Pros: Parking was easy. Free internet was a bonus.
Cons: There was no one at the desk for 30mins when we wanted to check in to our room at 10pm. We used the phone at the desk as instructed to contact the concierge but no one answered. We then had to roam around looking for someone to help us. Unclean room.
Pros: Cleanliness; friendliness of staff; very nice hot breakfast bar.
Pros: clean, safe area, great breakfast
Pros: Decent location with average accommodations.
Cons: The lack of customer service was appalling. I can very easily look past minor issues with staff friendliness/cleanliness. However, staff did nothing to help us when other guests stomped in the room above ours. They acted annoyed by us asking for help.
Pros: Very clean and staff was friendly and accommodating
Pros: The cookies !
Pros: Clean, normal Hampton Inn room. Great location. Lots of parking available.
Cons: The staff was horrible. I felt like we were bothering them. Check in was done without any words except the grunt for a credit card for the file from the clerk. We won't be staying here again. The staff was just that bad and seriously unwelcoming.
Cons: The pool was freezing. My 2 year old wanted nothing to do with getting into the cold water.
Pros: Everything! The decor is fun and cheerful the breakfast/common area is large, the staff is friendly, the beds are comfortable, and the location is convenient. We've stayed here twice so far.
Pros: Clean and friendly
Cons: Price and location
Pros: The staff was friendly. The room was clean. The spa was magical in cold evenings!
Cons: Hard to regulate room temperature
Pros: Love the beds and linens! Excellent breakfast! Friendly staff!

Cons: One staff member was unfriendly in particular. The floor was not cleaned at all in the hotel room and smelled damp. There were muffins and old granola bars under the edge of the bed. Poorly cleaned.
Pros: Generally a nice hotel in a great location.
Cons: We had several issues. Bad to worse
1 The room safe was not operable as the display stated low battery. Cleaning staff should have seen that.
2 The toilet flushes poorly and the trip lever was broke. Again cleaning staff should notify maintence. (I repaired the trip lever inside the tank)
3 Big problem here.. There was a small amount of human waste on the toilet seat. I couldn't wait for the staff so I cleaned it.
Not a great experience for $234 for one night.
Pros: The staff was very friendly. The room was clean.
Cons: The bed pillows were to thick-not stomach sleeper friendly. Construction started across the street at 8 AM-would have been better to be on the other side of the hotel.
Pros: Location is excellent.
Free breakfast was great.
Cons: Noisy AC unit in room.
Some spills that should have been cleaned up earlier.
Pros: Staff, especially Isaac at front desk, were friendly and helpful. Beds and linens were amazingly comfortable!
Cons: Smelly musty towels and shower...moldy pool.

Pros: The hotel looks great on the website - very high-end, ultra modern. It is ideally located near the University of Iowa campus and in the heart of the downtown nightlife. Lots of restaurants, bars and shops are nearby. Parking is conveniently located next door (although the daily rate was a bit of a surprise).
Cons: While the reality is similar to the photos, the hotel is showing some signs of use and a lack of high standards. The front desk experience was fine, but the attendant was seated behind a low desk (rather than the counter) which required the guests to be seated while checking in. The front desk attendant also was responsible for taking room reservations while simultaneously taking care of guests. We waited 10 minutes for a phone call that resulted in a "thanks for the information, but I'll reserve online instead because it's cheaper" - frustrating to listen to every word. Having 2 people on duty would have alleviated this situation.
The furniture has been well used and beginning to show signs of wear, walls have many scrapes and dents, etc. In the bathroom, the water pressure is relatively low yielding more of a "sprinkle" than a "shower". The huge garden tub took nearly 30 minutes to fill.
Overall, it was a fine experience, but we won't be going back. It wasn't worth the price tag.
Pros: phone data worked without hotel wifi
tablet was on hotel wifi, it was fast
grocery store in building is actually a grocery store
Pros: The staff at Hotel Vetro were extremely friendly and accommodating. We travelled to Iowa City for a wedding, and we were able to get into our room 4 hours head of check-in time in order to get ready for the event! The room was amazing and the bed divine. We will definitely be returning to Vetro on our next trip!
Pros: The hotel was comfortable and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. They let us bring our dog, which we appreciate.
Cons: Couple things could improve it- make it clear when booking that while there is a kitchen in the room there will be no dishes, silverware, glasses or paper towels. There is supposedly a "kichen in a box" option mentioned in the room, but it showed pots and pans. Had to go buy glasses to drink a bottle of wine. Coffee pods provided were too big for the coffeemaker in the room and caused a mess when tried to use it. No paper towels provided. Balcony was great, but it had old cigarette butts and trash that could have easily been cleaned up. Minor things, but if fixed the experience would have been better
Pros: The rooms looked cool.
Cons: Got an email saying my room would be ready at 3:00 and we finally got in at 5:00. Staff at counter downstairs were rude. Cement floors looks neat, but you can hear everything on your floor. I will never go back or recommend. Go to the Sheraton if you want to stay downtown.
Located in the entertainment district, hotelVetro is a great choice for a stay in Iowa City. Guests can visit the 24-hour fitness center for a workout or enjoy Asian cuisine at Formosa Asian Cuisine, one of 2 restaurants. Rooms feature kitchens, pillowtop beds, and LCD TVs.
Pros: Stopped here while driving across country. Pleasant enough place, for the money. Decent continental breakfast.
Cons: A little dated, some stains in spots, but clean enough.
Pros: The staff was very accommodating. They didn't hesitate to find a room that worked well.
Cons: Dirty, smelly, poor attitudes...We didnt stay! We left with no available refund!
Pros: Friendly staff, rooms were dated but clean, decent breakfast.
Cons: Currently, lots of renovation occurring and the construction is messy. Security doors did not lock. Microwave from 80s in room stacked on top of oversized dorm fridge. Noisy ACunit.
Pros: Friendly staff, location
Pros: The price was great and the parking was right outside the room
Cons: Hotel is under remodel and the pool was out of service along with no hot continental breakfast for at least another month

