Daily cleaning, installation of cabin HEPA filters on flights from Peoria to North Holland
The Netherlands has restricted the entry of travelers arriving flights from outside of the EU, who are not nationals, residence permit holders, or long-stay visa holders of EEA Member States, Switzerland, or their families. Exemptions exist for some special cases, for example, travelers attending funerals or studying in an institution in the Netherlands. A complete list of exemptions can be found here.
From January 1, UK nationals are no longer classified as EU/EEA nationals and will not be allowed entry to the Netherlands. These restrictions do not apply to UK nationals who are legally resident in the Netherlands. Essential travel is still permitted. They will be allowed to re-enter the country, but will need to present residency permit, a certificate of application or a document with their address, and may be subject to questioning by Dutch border authorities when they arrive in the Netherlands.
The EU non-essential travel ban has also been lifted for residents of Australia, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, Rwanda, Singapore, Thailand and Uruguay.
The Dutch Government has a color-coded system of high-risk (orange) and lower risk (yellow) countries and regions. Travelers entering from high-risk (orange) regions or countries are required to self-isolate for 10 days upon arrival.
Tourists must comply with all the measures and rules that apply to combat the spread of coronavirus. Tourists must also reserve their holiday accommodation before they travel to the Netherlands. For the latest information, visit the FAQ on holiday travel to the Netherlands: here.
On July 16, the Dutch government announced an additional exemption for foreigners engaged in long-distance relationships with Dutch citizens/residents. For more information visit here.
Non-EU nationals who are not currently resident in or physically present in the EU are still subject to travel restrictions, and will not be allowed to enter the Netherlands for tourism.
From December 15, travelers who arrive from a country that is not on the EU ‘safe countries of origin’ list and who are exempt from the EU travel ban applicable to the Netherlands will need to produce the following documents:
An official negative COVID-19 PCR test result issued within 72 hours prior to arrival. Children under the age of 13 are exempt from presenting a COVID-19 test result.
A completed and signed Negative Test Declaration.
In addition, to the existing requirements for travelers, travelers from Ireland, the UK or South Africa must also show a negative result from a rapid test (antigen or LAMP test) or PCR test. The test must have been conducted no more than 4 hours prior to boarding the flight. Children under the age of 13 are exempt from presenting a COVID-19 test result. The test requirements do not replace the requirement to self-isolate for 10 days upon arrival.
Travelers must be in possession of printed versions of both the negative test result and the declaration. It is not acceptable to show a digital version on a phone or tablet.
Travelers are subject to a 10-day self-quarantine. Check the list of exemptions for more information.
There are currently 920,354 active cases of COVID-19 diagnosed in NL and 13,439 deaths as of Jan 22 2021

Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "Boarding was straightforward and without all the fuss that one gets with the cheap airlines, or worse, with Air France. For economy tickets, the level of comfort was adequate, but the seats didn't return to upright easily and the entertainment screen took a whole load of taps before it responded sometimes. A reasonable level of service for the price, and the plane was on time."
Cons: "The crew were disengaged. There were too many interruptions over the speaker system, first the English one, then just as you got back into your film, a Dutch one. I don't believe that have experienced such a level of disruption in some time."
Pros: "The flight was on time!"
Cons: "Economy seats are squished and uncomfortable."
Cons: "Complimentary ear plugs and mask would have been great."
Pros: "Crew was amazing but the seats were small and had very little leg room"
Cons: "Food service and beverages were mediocre at best"
Pros: "Friendliness of crew."
Cons: "Seating on United sucks. Seats are not comfortable and don't recline to the degree that Deltas does for standard cabin. Boarding for both my united flights has always been delayed. they are never on time. Ill go back with Delta and pay a little extra for the comfort and timeliness."
Pros: "Crew was superior. Helped switch seats and get to my transfer on time"
Cons: "Not have a two hour delay because a passenger had a nose bleed!!"
Cons: "The crew was friendly but because of 5 flight delays we missed our connections in Amsterdam and got stuck in Houston for the night. United airlines did not even give us a voucher for a hotel this causing us to spend more money. We will now arrive in Amsterdam a whole day late missing our check in"
Pros: "boarding was fast, flight was on time, nice crew"
Cons: "pretty basic creature comforts, seats so so"
Cons: "Almost didn’t get breakfast because I was asleep. Crew wasn’t very good about picking up trash."
Cons: "We took off about three hours late because of a small mechanical problem discovered after we boarded. The plane had been sitting at Dulles for 12 hours. Couldn't it have been checked earlier in the day?"
Pros: "High marks when you can ease my fear of flying."
Pros: "Quick boarding. Ontime departure."
Cons: "Very small servings of food."
Pros: "good seating. I am 6'5" and i was pretty comfortable"
Cons: "Seats way too tight- very confining"
Pros: "I have always loved flying Lufthansa however we didn't fly Lufthansa, we were on United for both legs of our flight. Like all American opperated airlines they skimp on comfort in order to pack more people on their flight. I hope we are on Lufthansa on our way home at least."
Cons: "I have always loved flying Lufthansa however we didn't fly Lufthansa, we were on United for both legs of our flight. Like all American opperated airlines they skimp on comfort in order to pack more people on their flight. I hope we are on Lufthansa on our way home at least."
Pros: "No delays for flight, despite weather."
Cons: "Lack of legroom or recline in seats. I know it’s economy, but come on. We’re not sardines."
