I guess pro is they let me on but is this really necessary in these times? She didn’t let out a peep even though she was in the equivalent of a large man in a small seat. I’m never flying JetBlue again. Thanks but everyone else can use my travel money."

First the airlines let terrorists make travel a pain and now covid has the process so crazy half the time I just stay home. What could have been better how about everything. Lack of food lack of courteously how about youm some kindness and understanding

Very pleasant.

Check-in was a nightmare. At least half the self-serve kiosks were out of printer paper so were out of service. It was chaos. No one was directing traffic, so you had to hope you were in the right line. We finally got to a kiosk and checked in, and printed one bag tag for checked baggage. We were in line to drop off the checked bag, and the lady working that station just walked away and didn’t come back. After we waited a bit, another person in line went to ask at the nearby counter if the bag check person was coming back, and she wasn’t, so we had to find a new line and wait all over again. Once we got our bag dropped off and our tickets, the rest was easy. The security line went quickly, and the terminal was clean and nice. Our flight was great and the flight crew was excellent. I think if someone had kept up with the kiosk printers, a lot of the check-in headaches and stress would have been solved.

They treated me with derision and ridicule because my previous flight was with a different airline, an airline that is closely enough associated with American that they booked me on an American flight. It should have been possible to at least talk to someone that could address my situation but now I'm stuck with the likely loss of something important to me and a strong dislike of American airlines. I'm probably just salty because it happened yesterday though. I'll get over the jacket eventually and probably fly with American again. But I will always resent them."

I understand that things happen, but most of the problems today seem to have been preventable. First, our plane in Lihue was delayed for over 3 hours because they could not get a working fuel truck to fill the plane. Three hours? This caused us to miss our connection in LA, although just barely. We had to wait onboard so that we could use the same gate that our outgoing plane was departing from. If we had just been sent to a different gate we. Oils have made our original flight. So, they put us on a flight to Chicago because there were no more flights to Minneapolis. Then, once in Chicago the incoming plane was delayed and we sat on the tarmac for 40 minutes before deplaning. Then after an hour delay we were told the crew was on the ground and we were boarded. Sat in the plane for another hour, then we’re told we were still waiting for crew members that were delayed so we deplaned again. Another 90 minutes past and we got back on the plane and sat for another 45 minutes. We are finally pulling away from the gate. Hallelujah!"

So then I had to dig through it at the gate to remove lithium batteries and it took an additional 20+ minutes at MSP to get to baggage claim/wait/claim bag. There was plenty of room in overhead storage for my bag."

Cons: "Seats are very small. Boarding process could be improved. Seems some people board out of sequence and it screws up the process of stowing luggage and getting to your assigned seat. These same people bring in large over sized bags that will not fit in the above compartment or underneath the seat. Charging these individuals for these violations would deter them from engaging in this behavior. You might also want to add to your instructions how to disembark the plane, some individuals think their schedule is more important and rush up the isle in front of others who are trying to get their carry on luggage from the overhead compartment. Losers!!"
Cons: "I find this fairly serious! All people were boarded on the plane In a timely manor. We were then informed that one flight attendant had not made to the flight and we were to wait until the flight attendant arrived. We waited over 20 minutes for the employee to arrive to work rather late. This put out over 200 people for one irresponsible employee. In my business that employee would of been fired unless there was a very serious reason. So a full plane of passengers were inconvienced as well as many people that were helping the passengers what maybe 300 + for one employee! Doesn't make sense!"

Cons: "After having my flight delayed 4 hours causing me to miss my connection, I was placed stand by on a different flight through another city so I could try and make it home on time. I was the first person in line for stand by, but the flight was full so I knew it was a long shot. Waiting at the gate, I was excited because one person didn't show and they were giving him a two minute wait time before I could board. During this wait time a woman passenger came over and said she had just been given a ticket change at the gate counter. The agent at the gate was furious because the flight was sold out and said the woman should not have received a ticket, but should have been placed on stand by. She went over and scolded the other agent for this mistake. Okay, so she should've been placed on STAND BY behind me in line. After the unprofessional arguing between the two agents, they both admitted it was a mistake and she should be second in line for stand by, BUT they did not honor this and placed her on the plane bumping me. Needless to say, I missed my connecting flight because of this and extremely inconvenienced my family and in addition had to pay an extra 75 dollars out of my pocket to keep my dogs at their kennel an extra night because I arrived home 5 hours after expected. I understand that flights end up getting delayed and the agents are doing the best they can to accommodate travelers, but admitting a mistake and not fixing it to make it right is unacceptable. I notified American Airlines of my situation and only received a form letter with enough miles to get me 1/8 of a flight. I don't even care about the miles because I don't plan to ever fly with them again, I want the money for the dog kennel I had to pay extra. I was visiting my husband who serves in the US Army causing separation from our family for long periods of time and this extra headache and expense due to the mistake of American Airlines was disheartening."

