Elegant without being stuffy staff attentive without being gushy
An amazing hidden gem, one of the cosiest B&Bs we’ve been to! Food was simply splendid, and we loved the atmosphere! Shame our stay was only one day, would definitely visit again :)
That we have to leave it and move forward ))
It was in the most amazing location on the moors with incredible views and walks. The food was excellent and the staff attentive, the scones we had were the best we have ever eaten and we’ve had a few.
Our room Toptor, was an attic room with a low beam, which was easy to hit your head on. It is however somewhere we would definitely go back to and would pick a larger room at the front with a full view of the moor.
The hotel, the location and the views are all beautiful. The food in the restaurant, both breakfasts and evening meal were excellent (healthy and tasty). The staff were helpful and friendly. We loved the place, in the heart of west Dartmoor.
The internet connection was non-existent in our room and much of the ground floor where it was sometimes possible to obtain wifi by sitting at the foot of the stairs. This could probably be improved by installing a signal booster or repeater for minimal cost (approximately two hundred pounds investment). This would have made a great difference to our stay.
Prince Hall is a remote and secluded farmhouse surrounded with green fields, forests, and hills situated in the heart of Dartmoor. The location is ideal for a relaxed stay and walks, especially for those who tired of the big city's noise and dust. The staff is top class, and the breakfasts are fabulous. Don't miss the opportunity of having dinner with a glass of wine and a book by the fireplace. Last but not least, it is a pet-friendly place which was essential for us. We will be recommending Prince Hall to friends and would be happy to return.
The WiFi signal is weak, that is true. I realise it may be crucial for some people, so make sure to download offline maps beforehand. But it wasn't an issue for us as we enjoyed the freedom of 'digital detox'.
With a stay at Prince Hall Hotel in Yelverton, you'll be in a national park, within a 10-minute drive of Dartmoor and National Park Visitor Centre Princetown.
