Facilities, location, and comfortableness were outstanding. Additionally, the staff were very kind, respectful, and professional. The boutique hotel decor is simply elegant and the ambience was cozy and calm.
Interestingly and surprisingly, my suite's bathroom's ventilation fan wasn't working. It could have been a technical dysfunction or a minor fan defect. However, there should have been proper maintenance check prior to our check in to the suite.
Room was spacious with two TV's being a plus. The location was also good and walkable to Dupont Circle and Logan Circle. The staff was very helpful when we needed washcloths and towels, The manager did try his best to fix the problems we encountered.
It would have been nice to have mentioned that there was not daily maid service. We arrived on a Sunday and after finding out that our room was not made up on Monday we were told that maid service was provided on Monday and Wednesday. So service on Monday did not happen and we left on Wednesday.
Staff did answer the phone at the front desk On Several Occasions when assistance was needed during the stay.
Location is awesome, staff was friendly, the lobby is beautiful, the room was quite comfortable. We appreciated the complimentary upgrade to a King suite on a higher floor. We also appreciated being able to stream Netflix in the room and the high speed Wi-Fi. It’s a great value for the money, but you need to be fully aware of some things before you book here. Read below in my list of “cons”.
Our room didn’t feel clean when we arrived. For example, it seemed there was a booger on the wall tile of the shower that hadn’t been cleaned up... gross! The grooves of the tiles also seemed to have mold. Most of the food in minibar was expired, but that’s probably due to COVID? Overall, despite the renovations to the room, it still felt dated, which we were not expecting. No central AC, but one of those super loud old school ACs you’d find in motel rooms (albeit, controlled by a digital wall thermostat).
