10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is such a quaint hotel. The owners are fab. The breakfast is amazing. The rooms are really quirky. Nice & clean. Have everything you need. A hifi with a selection of albums to use. A Dulce Gusto coffee machine. Will definitely be returning for a longer stay.
Cons: We couldn't pick up the WiFi, but not a huge problem. Phone signal is not brilliant but not end of the world.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place and lots to look at. Staff great and welcoming.
Cons: Some things were a little more shabby than shabby chic. Only one pack of biscuits in room and breakfast could have been bigger.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very spacious rooms, extremely friendly staff and food was delicious .
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place, bath was amazing, bed extra comfy. Owners very polite.
Cons: Nitpicking really, but would of loved some bubble bath in the rooms.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A really enchanted place for a romantic break. I loved the bath in the toilet and the hot tub access. Great breakfast too! The staff was really helpful, they let us check in a bit before and the woman who was preparing the breakfast was always willing to help!
Cons: Everything was just great, below are just a couple of feedbacks to improve it even further: It would be great to be able to use the hot tub after 9pm! Coffee machine (old one) and kettle were behind the Tv, not really handy to use! Plugs next to the bed would be handy. Lines would be good under the thin duvet as it was quite warm in the night. Also a bit weird there was not a toilette brush in a place where everything is so well organized :)
7.9 Good
Pros: Enchanting place
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Koala Cottage is just the loveliest place to stay with gorgeous accommodation and attention to detail. From the minute you arrive when Shona comes out to greet you, you are made to feel welcome and that nothing is too much trouble - advice on where to eat, where to visit , taxis anything you need - cannot recommend highly enough
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything else! Good central position. Friday Pie Night in Woods Kitchen - yummy
Cons: Validating my bank card with the full amount of money for stay 7 days prior to stay. This is the first time this has happened to me - it's usually £1 - £5 within the first few days of making a booking. Maybe it could be made clear within the booking policy of this particular establishment so those people who may struggle having that amount earmarked in the 'pending payments' are aware of it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable room (one of three at this guest house) which are classed as suites as they have a seating area and are comfortably larger than your average room with an outside space (all ground floor). Location of Godshill is very central and a lovely village. This host (Shona) was very nice and helpful with information about the island. Breakfast each day was great.
Cons: Nothing that we didn’t like.

Pros: Stuart & Linda made the week’s stay with my son really great. Very good breakfast, clean room. Location is excellent in picturesque Bonchurch. Would most definitely use Cornerways again.
Cons: Nothing, all excellent and good value
7.1 Good
Pros: The bed was cosy. The view was stunning. The breakfast was great. The decor was reflective of of the area. It was very nicely decorated.
Cons: The shower had no pressure and it took a while to get hot and there was minimal flow. Our host did warn us about the shower. We didn’t realise how high set the property was and when the bus dropped us at the bottom of the road we were worried. Thankfully a local man took us and our luggage in the car. We are in our 60’s so it was a hard walk up the hills. Some of the timber fixtures came out of the wall when we used them... toilet roll holder and curtain hook.
6.3 Good
Pros: Very quiet.
Cons: 20 minutes to the center.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were amazing! Made the stay even better

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Wight Mouse is set in a beautiful location, with amazing sea views. The room we had was lovely, huge , incredibly comfortable king size bed, with fantastic view across the sea and towards the Needles The Staff were amazing and a very special shout out to Katie and Debby who just couldn't do enough for us, Cheryl and Andy have a wonderful Team who work so very hard, but always have time for a chat or a smile. The food, Breakfast - a fantastic choice of everything from cereals, yoghurts, fruit, croissants, full English or a variation of if you so desire. The Restaurant offers and extensive selection of foods and this combined with the Specials Board caters for all appetites. Generous portions here certainly does not mean that the quality is any less. We ate in at The Wight Mouse 3 nights out of the 4 of our stay on the beautiful Island and each meal was as lovely as the next.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location, the friendly staff.
Cons: The room whilst comfortable and clean was very dated and tired and the bathroom looked in need of replacement, particularly the shower with its loud sound effects. The breakfast was enjoyable.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We couldn’t have been made more welcome. Wonderfully spacious accommodation, with all the comfort we could need, in a traditional country house overlooking the coast. Due to the geological location, there is only occasional mobile signal, and WiFi is better in some parts of the house than others, but we were told this in advance and it was not an issue. The hosts are lovely - attentive but not intrusive - and happy to share their extensive local knowledge to ensure you can make the most of your stay.
Cons: There was nothing we didn’t like.

