8.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean frendly staff free breakfast
Cons: Mattress worn out
7.1 Good
Pros: The staff were professional, friendly, and very helpful. They tipped us off to good restaurants/things to do in the area and provided us with a map of the town/local businesses upon our arrival. They were ready to answer any questions we had and to help us with anything we needed - be it towels, local delivery spots, or fresh coffee. There’s a nice little pool with a hot tub and outdoor seating area; they vending machines with food/drinks as well as one with toiletry/travel items. Our room was ok - a little small, but we got a really good deal on price. It’s obviously a very popular hotel because they were at capacity during our stay and I overheard that they were all booked up the following week while we were checking out.
Cons: Our room was a little dilapidated and there was clearly some kind of ventilation issue. As stated above, the hotel was at capacity so, we were unable to switch rooms. However, we spoke with the manager (Tim) and he made everything right when we checked out. Breakfast is just OK, but free is free!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms need more outlets, but otherwise everything was just fine.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: I called to book with them direct as I was in a panic. My daughter was sick and at school in Ames and needed me to be there. The rate over the phone was almost $60 more than the rate online. I loved the lesser option. The front desk staff was amazing. On the evening of Sept 26th and the morning of the 27th. They were all great. I will say I was shocked when there was a knock on my door at 9am from housekeeping. I had NEVER heard of that before checkout time, unless the staff was thinking the room was likely vacant. My daughter was sleeping. I went downstairs to let them know that that is not something I appreciated since we had until Noon. The Nice young lady (Amazing) was very apologetic and offered free breakfast coupons for the inconvenience. Finally, the dark, curly haired young man that was serving at breakfast that day was AMAZING. he went above and beyond and sadly I did not have any cash to tip him. I would stay again. I would stay there every time when we are in Ames, but it now will depend on rates and restrictions.
Cons: I was frustrated because we know we have to go back to Ames on Nov 1st for an event. I tried to book with Hilton and the room rate was $268 for a king with a two night min. This is Ames, IA. I found a place I like, but it impossible to get a reasonable room. I already book with someone else that night.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable, adjustable bed firmness Very friendly staff Great location
Cons: Room smelled like cigarette smoke trying to get covered up.
7.7 Good
Pros: Room size was good. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was pricey, but good.
Cons: We had some questionable stains on the carpet in our room. Thankfully our baby isn't mobile yet, if he was crawling I would have been more upset.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, all the amenities I needed, exactly what I was looking for.
Cons: Free breakfast would have been nice.

Cons: Bathroom floor was sticky, high humidity on first floor,
7.7 Good
Pros: Check in was easy with the keys ready beforehand. Room was clean and spacious. Beds were firm but comfortable. National Treasure was playing on the TV, which I appreciate. Breakfast was adequate but unspectacular in the morning.
Cons: Some hallway noise from other guests could be heard, though that is likely the fault of those guests.
5.7 Okay
Pros: Overall appearance of room was fine. upholstery and furniture carpet etc. were all in good condition. Bed was comfortable.
Cons: Building it's self is showing wear, bathroom floor sagged around toilet area, no security latch on the door to the hallway. Walls are thin. There are nicer newer facilities in same area for equivalent price.

Cons: They were redoing the pool and they assigned us rooms right above it with no fresh air circulation. We asked for a different room but were turned down. The epoxy smell was so bad we couldn't sleep so slept in other rooms with other guests. We asked

Pros: Great breakfast friendly staff
Cons: Thin walls.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Warm cozy rooms & bed after a long day at dance competition on a snowy weekend. Also they were able to keep us an extra night when the weather was bad and interstate closed.
Cons: The breakfast selections were skimpy and over the last hour the did not restock it very well. On a Sat or Sun morning you'd expect that most families would eat between 8:30-9:30 am. Breakfast was to end at 10. By 9 no food there. By 9:30 picked up.

Pros: The staff was friendly and professional.
Cons: The bathroom had pink mold in the shower. The room had a musty smell - I kept the bathroom exhaust on the entire time I was there. The whole hotel smelled like chlorine and the hallways were worse - humid and hot. i skipped the free breakfast.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: It was the host hotel for the conference I was attending, so the location was the best part.
Cons: The first room I was assigned smelled like cigarette smoke. The second room has a large amount of hair on the bathroom floor and in the bathroom sink. Cleanliness is clearly a problem.
