Friendly staff fabulous breakfast beautifull rooms
Possible to rent bike at the hotel. Frindly reception Only liquid soap.
The hotel is well situated near to the coast. It is comfortable with a good breakfast in a nice room. Vrouwenpolder, Veere, and Middleburg are attractive and interesting places to visit.
+ very nice breakfast, clean rooms, very nice renovated, friendly staff
Clean, modern, charming and spacious rooms. Superb bed and very friendly staff. Simple but great breakfast. It's a bit desolated, but you can walk in 5-10 min to Vrouwenpolder...
Self contained and relatively quiet. Sun terrace outside room was welcome. Very clean and comfortable. First impression of Hotel was good, but first impression of room was disappointing - in need of external freshening up. Furniture fairly rudimentary - but probably ok for a beach style hotel.
Great. Nice location, good restaurant for diner and breakfast.
Very good location: quiet and close to the beach, great playground, children loved it!
we loved the access to the hotel room and also the environment
Access to the beach, food served in the restaurant, value for money
We were given a room with a view over the fields, very calm, including a balcony, and the best thing was that the beach was only a stone-throw away. The room could only be reached via an outside stairway which might be inconvenient in case of rain.
1) Location is excellent - just next to the beach and very well developed network of bicycle tracks. 2) Very nice breakfasts with plenty of food 3) Very friendly (and English speaking) staff 4) Food in the restaurant is very tasty. 1) Price seems to bi quite high comparing the size of the room - app. 20E less for a room a shall be enough... 2) you have to wait for ages to get your evening meal in the restaurant if you seat outdoors - choose table inside!
Close proximity to beach and facilities
Great breakfast and friendly atmosphere
The room very nicely furnished. Good restaurant. Friendly service. very steep steps, it is difficult to lift a heavy suitcase
The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was very good. Apart from the church bells it was not too noisy. We asked for 1 double room and 1 twin, but got 2 doubles. In the event this did not matter but could have caused some embarrassment. We asked for non-smoking. There were no ash trays but the pillows smelled of tobacco smoke. Otherwise the hotel was clean and friendly.
It was a really pleasant place to stay. The staff were lovely, really helpful, it was clean and breakfast was good.
the staff was easy going and flexible the fact that our room wasn't ready at the time of arrival, so we had to wait. they asked us if we wanted to drink something. we ordered two cups of coffee. when paying the bill the next day, they charged us the coffee.
The owners and the staff are very involved in the running of the Hotel. The Kitchen is superb, local produce and nice presentation. The location and surroundings are beautiful, the beach is great. Breakfast is personally served and verry rich. Free internet is always a great plus in my books!
Really nice and cosy hotel. In a tiny little village in the polder, not far from the sea. Nicely decorated room, great breakfast, helpful and welcoming people. There is no hairdryer in the bathroom, but it is just a detail. Breakfast is only served from 9:00: for us it was not a problem, but be aware of it.
Staff all spoke excellent English and were extremely friendly & helpful.
a most welcoming and comfortable hotel, well appointed and boasting a superb menu.I would strongly recommend this hotel to young and old alike.
The spacy/roomy setup, modern design, cosy diningroom, service in restaurant. Traffic noise, indoorswimmingpool a little small.
spaceous room at a fantastic location booked an apartment but disappointed to find that there's a kitchen without the necessary tools and inventory to make the stay complete as expected.couldnt even make our own breakfast if we wanted....
Hotel with Natural Allure, Spacious and comfortable room, Very pleasant! For the amount of stars this hotel has, the following services should be included :Wellness open at noon? too late! Should be open same time as breakfast. No wastebasket in room.No DVD & pay (new)movies?
Great Hotel in convenient location, very modern rooms and interiors and not the often antiquatet dutch style, nice experience
Geographical situation, wellness center, personnel friendliness, decoration & equipment, spacious room and common areas Room could have been better prepared (1 child bed was not made), there was a little bit of dust and not enough towels for 4. Building architecture is not extremely appealing from the outside. This does not constitute a complaint, just remarks.
Very friendly , confortable hotel with good selection of food.
New hotel with a particular design! I forgot something in the cabinet of my room, and after phoning, nobody even phoned me back to tell me if they found or not what I forgot!I definitely think that for a four star hotel it's more than cheap!!!!
We liked breakfast time, beds were comfortable. Nobody to help with the luggage on check in. Strange smell of carpets in corridors and no service of food or drink after 11pm.
The rooms, very big and nice decorated. The location near by the center of Middelburg. Ideal location to cycle to other cities and villages. N/A
Excellent location for day trips with the car. Good and modern design of lobby and rooms. Quality of breakfast not matching standards of other hotels in this price category. Fair comments difficult because hotel relatively new and not everything ready (e.g. internet facilities)
We had the chance to be one of the first guests in the room, which added extra value to our stay. Everything was perfect, nice modern design... just the bathroom was an amazing experience! The breakfast buffet was rich and with a lot of choice. If any the location: in a newly built area close to a busy road (no noise disturbed us during the night) but still very close to the centre of Middelburg (10 minutes by bike).