Pros: The hotel was great for a short trip to Iowa City. Very roomy, comfortable, and quiet. The internet and cable provider was having some issues when we checked in, but it was resolved by the evening. Lots of parking. Great value for the price.
Cons: The hotel location was a little strange, just far enough away from campus and downtown to be a pain to get to via walking or uber. The location almost deterred us from staying, but we were glad in the end that we did.
Pros: Reasonable rates for large room
Cons: Could not regulate the heat, was very warm on 2nd floor room
Pros: The room was really big and it was clean. The breakfast tray in fridge was nice.
Cons: The heat would not shut off even when the air conditioner was running. We had to open patio doors and windows open because it got up to 85 degrees in our rooms. Also 2 of our keys didn't work.
Pros: The room outlay.
Cons: Staff...no towels, soap, or toilet paper. Breakfast area was dirty and under supplied.
Pros: The room was spacious and clean. Cost was reasonable.
Cons: The lobby was closed Saturday morning so not able to have breakfast at hotel. Toilet in room did not flush properly. Walls were thin so I could hear neighbors.
Enjoy your visit to Iowa City with a stay at Alexis Park Inn & Suites - Extended Stay. Free perks include continental breakfast, WiFi, and self parking. Rooms at this Tudor hotel offer pillowtop beds and flat-screen TVs.
Cons: There were people in the pool area at 12:30 am yelling up at some other people and were very loud. This was not the hotel's fault per se, but shouldn't staff be checking on the hotel from time to time? The wifi was terrible too. We could only get it to work off & on. Very frustrating. Also, the next morning there was an argument between the manager & some people in the next room. They were not registered and she was telling them to leave. How did they get into the "secure" building, let alone the room right next door??? Made my daughter & I feel very unsafe. Will never stay there again! This hotel was not cheap, but the experience we had made it feel cheap.
Cons: Absulutely the worst place we have ever stayed. Really, unbelievably dirty, outdated. We felt it almost should have been condemed. We were seriously considering sleeping in our car after seeing the room. We were really concerned about bedbugs, etc. Just totally disgusting.
Size of room
Cons: Terrible wifi
The room was off the pool and spelled musty and moldy
Pros: Easy access to services. Helpful staff members. Location was great for me.
Cons: Saw two other guests who needed an elevator to the 2nd floor. One left to go to a different hotel. You should reserve some of the first floor rooms for senior and disabled guests. It's hard to believe you don't have an accommodation for that.

Pros: Clean and quiet good but not great breakfast
Cons: ice machine was broken
Cons: Ice machine was broken and restroom in lobby out of order
Pros: Good price and a very good Mexican restaurant right on the property.
Pros: Location. Mexican restaurant next door was very good and accommodating.
Cons: Bathroom tub moldy, hot water faucet in tub ran all the time so like a sauna and fan didn't work. Ice machine broken. Mouse in room . Two small thin bath towels.
Pros: It was close to the highway and pet friendly
Cons: Kept insisting that we did not smoke in the room we were not going to smoke in the room but they insiste
Pros: Clean room, flat screen tv with many chanels
Cons: remodeling under way
This hotel seems to have some recent updates, still could use some work. Staff was foreign , so a little hard to understand ,but very nice . When I asked for anything they took care of it right away. There where no ice buckets in room , but I always carry gallon bags with me so I just used one to get ice.
Pros: Close to Interstate 80 and had a restaurant upstairs and bar/grill downstairs.
Cons: Smelled a little musty in hallways , but no worse than any other lower cost hotel.
We didn't even get a key to our room.
Cons: Dirty, run down, didn't speak English
clean, inexpensive, good bed, nice staff, nice room
Pros: nicest inexpensive hotel I have stayed in ever.