Having stayed at eg Outrigger Reef On The Beach (Waikiki) the only beach hotel in Honolulu and Hilton Leblon (one of only two beach hotels in RIO - western end of Ipanema/Copacabana/Leblon) The St Augustines Villa is up there with the above as one of the best (beach is just across the road) AND costs were VERY reasonable No food provided. Winter Gardens a hundred yards away do a great and cheap breakfast also good for wine/beer to watch the sunset along the coast. Nearby SpyGlass pub Ventnor High St 2-300 yds away with shops etc and buses eg route 3 to Shanklin/Sandown/Ryde Newport Parking may be limited at busy times but in a worst case parking on Western Esplanade below hotel is £1 overnight tarrif 6pm to 10am - We never had any problems parking at the hotel at any time.
Cons: The room is basic ie no chest of drawers and no fridge BUT WE DIDNT NEED THEM so this is NOT a negative for us but I mention it because some may miss such items. We had coffee/tea facilities wardrobe - ALL the essentials for us. We were on top floor no lifts could be a problem for a disabled person although we did see disabled guests my partner with a walking stick managed it to top floor ok.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location right by the sea. Nice little seaside town. Parking available. Nice view from room.
Cons: Generally happy with everything. A small fridge would have been a bonus
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent. The Victorian building had a comfortable lounge with lots of interesting pictures, old books and many artefacts. The bedroom was tastefully furnished- our room overlooked the colourful gardens opposite as well as the sea. Bob and Esme were a lovely, friendly, welcoming couple.
Cons: Nothing to dislike.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing views across the sea with beautiful sunsets. Hotel has lots of history and full of old furniture and nicknacks. Nearest places to eat within walking distance
Cons: Parking very tight

7.1 Good
Pros: The sea view from the room was beautiful. The condition of the room, although clean, was a little worn, as was the hotel exterior. It could clearly do with a refresh. The price was high, a bit too high, especially out of high season.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic comfortable room with sea view, delicious breakfast and friendly staff.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The room had excellent views and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The food in the restaurant is absolutely exceptional. The bath with a view was absolutely cracking.
Cons: The espresso holder was stuck in and I suspect it needed a bit of a clean (this was done after asking). The shower was very slow to drain, requiring a bit of a stop/start shower (also mentioned to the staff but nothing seemingly was done as the problem remained - if something was attempted I’d have been happy enough but I didn’t know either way, which was disappointing). Finally, the WiFi was pretty slow (my partner had more of an issue with this, I couldn’t of cared less).
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was good and the location was perfect.
Cons: Parking was a bit difficult.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous food..really friendly staff and a very comfortable stay..lovely spacious room (5) huge bathroom and I could see the sea from the bed..which I loved!
Cons: Couldn’t understand why there were no other diners..the dinner was lovely and good value ! The other guests didn’t know what they were missing!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good menu choice for breakfasts
Cons: Bed seemed quite small and a larger bed would have improved the experience
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were lovely and breakfast was excellent. Bed was very comfortable, room was very spacious.
Cons: Bar was not very attractive, it looked a bit cold and unwelcoming.
6.3 Good
Pros: Bed was very comfortable

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Exceptional staff and presentation of rooms/facilities. If only I could pick the hotel up and take it with me wherever I go...
Cons: There is nothing not to like - apart from when you have to go home!

