Pros: "Excelente service both of my flights departed on time and arrived early to the destination!! For basic economy there was great seat space, entertainment and multiple meals for 4+ hr flight with alcohol included!! Will be flying with Copa again!"

Pros: "The crew offered water couple of times during the whole flight. There was no choice of food, only chicken, and I don’t eat chicken, so for dinner the crewmen offered extra salads, so I would have something to eating and advice to ask for special dietary for my flight back."

We were never asked about the infant traveling until we went to check in at the desk and were told we needed to pay taxes for the baby at a rate of 10% of the cost of the ticket. But because we were doing it on the day of the flight, 10% was almost $200! We did not receive good customer service from staff, who simply told us we "should have known to investigate this." We have never been asked to do this when flying with a baby before! This was after an hour and a half of already waiting to check in our bags. We were waiting so long and dealing with this issue for so long that we almost missed the flight! A terrible experience. Also, the web check in line took even longer than the line of people who had not checked in online beforehand! It was so slow, it added to us almost missing our flight. It was a waste of time to check in online, especially since they gave us new boarding passes when we checked our bags in anyway. We also had trouble finding both of our reservations, even though we booked them together as a family, so we ended up with seats that were not together. When we had an issue, we were given an attitude by the staff checking us in."

When we missed our connecting flight due to weather the airline had everything figured out before we even landed. It was very organized and they apologized for the inconvenience to us."

She did everything she could to help me as they arranged to get me on the next flight and as I waited and boarded. The other agent serving at that same desk also helped. I am sorry I did not get her name. No one could have been nicer than Ana was to me."
Cons: "When I arrived in Panama my boarding pass said the flight from Panama to Quito was leaving from Gate 20. I checked with the departure information and did not see Quito on the list. I made the mistake of not checking the time. And therefore waited and waited at gate 20 for the flight to Panama which by that time I had missed. And saw later that the gate had been changed at the last to Gate 24. I thought it would have been nice if Copa could have posted the change at Gate 20 . I would not have missed the flight."

Pros: "I was bumped from an overbooked Copa flight and was offered another that would get me home at 1am (rather than 3pm) or an overnight stay and a flight the next morning. Instead of trying to find a way home from the airport (a 1+ hour ride) in the middle of the night, I opted to stay in Panama overnight. Copa put me up in a very nice Sheraton in downtown Panama City with a pool, several restaurants, a casino... They gave me $20 per meal I'd be staying for (lunch, dinner, and the following breakfast), arranged a shuttle to and from the airport, and, the best part, a $1000 voucher for future flights with Copa within the next year - enough for two more round trip flights."
Cons: "Communication was minimal or false. When I checked my bag, the agent told me that I was being placed on standby because of a weight limit on the plane. She assured me that the flight wasn't full and that I would absolutely get a seat. When I got to the gate, there was minimal information available, but about 12-15 people were on standby, including two families of 4 and 5 people. The agents were ill-informed and didn't immediately explain why so many of us were on standby and whether anyone would make it on the plane, or what the other options were for those who wouldn't make it on the plane. Eventually four or five people boarded, another few got moved to a later flight, and 6 including me were put up in a hotel. Betzy, a gate agent for Copa at Tocumen, was absolutely wonderful and so helpful and informative with all of this."

She came by and immediately took my order for a drink ask me what kind of dinner I would like and ensured I had everything I needed. In addition, the seats were extremely spacious and allowed me to recline almost fully. Definitely enjoyed the flight a ton more and would fly again."

Cons: "They overbooked the flight and I was left out in Panama an additional 9 hours until the next flight out to SF. They were also very unwilling to accommodate me in a nearby hotel all expenses paid to wait for those hours as compensation...but gave first class tickets to other passengers as compensation."

Cons: "One member of the crew who focused on first class passengers complained about having to pick up trash, having to stay in Birmingham, and was just unpleasant. The AA system was down in Charlotte which effected everything. The attendant at the gate was very, very short with several passengers. There was not enough AA ground crew at our destination to allow us to embark. They couldn’t move the jetway and unload bags at the same time so we just had to sit there for 30 minutes. At 12:30am."