I logged into "My Trips" yet at no time was there ever a link to make a flight change. Really disappointing considering I had very little time to spend doing this due to a family member being in the process of dying."

THEY DIDNT CARE AND THEY DIDNT APPROVE THR REFOUND OR ATLEAT A CREDIT .. SO FOR SURE I WILL REPORT THIS WITH THE BBB .. GOOGLE AND ALL SOCIAL MEDIA ... UNTIL I GET MY MONEY BACK Joselina cabrera"
Pros: "Now that I can bring one carry-on for free I am a happy lady. I know what to expect from Spirit and have never had any delayed flights, problem with seating or unfriendly staff. The flight crew was very thorough with their announcements and expectations. There were many empty seats on the flight and the crew was clear in announcing that once we are up in the air, folks could switch seats and spread out - which about 1/4 of the flight customers did! It was much more comfortable then. No complaints."
Pros: "Like the a la cart options pertaining to seat selection, security fast pass and cleanliness of the plane."
Cons: "Seats are rather uncomfortable and cramped compared to other airlines, especially noticeable when the flight is for more than an hour or two. The small panel that is referred to as a tray table is more like the size of an ashtray so forget about using your laptop in flight. They have not updated their policy as other larger airlines regarding mobile phones (must be in airplane mode). The flights are commonly delayed (no weather issues). If you look at the departure screens, only Spirit was delayed and included about 70% of their flights. And the baggage policy is a bit confusing as they consider my backpack and satchel as two carry on bags and asked me to combine them prior to boarding."
Cons: "Flight was delayed 50 minutes to begin with and we did get plenty of warning, I got an email in the morning stating my evening flight was delayed 50 minutes so I was prepared. But throughout the day I continued to get emails pushing the departure time back further and by the time I arrived at the airport it was a full 2 hours delayed. SUPER crowded gate area with multiple flights being asked to wait in one area, those flights were either delayed or canceled. Should have known better and paid a bit extra for a more reliable airline!"
Cons: "The booking process was very difficult. It didn't include baggage or seat fees which caused an addition $75 in fees on top of the ticket price. The check in process and baggage payment was horrible and had to be done by creating an online account. The origination flight was delayed causing a missed connection at Fort Lauderdale. Spirit customer service was nice, but they had zero resources to do anything. I had to re book on Southwest which was wonderful! They were so accommodating, and even tried to bring breakfast due to the horrible issues with Spirit."
Pros: "The flight crew was polite and attended to my needs and they were actually funny."
Cons: "I did not like the limited food selections and the small portions that were served. Also, I always like it when the pilot informs you of the area of the country you are flying over. For example I recently took a flight from Las Vegas Nevada to Melbourne Florida and that pilot on Delta explained where landmarks were all along the way. That is something comforting about a pilot connecting with his crew and the people aboard the flight. So I would really like that if Spirit would include that. Additionally I do like onboard entertainment but maybe the fares would have to reflect that."