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location was great, room was fabulous, really clean and comfortable
Cons: The pool was closed due to windy weather, perhaps a discount or something extra should have been given? The pool was the reason why this hotel was chosen

7.1 Good
Pros: Large comfortable room. Excellent shower in bathroom.
Cons: There was no restaurant available in the evening. My evening meal is central to the enjoyment of my break. As the weather was poor (rain/wind) it was an inconvenience to venture out to find food.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Enchanting hotel in a beautiful location. Stunning gardens with quirky surprises around every corner. Room (12) had a wonderful sea view and was perfect. Beautiful terrace to enjoy a glass of bubbles or a cup of tea. Just loved it. Will definitely be back.
Cons: Absolutely nothing. Perfect!
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Pillow was nice. There was a window and a bathroom (even though small and very outdated). There was a bed (not king size for a superior room ?) . There was also paintings on the walls (of bad taste and not even hanging straight).
Cons: The owner was just a horrible person. We were celebrating our 3 year wedding anniversary with my wife and asked when we arrived for a late checkout (maximum 10 normally) and were told that was not a problem. Next morning I get the German owner knocking on my door like we were in prison at 9h45 am and asking to come in. I opened the door and he said we had 15 mins to be out. I said we had agreed late checkout and he just said not can't do and walked away. I let my wife do the checkout and left the place otherwise I think the owner would have remembered me for a very long time... And he treated her like a criminal and charging 30 quid for a quarter bottle of average champagne and 10 quid for some second hand flowers. He also said that the establishment was not five star. There is also a restaurant advertised which is a COMPLETE LIE. You have to walk into down and go down to a bistro... And they stop serving at 9pm. Also this is not a beachfront property as advertised. Basically this is not a hotel, clearly the people running it have no idea how to run a hotel. This is just renting a room in someone's house . And for that price it is a complete Rip off. I have been to MANY hotels in my life and clearly this is one of the worst experiences I have ever had . I HIGHLY ADVISE YOU DO NOT STAY THERE.

Cons: Room a touch small

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nicest lady in the world.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and lovely
Cons: House keeping should be everyday But they didnt clean the rooms
4.2 Okay
Pros: She tries hard.
Cons: The room smells and you can hear all the steps in the house. The lady asked us to have breakfast at 8.15 sharp. When we asked if there was a time window it was a b&b and not a hotel... But most of all, we made an arrangement with her and she did not hold on to her end. Location of breakfast is in her own home and there is no separate chill area. Location is far from anything nice. Very bad experience
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Val made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived! It was a perfect and peaceful location for my children and our dog. If you are looking to stay on the Isle of Wight then this is the place to go!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The continental breakfasts were varied and plentiful. The rooms were clean and very comfortable The hosts were welcoming and very friendly, giving good suggestions of places to visit. St Lawrence is a cul-de-sac and very peaceful.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beds very comfy, hosts were excellent company and couldn’t do enough for you. Nothing was too much trouble and we were given daily weather news and island tips from Val and Rob, they also made sure our fussy eater daughter had plenty that she liked every morning. Poached eggs a specialty!
Cons: Nothing!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Valerie and Rob are excellent hosts. They make you feel most welcome and are happy to share their lovely home with you. Almost felt like we were part of the family. Very comfy bed. Although we only expected continental breakfast we were also offered selection of eggs as well as toast. we were also encouraged to make up rolls and take fruit for lunch.A wonderful sea view at breakfast too.
Cons: Didn’t like leaving. Had a great time
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Valerie and her partner are the best hosts ever. Extremely friendly and lovely, they make you feel at home
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Our lovely hosts went all out to make our stay fabulous. As others have said the breakfast was five star. We went with three children aged 11-13 who all loved it too. Beautiful location with stunning views and lovely cove about 15 mins walk. Post office a few mins away that sold anything you might need. Our dog was made welcome too. Parking easy. Lots of pubs to eat and and drink at within a few miles. We visited the beach at Ventnor for the day and Blackgang Chine for the day. Both easy drives. Local taxi drivers at Charlie’s Taxis were great and very friendly / knowledgeable.
Cons: The only downside is that we needed to drive or get a taxi to go out to eat / sightsee. Ventnor is only just over two miles away but not really walking distance with all your bags for a day at the beach. If you want to drink alcohol while out for dinner it’s around £25 round trip in a taxi to Niton or Shale (this was a seven seater as five of us). This really wasn’t a big problem for us but obviously does add to the cost of your stay.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Valerie was extremely attentive to our needs. The room was spacious and comfortable.
Cons: Accommodation not en suite

