist offered only “If you want to eat - wałk to the supermarket - 1km”. No warning. No communication. No offer of anything, even a cold collation for guests. After 29 km of walking, I wanted something to eat and drink. I had to settle for a supermarket sandwich in a supposedly small 3* hotel...
Pros: We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a large room at the front of the hotel. So we had lots of space which was lovely.
Cons: The plumbing in the room was poor ( the loo kept running) and there was only one wall light, and only one bedside lamp.,
Pros: Very enthusiastic and helpful staff at the associated bar restaurant. The room had the required facilities. It is a bit odd because the rooms have been created on the floor of an office building so it doesn’t look and feel like a hotel. But it did the job for us as pilgrim walkers. Bar and restaurant were handy and across the road from supermarket and Boulangerie.

Pros: Estelle was so welcoming and helpful, enjoying practising her English on us. A property steeped in history, but modern and clean. She laid on a superb breakfast using homemade and local products and also happily booked a table for dinner for us in the next village 5 minutes drive away. Added bonus was the pool, sauna and massage chair! Ample off road parking safe and secure. A lovely sleepy village. We didn't get to meet Estelle's farmer husband, but thank you Estelle for your company and kindness.
Pros: Great breakfast, large rooms and lots of extras you may use freely. E.g. sauna, massage chair, pool table, .....

Pros: Wonderful place to stay! The hosts were lovely and the accommodation was perfect. Quaint village off the beaten path. Hope to make our way there again in the future.
Pros: Jean Paul and Colette were amazing , very friendly, made the effort to try and speak English because they knew that we only spoke a little French. Breakfast was awesome, Colette kept bringing more and more! Accommodation was exceptional and very dog friendly. Value for money was brilliant. We don’t normally do reviews but this really is 10/10
Pros: Warmth and friendliness of Colette and Jean Paul. Ability to prepare meals independently in a small kitchenette.
Pros: The breakfast was wonderful, our best breakfast in France. The owner is very kind and caring. The space in the room for four people was very spacious and comfortable. The surroundings of the B&B are very beautiful and peaceful. A nice place to rest form the road trip. The village is very beautiful and quite. We will be back to stay for more days in the B&b and in the region.

Pros: We had supper there. the food was good traditional french food - like going back 30 years.
Cons: We almost left because there was no way in and no-one to greet us (it was a Sunday). Finally a neighbour raised the chatelaine from an adjacent house. This was despite being told exactly when we would arrive. The rooms were just adequate but I only had a wash hand basin.

Pros: Probably the best B&B we stayed at in Europe.
Pros: This is the most perfect "Chambre d'Hote" we have found over many years exploring France. Luxurious, comfortable and with excellent facilities. Dinner was exceptional and showcased the local produce, as did the substantial breakfast too. The hosts are very friendly but unobtrusive when required. We did miss the superb honey we've had there before but the bees had a very bad time last year - but the home-made yogurts almost compensated.
Cons: Impossible to say what could be improved.
Pros: Superb breakfast, comfortable room, friendly and helpful hosts - who recommended a wonderful restaurant where I had an outstanding evening meal.

Hosts could not be more helpful We had a family room - which was perfect. We were towing a trailer, so they let us store this in their Garage without concern. We also had a small dog - which again was no problem. We had asked for an evening meal (€20 per head). Great home cooking, absolutely delicious, and accommodated our gluten free dietary requirements with clear knowledge and understanding. (Gluten Free bread at evening meal, and Gluten Free bread and Brioche for breakfast). Highly recommend. We will be back
