Pros: Clean, well equipped, good wifi connection, massage chairs free of charge, delicious dinner & breakfast.
Pros: The guesthouse is located on a steep slope, on the roadside. Due to this location, it is built on a steep slope, which means that to enter, you have to climb many steps. Inside they have no elevator: even more steeper steps :) I do not recommend it to those without good physical condition. Maybe that's why they have a foot massage device on the 1st floor. If you get there ... The room is Ok-ish, pretty small. It's great that they have a balcony. Friendly staff, food not great but not bad.
Cons: Needs an elevator. Badly. In September it could be warmer inside the room. The wifi is spotty and the software they are using to issue the invoices can be better.
Pros: The personal is very kind and the view is amazing. It is very close to the old ski lift.

Cons: the wifi signal in our room was very low
Pros: Everything! A really nice place and comfortable with Beautiful people!
Pros: It is a great place, clean and cozy, and the staff is very nice and friendly!
Cons: Nothing. Everything was fine!
Pros: Nice rooms and equipment (kitchen, living room). Very helpful owner.

Pros: Friendly staff, great soroundings and facilities
Pros: Very friendly staff. The meals offered by the restaurant were very good. Good place to relax. Nice surroundings.
Cons: Extra beds for children were folding beds. Not the best starting point for day hikes in the Retezat mountains.
Pros: We are very pleased with our stay at the hotel. There are several negatives I will mention, BUT the hotel has excellent price-quality ratio. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. When closed the windows provided good isolation from any outside noise , they have mosquito nets as well.the personnel were extremely polite, friendly and accommodating. The food prepared there is great and at very affordable prices. The pool is big, well-maintained and not crowded at all. There is parking for the cars inside and gates are closed at night. There is also plenty of space outside for more cars. We had a smart TV in our room and we used it to watch movies we had on a flash drive.
Cons: As a negative, it was a bit too warm in the room at night (there is no air conditioning) and bathroom mixers could use a replacement – they are noisy and leaking.
Cons: The only thing is that a microwave would be good in the kitchen
Pros: This place definitely worth the money we've paid for. Very clean, comfy beds, nearby parking. Restaurants close by.
Cons: We've booked a room with double bed, but didn't receive one. It was possible to put the beds together, but they were no aligned to be a double bed.
Pros: Good place to stay, had a backyard where I could park the bike, inside it was nice and clean with good facilities.
Pros: Big room, cleanliness, comfortable
Cons: Sofa bed not big enough for my youngest child.
Pros: Clean, nice, close to everything...
Located just 10 km from Petrosani, Hotel Rusu features free WiFi and offers free access to a wellness area with a hot tub and dry and wet saunas. All rooms at Rusu Hotel have private bathrooms with either a shower or a bathtub. Every room is equipped with a flat-screen satellite TV, minibar and telephone, and some enjoy a balcony. Guests can enjoy the views of the Jiu Valley and the Retazat Mountains from the breakfast room, or visit the on-site restaurant for a tasty Romanian dish. Snacks and hot beverages can be enjoyed right next to the ski slope. Further facilities include a shared lounge and a football field.
Pros: The location is good if you're in transit and you want a place near the Transalpina road. I would only recommend it for a night if you're in transit and you cannot find another place to stay.
Cons: I did not like the staff, they did not have a proper attitude towards the clients, the food in the restaurant was one of the worse I have ever tried, the breakfast also was not good. I do not recommend it for a holiday trip, we only stayed one night because we were in transit and it was more than enough.
Pros: Very good value for money
Pros: Great view from the balcony
Cons: Small room, the rug was damaged, the balcony was in a bad shape.
Pros: Great location and close to the teleski. Clean and warm rooms. Good food at the restaurant.
Cons: The fact the the spa was closed, during the week, earlier then we were told at the reception. Big disklike there.
Pros: Spent one night here with motorcycle. Wonderful location and great staff. Nice and clean rooms, amazing view from the balcony, delicious and typical food in the restaurant, breakfast rich in variety. Can only be recommended, of course also for longer stays!
Pros: Reception lady on check in was so nice, the waiter who served us in the lounge with certainly the best meal in 20 days of touring Europe, he and the food were outstanding. There the praise stops as the rest was just awful.
Cons: We understood that 2 coach loads of youngsters were taking over a large proportion of the hotel, they were well behaved and no trouble. We were given a balcony room, it was awful with the exception of the spotless bedding and nice refurbished bathroom. We did not like the balcony flower baskets to be full of several kinds of cigarette ends. We did not like the bedside lamp to be located at the foot end of the bed. It appeared the room was used as a dormitory it MOST CERTAINLY was not the norm one would expect for this type of hotel. Cigarette burns on the carpets, stains everywhere, it was awful throughout. I am submitting photos in order that something may be done to prevent fellow travellers suffering as we did. Dinner was a high point, breakfast was almost non existent, no juice, no fresh fruit, no sign of eggs etc, I feel that prisoners would enjoy a better meal! It would serve both future guests and the hotel owners if some of the revenue was put towards maintenance, the wood work is devoid of protection and winter is just around the corner. I do not think anyone at Rusu cares!
Pros: The view really was magnificent and the food at the hotel really tasty.
Cons: We weren't announced beforehand, but Hotel Rusu didn't have any rooms so they moved us to a bedroom in a villa, Bujor de Munte, comfy, but not worth the price for the facilities offered. We put up with it because we couldn't find another place to stay on such short notice, but we were certainly not pleased with how things went.
Pros: The location
Cons: No wi-fi, uncomfortable bed