I was not the only one either, just in the time in line waiting to check in, I was multiple people be caught off guard by the fees and seem frustrated. Seats do not lean back, interior of plane, very bare minimum. But it is an economy flight. This would be an airline to take if you just have a small backpack and no luggage whatsoever. Otherwise with luggage it is a much better deal and more comfortable to fly other airlines. Won't fly Spirit again."
Pros: "Tickets were super cheap! Kiosk check-in was a breeze, as was boarding. The plane felt pretty new, with comfy seats and decent leg room. The crew were professional and courteous, and many snack and drink options were available.. Any additional costs were very well indicated, in kiosk check-in, as well as the in-flight snack menu. Minor delay was well documented and announced (national ATC issue slowed the plane's arrival 15 minutes; accounting for that 15 minute shift, everything else ran on schedule)."
Cons: "Nothing is included. In exchange for those super cheap tickets, anything beyond the "one personal item" is charged a la carte, so plan to pay for any additional carryons, any luggage, seat choice, any (ANY) drink, snack, water, coffee, soda (but at least they seem to take plastic)."
Cons: "I had a prepaid direct flight from Atlanta to Minneapolis leaving at 10:40 a.m. Showed up at 10:05 & was told that I missed my flight. I said "but my flight doesn't leave until 10:40." They said: "yes, but your check-in time is 45 minutes before the plane departs". I said: "but no one told me this." They said: "It's on our website." That's terrible customer service in my book & a con on unsuspecting consumers. There should be a class action lawsuit on disclosures like that. Another couple ahead of me in line had the exact same thing happen to them! I booked another flight on Southwest Airlines without incident but have apparently lost my prepaid fare to fly on Spirit Airliner. They offered to fly me out the next day for a $99 rebooking fee but that cost almost as much as flying Southwest plus I would have to book a hotel or wait overnight. Terrible experience. Never again."
Cons: "They nickel and dime you for everything. By the time you've paid $42 for a bag (or a carry on), the ticket price is the same as the next cheapest flight. If you don't print your boarding pass at home, that is $10; if your bag is too heavy, that is an extra $30; if you want water on the plane, that is extra; if you want a seat assignment, that costs extra. 45 minutes before we landed the flight attendant went on a sales pitch about getting a Spirit credit card. It was unbelievable. Oh, and the seats don't recline at all. I will NEVER fly this airline again."
Cons: "I was running late because I got out of work late and then there was unusually terrible traffic from DC to Baltimore mid-day. The website wouldn't work to check in, the phone line had a 2 hour wait.. so I got to the airport 45 minutes before the flight was supposed to leave and I couldn't check in at the kiosk. By the time I waited in line, they wouldn't check me in with 30 minutes before the flight left, even though it was mid day so the security lines were short and I had TSA pre-check. The customer service agent, the manager and the manager's supervisor were all rude and unhelpful. The only flight was the next day, so they wouldn't re-book on any other airline.. so I was left to go buy another ticket from American as I had to be in Minneapolis that night. I don't recommend Spirit out of Baltimore to anyone."

Cons: "There was three desperate delays of our flight without any reason given. There were no customer service reps anywhere to be found during these delays to talk to. The gate at Logan airport for Spirit airlines is seperate from the rest of the airport so if you wanted to get any food or drinks you had to exit the gate and go through security again to get back in. None of the seats on the plane recline so you are sitting straight up in very uncomfortable chairs the entire flight. All of the power strips that were attached to the seats in the gate didn't work so you could charge your phone if you needed to. Also, on top of it all when you call customer service to file a complaint you wait on hold for 45 minutes and then they tell you to go to the website to file a complaint! What a joke of an airline. I will never fly with Spirit again no matter what."

Cons: "They emailed me at almost 11pm the evening before my 6 am flight stating that my flight had been cancelled with no reasoning. The website they guided to me showed my flight as still active. I then found a phone number to call which took 80+minutes to get a representative. She didn't even have the update showing that the flight had been cancelled. She told me to call back in 15 minutes. I told her that was assenine seeing that it would take another hour. The system finally updated. She was able to offer me a flight not on Friday at all but Saturday afternoon/evening. Taking over 30 hoursaway from my vacation. I asked to have my money refunded. They obliged but couldn't refund the 40 some dollars from the 3rd party sight which I booked through when clicking book on kayak. My whole weekend was ruined. Horrible."

And to check a bag it was $50 that I had no choice but to pay. The cheap tickets Spirit offers are just so sneaky because you end up paying so much in the end. Spirit is the worst airline."

