Scored an awesome seat with no one next to me in a small cabin between first and coach class.
Even after I had carefully check luggage restrictions I got thoroughly hassled about my ski bag and had to pay considerably extra and do major persuading. The fact the air china desk doesn't open till within 3 hours of flight time at Tom Bradley international terminal at lax is madness. All these red eye flights going through security at once was one of my worst flight experiences. I the picture I took of it is an awesome representation of the term madness
I loved all of the entertainment options. The music was relevant, the movies were movies I actually wanted to see, same goes for the TV shows. Also, I really liked that you could play games on there with other passangers.
The food was not very good at all. They didn't have any options besides chicken with rice or beef with noodles. Maybe I just don' t like airplane food and that wouldn't be any fault of Air China.
The food was gross. The look and smell of it all was enough to make me just go hungry for the 5 hour flight. Airplane food is not for me.
Crew service was excellent. Food choice and spread was nice and I was able to eat well despite not eating the chinese dishes.
I wish the food was american chinese - like PF chang !
Nice short flight. Houston is easy to navigate. Staff were friendly.
They didnt want to board my twins and I early so we blocked the aisle as i got them sorted. I had to sit over the aisle from my children as it was a 2 2 seating but the staff didnt seem to pursue where their mother was even though i was 1 row back. They didn't need me but i thought they should have at least enquired as to where the parent was of 2 11 yr olds. They were also curt trying to rush us off the flight as my daughter was trying to locate a lost item as we arrived. She has limited sight and we need time to get off and to find things.... given she has lost an iPad, and very expensive reading glasses and other things on the trips that span 24 - 36 hrs.
Everything went well. ANA customer service wonderful, both at the counter and on the plane. Loved the meals, and fun to watch the available movies and shows at your seat.
crew very helpful from check in to deplane..i would suggest when arranging seat for couples or mother abd child make sure its to gether at first check in not later at another airport which was fine they did in manila..but from chicago they cant do it have to wait in japan and almost not done
