Very friendly reception; nice large warm bedroom; excellent main course at dinner although dessert less good; excellent breakfast although our own coffee pot would have been nice. In spite of the closeness to the main road we weren't at all bothered by the traffic or the trains, unlike several other reviews.
Tired appearance but ok to stay in. Nice over looking the grounds Food very poor Room showed obvious evidence of Previous occupants (stains on bedcloths, burn marks etc) tv didn't work and felt we shouldn't have to chase this sort of thing. You shouldn't rest on your laurels just because you are situated in a nice location. It's all in the detail and giving customers what they want. (you should also look after the opinions of the local customers too. Please take my comments as constructive criticism.
The room was clean. Nice view. Food poor yet expensive. Numerous minor problems with room and quality of service. Customer care very poor. Not good value for money. Informal complaint to Reception and then formal, written complaint (to Manager, John Osmond) met with no response apart from acknowledgement he'd received it. Very disappointing and would not stay there again or recommend it.
The room with balcony was very comfortable, and service excellent.
leisure club and spa - superb facilities kept in pristine condition bar prices were a little overboard
Meals that were taken at the hotel were of excellent quality. Staff were inadequately trained in their allocated tasks
1st class establishment, pricy but exercelent food but bar overpriced ie. £11.00 for two single brandys!!
We had a pleasant room over looking the grounds. The receptionist on arrival wasn't very warm and inviting.