I brought a "personal item" which is a laptop case with wheels and I was pulled out of line and marched to the gate desk where I was informed that it was too large to be a personal item and that I had to pay $100 to bring it on the plane. I said that I had been using this particular laptop case for years on multiple airlines and then fit it into the test receptacle provided but still had to pay the $100. I asked why not charge me the $40 for a carry-on and was told that was online only and that it's $100 at the gate. I have the Spirit credit card and mileage program, but did not feel like "a member of the Spirit family" and was ripped off."

Pros: "I guess if I were to say anything good about spirit it would be that the boarding went smoothly. I guess? About the same as any other airline."
Cons: "The was my first experience with sprit and will never use this airline again. They say, you get what you pay for. Really? Rude staff included? Both of our flights were overnight flights. People are tired and most of the time are going to try and get comfortable and maybe sleep? No way was that happening with how extremely small this plane was. I am an "average" size 28 year old female and I felt that I couldn't move at all. I can't imagine this flight being comfortable for anyone, of any size. I wasn't going to judge this airline on that alone, but of course, what everyone warns you of, delays. Delays on BOTH flights. So inconvenient for not only us but family members who are planning on picking us up. I will go ahead and remind you that people say, you get what you pay for. We each paid 350, not including the 152 dollars for seat selecting and baggage, and an extra 30 for oversized luggage. Seriously?! That is NOT cheap when compared to delta which allows a FREE carry on, checked bag for 25 bucks, some actual leg room, and a friendly staff. Never again. Super disappointed."

