everything in the room you could want, felt luxurious we did not realise the prices of food and drink, our fault for not checking first,it was lovely, but a shock
The only hotel I have ever stayed at where there is nothing at all negative to report. Nothing.
It was quiet and comfortable and the staff were helpful The food was excellent. The flow of hot water in the bath was so slow that it was not possible to have a bath at all. The car parking facilities are inadequate for a hotel of this price.
Room and decor well done. Service at the evening meal was erratic and the sommelier poor.... we were left waiting for our wine.
Friendly and helpful staff, very comfortable well appointed room with great views, fantastic food. Would definitely return.
Pleasant helpful staff, tasteful decor and overall high level of cleanliness
Quiet situation, in front of the sea. Elegant en refurbished rooms. Lovely food. Too beautiful hotel for this resort with not very interesting buildings, shops etc. and thus to expensive to stay in this place. The website of the hotel suggests an isolated beautiful situation, which is not the case.
Justin and Joe Had to ask twice about a light-bulb, and twice about milk. Would have paid more for a room with a bath but didn't know the room did not have one.
Very very helpful staff, lovely room, outstanding views. I would recomend the hotel to anyone. Sadly the main hotel restaraunt is not open on Tuesdays - the alternative was excellent but not up to the very high standard of the hotel. Guess I will just have to go back another time....(which will not be a hardship)
Room was nicely decorated and very clean. Bathroom was spacious w/heated floor! We had a balcony room - view was gorgeous. Restaurant was first class. I liked everything.
the hotel was quiet and therefore fantastic for a relaxing holiday I think that the cooked breakfast should have been on a bigger plate with more food especially for the price that was paid
Sea View Small toilet area
My stay at the Windsor Carlton Hotel was very enjoyable. The room was lovely and so was the food, staff and Owners. Will definately return.
Excellent variety of breakfasts nice seaview convenient & peaceful cheerful, helpful waitress Minute shower plastic covers on breakfast room chairs
The hotel has a fantastic position overlooking the the sea. It is kept to a high standard and is very welcoming. The breakfast selection is excellent and is cooked to order to a very high standard indeed. I marked the cleanliness down because I was expected to use the same bath towel for two days!!! When I arrived I proceeded to have a shower after my night out I had another shower, in the morning I placed the towel on the floor as it was dirty before I lefted my room. When I returned my room had been cleaned to a high standard however they had just picked the same dirty towel off the floor and hung it back on the door. I could not bring this to the attention of the of owners at this time as it was in the early hours of the morning as I had just attented a wedding that day, so I was expected to use the same towel I had use twice previously which is totally disgusting in my eyes.
The hotel has a pleasant atmosphere and attentive service.
Realisation Poor mangement
The staff were very jovial, attentive and relaxed. The room was spotless and comfortable and the new and very clean bathroom topped it off.
Lovely room vith view. Very good value for money
room and facilities nothing
Reserving tables in restaurant for breakfast should be first come first served. Room was very noisy from above
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel is situated close to the sea front.
Room was rather small
we went for some peace and quiet and that's exactly what we got, it would have been nice if there was room service though, but otherwise a very enjoyable trip and location, the staff were lovely and very helpfull. would have been nice not to have to book evening meal at breakfast as you dont allways know what you will be doing.
A lovely comfortable bed and plenty of hot water for a shower. Carpet in the bathroom, which could be unhygenic.
Really nice hotel , the bedrooms we stayed in have recently been renovated to a high standard (huge and excellent bed, lovely bath). Lovely family running the hotel and taking the time to provide us with useful information about the restaurants around and the walks in the area. We will return to the hotel and would recommend it for a short break. The only downside was the breakfast which could have been a little bit more "waouh'.
I can only say that for 20 punds less I booked far better hotels in London. The hotel is very good but the room should have costed around £100. The room didn't feel like a deluxe. The hotel has no parking. That was a bit of nightmare, considering the location. I liked the fact it is near lots of restaurants. The staff was corteous but impersonal.
the view was lovely and the patio area was relaxing and the staff were friendly. The prices were far to high for the service we recieved, and that includes the food. There were no porters to help with the luggage, and the room in which we stayed in had no balcony yet those who did were charged less than us and that they seem to charge what they wanted to with no set tarriff ??? also we noticed that in the room there was no tea making facilities and they charged £2.50 for room service All in all we felt that we would have got better value elsewhere. The british just like the home from home comforts and we feel it would be good if they sat around a table and asked what they realy like in a holiday. There were other guests there who felt the same as us.
Attractive and spacious room with a splendid sea view. The facilities and service seemed to accord with the principle of 'comfortable minimalism'. Menu was the same each evening.
clean and tidy wonderful views parking problems, the long steep climb too and from the beach
perfect view, spacious room (super deluxe), dinner and breakfasts good parking was available as it was low season; a worry in high season.
View from balcony, service and ambience There were no facilities for making a cup of tea in the room
Very nice hotel, great location, great sea view, nice big room, lovely food.
Excellent location. Stunning view from the room and the balcony. Friendly staff and good breakfast.
great location, friendly staff poor parking
The warmth and friendliness of the staff; the excellent variety of foods available for breakfasts; the sea views; and open-air terrace dining area. See 1. above.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a great position, but it is a little tired. It didn't bother us but might not suit some of our 'style counsellor' friends, though I'd recommend it to most
The views and the general ambience
the staff was very friendly and helpful, i enjoyed my stay in there
Friendly and Helpful Management & Staff. Evening meal excellent at restaurant.
Friendly atmosphere, excellent views, good food.
The overall feeling of welcome and friendliness from the proprietors. Very like staying in their personal home! A relaxing, artistic and creative environment. There was an unpleasant odour coming from the en-suite bathroom.(Room 10) Sadly, the breakfast chef ran out of supplies and provided a basic service.
Excellent setting and location very comfortable and close to town centre
Excellent hospitality.Very relaxing. None.
This hotel was set in Shanklin's old village, very near to many pubs and eateries. Beautiful house and garden and a short walk from the town and the beach. The staff were very friendly and relaxed and always very keen to help. We will definitely go back there again as it was the most relaxing environment and we were very lucky to have the Sun shining all weekend. Loved it!
Relaxed atmosphere with pleasant staff
Good hotel, nice people and service No evening meal
Loved the gentle ambiance and the understated but more than adequate service level. The hotel has the quaint charm of a more disceet bygone era. The room was spacious and clean with an excellent shower and staff were all friendly and professional. Breakfast was great, freshly cooked to order despite only 2 residents - highly commended! I was a little disappointed that upon my late(ish) arrival (8.30pm), which had been notified at time of booking, I was unable to obtain a sandwich or light snack. Additionally, the furniture in the room didn't lend itself to the business visitor (no desk or table) - I'm also not clear as to wheteher WiFi was available and on another day this may have been an issue.
view and grounds and local to town and sea
Room, location, atmosphere cleanliness and service were all very satisfactory.
Hotel of character, very good room , very clean no dining room , but good local restaurants