3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Location was good
Cons: We booked a ‘deluxe room with bath’ and received a room that could be best described as an ‘economy’ single size room. There was no bath and in fact the bathroom was so small it was challenging to enter and shut the door. Shower was so narrow that my boyfriend’s shoulders touched either side. When we first arrived we thought it was a simple matter of being allocated the wrong room. When we raised this to the manager they simply said it was the room their computer said we were allocated and there was nothing they could do. They said we received the room we booked on line and were rude and dismissive of us when we tried to show them details of our booking and what we were expecting. The manager was also observed drinking at the bar downstairs in the evening which was concerning given he was the only staff on duty responsible for the safety of the customers. The room and bathroom were not clean which was made worse by the fact there was no daily turn down service so every day we returned to a messy room with bed unmade.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, very good breakfast, had bags carried up stairs.its the little things that matter.
Cons: Not a thing
7.9 Good
Pros: Central location friendly staff

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely breakfast and a brilliant location, close to everything.
Cons: Nothing, everything was excellent.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Crisp clean decor, friendly welcome, good breakfast, good lager
Cons: In eaves so ceilings low in parts
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I really liked the location of the venue, and going into the cafe for breakfast in the morning was really nice! Great atmosphere
Cons: the wifi was the only issue, it didn't really work at all...but did not ruin my time there.
6.7 Good
Pros: Good location and lovely breakfast.
Cons: I booked a deluxe room and when I arrived it had been re booked by someone else. The room I ended up with was very small.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Right in town, walk to everything, welcoming atmosphere and bar. Bathroom space a bit limited, but great water pressure and a lovely bath. I stayed on top floor and had a nice view over the town rooftops and out to a sea view.
3.5 Mediocre
Pros: Fine. In an establishment a few doors along from No. 24, use of a voucher. Good quality breakfast.
Cons: Hotel - almost everything could have been better. Contact Meghan, your representative who dealt with the complaint we made when we eventually got back to our home address a couple or so weeks later.
6.0 Good
Pros: Excellent location. Stunning view from the room and the balcony. Friendly staff and good breakfast.
6.0 Good
Pros: Very nice hotel, great location, great sea view, nice big room, lovely food.
6.0 Good
Pros: Attractive and spacious room with a splendid sea view. The facilities and service seemed to accord with the principle of 'comfortable minimalism'.
Cons: Menu was the same each evening.
6.0 Good
Pros: perfect view, spacious room (super deluxe), dinner and breakfasts good
Cons: parking was available as it was low season; a worry in high season.
6.3 Good
Pros: I can only say that for 20 punds less I booked far better hotels in London. The hotel is very good but the room should have costed around £100. The room didn't feel like a deluxe. The hotel has no parking. That was a bit of nightmare, considering the location. I liked the fact it is near lots of restaurants. The staff was corteous but impersonal.
6.4 Good
Pros: clean and tidy wonderful views
Cons: parking problems, the long steep climb too and from the beach
7.2 Good
Pros: great location, friendly staff
Cons: poor parking
6.0 Good
Pros: The warmth and friendliness of the staff; the excellent variety of foods available for breakfasts; the sea views; and open-air terrace dining area.
Cons: See 1. above.
3.2 Mediocre
Pros: the view was lovely and the patio area was relaxing and the staff were friendly.
Cons: The prices were far to high for the service we recieved, and that includes the food. There were no porters to help with the luggage, and the room in which we stayed in had no balcony yet those who did were charged less than us and that they seem to charge what they wanted to with no set tarriff ??? also we noticed that in the room there was no tea making facilities and they charged £2.50 for room service All in all we felt that we would have got better value elsewhere. The british just like the home from home comforts and we feel it would be good if they sat around a table and asked what they realy like in a holiday. There were other guests there who felt the same as us.
6.8 Good
Pros: View from balcony, service and ambience
Cons: There were no facilities for making a cup of tea in the room
