Very friendly people, excellent breakfast, and it was easy to commute by train to oxford No complaints
Friendly greeting by owner with a very welcome cup of coffee, despite there being ample coffee/tea in the room, very spacious room spotlessly clean, very quiet qnd peaceful, (ideal after a hectic day) Excellent breakfast freshly cooked, When I was asked if I was enjoying my meal and did I want more, it was very genuine, unlike the command "enjoy" which unfortuanatly is the "buzz word" for the corparate establishments None whatsoever
The room exceeded my expectations, hostess was friendly and helpful and service was first class. Very clean.
Large bedroom. Very well furnished. spotlessly clean. Excellent breakfasts. Good en-suite. Shower over bath, plenty of hot water, but had to run cold tap for quite a while before water was cold. No Lounge. Access to shower in bath awkward for the not so young. a more generous supply of soap and shower gel would have been appreciated.
The rooms were of excellent quality - beautifully decorated, great furniture, extremely confortable bed and gallons of hot water. Salina, the host, was also very warm and hospitable and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. And the icing on the cake was waking up to a fantastic breakfast. Thanks for a short but wonderful stay. Nick & Agnes - London No bad points
Great Place . Convenient .Great Hosts. Food Excellent N/A
welcomed with coffee by the owner, rooms well maintained and spacious. Breakfast very good and the owner met our request for an early breakfast.
A superb hotel with friendly owners in a great position for visiting Oxford. All round five star performance.
Lovely location, fantastic room, the owner couldn't have been more welcoming, breakfast great! No bad points
The bedroom and bathroom were both finished and appointed to a very high standard. The rural location is beautfull within easy walking distance of the River Thames. None
After reading other reviews I was expecting just a B&B but was pleasantly surprised when I could at least order a night-cap and one that was very reasonably priced! Thank you.
lovely welcome from staff. Clean room though decor rather dated and grubby. Breakfast pleasant with helpful staff. Dated decor and grubby in need of redecoration (though was clean). Curtains off a few hooks so wouldn't shut properly. tiny supplies of shampoo etc - not what I'd expect from a 4 star establishment. bed so uncomfortable neither of us slept either night.
The room (32) was better than others we had been in before. The lady at breakfast was very helpful as I was dashing to London on an early train & my husband dropped me at the station & came back for a full breakfast. Despite above, I thought breakfast could have started at 7am & then my husband and I woud have eaten together.
Nice room, quiet, very comfortable
The day manager was friendly and helpful, and allowed me to leave the car in the carpark whilst I went into the centre - an essential amenity in Oxford. The breakfast was hot and freshly prepared, and served just before closing time of 9 am without any fuss. The level of cleanliness is very good, and the lounge space pleasant. The room was a bit poky, with a small shower cubicle only in the bathroom. There was some intrusion of road noise.
Wireless environment, cleanness. I stayed in 2nd floor and it is a bit hard to bring up my luggage.
Very clean Very small double bed, so uncomfortable to sleep in - and the whole point was to sleep!
We had a lovely stay here over the Easter weekend. The room was clean, spacious and homely. The staff were very friendly and professional. It is not far from Oxford City Centre, literally a 5-10 bus ride. Good parking facilities and we enjoyed a good old fry up for breakfast which was included in the booking. We will definitely stay there again and highly recommend. :)
The location meant you were able to walk into central Oxford (15-20 mins) and leave the car in the hotel car park meaning you didn't have to worry about transport or parking fees. Not major faults whatsoever. Poor Wi Fi reception in some hotel areas. Becomes annoying when access is intermittent.
A really lovely hotel and good value for money. Clean and comfortable and wonderful breakfast - I was very impressed with the vegetarian option (we are often forgotten...) Plenty of parking space and handy for getting into Central Oxford. I can't think of any bad points.
Clean and airy room, 10 mins walk to city centre, breakfast really good None
Everything was very clean, good location to the city centre. Fairly quiet room. We were able to leave our bags at the hotel when we arrived even though it was early morning and well before check in. However, the next day when we checked out, we wanted to do leave our bags while walking around the city but because the reception was closed from 1-4:30 and our train left during that time, no one would have been there to let us in to collect our bags. So we had to walk around the city with heavy backpacks and didn't get to do as much as we had wanted.
The booking process was incredibly easy and reliable. Everything was in order when we arrived.