Cons: "American isn’t my preferred airline for obvious reasons (delays, notoriously bad service, old planes, and a lack of amenities like WiFi and tv’s), but now I’ll never spend my money with them again. They took me off an already delayed flight after I’d already boarded to examine my smart bag. I know that lithium batteries can’t be taken in the underbelly of the plane and I knew my bag would likely be checked at the gate (why I removed the battery and left it at home in the first place). When they asked me if I had a lithium battery in my bag I said “no.” They then gate checked the bag and allowed me on the plane. After everyone had been boarded (half an hour after we’d been scheduled to take off) they then called my name out on the speaker. I had to then de-board the plane and re-explain to staff that there was no lithium battery in my bag. The staff didn’t believe me citing the infallible logic: “there are ports so there’s a battery.” I told them again and again that the battery had been removed and the charging ports—while there—were inert as they weren’t attached to the battery. STILL, I had to remove all of my clothes from the bag, and open every single compartment (of which there were many) for them to allow me to get back onto the plane. They were telling me that they might have to “rebook the flight” if my bag couldn’t get on. I don’t think I need to explain how agitated/terrified that made me."

We had this once with Delta as well but they send you the new itinerary in front with a compensation and help you at the airport... For us it's never AA again"

Also, charging $125 for a carry-on pet that has to stay under the seat AND having it count towards as one of my two "free" carry-ons is ridiculous. The flight was delayed because one of the crew was late."

It was almost always and grunt and what do you want? The personal device entertainment was very buggy. the movie I tried to watch kept skipping, like on old scratched CD."

I believe that LGA or American Airlines should refund my expenses, because otherwise it makes me not want to ever go through either again."

I discovered change when I arrived to check luggage curbside at EWR. 3 hours of stop and go traffic to get there. See other box re kiosk problems. Boarding pass didn't have my TSA FTN so had to go back. Could not check luggage curbside. Got seat in last row when I noticed boarding pass had no seat assignment. They lost my luggage at SFO. There's more, but..."

I ended up in Myrtle Beach South Carolina, another time in Columbia South Carolina and the last time in Charlotte North Carolina. Lufthansa gives you a number to call but they are open only 9-5 weekdays; when I called their regular office, I listened to a very annoying message routing for 15 minutes before hanging up. They have to work this out better, though I must say that at the United gate I could print it out easily at the machine, and the staff there was exceptionally helpful"

Cons: "All of the screens on the side of the cabin I sat in did not work so even if we chose to pay the ridiculous fees for content it wasn't an option. Charging $16 for internet is gouging to the extreme. Truthfully, I would choose to pay a little more for my ticket if I knew that United did not cram people in like sardines, provided good quality free internet, provided free video content (on consoles that worked), and provided a small snack (better than a little wafer)."

Cons: "The departure monitor first said "on time," then "awaiting aircraft," with ever-later estimates for departure. There was little confidence that there would even be a plane."

Pros: "United made this a very comfortable flight! Boarding was quick, flight attendants (especially Adrian!) were very kind and went out of their way to make sure passengers were comfortable. I will definitely fly United for future international flights!"
Cons: "Lunch served before 11am EST, right after snack and drink service."

Pros: "I love the check in process!! You go to a kiosk and print your boarding pass and luggage tag and then just go and hand in your bag to an agent. Soooo easy. Then no ones in line forever. I was very impressed with the little extra amount of leg space that is not always on most planes. The flight wasn't very full and the crew was kind and generous with a couple of us wanting to switch our seats around. The tvs in the back of the headrest definitely kept me occupied watching New Girl. Overall, I was very comfortable and got to my destination without getting upset or angry once...which can't be said for all airlines."
Cons: "The security line for united in Newark was RIDICULOUS! It didn't take very long to get through...maybe 30-45 minutes (which I planned for) but the line snaked through two floors and wrapped through the check in area. It just looked incredibly daunting. But I realize that there isn't really much that can be done about that!"

Pros: "Customer service at Dulles was helpful"
Cons: "My trip was jacked up on both ends, starting with cancelled flight at 11 p.m. the night before, phone calls to United to change flights on the way out, and then maintenance on the way back home, which caused me to miss my connection in Dulles. Horrible accommodations, bad replacement flights, baggage service in Syracuse was dishonest and apathetic. All around bad."

Cons: "Had to change plans because the septic line wasn't taken care of so the lines were frozen. The plane wasn't warmed up for us to board. We were told to exit the plane and go to another terminal but never explaned to take the shuttle . I took the Tran and had to go back through security and almost missed the plane. I was the last person to board. This was my 1st time traveling to that airport. No way to know that the Tran would require me to pass through security checkpoint again. Get better communication with people. The lady at the desk was just saying go to terminal A! They should have had a person directing all of us to go to the shuttle and bussed us to the terminal."

Cons: "The inside of the plane felt 50 years old. Completely uncomfortable."

Cons: "It took 6 hours to get from Newark to Tampa, had to detour to refuel.. The weather on the ground seems decent but we were in so much turbulence for so long people were vomiting!! Worst flight experience ever and the pilot, thank God for his experience, was a bit sarcastic and said he wouldn't apologize for the bad experience bc it wasn't his fault."