Very pleasent staff all of whom spoke a number of differnt languages. They all seemed genuinely friendly to me and other guests
Closeness to the shore / parking facilities / natural environment / nice building and airy look inside / wonderful breakfast buffet
Quality food, spacious rooms with balcony, quiet setting, friendly dining staff I think the comment about lumpy pilows was probably fair!
Location and friendly atmosphere Instead of offering 10% discount for eating in the restaurant, it may be a better idea to offer a free drink on the house in the bar to encourage people to have another drink and perhaps stay on to eat in the restaurant.
Perfect localisation, very good and nice service. This was our second stay in Bos en Duin hotel and for sure not the last.
Very welcoming and helpful staff. We liked the buffet breakfast. I know that the hotel mostly has Dutch and Germans staying, but it would be helpful to other nationalities if the menu was also in English.
Everything in this hotel was good - we had a very good time. The ventilation in the bathroom could be better but the rest was perfect. The only negative point was the ventilation in the bathroom but the receptionist promissed to have it checked and also apologised for the inconvenience - definitely a place to go back to.
more than a positive surprise, excelent food ,and a helpful staff
Parking Place, location. 1. Bathroom was very small and without bath tub. 2. We asked the receptionist if we could have a bowl and a spoon in the room. She told us that she was not sure as she is not responsible for the kitchen stuff and we must personally pick ask the Restaurant people and pick up our self. Our expectation was that she would arrange a bowl and a spoon for us and bring us in the room. :-(((
We stayed in one of the two luxury suites, and liked the large size of the bathroom, the swirl bath and the comfort of the bed. The attached verandah was also very welcome, as was the general tranquility of the area. We found the staff both attentive and friendly. We felt that the choices for evening meal were somewhat limited and overpriced, though the quality of the food was good. In the room, we would have liked there to have been a box of tissues available to complement the other toiletries provided.
The weather was not great, so the particularly good restaurant was appreciated, given that the hotel was a good walk from the city centre. We have been used, when using booking.com, to being given one of the better rooms in the price range, at least for our first stay, and possibly because of this feedback feature. That was not the case this time. Our room was adequate, but a bit small, and located too close to the lobby, thus a bit noisy.
friendly staff, good breakfast Ugly building
Comfortable beds, friendly staff shower room small and poorly ventilented
close to town. excellent value for money and you would n ot go hungry with the breakfast no
Very, very long service at the restaurant... far too long actually Problem that rasor plug didn't work in the room. I think when that happens you should propose a slight reduction as it is not great shaving in the bedroom
friendly helpful staff menu was a little limited for a long stay and only in dutch
Very friendly hotel staff. Good breakfast.
Poorly trained restaurant staff. Basic level of room furnishing for a 4 star establishment.
the staff was very friendly and helpful. the complimentary breakfasts were delicious.the room was kept clean. no air conditioning. no bathtub, just a shower. no pool.
Nice location, close to the beach (as for the "main house"), very green and calm area. Private rooms do not correspond to a 3 stars hotel (on the contrary, the main house seems to have rooms of this category)
Nice and quiet room, friendly staff. Breakfast a little too early.
Birdsong in a quiet location. The website desciption is inaccurate. The hotel is much further from the beach than indicated (25 rather than 5 mins) and the restaurant only produced breakfast.working. There is private parking.
The atmosphere and setting is wonderful plus the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We booked for this week to coincide with the Jazz Festival which was a perfect spot to combine that plus walking. Would make a great place to stay at any time of the year if you like to walk along the beach and/or forest plus some very pretty villages nearby. A full-length mirror in the bedroom would have been appreciated!
Nice garden and relax atmosphere.
Very nice place with lovely garden. Guestouders taking care for their guests. Nearby the sea, place to relax in the middle of the forest.
Quite, excellent located near the beach, friendly personal,. Room not very comfortable, old fashioned.
Price for pets is high
Price and good quality for money. The breakfast, even though we had to rush, because they started to remove it very early. The location: it was a pure nightmare to find it. Addresse on the gps did not not match.
de ligging de zon iets te vroeg van het terras verdween
Good location, staff is kind and rooms are quite spacious. Free bikes for hire. Relatively fair value for money. Many rooms face the big parking lot. Particularly annoying especially if room is located on the ground floor. Furniture a little cheap for a four-star.
We liked the large room, and excellent bathroom, and found it very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed our one night here. Breakfast was also especially good and plentiful. On arrival, we passed this hotel twice, for it is actually called fletcher duin hotel burgh HAAMSTEDE,and we thpught that there must be another one in the area without the duin in the name.
-it was nice that we could hire bikes at the hotel to get around. The room and bathroom were quite spaceous and we had a quiet stay. Brakefast and dinner were very nice. it seemed that there was not enough staff, it was always waiting at reception until somebody came.
