Cons: "When I bought my ticket last Nov , I paid extra to select seats, only to discover no aisle seats available for the 15 hour flight from LAX to Guanghzou. I tried many times to call CSA LA office using toll free and regular number, but could never speak to a human. Last November 7 I missed my flight home due to the Thai King's motorcade causing the road I was on to be closed for more one hour. I arrived at the CNXairport nearly one hour before the scheduled departure time, only to find CSA check in counters already closed. CSA Bangkok made me pay for a one way ticket home on Nov 8 even though all 3 flights were not full. I arrived well I'm advance and checked in. CSA began boarding 30 minutes before the time shown on my boarding pass and closed the aircraft doors shortly aftethe boarding time listed. No wonder I missed my Nov 7 flight! I wrote CSA LA a letter including the receipt for the one way ticket and requested a refund or at least a reply or home call. I never received a reply. I have flown CSA/Delta from Detroit, MI to Chiang Mai, Thailand 5 or 6 times in the last 3 years. It seems they don't care about customer loyalty. In the future CSA will not be my first choice and I will pay somewhat more to fly another airline."

Pros: "I had a great seat (exit row) with lots of legroom. They provided a free breakfast, and it was actually pretty good. A few hours later i was hungry and tried to buy some food but the cabin crew just gave my another breakfast item. The flight arrived on time, and the luggage was delivered a few minutes after I arrived at the baggage area."

Taxiing on the tarmac was interrupted many times, and took overall 30 minutes. The pilot kept informing us. I was probably not the only passenger that had and urgent need to reach a bathroom... Of course, Delta should not be blamed"

I didn't like having to pay $2400 for a ticket when you dropped the price after the Paris incident & I found the same ticket would have cost me only $869. I should be reimbursed the difference. I also don't understand why we had to wait till 10:15 to sit inside the gate area. Directions for boarding should have been clearer."

The layout of the airport is very tough to get from point A to point B. Walking a long distance with multiple security checks. On top of that, the plane was almost an hour late boarding and then taking off. It was a mass of people with no way to cue for an orderly boarding process. No instructions or info given to allow us to go get something to eat or drink prior to boarding."

It was stuck on one music channel, which had a short playlist. The light stopped working as well. I could not use the personal device entertainment system because the United system doesn't work with my Silk browser on my Kindle. My biggest complaint, however, was the boarding process. Every three minutes a flight crew member would announce, "Please move into the seat area and don't block the aisle, we have a lot of people to board" in a very exasperated voice. I felt assaulted. I didn't see any United crew members helping people with their luggage or trying to find additional luggage space for customers as I have on British Air, Swiss, and Lufthansa flights. I get that luggage is heavy and people can sometimes be uncooperative and flight attendants may not have signed up to be baggage haulers, but could you please HIRE someone strong to help with loading luggage on international flights? I don't like being treated as someone who is standing in the way of a smooth boarding process."

Anyway, having informed a crew member about my DVT condition, I asked if I could move in the empty area - mind you, that was after plane door was closed and boarding had been completed. She refused only to give after takeoff the area to a lady with a little dog in her purse. This flight was operated by United. Our household will from now on avoid any flight that's operated by United."

Cons: "I paid almost $400 for upgraded seats. When I got to the airport-- no seats-- both ways!! i didn't even have regular seat assignments. I had to choose from the last few seats available. The ticket agent, the gate agent and the cabin crew all did nothing to make up for the fact that their system screwed up and stuck me in a cramped coach seat in the back of the plane for 11 hours-- TWICE! Beyond that, KLM must have one of the oldest fleets in the sky. Both ways LAX->AMS->LAX, I was on a 30-35 year old 747 with no wifi, no power and a ten-year-old entertainment system. Never again."

KLM blamed the fog at Manchester but to be honest most other flights seemed unaffected. Put up in an IBIS hotel and fed substandard food and shitty hotel room with an Aircon unit that clunks into action every 30 seconds keeping me awake. It's external so I can't switch it off. Being given a 10 Euro voucher for food at the airport when most food and a drink will cost you 12 to 15 euros."

This never happens in the US - one of the few things we get right. Also, I have never had to board a plan from the tarmac since 1970 in the US - why do we have to always wait for and take buses from our check in gate out to the flight line? And how is this ever considered, "Premium Boarding?" It's like a cattle car. Fix these things and I will sing the praises of TAP forever."

We arrived on-time, went through the line and were then placed in a standing room only area to stand and wait for another 45 minutes before boarding. We were placed near the entrance (I thought to board early as a family) but were later told to join another line when we asked why we sere just standing and waiting while other passengers were walking past us. The communication between staff and between your staff and passengers was poor."

Cons: "Careless staff, unorganized, rude, long lines with slow working agents. We were traveling with our three and six year old and started with a weather delay and then eventually a cancellation. We stood at the Barcelona airport from 7pm until 2:30am with our children. Nobody offered us food vouchers, taxi or hotel. We had to ask and only got a hotel which was an hour away and taxi on us costing us over $100 euro! Everything closed and our children ate cookies from a vending machine for dinner. Finally we got to our hotel after 3am and slept until 6:30am to catch another taxi on us back to the airport just to find out it’s delayed and we would miss our connection in Madrid back to Miami. We arrived the airport again at 9am and at 3pm we’re finally given food vouchers for our hungry children to eat something. American Airlines has a direct flight from Barcelona to Miami but they insisted they couldn’t do that for us and we’d again stay another night in Barcelona at a hotel. This would all be fine if we weren’t traveling with small children, they didn’t have school and we didn’t have to work and had extra money to pay for all the inconveniences. This was by far the worst experience we’ve had and will never choose Tap again for our travels!"

She said next flight would be 2 days later - after calling the insurance I booked for the flight, they didn't want to reimburse for the interruption because the airline could not explain why it got canceled and i should prove that the flight was canceled - after being 6h on the phone with airline and insurance and waiting line had to hang of without solution. I had to purchase a new ticket from another airline to be able to fly on the same day back to Miami. - after arriving at the airport next morning for the other flight it turns out that Tap Portugal booked me to British Airways but they have not send me a notification email about it, so if I do not ask at the counter for Tap Portugal for the paperwork for the insurance I would never find out that i got a new flight and i would have miss it and the insurance would have never pay for it. With the new ticket i had to purchase, my travel with Tap Portugal cost me on the end around $3000, and I do not have that much money for a ticket at all, now I have a financial trouble. Thanks, never again."

Even on the day I left upon arriving to the airport my confirmation number they had just given me after all the prior problems still didn't work. Air china had mediocre food with okay entertainment except my headset jack on the TV was broke and I couldn't watch anything. On the last air china flight from Bejing to Bangkok. I couldn't even charge my phone, watch any entertainment and basically was just stuck with no WiFi. Justfly wouldn't compensate for the changes on their end and said I myself would have to ask the airlines for compensation which the.the airlines directed me no where for compensation or even to upgrade my seat. Now I'm finally in Thailand but I'm scared of my return."

The provided tiny aisle TV which played programmed shows and movies kept freezing, skipping, and turning off. Entertainment is usually the saving grace for budget int'l flights, whose food, service, and comfort can be expected to suck. Next time I'll shell out for Korean Air or Asiana."
