Most of the staff was very helpful and accommodating. On the first leg of the flight one of the attendants even suggested a wine with dinner, a very kind gesture.
When my husband and I went to check in for our flight at the desk we had to wait very long time to get checked in. We noticed that one of the girls was in training, which is understandable but just inconvenient. We are both very patient people but this just made us nervous because our first flight on Air China to Japan on 10/26/17 was very delayed and caused us to have to literally run and still go through a rigorous security check. We were not rushed through the line even though we had nothing to do with our flight being delayed on our second leg. We then had to wait in another long line for security even after arriving into China on our flight back. There was also someone on board before take off with a medical problem and we could tell that some of the patrons started getting a bit aggressive or irritable. I don’t think the crew could’ve done much in that regard but wish the issue had been resolved a little quicker. I believe it was a 40 minute delay in take off.

The seats had more room so it was easy to get comfortable and sleep.
Didn't like that there was no one there to answer any questions. The ladies there brushed off anyone who showed up by tossing a paper with a new departure time at them. The didn't even attempt to understand other questions. Plus the flight was delayed an hour.
Absolutely no customer service whatsoever, not even a smile. Best thing about this flight was the food and trust me that’s not saying much.
Doesn't matter if your economy or first class. First one to the gate gets in. Good for me because I always fly economy.
Typical Chinese service, poor. Will never fly Air China ever again. Only reason why I book the ticket because it was cheap, now I know why.
The crew was very rude, I was told I had to store my purse, the person next to me wouldn't store the carry on baggage, I needed to take scheduled medicine in flight, I couldn't as my purse was stowed. I was delayed for over and hour and a half after arriving. I had to stop and eat in the airport. With chronic health issues addressed this way I will probably not use United again.
Again expectation can get in the way. And of course the airline needs for flights to be as full as possible. In order to be profitable in the long run. We all want them to be able to stay in business

Smaller seats, no video or music options on a almost four hour flight. Why United why?

I guess San Francisco ATC (Air Traffic Control) decided the plane couldn’t leave San Fran until way past our take off time. Then it takes two plus hours to get the plane here unload and refuel and rest. So I missed my connecting flight to Redding. Which meant I had to fly to Sacramento. Then I had a pleasant 3 hour drive on I-5 (can you sense my sarcasm?!) didn’t reach my destination until 5 in the FREAKING morning. Around 8 HOURS LATE TO MY DESTINATION
