Broker in between introduce by website made it impossible to rebook flight in practice. Those website are very practical to look for flights but unless they give you the company direct you are better off switching to company site and book it there. Cons: "I have been flying JAL from HK to Boston numerous times and by far my favourite (over Cathay and don't even need to mention United). However this past trip gave me a new perspective. Given it is a Japanese airline and all, it is normal for them to be Japanese-centric. We had an a-hole sitting in front of us at 51F during our flight to Narita and he was trying hard to argue with us in English, and even told us to move to another seat. When I had the flight attendant (her name is Sako on flight JL736 on Jul 26) over to discuss (in English) she went to the guy in front of us and started apologizing to him. For what??? She then came back to us speaking in Japanese and brushed the issue away. Sorry, no this was not acceptable, even though my fiance was okay with the situation."

Cons: "The DC China Embassy web site clearly states that a valid APEC Business Card can be used in lieu of a Chinese visa. In spite of this I was denied boarding by JAL. It turns out the system is not fully in place, and eventually I was issued a 10 year multiple entry visa by way of apology. JAL did not waive cancellation fee, and I suffered considerable economic damages."

The food and beverage options were comparable to most airlines like Delta, United, etc, but presentation was better so they get style points. Their wifi connectivity was far better than Gogo's services, which is the provider for most domestic airlines. The real improvement compared to most my travel was the level of service. The staff was incredibly attentive."

I understand this carrier needs to cater to a broad cultural and geographic audience, but I think they make it too complicated. Giving meal service a decidedly Japanese angle results in main courses that are mush, and sides that are OK. Good yogurt, decent fruit, delicately prepared salads, delicious cookies and hagen daz are pretty simple and make the meals fun. (especially since chop sticks are always included), but the ovens turn the main courses into a stinky and kinda nasty thing. I wish they would simplify."

Just tell me what time to be at the gate so I can stand around after an international flight. I had to wait at the airport for 4 hours to get it sorted and was given a food voucher for $50 for the entire stop over. I asked about a flight voucher and they laughed and said they didn't do that even though they were the ones at fault. The crew was nice and the food was good but I will never fly quatar airways unless they remedy the situation."

Cons: "The check in counter service is terrible. Very unprofessional with terrible attitude. Can not pronounce the gate number clearly. After I clear up with him, he started gossiping with his colleague as it was my fault for not comprehending his English. How did Cathay Pacific become this way?"
Pros: "We had a traumatic and abysmal experience for the trip. The flights were delayed, cancelled, wrongly rearranged and we had to run through the airports with no sleep, no food and no clear flight confirmations with minimal to no help from the Cathay Pacific staff."
Cons: "Helpful ground staff with information about next flight arrangements and better telephone helpline staff."
Pros: "Our flight was delayed 45 in Chicago due to ice on the wings. Then about 10 mins of holding to land. With a 90 min lay over, unboarding and reboarding was rushed......but Cathay and security did their best I feel, It was only a 90 min flight and I didn't eat or watch a movie."
Cons: "Again, being 6-4, I struggle with comfort and after having no time to rest while switching planes, I was exhausted when I arrived in Manila."

Cons: "There was no wheelchair assistance for one of us ,while the other had.we we're told there was no staff to help with wheelchair! The inflight entertainment options are very poor when compared to Singapore and Emirates."

Cons: "They need to cater for more Europeans in their food offerings. They also need to carry enough to ensure they do not run out. Bathroom locks require maintenance."
Pros: "Flight and service were excellent on all accounts including food."
Cons: "Boarding was not organized in Hong Kong. Passengers were not called in groups, and therefore, an unorganized line formed between seats. Staff did not clearly tell passengers when boarding was taking place, and where to form lines. I was very surprised."
Pros: "Cup noodles and snacks available throughout the flight."
Cons: "Chicken curry ran out by the time I got served. I don’t really eat beef so I chose pasta, but the pasta was not substantial because it was just pasta noodles and sauce- no veges or anything with it. So I ate some cup noodles but that’s also more carbs. So no protein was available for my diet."

