The random boarding went surprisingly well, although I'd prefer the more structured version. Until there is bread, butter and cheese, I am fine with the bland food."

Pros: "The staff was communicative and genuine. The food was decent. Even though the flight arrived late I felt ok about it due to the direct communication of details about the situation. I was stuck in the extremely cramped space of seats just in front of the lavatory making the seat in front me 5 inches from my nose when reclined but the staff was sympathetic offering to ask the passenger in front of me to redress their seat more upright and also allowing me to spread out across two seats to compensate."
Cons: "While the staff compensated for the more than standardly cramped seating arrangement, I think the row of seats just in front of the lavatories should be either better designed or designated not usable. I am only 5’3” and 125lbs but still was faced with a mere 5 inches in front of me when the passenger in front of me reclined his seat. I couldn’t even stand in order to exit the row and had to crawl over the seats to my side. This had me thinking how dangerous this row could be in case of an emergency. Please consider designating these seats either not to be used or optional for passengers."

Pros: "So because of tge traffic and snow i got at the airport 25 min before the departure of my flight...but when i explained my situation every employee tried their best to help me in getting on the plane, by even opening the gate for me!! They were very helpfull, fast and efficient. Thanks to their kindness and efficiency i was able to get on the plane and see my family at home. I am verry thankfull to all the staff for it!"

Lufthansa should have anticipated this mass of people and had appropriate passport checkers there from that company. "Not our fault" does not cut it. Two planes 600 people each landed at same time. I'd guess a quarter missed connection. The process of rescheduling was a comedy of lies and inefficiency and lack of concern. Worst air travel experience ever. Ruined first two days of my vacation. Oh yea forgot the worst. No air conditioner running on runway at Houston at three in afternoon. Passengers visibly sweating before a nine out overseas flight. Blamed it on a mistake."

Lufthansa canceled my booking as I didn't take my outbound flight, when they found the booking, they asked me to pay extra. Such a waste of money! Although, the crew on the plane were really good!"

I SAT ON THE PLANE FOR 45 MINUTES BEFORE THE ISSUE WAS RESOLVED. I GOT TO THE TERMINAL AND WE WATCHED AS THE PILOT CLOSED THE DOORS OF OUR CONNECTING FLIGHT 35 MINUTES PRIOR TO TAKE OFF. NEEDLESS TO SAY WE MISSED THAT FLIGHT. WE WERE BOOKED ON A LATER FLIGHT WITH UNITED. THIS CREATED MORE PROBLEMS THAN I HAVE SPACE TO WRITE. I AM 70 YEARS OLD AND HANDICAPPED. YOUR INCOMPETENCE CAUSED MY WIFE AND I NUMEROUS PROBLEMS I WILL NEVER FLY YOUR AIRLINE AGAIN. I KNOW THIS WILL FALL ON DEAF EARS. I WOULD APPRECIATE A RESPONSE."

Cons: "But then they deboarded the plane and everything went south fast. They didn't tell us what was happening or where to go or what to do. Instead we were directed to different service centers. We were told conflicting things. Sometimes they told us to exit the airport through passport control, but without any information on what to do next. They reopened the terminal but then redirected us to a service center. That center was overloaded and we ended up waiting in line for service/information for the entire day. Once I was near the service center they dissipated the line. They told us there was another service center in a different part of the airport and that this one we have waited for was closing. We went there and it was also closed instead they had beds without blankets or pillows limit the halls. Alia we were in line for hours before they offered any water or food. Food was really late. Information was the problem here. We were not told what we should do except to check with the service center. Eventually a few of us tried to get through passport control and check the service center out front. This worked much better. I was able to get a hotel and a standby ticket. That flight went much better but getting that far was a mess."

Attendant on plane totally unhelpful and could have rearranged a few bags to make room but preferred to stay in back of plane and talk. To be fair, rest of flight was pleasant although late due in part to boarding issues."

As the last few people were boarding the gate agents announced there was not more overhead space and we would have to check all bags from now on. I’ve seen this done before but I was very irritated because it seemed as if the gate agents were a little rough with the newly checked bags. As I felt like I didn’t have a choice I checked my bag reluctantly knowing I had a gift for a friend inside and continued boarding. As I boarded I was highly irritated to see more than 5 available overhead spaces for carry ons. I asked the steward why they made us check bags when there was still space and she barely stopped to answer and just said they have a monitor up front that tells them when it’s full. Clearly the monitor was wrong and common sense would lead me to at least take a look before LYING to paying customers. I was very hurt to see the gift I had just bought for my friend was broken when I opened my bag at baggage claim."

Pros: "Stairs cause me tremendous pain due to a 4 year misdiagnosed ruptured SI joint. Usually, we have no way of knowing that our flight will end with a downstairs walk rather than a ramp. I emailed American Airlines last week but hadn’t gotten a response yet so when they announced that we would exit by stairs, I was almost in tears as I gathered my belongings. To my surprise, American Airlines had a ramp for us to use. I don’t know it it was a coincidence or if they responded that quickly knowing I was on the plane through todays’s technology. I will be a fan and a customer forever."

