Cons: Nothing to complain about.
Pros: The setting is more than beautiful. Lovely hosts!
Pros: Secluded. Beautiful pool and outdoor kitchen. Excellent breakfast. Wonderful hosts. Room had convenient kitchenette and terrace had BBQ grill.
Cons: A/C did not work (but evening temps cooled off room quickly with windows open. Bed was not very comfortable.
Pros: welcome - breakfast
Pros: welcoming hosts, perfect breackfast, very peaceful place to stay.
Pros: Everything! The place is amazing! At the heart of the wood, so green and quite and peaceful. The cabine is lovely and comfortable, Sophie, the owner, is so nice and helpful. And for those who come during the summer there is also a very lovely pool. Highly recommended!
Cons: The only thing I would recommend to improve are the towels in the bathroom. They are big and clean, of course, but not soft enough anymore after so many laundries.
Pros: Breakfast was perfect
Pros: The hosts were very friendly and helpful and spoke good English. The room was tastefully decorated , comfortable and very clean. The environment was quiet and relaxing. The pool area was lovely.
Cons: It would be good if the electronic gate could be remotely controlled.
Pros: - The breakfast was super - Tips for what to do super helpful, we made our complete program on these - Room as up-to-date, personal and clean - By car most places in the Provence are well reachable
With a stay at Le Vieux Moulin in Jouques, you'll be 13.9 mi (22.4 km) from Montagne Sainte Victoire and 16.1 mi (25.9 km) from Saint-Sauveur Cathedral. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: In the most delightful hide-a-way position, easy parking, near main village road. Rita and Jacques are superb hosts and serve excellent breakfasts, second visit. Hope to return.
Pros: Hospitality of the woman - delicious breakfast - silence - modern bathroom
9.8 Excellent (27 reviews)
Situated in Saint-Marc-Jaumegarde, this historic vacation home is within 6 mi (10 km) of Pavillon de Vendome, Saint-Sauveur Cathedral, and Cours Mirabeau. Place des Precheurs and Eglise de la Madeleine are also within 6 mi (10 km).
Pros: Our cabanon was perfect! It was cute, quaint, and Julie was so sweet and kind. Such a beautiful countryside stop with the convenience of aix-en-p so close by!
Pros: great place, we receommend it!
Pros: Hosts. Location. Facilities . Pool. Comfort. Would return in a heart beat
Cons: Nothing to dislike
Pros: The location was gorgeous, the owners delightful, the room thoughtfully appointed. Breakfast was incredible. Could not ask for more.
Pros: Julie and her husband Mathias have been so attentive to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Breakfast was gorgeous, huge and absolutely delicious. The room was full of small attentions: here some snacks and drinks to enjoy and relax after our arrival, there some sweets, on the bed a bunch of lavender and towels ready for us by the pool. The house is ideally located, in the nature, by the Sainte Victoire mountain and 15-20 min from Aix en Provence. We spent 3 days there and did not do a thing as it just felt like paradise.
Cons: Absolutely nothing
When you stay at Le Relais de Saint Ser in Puyloubier, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Montagne Sainte-Victoire. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Planning an event in Puyloubier? This hotel has facilities measuring 2583 square feet (240 square meters), including conference space. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Amazing views and the best breakfast. Coffee was amazing as well!
Pros: It is a fantastic place. Great restaurant with a unique view. Very freindly and helpful staff. I enjoy every minute.
Cons: Everything was well.
Pros: Gorgeous place against the most beautiful mountain in the world!! In credible nature , hospitality and food in the middle of awesome wine country and wonderful easy drive to Aix
Pros: Lovely, quiet place. Silent bedroom and very comfortable bed. Lovely scenery at the foot of the St. Victoire mountain range.
Pros: Fabulous hotel and restaurant with wonderful owners and staff, very cool atmosphere!
Cons: Loved everything!
Pros: You can’t ask for a more spectacular location - with mountain walks to the rear and huge valley views from the superb pool to the south. Great evening dinner too. Very lovely and helpful staff. Comfy beds and linen.
Cons: Not much room in the room to manoeuvre cases (no stand) and a room safe that was not fixed in place and broken. AC was effective but a bit noisy and we were glad the heatwave had turned so it was cool enough to switch off at night and open the window. Hot milk at breakfast for coffee would be a nice touch given it’s quite a pricey breakfast at 13€ (quality ‘bio’ produce - some ham and cheese - but little more than a continental breakfast)
Pros: wonderful view of beautiful mountain. food (both of breakfast and dinner) was excellent!
