Cons: "My only complaint with all of the airlines is allowing people to check their bags free at the gate when others have done the required thing of paying for checked bags. It is obvious that people are taking advantage if this. It would be great to see something more fair take place."

Pros: "I was impressed that the entire team seemed to care that we were being inconvenienced. It was a very nice touch that refreshments were being offered at the gate and that we were told when the next update would be. All updates were on time. In addition, our captain (Mark) came to the gate and spoke to all of us expressing his concern for what had happened to us. He also made a nice presentation on the plane and got us going right away. The free ear buds were also a great touch. Even though the situation was bad, you made a customer for life with the way your team responded to the situation. Well done!"

Pros: "The kiosk to check in didn't work and there were no staff present to accommodate the customers. The only option was to join a long line to see a rep at the booth. There should be alternatives to expedite the process. To have at minimum three kiosks out of service on a busy travel day is unacceptable. Also, the flight took off about 20 minutes or more late. Lastly, the gate to board changed and the person making the announcement mispronounced the name of the country 'Grenada' more than one time. (pronouncing it as Grenadia)"

She never brought them and maybe she forgot but She sat in the front on her phone the whole flight which was just irritating. After being delayed (for no apparent reason) Then having to sit for 20+ minutes because of a “jet bridge that’s too cold” (aren’t these made for the out doors?) this JB flight was less than satisfactory."

Flight crew was nice....calmed me down but lady in seat next to me was rude.....not anyone's fault but hers :)"

I appreciated the fact that they were being through for our safety, but catch that before you have people board."

Coming back was worse after multiple delays, they cancelled the flight. they put me on a flight for next day with 2 connections which will reach ny almost 20 hrs later, no aplogises, no hotel room. After more calls put me in another United flight later that night which also finally got cancelled. I had to book a new flight with delta and paid $460 on the spot for that. Still awaiting my refund from American for the return leg which was cancelled and left a lady traveling alone stranded at Detroit airport in the night. Apology or compensation -- forget it, you will never get that! Only now if they can refund my cancelled flight..."

Cons: "The flight was originally scheduled to take off at 8:20 pm, but due to several delays did not end up getting off the ground until after 11 pm. After being in the air for about 45 minutes we were informed that there were issues with the engine and that we would be turning around and heading back to Dallas. By this point it was after midnight, and although I was appreciative that safely is a priority, there was no communication as to what the next steps were. After landing we were finally told that we would have to deplane, and after we sat around the gate for awhile we were informed that the flight would be delayed until 5 am. Being 12:50 am at this point a hotel would have been nice, but we were informed that AA was "out of hotels" but that if we wanted we could have a $12 food voucher to use at the one restaurant that was open several terminals over. The AA employee assisting in handing out the food vouchers seemed extremely unapologetic about the situation which didn't help with the frustration everyone was feeling. I will not be booking with AA again, and will be passing along my negative experience to family and friends. It is worth spending the extra money on a ticket for an airline that is more reliable with better customer service."

If I made a change to my itinerary with American for any reason, I would be charged a $150 change fee. I don't understand why American cannot pay me a $150 change fee for a change that American Airlines initiated in my itinerary - for any reason. Fair is fair and this is not fair."