Cons: "Spirit charges you for EVERYTHING extra, including just choosing a seat. The problem I had was with bags. They are very expensive, less so if you join their frequent flyer-type club, which I did. I decided one of us would not bring a carry-on to save money. At the airport it appeared our one carry-on was actually small enough to be a "personal item," but there was no way to remove the charge that I had already paid. I wanted to remove it for the return trip, as well, but there is NO WAY to do that on the website. Their justification is not to create delays at the airport, but that doesn't make any sense. To make a long story short, I paid for bags and a club I didn't need."
Pros: "The crew were perfectly nice and had no problems."
Cons: "The flight was oversold and I found the gate agents to be difficult to work with. I purchased my ticket in advance and made it to the airport 2 hours early to check-in and was still not given a seat assignment. I was told 3 different times that there were enough volunteers and I would be on the flight. Those volunteers were told they were not needed and the gate agents told us, the remaining passengers "too bad, this happens, they have seats, you don't." I have worked with many gate agents and though I know there job is stressful, never have I encountered such rudeness and condescension. Also in all the disorganization, the flight left even later than the scheduled delay and people that boarded had to wait until the gate agents figured out the seat arrangements. I was willing to forgo comfort and amenities for price but this disorganization and failed customer service is unacceptable."
Cons: "My 96 year old mother's Spirit 342 flight from Phoenix to Minneapolis on Feb 2, 2017 was delayed. Things happen and that's life. However, after hearing from my sister in Minneapolis her flight was delayed I attempted to call Spirit Airlines to get the rescheduled information. I tried many, many times and was not able to speak with a Spirit customer service agent. In fact, there was no option on the Spirit phone message to press a number to speak with an agent. I ended up calling the Phoenix Skyharbor Security who sent an employee over to Terminal 2, Gate 2 to look for my mother. She was not found after checking Gate 2 and several other gates. The scheduled 3:07pm departure was rescheduled to depart at 5:30pm which I found out around 7:00 pm Phoenix time. This was a frightening experience for our family given my mother's age of 96 years. Fortunately, my mother was OK. She stated she and everyone else stood in line at the Spirit counter for 1 1/2 hours waiting for departure information. There was an agent at the counter but he/she did not provide any departure information let alone the reason(s) for the delayed flight. It would have been helpful to everyone held up by the delay to have been given an honest reason for the delay. It seems reasonable that Spirit would at least offer a phone number to speak with an agent who could provide information. (The Spirit website indicated Flight 342 was rescheduled to the next morning (Feb 3) with a departure of 8:00 am. This incorrect information complicated the whole situation). We will never put my mother on another Spirit flight and will think very carefully about using Spirit Airlines again."
Pros: "In purchasing a Spirit flight I am aware that no "frills" are included. I expect uncomfortable seats, no free snacks or drinks, and staff that is generally less professional. You get what you pay for. And the price matches the service."
Cons: "I live two hours from the airport I departing from. My flight was early in the morning, so I made plans to leave for the airport with plenty of time to make it to the airport. Unfortunately due to blizzard conditions, I knew I would be unable to safely make it to the airport by the time my flight would take off. I called customer service, during my first call I was hung up on, so I called again. The operator tried to tell me that he didn't see any weather conditions that should have prevented me from making it to the airport so he wouldn't help me transfer my flights. I was made to cancel my original departing flight and purchase a new departing flight, for twice the cost of what I had originally paid for my round trip flight. The only decent thing the operator did for me what waive the flight cancellation fee. I understand fees and charges to keep other flights as cheap as possible, however, at some point your customer service should accommodate your fliers when its extenuating circumstances. Highly disappointed. Unlikely to fly with them again."
Pros: "That was the most turbulent flight I have ever been on, even in a small aircraft. When we were landing in MSP we encountered severe winds and the pilot had to make and abort 2 landing attempts. On the third attempt we were able to land. I've never been on an airplane where so many people were throwing up before! The pilot handled the difficult winds, and massive snowstorm perfectly and I absolutely can't thank him enough. I can't believe we didn't get diverted to Chicago or crash. The flight attendants and other crew are in very good spirits considering the airline they are working for."
Cons: "Spirit s luggage weight allowance is 10 pound less than the other airlines. That makes it difficult to pack winter clothing and boots. Their baggage fees are also higher than other airlines, but you can carry less! The "bare fare" is incredibly annoying, they even charge you for water on the airplane. There is no food available, or maybe one small snack. The seats are so small. I'm 5 feet 4 inches tall and weigh 120 pounds and I feel uncomfortable I can't imagine what a tall or average sized person goes through. The seats are so incredibly hard like you are sitting on a wooden bench. This is one of those cases where you really get what you pay for - a low price comes with a lot of discomfort and frustration. I would never fly on this airline on a flight over 4 hours. The suffering would not be worth saving money. The staff does their best to treat you kindly but you can plainly see they are dealing with difficult circumstances and being pushed to their breaking point. They have to deal with so many miserable, uncomfortable people. I feel bad for them."
Pros: "The flights themselves were adequate, glad I am only 5'8" or it would be very uncomfortable for a larger person."
Cons: "The hidden carry on fees being added at time of departure are deceptive. As a first time Spirit Airlines customer I fell into their business model and was trapped into paying $55 each way for my carry on bags. All attempts to discuss with the ground crew and customer service my disappointment and request for a refund were met with delays and deception hoping I would give up on getting my $110 back for the hidden carry on fee. At this juncture I am disputing the charges with my credit card company and will have to see what happens."
Pros: "Very cheap flight! Nice attendants. Good pilot. I seriously didn't even feel the touchdown. I never experienced that before!"
Cons: "I was lucky enough to only be traveling with a small backpack - which is good - because if you didn't pre-pay for a carry-on, we were told by the gate agent it would be $65. And if you didn't come up and pay the $65 - it would be $100 when you boarded! What?! All economy seats are small now but at least they recline a little. These didn't - and they're smaller. The most painful flight I've ever had (only 6 feet tall) - the seat is stick straight! if you have a carry-on and especially luggage - just pay the extra for another airline. The price will definitely even out and you'll get a seat you can actually breath in! At one point they were trying to sell so many extras I thought they were going to start a time-share pitch. So unless you just have a back pack or purse - stick with another airline."
Cons: "The flight was overbooked and I was the extra passenger. The last passenger before me was from Africa and was unable to pay the $100 for the second bag she had at the gate. Your staff did not allow her in board, hence I made it. Your staff showed absolutely no empathy with the passenger, parroting that she had to pay otherwise she couldn't get on and at the stroke of 7:45am, they printed my ticket. The supervisor was just plane ride to her and me for interceding on her part. It was appalling to see such un-American hospitality! Spirit Airlines should be ashamed of such employee behavior."
Cons: "Tried to print tickets at kiosk at 6:15 pm for flight departure at 7 pm. Told to see an agent. Agent said check in time ended at 6:05. It was now 6:17, so it was closed and we couldn't get tickets. Could take a morning flight for one penny charge. We still had 27 minutes before departure. Asked to talk to manager. 5 minutes later, she reluctantly issued our tickets but said "we still may not make the flight." Security was very short, and we made it 10 minutes before departure. I will never again fly Spirit. This was the ultimate in poor custumer service. Also, we were never given an opportunity to check in on line and self print our tickets. Usually I receive an email 24 hrs ahead of departure day for opportunity to check in and print tickets. Did not receive an email prior to day of departure, and no where on my itinerary did it say that check in ended at 6:05. Never again. Will tell all about our experience. What a crock. You lost my business and my fiancee's as well."
Cons: "This shouldn't be under a cheap category. Considering that I had a carry on, I ended up paying and additional $120 for baggage. On my return flight I sat next to someone who for sure was on some sort of methamphetamine or heavy upper and could not sit still for a moment. or stop scratching herself. There is no phone line at all that gets you to a human to speak to... at all! So asking for specific flight details was impossible. To get a bottle of water on a 5.5 hour flight was $3 which is inappropriate. The seats do not recline and are small. If you do not pay for you carry on a head of time they will charge you $100 which is basically robbery. I will never fly spirit ever again."
Cons: "These flights would be alright if you have no luggage. A lot of people were told they had to pay for smaller bags at the gate just because they had wheels. And it was an extra $100 per bag at the gate. The only thing that goes on free is a backpack or purse. Otherwise it's $50 right away when you check-in, which they were letting a lot through saying you'd be alright, or $65 before zone 1 is called and $100 there after, this goes for each flight. And as I said, most people got stuck with the $100 because they were initially told they'd be fine at check-in but when they went to board they were told otherwise. There were also issues with scanning tickets and a few people had to step out of line and get new ones. I personally would never fly this airline unless I had no other choice. Spend the extra little bit of money on a better airline; in the long run you will save a good chunk of change."