Pros: Very nice location with spectacular view. Nice rain shower and very comfy beds. Very good food during dinner. Nice pool.
Cons: Seems there's some lack of attention to detail, which is why I believe this place does not deserve a 9 average score here on booking. Shower door rubbers where hanging loose. Quite some mold/rust around should door hinges. Several room lights not working. Poolside shower not working. Very lean and insufficient breakfast.
Pros: Excellent location
Cons: Welcome and service are average
Situated in a former Templar mill built in the 12th century, Le Moulin en Provence is surrounded by a large park of pine, olive and fruit trees. It features a private swimming pool and a terrace. Rooms at Le Moulin en Provence are elegantly decorated with classic furnishings. Each room has a private terrace with a garden view and a private bathroom with a shower and hairdryer. Continental breakfast is served daily and includes breads, homemade jam, cheese, homemade yogurt and fruit juice. Grocery shops can be found 5 km from the property and there is a restaurant serving traditional French food 1 km away. Le Moulin en Provence is located at the foot of Mont Saint Victoire and hiking, horse riding and paragliding are available in the area, and on-site massages and beauty treatments can be arranged on request. Aix-en-Provence is 10 km away and Marseille Airport is 41 km away.
Pros: Very quiet and beautiful location. Pierre and Dominique are both very nice and lovely hosts. Dominique is an excellent cook!
Cons: Nothing to complain about. Unfortunately the weather was not good enough to have a dip in the beautiful pool.
Pros: We were made very welcome and the location was superb. Very quiet and peaceful. Our room though small was clean and comfortable. Though it was not air conditioned in very high temperatures up to the mid 30s during the day, the walls are thick and we slept well, though the duvet was not much used! There was a kettle and sachets of coffee and tea in the room - you don't always get that in France. Every day there was a fresh bottle of water for each person and we could use a communal refrigerator to cool it and soft drinks we'd brought with us. We decided to take the table d'hòte dinners - maybe a little expensive but they included a quarter litre of wine and dining elsewhere would have needed taxis given the strict French drink driving laws. You have to order in advance and both have to choose the same things from a wide choice, which was not a problem for us because we often end up choosing the same food as each other in restaurants. A particular highlight was dining on the terasse with a view of Montaigne Sainte Victoire - breathtaking so close. Breakfasts were very good - the home made yoghurt with sirop au saffron was a highlight. The 20m swimming pool was great and the water temperature ideal. There were plenty of loungers and parasols and we rarely had to share the pool area with others.
Cons: The price of an aperitif or digestif was higher than we had paid in Paris, so being from Aberdeen, we didn't buy any!
Pros: Beauty and tranquility of the environment, implacably clean rooms, exceptionally warm and kind hosts, superb breakfast and the host’s table, breathtaking views.
Pros: beautiful location with friendly staf and geest cooking
When you stay at Déjeunez Sous l'Arbre in Rousset, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Sainte-Victoire Golf. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: This hotel has a very friendly staff. The rooms are more like a crossing between a vacation cottage and a motel. The bed is comfortable and the WiFi works well. They have a restaurant that kind of belongs to the Hotel. At least you can put the dinner on your bill. This is not a budget restaurant but if you are willing to spend a little more you can have a very nice French meal there. The breakfast is typical mediterranean, i.e. Spartanic.
Cons: The room was not exactly in a bad shape or disrepair but there where a few (small) items broken, missing or not working.
Pros: The location was ideal for me as this was a business trip. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The onsite restaurant was superb and breakfast had a good selection.
Pros: Comfortable accommodation, much nicer than a corporate hotel. Great restaurant, friendly staff, I will stay there again in the future.
Pros: It was a great room under the trees . Totally relax, great breakfast, friendly staff. Loved the coffee machine in our room. Very quiet a night. Situation very good indicated, near to high way.
Cons: Too low ceiling in the room, location is between factories, industrial part of city
Pros: Our children enjoyed the swimming pool.
Cons: Value for money was poor considering we had to sleep on a sofa bed.