Cons: The smelly bathroom and the uncomfortable mattress
Cons: no delivery in front if hotel, but finally we managed
Pros: The host waited for us even if we arrived late. There is wifi. Room was clean and warm in the night, bathroom was clean.
Cons: I didn't like that they do not accept payment by card, only cash, even though the ad says that they do. I called them on the phone and they said only cash. The access road to Straja resort is asphalt which is good, however the road to the pension is poor especially when it rains, but it is a short distance. Tv is an old small crt.
Pros: Good place. I had an AC in the room, during the hot days.
Cons: The price is way too high for this hotel, i mean i couldn’t even close the damn window and i had to listen the cars who we’re passing outside.
Pros: Location. Friendly staff.
Cons: Poor quality equipment in the room.
Pros: This place is amazing considering the price. Great location, nice and clean room and a great bathroom. Would definitely come again.
Cons: The breakfast options could be a bit more diverse as well as higher quality.
Pros: Everything else :)
Cons: Parking was not enough

The Transalpina ski resort is 15 km away, while the Letului Mountain is 2 km from the property.
Pros: location was ok, but the road it's not at all
Cons: duble bed from room 3 must be repair
Pros: The location is awsome. Right in the middle of the forest, no wifi, no cellular, you can forget you have a phone. There is a river just acorss the road, you can enjoy the sound of it mixed with the sound of the woods when you sit back an enjoy some wine in the terrace or the balcony. Enjoy the nature.
Cons: The power outlets from our room didn’t work.
Pros: When you arrive you are greeted by a sweet and friendly guard dog that doesn't really know he's 90 kg ,he just want to befriend any living creature , to be honest . The view around the area is stunning , it's nothing but you and the forest for miles . Also you can leave your smartphone home because there is no phone signal or wifi . The sky slope it's pretty near, at a 15-20 min drive from the cabin if you are into winter sports. They have a restaurant and they serve drink and food but you can bring your own if you want .
Cons: Just a friendly warning , the area around the "ciubar"(heated pool) it can get pretty icy and you can easily get injured if you're not careful or if you had a few too many drinks.
Pros: Really helpful and friendly owners.
Pros: Very warm, cozy place. Everything was clean, staff always nice. Prices were pretty low. Food was really good. Pretty close to the Transalpina ski resort (driving distance). Took us 30 minutes to reach it, but the weather was in very poor condition, the road was covered in snow. Overall, a really pleasant stay.
Cons: No power outlets in some rooms. Only one light switch, for both bathroom and the room. No internet connection or phone signal from any provider (but we cannot complain about that, since we knew from the beginning about this).
Pros: Worm an cossy. Nice dog. Nice position for hiking up the mountain.
Cons: To much water in the bathroom
Pros: I'll be honest, when I looked for places to stay near Transalpina Ski Resort, this was the only one close enough that had free rooms and I was a bit skeptical because of the "not-so-great" review score. I decided to give it a try anyway and I'm am so happy we did that! People are extremely nice, food is delicious - breakfast could be better with some fruits or veggies but lunch and dinner were just yumm! The rooms are super cozy and warm and there is free private parking on site. Dog lovers, there is a playful Saint Bernard called Ben on the premises, we had so much fun with him. Also, if you have pets, the place is pet friendly so you can bring your furry friends with you! We had no phone service and there is no wi-fi at the property but man, that felt good! However, if you're way too attached to your phone and you cannot leave it for a few hours I guess this is not the place for you :) All in one, we'll be back for sure!
Cons: There isn't anything that we did not like, just details, stuff we think could be improve, such as: - better breakfast with some fresh fruits or vegetables; - there is a sauna and a thermal bath outside but they weren't opened, don't know why; - maybe some shower gel / shampoo in the rooms; - maybe a TV in the room, it could work out well in the evenings when there's no signal
Pros: It is very hard to rate objectively Groapa Seaca. We are returning here for the atmosphere, for the surroundings, for the feeling of staying in a chalet that is very well situated for several hiking trails. It is not about the room itself, but for the overall experience. Rooms are very different one from each other, but they are clean and well maintained. Slowly, one year after another, there is a continuous improvement in terms of facilities and services. And always the staff was great! They give you the great feeling that they are more chalet keepers, than owners and this is contributing to the great atmosphere. We will definitively return whenever we will have the chance!
Cons: all ok

Pros: I liked the kindness of the owner. Good organization for breakfast, location itself.
Cons: the bed was kinda small for 2 persons. Also the space inside the bathroom was tight.
Pros: - location is very close to the teaching slope and 2 of the beginner's slopes - the staff was very friendly - clean
Cons: - stairs are very bad - the provided supplies in the bathroom were not enough for 3 adults.
Cons: Bathroom very small
Pros: We liked the surroundings. We have been there in extraseason and we were the only guest of the location.
Cons: The apartment that we had was very small and its bathroom as well. The inside stairs of the building were too steep. The lication did not have a reception desk.

Pros: I liked it because it Was not far away from my Business Meeting Point and the stuff was very Kind and helpful!
Cons: We didn't had liquid soap for Hands and sufficient toilet paper!Everything else Was find!
Pros: We really enjoyed the stay in this hotel in spite of the booking.com rating. Locality is the best thing - you are in the center of the town. The staff was friendly and helpfull and spoke english fluently (which is rare in Romania). The room was clean, roomy with comfortable bed and sofa. Wi-Fi was really fast and stable. In the shower was a full bottle of a shampoo and a soap. Dog was not a problem, no extra fee.
Cons: Water temperature in the shower was fluctuating a bit. Our room was a bit dark, more lights would be better. The place is located right next to a church which means bells toll in the morning.

Pros: The food was great and the staff were very friendly, very little English spoken but i don't speak Romanian so not a complaint.
Cons: no breakfast, very small rooms, old cheap furniture
Pros: Only that it had a good location.
Cons: It wasn't very expensive so I cannot complain about that, but everything else was "meh".