Cons: "I came in to Los Angeles LAX to board spirit proceeded to contact a spirit checker I am going to assume he was tired was very rude he was in a conversation with another passenger for whatever reason he was not happy once the conversation was over I approached him to ask him about the flight to Minnesota is this the right gate he basically said am I going to Denver I said no to Minnesota he said if you're not going to Denver you need to go and sit down I asked him I needed to know if this was the gate I need to be at again he stated go to a different spirit checker and asked them me and the people behind me just look at each other .very unprofessional I was just as tired and frustrated as he was for whatever reason he was frustrated and keep in mind please I had my one year-old and was trying to check in the stroller and the car seat"

Cons: "Once I found out there is a fee of $42 dollars per checked bag with a limit of 40lbs, I tried to cancel my flight , but was told I would lose all my money. So I had no choice but to keep my reservation with this airline. They charge for everything from seats, to getting on the plane first and even carry ons. They don't even serve water during the flight. Planes are tiny and old. No space. On our flight back home we missed our connection due to a sick passenger. When we got to the gate the plane was just leaving. We were sent to customer service, and the only alternative given to us was a flight three days later. This was outrageous. I was traveling with my 71 year old mom and they expected us to spend three days sleeping at the airport. We refused to do so and bought tickets on delta. Other families with small children who had also lost their flights had no other choice but to stay and wait. This airline treats customers with no courtesy. Clerks are rude and in humane. They could care less if you lose your flight and have to spend days sleeping at the airport. They have literally no customer service. This airline should be shut down by the FAA."
Pros: "There wasn't much to like on this flight... it was pretty disappointing."
Cons: "All the hidden/ extra costs. It adds up to more than what any other airline would have costed and the service was worse. They lost my bag on the way there. They take FOREVER to get the bags to the baggage carousel (even when they make everyone pay extra to check a bag - but not as much to carry on a bag... you do the math). The flight was also delayed by 35 min. Once we got to our home airport, it took another 30+ minutes to even open the door so we could all get off the plane. It then took another 30 minutes once we all got down to the baggage carousel for the first bag to even come out of the baggage carousel."
Pros: "Both flights boarded fast and left on time or early. I liked that I got everything I would normally get with a Delta flight for a lot less money. Sure they charge for drinks but I'd rather pay $3.50 for a coke than pay $150 to get it free on Delta. Seats were snug but so are Delta and American seats on most flights so I'm used to that and it was comfortable. And very cheap to upgrade to exit aisle or business class if more room is needed - which I did on the flight home because I had to work on my laptop. Staff was GREAT!"
Cons: "Tray tables are very small. Not enough room to work on laptop unless you upgrade to business class or exit aisle. Little armrest room so be prepared to rub arms with your neighbors. Don't make us listen to ads for your credit card promo. Hate when airlines do that because we are paying to be there and shouldn't be subjected to ads we can't get away from."