With a stay at Maison d'hôtes la Garenne in Puyloubier, you'll be in the mountains, and 5.8 mi (9.3 km) from Montagne Sainte Victoire and 14.4 mi (23.2 km) from Cours Mirabeau. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The hosts David and Beatrice are fantastic - welcoming, kind, caring and wanting to help as much as you need or don't need. They could not have looked after us any better and we will truly look forward to returning. The swimming pool, jacuzzi, table tennis, petanque, BBQs and sun area all fantastic.
Cons: The whole set up is excellent. We cannot complain - if you push us then all we could say is that Beatrice makes so much amazing home cooked food for breakfast that we could not eat it all! The mezzanine bedroom has a very low ceiling.
Pros: Beautiful place to stay, the view is stunning. The room is nice and clean, and the facilities (jacuzzi, swimming pool, barbecue ...etc) are amazing. The hosts were also very welcoming. In short, we had a great time at Maison d'hôte La Garenne.
Cons: Nothing !
When you stay at Au Havre de Paix in Vauvenargues, you'll be in the mountains, within a 15-minute drive of Saint-Sauveur Cathedral and Cours Mirabeau. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Confort absolue !
With a stay at B&B Hôtel Aix en Provence Le Tholonet in Le Tholonet, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Cours Mirabeau and Place des Precheurs. Featured amenities include express check-in, an elevator (lift), and a vending machine. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: great location , great value, comfortable
Cons: check in was closed during mid-afternoon hours. Also could not drive into parking lot during this time. that said, maybe shutting down during those hours is effective money saver, and I believe hotel did previously inform customers about this. Being able to park car in lot would be nice as nearby parking is hard to find
Pros: the location nearby with an area of restaurants, shops
Cons: the soap dispenser was broken, it should have been replaced
Pros: Easy to get to- not far from Aix centre
Pros: They have a very nice and big guarded parking.
Cons: Breakfast is just basic stuff. The receptionist is a cook, cleaning lady and receptionist, everything in the same time in the morning rush hours. They should employ additional stuff to help with breakfast during morning hours.
Cons: Only Smoking room was available. Cigarette Smell in the corridor
Pros: It was very clean and satisfied us. We arrived late. The main door was locked and nobody to help. Tren it is understood that a code was sent by mail and check in should have been done by a machine at the main door.
Pros: FILTHY room. stains, drips on the wall, the whole thing. Avoid.
Cons: Bad smell. Tiny room.
Pros: Exactly what you need for a night next to aix on budget Clean, comfortable, nice breakfast. 3-5 minutes to the center of aix by car
Pros: Good value for money. Clean room, comfortable bed, free parking, good wifi.
Cons: Breakfast could be better ...
Pros: Simple nice room, exactly what we needed. comfort beds. strong Wifi. Breakfast was OK. There is a very nice pizza place near-by. Overall, we liked it a lot.
At the heart of the vineyards, 15 minutes from Aix-en-Provence, the four-star Mercure Aix-en-Provence Sainte Victoire hotel perches at the foot of the Sainte Victoire mountain. The air-conditioned rooms combine comfort and well-being in a Provencal décor in a 13th century building. For business trips, this charming hotel offers all the necessary equipment for working in complete tranquillity. After a visit or a meeting, relax by the edge of the swimming pool on the terrace of our restaurant.
Pros: An old farmhouse converted into a hotel, very French. Nice size room with a small yard. Good coffee tea in the room, good size bathroom. An average hotel in a strategic location if you are visiting Marseilles, Verdon and Mont Ventoux in one trip.
Cons: RESTAURANT Even with abundance choice of places to eat in Aix area, we decided to give the hotel restaurant a try. We were disappointed both by the service and the quality of food. To begin with when we arrived, my wife (an Asian) asked, in English, if it was too late to have dinner. The waiter, looked at her, paused and with no expression turned and spoke to me (a non French speaking Italian) in French, as if my wife was not even there! We were appalled. When we complained, the waiter was sent back to our table to take our order and this time in perfect English! After confronting him, we found out that not only he spoke and understood English well, but that for him, acting as he did was not even a problem. He also pointed out with a hint of arrogance that he had been a waiter for over 20 years. This further confirmed that he understood my wife from the start but decided to disregard her for whatever reason. Whatever his problem was, racial or gender discrimination is unacceptable especially in hospitality business. This is 2018 NOT 1918. If the waiter couldn't see past skin color or gender ( we couldn't see an other reason for him to act the way he did but these 2 ) then he shouldn't be in this line. We were so unhappy with the incident, we checked out the next morning even if we booked for longer stay. Had we managed to find another hotel the same night, we would have checked out immediately. No matter how nice the hotel is, we wouldn't want to spend money in an organization that retain this kind of individual. We are frequent travelers and traveled the world and never have we came across anything such as this. FOOD On to the food, our over priced 18 Euro salad came looking like it was a day old. The leaves were brownish and inedible. We will just let the picture do the talking. Done here, never coming back and definitely would not recommend this place to anyone. ROOM If you are allergic to spiders, beware.