Staff (owner?) - very friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable for one person. The slanted ceiling in room 16 would make it less comfortable for two. Very conveniently located within walking distance of city center. Great breakfast with perfect softboiled eggs. I'd stay there again if in Oxford.
Nice cozy room. Short walk to the city centre! Very helpful and courteous staff! Tiny shower!
Clean and tidy; Good location; the breakfast was excellent Very expensive. Room was very small - cost was very big
Landlord very helpful and accommodating. Friendly staff.
Friendly and good sevice Room next to Abongdon rd very noisy
Close to the event I needed to attend Impersonal service
Nice quiet location. Good aired room. Adequate fascilies. Very good staf, very helpful and polite. Musty smell in room, possibly from bathroom. Would have preferred a bath but didn't specify in booking
Friendly service, good breakfast, basic accomodation, Value for money.
Friendly staff Good breakfast
Very spacious room and bath room, windows well sound proofed
Easy walking distance of Oxford city centre. In need of a refurbishment
A very quiet, clean and comfortable guesthouse. Lovely room. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. a generous ammount of tea, coffee, chocolate and milk in our room. Close to the centre of Oxford- only a 10 min walk or a frequent bus service. Steps up to the main entrance, and stairs to breakfast room.
Helpful and friendly owner. Good location. There was parking, although limited spaces. Room was overlooking main road so was quite noisy.
it suited our purpose to visit our son in oxford. the atmosphere was friendly and the breakfast good
A bit of walk from Oxford city center
Good clean room, with all facitities you would expect. Excellent breakfast None
Very smart and welcoming with high standard accommodation None
The owner was very friendly and helpful with what there was to do in the local area and where to eat in the evenings
The house was very homely and although the owners were not there the couple that where looking after the place which they had done several times before where very good, and made the stay very enjoyable.
We found our stay at Town Farm Cottage very relaxing. The setting was very quiet and peaceful with beautiful gardens. Everything was thoughtfully provided. The staff were excellent and could not have been more helpful with good advice of places to eat and places of interest to visit. They were very friendly too. Also, the breakfasts were excellent...mmmmmm. Nothing to report here.
Good rooms and beautiful garden with a friendly welcome. Nothing!
Very friendly people felt really at home.
Our bedroom was very comfortable with every attention to detail, likewise the bathroom. Very good breakfast with excellent communication with owner. Lovely gardens. Would stay again if in the area. No bad points.
Clean, relaxed, homely & historic. Lovely big room. Breakfast was included but cooked option didn't appear fresh-likely been sitting on hot plate for a while.
The food, the relaxed atmosphere and very good, friendly staff. The power shower wasn't particularly good but hardly a bad point
Historic Could do with bigger portions of cooked breakfast,as not all like cereal beforehand.
Excellent Staff No Power Shower
Great oldy worldy hotel but needs modernisation of bathroom facilities. Its situation in Woodstock makes it very convenient for visiting Blenheim Palace and Oxford. Good quality full english breakfast served by polite staff. Dont book into room one its over the stairwell and you can hear all the noise from the bar below until 12.30 ish at night. Plus when the windows are open you get all the smoke from outside below where people stand at the door. We asked to be moved on the second night.
Delightful premises and comfortable , spacious room providing an excellent nights sleep . ample breakfast . Staff were very pleasant by very amateur and senior staff almost casual . The common areas could certainly do with a bit of maintenance and decoration . a request for a snack in the evening was met with the reply that the kitchen was closed early because they had a large party in for a meal ; an offer of something modest would have been nice , rather than peanuts before bed !
Nice ambiance, attractive historic building, friendly staff My chair leg slid down a huge crack in the bar floor at breakfast time - in an old building things like this are always possible so repairs have to be done in a timely manner.
Very friendly staff, good food, excellent location in town. A very enjoyable experience.
The room was big and the shower room was well appointed. The breakfast was good Although the shower room was very nice it could have done with a power shower as it was a deluxe room We had to ask for a heater as the radiator was not on and didnt come on during our stay .The traffic noise was verybad .we could here too much of what was going onin other rooms!!!
the location the duvet was stained had to ask them to change it. mirrow light in bathroom didnt work. double glazing panes not on window but up against wall. ivy from outside growing inside through windows. radio on all of the time in the bar not giving us any peace. expensive for what you got.