Cons: "My flight was cancelled, due to weather? Other airlines flights around same time were not cancelled, although there were some delays. I'm not quite sure why my flight was cancelled. I recieved no email/call telling me about the cancellation. I looked online to check my flight status and found out by myself that it was cancelled. So I called in and waited for a representative to help me, who said the only thing they could do was move me to the next flight, which was the following day, 18 hours later from my original flight. After I decided that was way too late, i called back in to see if I could get an earlier flight instead, and was told I would have to pay a fee for changing my cancelled flight a second time, which is ridiculous. I eventually had to argue a little bit but ended up getting a partial refund of the round-trip ticket, as I am still going to use the return flight to come back. Overall, I really did not like having to find out myself about the cancelled flight, i did not like Spirit airlines' solution to the problem, I did not like that they wanted me to pay extra to change the cancelled flight, I did not like that they initially refused my refund request. From the time I realized my flight was cancelled to the time the issue was finally resolved, i had spent over an hour, which makes the experience very negative. The only positive is that I did eventually get a partial refund, even though it was less than half of the total price of the flight ticket."

Cons: "Every possible thing that allows for convenient travel Spirit has conveniently reversed. Paying for a carryon bag is one thing but having to pay an extra 20 dollars if you do it in person is ludicrous. Not being able to pay cash is crazy. Having issues with the online system connecting with the overall Spirit airlines system was crazy and kept e on the phone for almost 2 hours. After two hours I still had no solid solution and had to take my chances and trust that communication was had between the call center and the spirit airlines network. Terrible experience. Bad enough that I will NEVER fly spirit again. Good luck to the thrill seekers who try it."
Pros: "Walking on to the plane I was greeted by two flight attendants who were very freindly and making small talk with almost everyone who came onto the plane. The captain was also standing in the doorway to the cabin and was greeting passengers as they boarded. I noticed that the captain had brought two young children in to the cabin to show them the front of the plane, I didn't know that happened any more! I was VERY impressed and have never experinced such kindness and professionalism on a flight. Thank you for making the flight the best experience I've ever had on a major airline! Cons: "When booking I did not know there were large additional fees. I have traveled alot and booked the flight, packed a carryon and thought I was good. WRONG, the day I was leaving j was told if I wanted to bring my carryon it was an additional 36.00 each way. Then I was asked to choose a seat which was another 10-30 dollars. I ended up stuffing all my items into a duffle bag that fit under the seat to avoid fees and had the airline just asign a seat. But the ride was extremely rough because of storms, I asked if I could have water and was told it would be 3.00 I was so frustrated I opted to wait the additional hr for a beverage. I suggest anyone planning on using this airline be aware that the prices are good if you don't want to bring anything and you can provide your own beverages and snacks."