Pros: We stayed at this charming hotel while attending a wedding in the Trets area. It was very comfortable and clean, with an excellent breakfast buffet, lovely pool, and helpful, friendly staff. The remote location was somewhat challenging, as it is not near a bus stop and it’s not easy to get a taxi. I’m hindsight, a rental car would have been the way to go. The WiFi is very spotty, but with a little effort, we were able to find a place in the lobby that got service. On the whole, though, it was a very nice stay.
Cons: The WiFi was spotty, and the remote location, on a highway, makes it difficult to leave the premises unless you have your own car. But the hotel itself is a lovely oasis
Cons: Noisy doors slamming in the morning. Bad design.
Pros: The facilities and the landscape around are just incredible. The staff is very gentle and ready to assist. The Galiniere Restaurant inside the hotel was very nice too. Great enviroment to chill out.
Cons: Wifi barelly worked in the room. No frigobar/ refrigerator in the room. A/C not strong enough. It´s a pitty not everybody speaks good english but they did a lot ot effort to understand what we asked.
Pros: Good pool
Cons: Poor wifi Ran out of beer
Pros: The property has been restored to a very high standard
Cons: Whenever you need a member of staff they are never around . Also some of the waiting staff need to learn about " putting the customer first"
Pros: Beautiful location. Lovely facilities, helpful staff. Good excellent. All good!
Cons: Parking in hot sun!
Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had dinner there and the food was fine and the service good. A great location for art lovers wishing to visit Cezanne country especially mount Sainte Victoire which he frequently painted. The local natural beauty is amazing.
Cons: The rooms were a little tired and the local town was very quiet with very little open.
Cons: Shower facilities poir
Pros: The ambiance was excellent...Provence style.
Cons: The dinner and wine are too high prized comparing quality.
Located in Rousset, Garden & City Aix en Provence - Rousset is within a 15-minute drive of Sainte-Victoire Golf and Montagne Sainte-Victoire. Featured amenities include multilingual staff, laundry facilities, and an elevator (lift). Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Only unhappy that Payment was taken/blocked on 2 accounts & not refunded for a week.
Cons: Facilities & parking
Cons: bed was noisy when turning on it
Pros: It was normal and convenient.
Cons: Kitchenware was not good.
Pros: The appartment is located in an appart-hotel complex consisting of several buildings. The facility is located in the industrial zone of Rousset - but no noise impact was recognizable. Supermarket is 300m and bakery is 500m from the appartment - so we did not need to add breakfast, which is offered at additional cost. Friendly staff, parking in front of the appartment. The pool is highly welcome.
Cons: Appartment is arranged in 3 floors. Air condition is only installed in the room in the upper most floor. So only this room may be cooled down. For the rest of the appartment, the air condition is far too weak, when doors left open. So we had to open windows and get exposed to mosquitos. No restaurants in walking distance.
Cons: It is ridiculous that they ask you to book for having a breakfast Either they must include it in the price or not offer it at all I didn’t know I had to book it from the previous day, and next morning even if I said that I would pay for it the didn’t allow me to have it
Pros: IBiS Budget as usual. The spot is fine, looking over the port. At least our rooms were.
Cons: Small garage, lack of parking places. Despote having one reserved they just told it is not possible to reserve.
Cons: The floor was very dirty upon arrival. It was vacuum cleaned, but not clean.
Pros: The staff were very friendly. Room was excellent. THere is a grocery store within 200m to get food for the kitchenette. And HEY theres a pool!
Pros: Price corresponds to what they offer.
Cons: One toilet for villa with 3 double rooms is not enough.
Pros: The location
Cons: Pool advertised has not been working for a while. It also was the hottest week of the year so far.
