I was once given an $850 travel voucher for voluntarily giving up my seat, and was flown first class to Hawaii, given 4 star accomodation and then flown first class on to China within 48 hours. This was an involuntary bump from our chosen flight time, all because of a lack of knowledge about current visa regulations and international law on the part of the check in staff. We have been loyal Delta users for over 15 years, and this was the biggest blunder ever. Also humiliating and extremely frustrating, stressful and a big problem with fulfilling our travel plans between son and father."

A totally unnecessary stressful situation created by the gate agents for failing to share information. Once we got onboard we saw carry-ons larger then what we were forced to check-in. Evidently, enforcement of standards is at the gate agents' discretion."

Missed the flight, have to rebook a 3 hour later departure, move the meeting and take a flight back 4 hours later that has a layover and adds about 2.5 hours more on the return leg. Not to mention having to pay for the new seat."

The flight out was delayed approximately one hour various mechanics coming on and off plane until finally we were able to leave."

Here's how it all starts out they welcome you to the terminal with a wonderful opportunity to pay $5 for printing your boarding passes (unless you download their app). How could a piece of paper that small that no other airline charges you to print cost $5 you ask? Well that is the magic of Allegiant Airlines at work, if they can't make something simple; both costly and annoying then you aren't flying Allegiant Airlines. If it is simple and easy it shall become both costly and wildly inefficient. You arrive at the gate with hope in your heart and they then tell you, umm no. Who ever told you that is a fool! You can make no changes to your seating this is a 40,000lb aircraft with a 300,000lb lift capacity and it can't handle you sitting next to your girlfriend it would compromise the avionics and we would all surely die. Then why on the app did it show open seats? Seats of course for a price! Not by section like a normal airline ohhh noo a price that was completely different for every single seat as if the seats were in competition with each other in some high altitude economy that makes far less sense at sea level.The helpful response to this inquiry was 'oh well that was then' I am looking at it right now. I don't know what to tell you.. What's next?! A surprise $50 charge per carry-on! Unless you read the small print on one of their emails that is filled with advertisements they make it look like another advertisement, I'm going to go out on a limb and say INTENTIONALLY as it is never mentioned on: (The check-in email, the purchase confirmation email, not mentioned by the ticket counter, not anywhere on the app, not written anywhere on the electronic ticket despite them announcing otherwise) They instead tell you right as you are boarding the plane and have absolutely no choice in the matter and have done this innumerable amount of times as the flight attendant was well versed in de-escalation protocol and a security guard was positioned an arms length away as she deftly charges your card on file... I have run out of characters for this post I can only assume this comment section is run by Allegiant Airlines.."

Pros: "Paperless boarding was awesome and FREE, no flumbing for boarding passes at TSA or terminal gate. There was no entertianment on this short flight and I didn't buying any food or drinks so I have no rating for this section. To my surprized I was able to purchase Show tickets at a great discount on board only, very cool! Flight was on time both ways! Seat Confront was tight but the website made it clear the seating would be on selected seats and since I didnt pay for the upgraded seating you get what you pay for."
Cons: "The on-line section process was challenging to purchase tickets, not real user friendly had to keep going out of the site and back in again and then after payment was complete the baggage section was incorrect so it had to be fixed at baggage checkin, the baggage fees are cheaper on-line verses at the terminal but max weight was 40lbs the industry standard is 50lb. Didnt like having all the extra fees. All in all there was still a big saving as to going directly to SW Airlines"

Cons: "There was a lady sitting on my assigned seat. She said flight attendance told her that is ok to do. I wouldn't mind if she or staff asked me with legitimate reasons. It happened at mt last trip; ending up sitting next to big person instead of sitting with my 12 year old daughter."

Crew was not professional. After takeoff they never came around to see if anyone needed anything and not even a glass of water was offered for the entire flight. They didn’t even ensure that everyone wore seatbelts on landing - woman next to me was stretched out hugging her companion while landing wilth unbuckled seatbelt. Entertainment screen did not wirk properly."