Cons: "Was the gate under construction? It was difficult to get off the plane, having to maneuver down the ramp, outside and up 2-flights of stairs. I did not hear anyone inform the passengers about the condition of the gate, nor was anything said about arriving late to get to connecting flight. I asked a flight attendant as I was getting off, only to be told the same plane was continuing on to MSP, but I had to deplane for cleaning. Once inside it was so crowded and no organization: it was shoulder to shoulder and people were squeezing in and out of the crowd to get to where they needed to be. Finally able to get back on the plane, going down 2-flights of steps to the tarmac to the ramp, etc. ugh; I've recently had back surgery and continue to have back pain. This was a painful transitional exercise that affected me immediately and for days afterward."
Pros: "The main flight attendant kept saying how much better Delta is than Spirit, so don't expect much, which was funny the first time, but then it got obnoxious. Whatever--people seemed to think he was amusing."
Cons: "Ir order to print your boarding pass, you have to have an email address and password and pretty much sign up for their barrage of email messages. I don't think you can have them email your boarding pass to you, and if you don't have one, they charge you at the airport. With the $42 fee for suitcase (which I don't understand) I really think it's worth the extra money to fly a real airline. Also took longer than usual to get suitcases when we landed at MSP. Oh, and they're so cheap they didn't post the flight number by the gate, and it was a half hour late leaving."
Pros: "My second row seat was quite spacious"
Cons: "Flight was delayed for over three hours. Then once on board we were constantly told how many minutes until we would be leaving then sat there probably 20 minutes past that time. Overall I was probably sitting around for three times the actual length of my flight. They gave everyone a $50 voucher for their troubles which was nice, but it has used to book within the next two months. Seriously? I really do not even want to fly Spirit again ever and now they are giving me a time constraint to make up for their inadequacies. Terrible airline."
Cons: "I was told to take all of the stickers off my bag before checking it in or the bag would be lost. I took the stickers off the back for the first time in 5 years of global travel and for the first time, the bag was lost for 3 days. I personally think the person checking in my bag did not like me and intentionally lost my bag. We will never no. As a result I had to purchase $341.86 worth of safety equipment so I could start the job I was on. I never received a refund for my baggage fee. I was not reimbursed for my time and money spend to cover the losses after the airlines failure. I would fly the airline again as long as I was not checking bags."
Cons: "Be careful flying with Spirit. Their policy is that you pay a very small base rate, with no frills whatsoever. The seats don't even recline at all. Baggage fees (even when paid online ahead of time) are very costly. You don't even get in-flight water for free. I can't tell you how many customers were upset any complaining about various aspects of the surprise costs associated with this airline; I'd imagine all over the country every day Spirit is causing frustration to hundreds or thousands of people. Would not recommend."
Cons: "Spirit airline unfortunately does not know what customer service means... Check in staff rolls their eyes, refuse to help and gets upset when asked questions. Then they say "it's more important to get the plane taken care of then deal with the bags"... Back story, almost 2 hours waiting for my checked bag... Every time we asked someone for info or help they took off and hid. The manager was not helpful and there customer service call in line was rude, and can't get anyone to call back. This coming from a person who believes in killing with kindness.... If u need help/info u better be nice. I approach in a very kind understanding fashion and still treated like I'm a horrible person who doesn't matter. I'd rather pay a little extra money for a plane ticket and be treated like a person."
Cons: "My flight was delayed due to weather. They didn't notify anyone there was any sort of delay until after the flight was supposed to depart. Then they announced the flight Cancelled shortly after. There was no staff at any of the desks to help people rebook flights so we were all just standing there wondering what to do. Finally one lady came and had to help two flights worth of people rebook. Was in line for almost an hour. When I returned the next day they made me repay for all my overweight checked bags."

Cons: "There's a a rule that states you can't check in after 45 minutes before your flight. That's annoying and unnecessary. I've ran late before with other airlines, but was able to check in and easily go get on the plane. Even if I didn't make it though because going through security took too long, what's the problem with the agents at the gate having to look for my next flight option? Because of this rule and me running behind for my 9:10 am flight, I missed it, and I had to wait 10 hours in the airport for the next one. Next time I fly, I will be avoiding Spirit airlines if it comes up as an option."
Cons: "I asked for a flight to Minneapolis from Chicago I booked the flight and found out that the flight was from Minneapolis to Chicago. I tried to cancel it and get a refund. That's where my nightmare began. I ended up with 2 flights and then cancelling because it just wasn't worth. I wanted to go visit my son who is incarcerated and wanted to go for a 1 day visit.(ON HIS BIRTHDAY) APRIL 3. If I would have gone I would have only been able to see him for 2 hours. Instead I got screwed out of $120.00. NO flight and NO visitation because you kept my money."
Cons: "Unfortunately, I should have asked around in advance: everything is add-on in cost, so there are prices for an additional carry-on and a steep price for checked luggage. Beverages and the like are also an extra charge, as is choosing your own seat (which, if you are traveling with a family, is just ridiculous). The seating is hugely tight (if you want to pick your seats, it's $10 for each and $25 for any imaginably decent leg room--I say this as a very short person; anyone of average height would be miserable)."
