The flight was delayed for over an hour while they tried to find a crew for the flight. The flight crew that eventually showed up were friendly and did a good job. However, getting in at 1:00AM meant that the airport was mostly closed when we arrived.

Cons: "American isn’t my preferred airline for obvious reasons (delays, notoriously bad service, old planes, and a lack of amenities like WiFi and tv’s), but now I’ll never spend my money with them again. They took me off an already delayed flight after I’d already boarded to examine my smart bag. I know that lithium batteries can’t be taken in the underbelly of the plane and I knew my bag would likely be checked at the gate (why I removed the battery and left it at home in the first place). When they asked me if I had a lithium battery in my bag I said “no.” They then gate checked the bag and allowed me on the plane. After everyone had been boarded (half an hour after we’d been scheduled to take off) they then called my name out on the speaker. I had to then de-board the plane and re-explain to staff that there was no lithium battery in my bag. The staff didn’t believe me citing the infallible logic: “there are ports so there’s a battery.” I told them again and again that the battery had been removed and the charging ports—while there—were inert as they weren’t attached to the battery. STILL, I had to remove all of my clothes from the bag, and open every single compartment (of which there were many) for them to allow me to get back onto the plane. They were telling me that they might have to “rebook the flight” if my bag couldn’t get on. I don’t think I need to explain how agitated/terrified that made me."

Because of this, I pulled my shoes out and put them in a collapsible bag that fit under the seat in front of me along with my small personal bag as I had done on my previous flight. However, the gate agent would not allow me to board the plane and would not listen to my explainations at all as I tried to keep the boarding process moving along. She kept repeating "you have 3 bags" and made me steep out of line and check my carry-on (which I would then have to pick up at baggage claim). When I asked why I couldn't get out on the jetway like she had done for other passengers she said, " I only did that for airline employees" (quick happened to be a flight attendant from Spirit). My overall experience on both flights to and from Detroit was that the gate agents and flight attendants were the most unhelpful and rude airline employees I have delt with and I will stick to my preferred carrier, Delta, for my future flights back and forth to Detroit. They certainly make me feel like a valued customer when I fly them, which I did not feel with American."

Everything was actually very good except for the fact that they delayed the flight 3 times for a total of 4 hours when the flight was supposed to be at 8:30pm. So that made for an extremely late landing (2.5 hour flight), and if we had the wrong rental car company, we would have missed our rental checkout time.

I don't know what universe y'all live in, but in this one, you have to move close to the carousel to lift your bag. So the sensor tripped like three times and people were unhappy."

Pros: "Nowadays the gate closes 10 minutes before takeoff which really helps get the plane off on time as we can make connections. Some may not know this and find it frustrating. As a regular traveler I appreciate the move."

Cons: "Our plane was delayed leaving Grand Rapids. Once in Houston there was no gate available causing another 10 minute delay. All bags were required to be checked plane side so once we finally got off the plane it took another 10 minutes to get our bags. Many passengers had tight connections and had to rush to their next flight. My connection was already tight as it was - and I had to go to a completely different terminal very far from where I was to catch it. Five of us were on that flight connecting to San Diego. We finally made it to the gate. The plane was still there but the door was closed so we were not allowed to board. It was the last flight out so we were stranded in Houston overnight. This caused me to miss a very important medical appointment this morning - and to have to cancel client sessions leading to a significant loss of income."
Pros: "United always has the cleanest planes I've been on the offer a lot for what they have."
Cons: "Seats are a little tight. I'm a 6'4" male knees always in the back of a seat makes for an uncomfortable ride. However the seats are the most comfortable one been on in a nation wide travel."
Pros: "The people were pretty nice. The cabin was quiet and dark for the long part of our trip. That was good because we were worn out from our stay in OKC. There weren't as many people on the flight from Houston to Seattle as there were on the Seattle to Houston part of our trip, so we were able to stretch out!"
Cons: "My chair was malfunctioning, and when the flight attendant asked me to put it in its upright position I could not comply immediately. I told her it was faulty, and she just kept saying push the button, which I was clearly doing. She didn't yell, but was stern and loud to the point where I started to become frustrated with her. At this point my girlfriend reached back and pulled the chair forward while I mashed the button hard. I don't feel like I should be the one held responsible for your faulty mechanism. I was already tired, uncomfortable, and she added miffed to the equation. We were already delayed and had to deboard and reboard after we had a 3 hour layover in the boring Houston airport."
Pros: "I was in one of the stretched seats, loved it! The extra room was very noticeable and learned they recline a bit too!"

