There is also an exception for travelers with the following visas: A-1, A-2, C-1, C-1/D, C-2, C-3, CR-1, CR-2, D, E-1 (as an employee of TECRO or TECO or the employee's immediate family members), G-1, G-2, G-3, G-4, IR-1, IR-4, IH-4, NATO-1 through NATO-4, or NATO-6 visa;
Members of the US Armed Forces, spouses, and children of members of the US Armed Forces;
Travelers with invitation of the USA government for a purpose related to the containment/mitigation of the Coronavirus (COVID-19);
Travelers with documents issued by the US Department of Homeland Security, US Customs and Border Protection, or US Department of State indicating that the traveler is exempt from the restriction;
B1 crew crewmembers that are engaged in lightering, Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) activity, wind farm activity, private air/sea crew and other similar crewmember activities;
Students with an F-1 or M-1 visa and their F-2 and M-2 dependents, if they arrive from or have been in Ireland, the UK or Schengen Area in the past 14 days.
All travelers, 2 years of age or older (including US citizens and transit passenger) must present a negative COVID-19 viral or antigen test result issued 72 hours prior to departure or have a proof of recovery from the virus within the last 90 days prior to boarding the plane.
Exemptions or waiver to the testing requirements may be granted by the CDC on an extremely limited basis when emergency travel (like an emergency medical evacuation) must occur to preserve someone’s life, health against a serious danger, or physical safety and testing cannot be completed before travel.
US citizens and permanent residents arriving from the UK must present a medical certificate with a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test result issued within 72 hours prior to departure.
Travelers are advised to get tested 3-5 days after travel and stay home and self-quarantine for 7 days after travel. Even if they test negative, they must still stay home and self-quarantine for the full 7 days. If the test is positive, isolate to protect others from getting infected.
Travelers who did not get tested, are advised to stay home and self-quarantine for 10 days after travel.

When I mentioned it to the flight attendant, she just shrugged and said "it's just the air conditioner ", like tough luck. That was the only time I saw the attendant. No drinks, no snacks. I guess she didn't have time for the last 4 rows of seats, although the flight was 1 1/2 hours long."

Polaris Lounge missing any kind of basic food or snacks in effort to go overboard with chef "inspired" food. Cons: "Maybe it's because I haven't flown in a few years but it seems that the airlines are packing in as many seats as they can, without regard to the passengers who are shoved into tiny seats for 5+ hours without even being able to stretch their legs. We were in the last row where you can't even lean your seat back but the guy in front of me was just about in my lap the whole flight. Charging for in flight entertainment and meals also seems like the airlines care less for customer satisfaction than the money they can get from passangers. While boarding, we were stopped in first class because the flight attendant was in the aisle getting drinks for first class...Before all the passengers boarded. Also, why is every flight told they get one carry on plus a personal item when that isn't really the case? If the flight is full, apparently there is not enough room for each passanger to have a carry on so people who have delicate items packed in their carry ons have to surrender them and pray their precious vacation purchases aren't smashed when they get their luggage back. Quantity over quality."

We had to deplane shortly after boarding and switch to another plane. Since this delay was going to make me miss my connection, I got on the phone with a United agent and changed my reservation, but the agents at the gate refused to help me get my bag off the plane, so I didn't have clothes for the majority of my trip. The worst part was the attitudes of the gate agents and customer service reps toward all the passengers. Perhaps they couldn't be outwardly apologetic to avoid liability, but there was no excuse for them to be cold and dismissive."

Cons: "I was one of the last to broad the aircraft and found that my seat was given to another customer. I was asked by the flight attendant if I could seat all the way in the back by the restrooms. I was not happy with this at all but could live with it. Once we landed I waited on my bags at baggage claim. Found that my luggage had been damaged."

Pros: "Flight attendants were okay and we made up an hour on the way which did not make up for the 5 hour delay in Beijing."
Cons: "United did not come close to matching the Air China flight service and entertainment from SFO to Beijing. Was told we would get a voucher for the hotel but only got $10 voucher each for lunch which did not cover lunch. Had to stand in a line for an hour to check in even though we did not have luggage. All in all, a very frustrating experience."