Pros: "The person at the United customer service desk was able to book me on the next available flight to Reno (after missing my original flight mentioned above) quickly and efficiently. Boarding was fast."
Cons: "I was late to my original flight and the United personal that I talked to at the gate was very rude. I asked if the plane was still boarding and all she said was go to customer service. I know I gave her a questioning look because this did not answer my original question. She repeated her statement again this time pointing. I would have preferred that she tell me that the flight had finished boarding but customer service could help me get on another flight. I feel that would have been more professional. My new flight was also an hour late"

Pros: "Cabin crew were polite and hard working"
Cons: "The fact that flight leaves gate on time and sits on tarmc for 15 minutes. This would be listec as on time departure but is a fraud. United has too few machines that work too slowly to tag bags and get tickets. On ground United staff rude and unpleasant. They are a disgrace to their stockholders! Also Newark Airport is decrepit and the United Terminal is run down with poor services that arte ovrpriced and dirty."

Cons: "It truly bothers me that during pre-board, United says, "if you have a disability you can board now." Who would want to be the person moving forward to board? Southwest says something to the affect of "if you have a pre-board and need a little extra time." Maybe they could change their verbiage to sound a bit more like we're in the 21st century."

When arriving to the Newark airport, there was communication issues and no way for us to get to a terminal so we were stuck on that plane for 2 hours. While stuck on the plane my connecting flight got delayed twice then cancelled. Once finally in the airport, I waited an hour in line for customer service only to tell me they couldn't even put me up in a hotel because it was air traffic controls fault, even though NO other airline was down. They gave me a $10 food voucher, apparently that would fix everything. I had to put myself in a $130 hotel room and being a broke college student I wasn't expecting that. I will never fly united again, it was he worst experience I've ever had and one of the most stressful days. This airline is horrible."

Cons: "Purchased tickets 4 months before this flight for a departure time of 6:05pm. Tried to check in and check baggage at 9:30am but was turned away saying I could only check in 3 hrs prior to my flight. Came back at 3:00pm to check-in and they could not find my information. An hour later they find out that they cancelled the flight and moved my departure time to 8:25am for that day. They say they emailed 3 times in May but I never got it (I'm a bit crazy about my email staying clean) so they say it might have went in to my spam folder due to they types of emails they send to customers. They only kept repeating that they notified me so there is nothing they could do. I ended up going to Air Canada to get a flight from PHX to RNO the next day. No apology, no help, no hotel for the night...Terrible experience by United. They gave me a customer relations group contact information to follow up with for complaint but since they sent me the 3 emails in May about the change, they have no liability to fix the situation."

Pros: "Smooth. No problems. Happy we didn't have to get suitcases through customs because you could handle in Canada. Happy gate was near where we got off."

Cons: "The flight was overbooked and asked for several volunteers to take later flights for travel credit. Ended up forcing those unlucky souls in the last boarding group off flight with no offer of credit or accommodation. Waited in customer service line for hours, literally longer than it would have taken to take off and arrive at my scheduled destination. United representatives could not find a flight that guaranteed a seat (not on a long standby list) that was even in the same 12 hour period. I spoke with a United supervisor who showed zero empathy or concern with the situation. In the end I arranged for other travel accommodations to drive to my family reunion destination. No refund was issued or offered. I was informed I would have to call United customer service after the date of my previously scheduled return flight to explain my situation. I will personally never fly United again and would recommend the same to anyone. Although for the record, I did receive a single ten dollar airport food voucher for my inconvenience. Inexcusable."

Pros: "Legroom and seat size were terrific. For me, movie selection was great--best of 2015."
Cons: "Luggage was delayed--apparently not transferred in Munich to United flight. Fortunately, it was only a 24-hour delay and contents arrived intact. But the explanation of what I could purchase to meet my immediate travel needs (toiletries, intimate garments) was indefinite and unclear and subject to reimbursement only if approved. Boarding was subject to additional security for flights to US in Munich airport where passport was checked yet again and stupid questions were asked and passengers were shuffled through a long queue."

Pros: "Ride was ok. Both our flights from Chicago were delayed. No one tried to explain or offer any apology. No one offered to complete anything or offer coupons for meals. I thought that was extremely rude."
