Cons: "I got assigned seats but when we got our boarding passes we were seated several rows apart, not in the seats I got when tickets were purchased months earlier. So we got reassigned to near back of plane, not at window seats, near several families with small loud children!! Not pleasant!"

I turned around and walked away to avoid conflict. He was being overly dramatic and completely rude and several people clapped when I responded"

Cons: "Boarding was delayed due to the plane not being ready. Baggage handling absolutely destroyed my wife’s new luggage. Her suitcase came with a cover to help keep it clean. The cover was ripped in several locations and the whole side of her suitcase was blown out. We will have to purchase new luggage."

Pros: "The crew was great. No leg room, seats and isles were too narrow. Had a soggy turkey wrap both going to and coming from Honolulu. It was not what I expected from AA. Will not fly AA again on a long haul."

Pros: "After the initial delay, the female desk agent got us on another connecting flight without a problem. Second flights attendant was also great."
Cons: "They boarded the plane, only to tell us they had to de-ice, which is understandable. However, after waiting 20 min for the de-icing that never came, they made us get back off the plane because of mechanical issues. The captain/pilot was rude to the woman working the desk over the radio, to the point where she had to leave the desk and go speak to him in person (she knew we could hear everything.) That conversation is also how the whole line of people was informed that then knew about this mechanical issue since the night before, and chose not to fix it before boarding all of us. After getting to Philadelphia later than expected, we were forced to pay for hotel food that was horrible and overpriced. Only to then have our plane be delayed AGAIN because of mechanical issues, again the pilot not giving much information to the attendant she was faced by a room of 40 angry people and had no answers. The departure time slowly crawled out longer, and the only reason I knew was because of having the American app. Information/communication on all ends was poor. I usually fly Allegiant, which is notoriously “cheap,” and I’ve never had an experience like this. Happy my boyfriend has flown with American before and knew to give us an extra day so we didn’t miss the wedding we paid $800 in airline tickets to attend. Just disappointed."

Pros: "Because the flight wasn't full we passengers in the main cabin had the chance to spread out a bit more, which was great on such a long flight. Also the flight attendant let me have my scotch for free! Hooray!"
Cons: "Without power at each seat it's difficult to take advantage of the otherwise free entertainment that is only accessible through the app or on a laptop. There was a DC power outlet at my seat (not all of the seats in the main cabin even have that) but guess what--it required a cigarette-lighter-style adapter to plug in. I certainly don't travel around with one of those! And most of the other seats in the main cabin had no access to power at all. My battery wouldn't possibly last through a 7-hour-plus flight without supplementary power. Oh well, fortunately there are still books and magazines. Just like old times. Be more like United or any other international airline, American!"

We explain then that our 19 months got car sick so we were cleaning him on the curb and they refuse to check us in and tell us we were too late. Even if we beg them as we were going to Paris to spend Xmas with our family. No flight for us ..."

Cons: "Our flight out of Montgomery, AL was cancelled TWICE! We never made it to Charlotte to take this flight. AA was difficult to deal with in rebooking. My family ended up missing several events surrounding my niece's wedding and the individuals with whom I spoke didn't even seem to care."

Pros: "The business class cabin is one of the best in the business with a great seat and onboard product. The food was good and the snack bar is great for when you need something mid-flight. American has one of the best selections of inflight entertainment with tons of movies and TV shows available for their long-haul flights."
Cons: "Boarding at Sydney International Airport was a bit of a chore. There is a pre-screening area where they check passports and boarding passes prior to reaching the gate. People are randomly selected for secondary screening. Give yourself extra time to board."

I gave a snack pack back to a FA bc of my allergies and she snatched it out of my hand while walking by me without even looking at me...my husband's jaw dropped, he saw it too. It was unbelievable how rude they were."

Pros: "Fairly regular updates from Captain, approx every 15-30 minutes. Flight attendants were ok, performed duties as expected. Announcements were difficult to hear over sound system. I don't know if Captain and the flight attendants were soft-spoken, or if the volume was not turned high enough, but I could hear less than have of what was said over the audio system."
Cons: "On the plane for approx six hours. Sat for two hours at the gate, then another hour on the tarmac. Would have been more bearable, but AA's seats are sooooooo close together, that there is nowhere near enough room to stretch legs when weather causes delays. AA's seats are the most uncomfortable (in regard to space and lumbar support) of the three major airlines."

Also, after e a very trying day, I was anxious to get home, and the luggage didn't arrive until 90 minutes after touchdown. I guess that's what they mean by priority service- first on the plane and last off."

Cons: "American destroyed my family vacation. They took four days to not get us to Dublin. Stranded us in Chicago and had to use my own money to fly back to California without a vacation. Don't do it."

Pros: "The guy at the check in counter was awesome, even though his English wasn't great. He upgraded me to the exit row seats since my legs are long; usually you need to pay for this. The seats were huge and comfortable, though the arm rests didn't move, so you could stretch out (the flight wasn't that full)."
Cons: "One flight attendant was basically rude to everyone. She was so comically unfriendly that people on the plane were actually mocking her (for good reason). She refused to explain to us how the emergent slide worked. We asked because the visual instructions on the door were different from those in the seat back pamphlet. In fact, I still don't know which directions are the correct ones (they were contradictory)."

Cons: "I never experienced the flight because I wasn't given a seat. The airline oversold the flight and I never got to go. I missed my once in a lifetime experience because the airline is greedy at my (and other people's) expense. I missed out on a priceless experience. Not only that, the bag that I checked did not make it off the flight so I remained in DC while my bag went to Medellin. I had to purchase new toiletries and had to make arrangements to get back to the airport. As of now, I do not plan on choosing American Airline nor LATAM for my future flights."
