We were so lucky to come on a super moon weekend - the grounds were lovely for our late evening stroll around the grounds. The horses were very friendly and the innkeeper let us feed them some apple cookies. The house's remodeling is just beautiful. We spend most of our time on the back porch sipping wine, eating cheese and playing dice. We dragged ourselves away with a picnic dinner to the twilight polo, then had a great time chatting up a fellow next to us who was a polo player himself, as well as a steeple chaser. The breakfast was huge. I wish they had asked us about dietary needs - just started Weight Watchers and would have appreciated a less sugary fruit course I could have filled up on.
Pros: The owner and staff were real horse people, not just living in horse country. Very friendly and helpful. Twilight Polo at Great Meadow was a blast on Saturday night. Loved the snacks and wine on the porch and the library.
Cons: Just a personal peeve. I hate too many pillows, and once we took off all the pillows and the quilt there was no room to move around the room.
Pros: The room was very confortable and enjoyable. The operation of the shower left something to be desired as the mechanism for adjusting the height of the shower didn't function properly. Certainly not the end of the world but annoying all the same.
Cons: I'm not a big fan of turkey sausage at breakfast. Would rather have pork sausage. Not sure why it wasn't offered. Other than that, breakfast was very good.

Cons: Bugs - as a matter of fact a bug in my wife's hair in the mid of the night, which woke her up screaming in turn woke me up
Cons: Very dirty bathroom and towels were stained with a black substance. The fitness center was out of the 80's
Overall I'm just hoping I didn't get bed bugs staying here
Pros: I don't have anything nice to say about my stay.
Cons: Hotel tried to charge an additional $10 for the room I reserved, stating there was an error with the online booking agent. Got a room with double Queen beds instead of the King I had reserved to avoid paying anything additional. Room was on the ground floor next to a parked refrigerated food carrying tractor trailer which was idling, I could hear it all night. Room was tidy but the coffee machine had an old spill of coffee on the bathroom counter. All the towels smelled of a combination of dust, fresh paint, and cigarette smoke. Noticed the towels after drying my face after getting out of the shower.
Pros: The staff was really helpful and friendly! The building had just been remodeled, the rooms we're clean.
Cons: The breakfast was very small nothing to really choose from but wasn't a deal breaker for us.
Cons: Party going on in room next to me and management did nothing about it. Paper thin walls don't help.
Pros: I could walk to conference center next door.
Cons: Pools are much more fun if they have water in them.
Smoke detector had no batteries on arrival - second day it was hanging out of the wall.
No table or desk in king room.
Curtains kind of small for the window.
Updating and clean-up seems to be in process.
Pros: This is NOT a suite. It was dirty. It smelled. I reserved 1 bed, got 2 upon arrival. When I asked for my money back, that we would go someplace else (at 9pm at night!) the front staff said she couldn't refund me, that I needed to go through hotels.com. After speaking with hotels.com, they informed me she lied. The hotel needs to reimburse. Now I can't get a hold of anyone there since last Saturday no one picks up. It's disgusting.
Cons: Everything was gross.
Smelled liked stale cigarettes ( yes I had a no smoking) & BO. Not the place I wanted to stay the night before a big court appearance.
At WoodSpring Suites Gainesville, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Manassas National Battlefield Park. You'll have free perks like WiFi and self parking. Rooms feature kitchens and flat-screen TVs.
Cons: PICTURES ARE MISLEADING!! ! Entire place smells of stale cigarettes and dirty. I asked for a nonsmoking room. I entered the unsecured doorway and was immediately overcome by the fumes. The entire building reeks. I quickly entered the room thinking it would be better once I was out of the hallway, it was awful!
I wish I would have taken pictures but I did not stay long enough. I have a chronic condition and immediately began having problems breathing. We went back to the front desk to ask for a refund. She argued with us and refused. We contacted online customer service and explained the situation. They agreed to refund my money and had to speak to her directly before she canceled the room. Needs renovations!