The biggest issue I have is that invariably when I fly American, if I go through Charlotte, is on the whole inconvenient. It takes way to Long to get to a gate when you land. They are trying to charge me $550 for this cancellation claiming they are not the ones who cancelled the reservation, and that I did. From what I understand the flight wasn't available in the first place and should not have been posted to purchase. British Airways will not take responsibility however."

Door was still open but gate agent argued with the lady on 800 line about who could ticket faster. By time they finished arguing the door closed. That began a 14 hour nightmare of bumping between flights and delays and the inevitable lost luggage. Paid for $300 hotel room at Vancouver that I will get to stay in for 4 hours. Will NEVER fly American again"

But to put that many people on a "cattle car" for a 6 hour flight... no bueno. Also, I could not check in online to get seats and I wasn't able to upgrade. My husband was stuck 13 rows behind me. Cons: "The headset plug outlet were not fitting well (very loose) and provide very poor connection. Toilet is dirty after awhile and always busy."

Cons: "Advising passengers in a timely fashion about weather delays. Left for air post @ 3:15 for a 5:58 flight. When I got to Newark I discovered my flight was delayed. Left the party early, which was reason for trip to sit in airport for hours. I generally fly Jet Blue & I definitely will stay with that airline. Second experience & last one with United. Paid $25 extra for a roomier seat which I never have to do with Jet Blue."

Pros: "Lost my baggage at San fransico and your connecting flights give you 30 min at most to get across an entire airport honestly I was so mad at the end when I finally got my bag I was missing a wheel of all things just poor organization for a business that takes in as much revenue as United does"

Cons: "The flight attendant was unusually pushy about the emergency exit. I am a military member who is fit and flys in the emergency row as much as possible. The attendant threatens to move me because I didn’t know what section of the aircraft the overwing exit was located."

Pros: "Fast and friendly staff from check in to landing. Southern folk don’t rush you and actually listen to consumers concerns."
Cons: "None...nice, short flight"

Pros: "787 is starting to show its age but efficient and comfortable 3 3 3 seating. Reasonable as you can expect crew., do the minimum required."
Cons: "Entertainment systems have dated material, too censored, required resets mid flight. Food was abysmal to say the least."

Cons: "Purchased a non-stop flight leaving at 530 and arriving at 6:30 pm. After flight was pushed back to 830 pm departure, it was pushed back again to 1130 pm departure and 1230 am arrival. Rebooked through connecting flight and arrived at midnight."

Cons: "There were no music channels, audio is limited to podcast and ebooks."

Pros: "I know that they've been in the news a lot lately for poor decisions, but everybody from the check-in counter through the flight crew were fantastic. I had a service dog with me, and they upgraded someone from a window seat in economy to allow me and the dog a window seat (rather than the middle seat we had been assigned)."

Cons: "Flight was delayed and overbooked. It wasnt the first time the flight was delayed. Flight going was also delayed. Attendants seemed to be in a bit of bad mood but were overall ok i guess. It was a short flight so it didnt matter."

Cons: "I didn't realize how you can no longer be accommodated without being charged for everything."

Pros: "Friendly staff"

Pros: "Get to Denver, they tell me I don't have a seat, they asked me if I wanted to fly out the next day because they over booked met three other people who had been there for 10hrs because they did the same thing to them! One girl told me they told her it was because we paid less then other people! A nice couple stayed so I could come home. I was pissed! My daughter flew into Houston, the flight was late getting in to LA, by two hrs, missed her connecting flight to San Luis Obispo, her sister had to drive down 4hrs to pick her up and drive back because she had work! Not happy!!!!"

Cons: "Despite wearing a down coat, scarf, and hat, and holding my bag in my lap, I was freezing cold the entire flight. This was after the flight attendant let me move towards the back of the plane so I could be warmer than sitting up towards the doors. A December 6am flight with no heat? Ridiculous!"

Cons: "I did not go to Edmonton, and was not notified. They placed me on a non stop from Vancouver to Chicago. It was lucky that I caught the change."

Cons: "1) Seats barely recline beyond 90 degrees. 2) Food was unimpressive. 3) Paying for cocktails on a long haul flight is absurd. 4) Instructed to "download a ridiculous app" for entertainment. 5) finally downloaded stupid app but didn't have my laptop available as it was in checked baggage so tried to watch a bad movie on my IpHone...??? 6) Outlet to plug my power sources for mobile devices into was not functioning."

Pros: "The crew was competent"

Pros: "Crew was honest. Provided ice water."
Cons: "Prop plane didn't have air conditioning (flight 4989) thank God it was only 45 minutes and FA provided ice water."

Cons: "Flight cancelled due to weather at ohare despite the fact that many other flights were still going. First delayed, sat around for hours, then cancelled almost 3 hours post scheduled departure time. No hotel voucher provided. Rebooked, but not done correctly so when I tried to check in, it was discovered that I didn't actually have a rebooking, requiring additional calls and second rebooking."

Pros: "Pilot was very nice!! Co-pilot too!!!"

Pros: "Friendly, attentive staff. Great seats with plenty of leg room."

Cons: "My flight to Dulles was delayed and I would have missed my connecting flight to Houston. I revised my flights to American. No alert from United that I would miss connecting flight due to delay"