Pros: "I love the food, service and comfort I want make sure to fly with Cathay Pacific in my future flights. It’s all excellent! And I will probably recommend it to my family and friends."
Pros: "Everything. Great staff, punctual departing yimes, good communications. I have taken many airlines and this is the best if not one of the best. Keep up the great work. Only suggestion I would say is showing what types of foods offered as special meals, menu i mean."
Pros: "Everyone that was part of the Cathay Pacific team was so friendly and helpful. They were very accommodating and quick to assist me outside the typical meal and drink service times. I flew economy and the seats were fairly comfortable. There were plenty of new films to choose from for entertainment as well."
Cons: "the person in front of me just laid down his seat for almost entire flight which made me to have no rooms people are switching seats without letting flight attendants to know. This is not fair for other customers"

Cons: "That they continuously made mistakes and wasted my time and money. Let alone no sleep and carrying everything to 3 different terminals not completing my trip on any of them. Now I’m spending Valentine’s Day alone in a hotel in Hong Kong instead of meeting my gfs family and sleeping with her the first time in Manila."

Cons: "I wished the attendants offer more water without asking during the long flight. I had to ask several times."
Pros: "The vegetarian/vegan meals were very good for airline food. There was a great selection of entertainment options."
Cons: "One of the flight attendants who was assigned to my section, her name was Rain, was incredibly rude. Every time I asked her for a glass of water, she would sigh heavily and tell me to wait. Eventually, she stopped serving me all together and I needed to leave my seat and ask other crew members to serve my food. She was completely unprofessional and she made it clear she didn't like me, despite the fact that I was always going out of my way to be courteous. At one point, she walked down the aisle and stepped directly onto my foot, which was NOT in the aisle but under the seat in front of me. She didn't even acknowledge that she had stepped on my foot and kept walking. For a 14-hour flight, I was really bothered by her lack of professionalism. I will have to think twice before I book Cathay Pacific again."

Cons: "Flight arrived in LA 30 minutes late. Then had to wait another 30 minutes for a gate to open. All in all, the flight arrived 1 hr late which is very inconvenient and annoying. And the crew isn't has friendly. The boarding time in Hong Kong took a very long time"

Long wait on calls and no definite answer if hotel will be provided. Customer service ny and hk no coordination and bounced me from one party to another. Poor attitude of Cathay at NY JFK Airport counter who showed indifference and claimed too busy to take attention."

Cons: "On the way to Newark was terrible because of the food. Both dinner and breakfast half of my row were served last compare to everyone else sitting before us or after us. The rice dishes were gone both times when the food got to me. I can understand if it was just one meal, but it was disappointing that I wasn't able to eat rice during the whole 15 hours of trip. It would also be understandable if the row right before me wasn't served 20 mins prior to us, and the row right after me wasn't served 15 mins before us. I just couldn't understand how it was arranged. Maybe I should've ask for service right before they start serving meal."
Pros: "When you see a big plane you always wonder how long it will take but Cathay Pacific was very efficient during the boarding and deplaning. It was a very long flight and they kept everybody happy with a smile. Extremely accommodating."
Cons: "I had a flight from ZHR to HKG and further with another Airline to Shanghai. After 8 hours delay, I was not rebooked to another flight to Shanghai. Reason: We are only responsible to bring you to HKG - not further. Thanks a lot"

Cons: "We went in LGA to the Baggage drop off and the employee there was super rude. On the flight to New York with Delta we had to check our carry ons at the gate because it wasn't enough room for bags in the airplane.so we asked when we checked our one suitcase if we can/should check our carry ons to avoid having to do it at the gate. The delta employee told me sure no problem. He checks in my one suitcase I purchased gives me the tracking paper and says ok have a good flight. I asked him so what is with our carry ons and he told us that that would cost 25$ and we can't check those in at the drop off?!?We ended up taking the carry ons with to the gate and then off course there wasn't enough room on the airplane that we had to check it in. And surprise it was free?? We had never issues with Lufthansa, icelandair etc. with checking our bags at drop off to not needing to carry it around and than still end up to check it at the airplane. Every airline has been more than happy that we volunteer to check our bags that they don't have the trouble at the gate."

Cons: "Boeing 767-400ER seats had no leg room for 6'+ traveller like me. The entertainment system was so old that there were no 115v outlets or USB ports. On a 7-hour flight, that is a significant problem for travellers today with multiple electronic devices. Finally, we were not told in advance that we had to go through security twice and through US Customs BEFORE leaving Dublin. So, the 6-hour layover at JFK was a complete waste of our time as we did not have to go through Customs there."

Not fun to travel this time of year."