Good size rooms, friendly staff Paying high price for Wifi
the hotel was very good but not quite 4 stars; very good resaturant; spacious rooms ideal if you have a big dig with you; all rooms have sitting area a bit spartan for 4 stars (no fridges or tea/coffee facilities and an ancient hairdryer)
Good location but a bit pricey
The central location and the friendliness and helpfulness of the young staff. My bed had crumbs on the box-spring from a previous occupant. The hallways are dimly lighted. Everything could use a fresh coat of light paint.
The personnel was very nice and friendly The carpet of the room was not cleaned at all during our stay.
Friendly staff. Good place to visit the city of Middelburg and the area of Zeeland.
Excellent, helpful and friendly staff. Good position but rooms a little tired.
We stayed at the Hotel De Nieuwe Doelen while attending a family reunion in Middelburg. The staff was very accommodating, the rooms were clean, and the breakfasts were excellent. The location very close to the train station made for easy access to Amsterdam, Schiphol, and other cities. The only minor quibble I had with the room was the lack of soundproofing. I could hear any noises made outside my room quite clearly, but most guests were considerate in this regard.
The friendliness of the staff Nothing
The location. It was quite dusty and the sheets were not really clean.
Very pleasant courtyard garden to have breakfast in
Convenience. Breakfast included. Elevator. Daily cleaning was inadequte. General level of service was indifferent.
The rooms are very small and old furnished. They do not correspond to the pictures shown on the web site. Too expensive for the facilities provided.
otustanding staff dedication and friendlyness pity there was no tea / coffee in room
The location was excellent and the hotel full of character. The stairs were very steep and a problem for anyone with walking difficulties but the staff did assist with the luggage.
Good location in the beautiful Veere Moderate cleanliness of the room, extremely noisy breakfast room, no possibility of having diner inside the restaurant, no airco in a deluxe room, poor sound isolation.
The town of Veere is quite pretty. The service was minimal (no room service). The staff was not friendly (diificult to get our baby's bottle filled with milk which they charged us for) and there was not enough food for all the guests for breakfast.
the entire atmosphere, cosy, clean, elegant. Nice people, warm welcome. Excellent breakfast, excellent restaurant.
A lovely hotel in a lovely place, will visit again.
The hotel staff were very professional and pleasant. The restaurant was sophisticated and friendly. The town of Veere is a gem.
pleasent staff and good english language
The environment, a very good restaurant and the sphere was exellent
We were less than a minute walk to the beach. Could walk or ride a bike along the path on the dunes for many kms. Very good breakfast, nice comfortable modern decor. Very clean. Nice kitchenette. Very well laid out space. There should be more than one venting window in the room as it was stuffy in the night. Also a fan in the bathroom would be good if they don't have a venting window in the bathroom.
privacy with ability to utilize the hotel accomadations easily leaving
Hotel is very close to the beach. Room was more like a small appartment; coking facility, fridge, table 2 chairs and chouch(?)at one end, bed(2p) on the onther end of the room, very nice.
very friendly, simple but really good
The fantastic location so close to the see
the room was very small, poorly furnished and there was a dip in the floor where the floor boards were damaged
the room is ok and comfortable. the wall between the rooms are so thin. the TV did not work well because it is old.
The hotel is in a beautiful setting. Our room overlooked the river. It was clean and comfortable. The staff were efficient and very welcoming. An extra bed in the room making use of the mirror and access to use my hairdryer difficult.
Nicely located on the border of the city center. Completely outdated rooms, unclear emergency exits, an elevator that is too small and a cramped breakfast room.
Nice location. A luxury room was reserved, but it's definitely not worth the money. The luxury room is certainly not worth its money.
location room extremely small
The location was convenient and the breakfast was outstanding! There is a pleasant outside patio with a lovely indoor seating area with an adequate bar. My room was rather small and the bathroom light did now work. Wireless is not free which is, of course, rather crooked. And in general the place feels quite cramped, especially when it comes to the thin spiral stair which I saw too many elderly guests climbing becaust the elevator seemed old and slow, and was also quite cramped. But to be fair, the majority of the disadvantages of this hotel are due to design issues beyond the control of the current staff. And for the price paid the hotel was very reasonable.
The location which enabled us to visit with family members easily and also enabled easy access to and from the railway station. The staff were totally un-concerned that we had flown all night and would have liked a little earlier check-in time. 3pm and no allowance for any change. The room had walls so thin we could hear people snore and pass wind in the rooms beside us, not to mention every word of their conversations [we whispered to avoid them hearing us!]. The bed was so worn that we rolled into the middle. Aside from that, the breakfast is always generous and good and although the hotel requires a major update, it is clean.
Breakfast was something to look forward to. the hotel (rooms) needs serious maintenance; are very out-dated.
Nice old hotel - great location - friendly people