Cons: "Frontier has mastered the art of a cheaply run airline that nickel and dimes you to death with extra fees for EVERYTHING. The Airbus A319 was equipped with hard shell seats with a tiny flip down tray large enough to barely hold two plastic cups with the tightest seat pitch I've ever encountered and rigidly upright non-reclining backs. They made Lufthansa seating a Cadillac by comparison. The tall guy behind me's feet stick out between my feet because he literally had no where else to put them. It's as if they tried to make the plane as uncomfortable as possible. I've flown across the Atlantic in a military transport on nylon webbing seats that were far less painful. There's a fee for baggage, even carry-ons, and for everything in the cabin, including water. The fares aren't cheap either, but I had to get to OKC for the weekend and American and Southwest were fully booked. Only Frontier had seats available, and now I know why. If it's too expensive for you to fly a decent plane, Frontier, just shut it down and save the traveling public a lot of aggravation and discomfort. if it's a choice between Frontier and the bus, take the bus!"

Cons: "Going from PHX to DTW I didn't recieve any confirmation email 24 hrs in advance. The AC in the cabin wasnt working and was unbearably hot. From DTW to PHX still didn't get a confirmation email 24 hrs in advance again with any policys or check in. Arrived "on time" but wouldn't let us and other paying customers through to our gate...wanted to make me pay additionally for our return flight the NEXT day when we both had to miss work. Was very disappointed with customer service and the way thinga were handled from the beginning. Frontier has really declined as of recent. Supposed to be going on a trip in October and initially was going to use frontier but not sure I will be any longer. Wouldn't recommend to anyone after that."

Cons: "Paid $366 for a flight that would normally cost me < $250. Get charged EXTRA to pick a damn seat, both ways. Get charged MORE to check a bag each way. DON'T get ANY complimentary snack or drink, but SURPRISE, they ARE available for PURCHASE. There is NO in flight entertainment...not tv, not music...nothing. And, the seats do not recline...at all. Oh, did I mention this was a bereavement flight, which apparently airlines don't even acknowledge anymore?"

Pros: "I liked the bundle package of a carry on, a checked bag and stretch seating. A fair price for the extras and the stretch seating is definitely a must!"
Cons: "I wasn't really impressed by the general lack of kindness from the flight attendants. Seemed like they hated their jobs and didn't want to be doing it. Didn't really want to ask for anything because I felt like I was inconveniencing them."

Cons: "Officially the worst chair I have ever been seated in. Not just on an airplane, the worst chair I have ever had the displeasure to sit upon. Even when the plane was not as full, there was no way to get a single moment of comfort."

Cons: "When I booked the flight I was not given any information about paying for baggage ahead of time. Much to my surprise when we checked in we found out that carry on baggage was not free, and that we would have to pay to check bags. The plane itself felt especially cramped, crowded and flimsy."

In addition, when I went to check into my flight there was no attendent at the ticketing counter because there was no flight for 2 hours. The whole reason I get to the airport early is so I can battle the TSA line not wait to check in."
Cons: "First they delayed the flight for X then they downgraded the airplane so that it would be a full flight then they overbooked the flight"

Cons: "The airline had a hidden Carry On Luggage Charge that blindsided me. The combined cost of taking a carry on cost over half the amount of my roundtrip airfare for three people. Other airlines provide complimentary carry ons as a service to their customers. On top of this the flight was delayed by more than six hours and we were not offered any sort of refreshments on the flight free of charge to compensate for the large delay and overall made the experience poor. I will never fly with frontier again and would neither recommend the company to my clients or friends. I demand a refund on the charge of my carry on luggage as that was a shady business practice and poor service by frontier airlines for also delaying my flight."

Cons: "Although we arrived early to our destination we had to wait an extremely long time for our luggage to arrive on the carousel... Employees walking around when asked why the delay they did not have an answer didn't seem like they cared."

Cons: "For starters when checking in at the ticket booth they don't take cash. I had to buy a prepaid card and pay 45 with card fee to check one 30lbs bag. Then I had to sit in one of the most uncomfortable seats. Everything on flight as far as drinks and snacks went was purchase only . no wifi was available not even to purchase.. Then when I got to my destination my bags where not there I had to wait till 4:45pm the next day. No refund was given for baggage check they made it seem like it was no big deal."