Pros: "That the flight was on time"
Cons: "I flew with 1 child and 1 infant and there was no help, not at check in, not at boarding nor from the crew on board. I requested a bassinet before the flight over the phone and didn't get it. There was an issue with the infant ticket and the United check in agent was incompetent to fix it, which made us late for boarding. No one helped me at boarding with taking the stroller from me. On board the crew members were annoyed when I ask for some hot water for a baby bottle. And it's sad that children don't get a kid's meal ( which we received flying with many other airlines) and have to eat the uneatable adult meal. That was my first and last time flying with United."
Pros: "I like the people are friendly and when traveling by myself it is always a pleasure to have someone next to me to have a good conversation"
Cons: "I did like the food option. I don't eat cheese and all the food had cheese in it."
Cons: "Work with me on ticket"
Pros: "There were extra seats due to few passengers. We were very timely in leaving and landing. The dinner was good. I had pasta with spinich and a red and white sause. Very tasty and hot. They came around with plenty of water. The ticket price was very reasonable."
Cons: "This flight was on United. So, there was no internet to purchase as the emails from Lufthansa claimed there would be. I woke up in the middle of the night and went to 3 open seats and laid across them. It was dark and I did not realize that I had moved to Economy Plus. The flight attendant told me that I should not have been there, that she could have charged me for the difference in the seat. Prior to this I felt pretty good about the flight. There was no reason for her to treat me that way. It was apparent that it was a mistake and not done purposely."
Cons: "I didn't go. It was $400 just to change my name on my ticket from my maiden name to my married name. I am so disappointed and will never use Kayak again!!!"
Pros: "I ordered a special meal and it was delicious! Because I have dietary concerns, I often have to order a special meal. Usually, I find that the alternatives meals are second thoughts and thus can be rather tasteless. I was very thankful for my meal."
Cons: "The plane was so tiny we were packed in it like sardines. I am a rather small person (barely 5 feet tall) and usually have no complaints about space on a flight but even my knees hit the back of the seat in front of me."
Cons: "flight was delayed - mechanical; disabled husband (had knee replacement 15 weeks ago) had to walk the entire way from concourse F to A. the caused excruciating pain."
Pros: "Crew very professional, plane clean, take off on time, flight landed safely (most important)"
Cons: "Dinner sort of goopy."
Cons: "Crew was not very accommodating. Seemed more interested in sleeping then providing service to passengers. Economy plus seats not that comfortable. Flight delayed and baggage took forever."
Pros: "Entertainment, food, service, on-time landing (early!)"
Cons: "The magazine Puch was nasty, the magazines old and sticky,"
Pros: "The flight and service was nice."
Cons: "Sitting between two people to entire flight made it seem like a much longer trip."
Cons: "The movie failed multiple times. The internet was unacceptably slow."
Pros: "For those prices, I liked nothing. Tolerate was more like it."
Cons: "Business class seating is way overdue to be replaced and need for two prong connection to entertainment sound is a joke. Polaris Lounge missing any kind of basic food or snacks in effort to go overboard with chef "inspired" food. Seating largely geared to single travelers and travelers of 2+ people have difficulty finding seating."
Pros: "Plane delayed 24 hours. Plane left next day without us and our rescheduled plane was delayed."
Pros: "Left on time, arrived on time, crew was polite"
Pros: "Crew was efficient and curtious. Dinner (veg option) was good."
Cons: "Enterrtanment system not working well. Breakfast was minimal, bread very dry."
Cons: "I got an infection in my colon from the bacteria in the food I ate on the flight. I had acute diarrhea for four days and had to go to the hospital."
Cons: "Not a crew or airline issue, but strong winds made for three attempted landings."
Pros: "All fine, except delay"
Cons: "2.5 hours delay: plane needed maintenance and then more of that, a were unloaded. Took another plane."
Pros: "Delay, delay, delay"
Cons: "Waiting in the airport for 8hours! I have fibromyalgia and it was very uncomfortable. Never got a straight answer about why it kept being delayed. Missed my flight to San Diego!"
Cons: "I didn't like the 1 hr delay and sitting on the plane for an hr before take off"
Cons: "Entertainment and food could have been better."
Pros: "Good food"
Cons: "Touch screen on entertainment not sensitive enough and requires tapping hard to scroll through and select movies. Tapping from person behind you can be felt and wake you up from your sleep"
Pros: "Very friendly staff. Easy flight, no issues."
Cons: "Little more leg room. Eye mask would have been nice."
Pros: "Formallyncorrect behavior by crew"
Cons: "Very little understanding, empathy for exhausted and very thirsty passengers after significant delay. Water, refreshments served very late after take off. Crew just doesnt care, they do their work, that's it."
Pros: "The crew was very nice."
Cons: "United economy is so tight, I was very uncomfortable, made worse by a reclined seat in front. Flight was overbooked, so we did not have seat assignments until end, and could not sit together. Outdated entertainment system, had to hear and could not control start time of movies. I will try to avoid United flights to Europe in future."
Cons: "Two hour delay for start of engines.. Not enough chichen and pasta was not good"
Pros: "Entertainment was good Snack provided was ok"
Cons: "The food could have been better, with some choice for children Service was ok, the flight was really empty but felt we didn't get much better attention. Everything was still a rush."
Pros: "Pre-check with United"
Cons: "Did not get connecting flights boarding pass from the beginning. Short connection time - was very stressful"
Cons: "The seats were assigned for us and we couldn't get a boarding pass. United has this central ticket agent kiosk separate from the gate area which I couldn't find. All 4 of us were on line and had to get off and find this kiosk in order to get our boarding passes before we could get on."
