Overview
The Majestic Yosemite is a must-stay for any guest to Yosemite National Park that isn’t camping or just passing through for a day. It is the distinctive AAA four-diamond hotel recognized by the park. No other hotel offers the proximity and views of The Majestic does of Yosemite Falls, Glacier Point, and Half Dome. The design and architecture of the hotel was meant to highlight these natural surroundings.
Guests have four choices when staying at The Majestic Yosemite that includes standard, junior suites, hotel parlors, and hotel cottages. Each choice gets progressively larger and offers more direct and scenic views of the park’s surroundings. Guests can choose between one king or two double beds. All rooms come well-appointed with a pillow-top mattress, WiFi, flat-screen TV, and fridge.
The Majestic Yosemite Dining Room is the place to eat as it serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. The towering 34-foot high ceiling with enormous pine trusses and granite pillars will make it hard for guests to focus on their food. Check out the decadent sweet shop for a little bite of sugary goodness, or the bar for a favorite drink with a friend.
When it comes to activities and things to do, guests will need to be reminded that they are at Yosemite National Park. The Majestic Yosemite also holds a historical heritage because it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a National Historic Landmark. Visitors will intentionally forget their tent and sleeping bag next time through so that they can have another stay at The Majestic Yosemite Hotel.

Opt for a Room with a View
Several guests mentioned that the views from the rooms were spectacular. Opting for a room with a balcony facing the waterfall or mountains comes highly recommended.
Consider Alternative Dining Options
Some guests found the main dining hall's buffet to be the only option, and a la carte would have been preferred. Exploring nearby dining options, such as the lodge eatery, may provide a more satisfying dining experience.
Be Mindful of Additional Fees
Some guests were surprised by the inclusion of the shuttle bus fee in the room price, even if they didn't use the bus. Additionally, valet parking was considered expensive with no alternative parking options. It's advisable to clarify such fees before booking.
Check Room Amenities
While the hotel offers modern amenities, some guests found the room amenities, such as the thermostat, heater, shower, and Wi-Fi, to be outdated or inconsistent. Checking the functionality of these amenities upon arrival may help address any issues promptly.
Explore Nearby Attractions
The hotel's proximity to various attractions like the Ansel Adams Gallery, Yosemite Falls, and Glacier Point makes it convenient for guests to explore the natural beauty of Yosemite National Park.
Consider Seasonal Variations
Understanding the low and high seasons, such as January being the low season and August being the high season, can help in planning a visit that aligns with personal preferences and crowd expectations.
Be Prepared for Historic Charm
As a historic landmark, the hotel offers a unique experience. Embracing the historical aspects and grandeur of the old hotel can enhance the overall stay.
Inquire About Room Selection
Some guests experienced discrepancies between the booked room and the actual room provided. It's advisable to confirm the room details and preferences during the booking process to avoid any inconveniences upon arrival.
Plan for Climate Control
Due to the historic nature of the hotel, some guests encountered issues with room temperature and heating. Bringing additional layers or inquiring about room heating options may help ensure a comfortable stay, especially during colder seasons.
Consider Alternative Transportation
While the hotel offers shuttle services, some guests found the inclusion of the shuttle bus fee in the room price confusing. Exploring alternative transportation options within the park may provide more flexibility.
