10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very cozy Soft beds 5 star breakfast
Cons: Creaky floor Driving out gate onto busy road
6.3 Good
Pros: Breakfast very good with fresh sourdough bread daily
Cons: Pillows flat and little odd to have a not-new toilet brush and furry fake plant in the bathroom. But very friendly hostess. Very clean if perhaps slightly cluttered room. On a busy road so the walk to the local pub is perilous.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly greeting, great communication. Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely choice for breakfast & was exceptional. Will definately use the Rafters again :-)

10.0 Excellent
Pros: All of it.
Cons: Overall, would recommend
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had read the reviews but even so were not prepared for how perfect this would be for our stay. No-one, not even the owner, mentioned a toaster but there it was. Biscuits, enough milk for cereal and two nights stay, a cafetière with coffee to use in it. I have a travel nespresso machine so did not need the cafetière but how thoughtful to provide one. The bed was comfortable, the Wi-fi strong and the en-suite nicely done. Although next to the road there was no road noise. Very clever windows on that side of the property. The Plough pub is just across the road and the food is good although I recommend booking a table. We had but others had not and had to wait.
Cons: Nothing. I prefer a bath but for two nights a shower will suffice.
7.1 Good
Pros: Left to get on with it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host was super accommodating in supporting our unusual timing requirements with this stay. The accommodation was compact but contained everything we needed. Everything was top notch.

Cons: Nothing not to like

Pros: location great. cooked breakfast very good, cold selection poor
Cons: cold breakfast quality and choice, coffee cups instead of pots had to wait ages for a refilled cup.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This is an absolutely stunning hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The food is amazing, breakfast was one of the best i have had. The location is perfect, so close to the river and town centre. All in all a fantastic stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My room was lovely, very individual, and the minibar was a lovely surprise with a great selection . staff were really good, and helpful, both on check-in and check out, but also in the restaurant. Food was delicious and lots of vegetarian options. Good value
Cons: I wish I had checked out the carparking before I travelled!! I drove round Abingdons one way system a couple of times, before I parked away from the venue and walked in. Once I got there, I was given a really helpful map, that led me to the car park easily.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely and helpful staff. Great breakfast. A mini bar and tea making facilities.
Cons: The traffic just outside the bedroom window meant no fresh air and earplugs mandatory for sleep.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Behind the main street building there is a lovely courtyard with a seating area for a drink/meal outdoors. The bars are very rustic and comfortable. The food was lovely and so was our room. The staff very friendly and helpful. A very pleasant stay which we will be back to visit in the future
Cons: All good

Pros: the breakfast for me i felt was poor
Cons: the breakfast for me was poor, the room was pity much a shed split in two, room was cold and not sound prove i could here a shower being run at 05.00 which woke me up
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just a lovely location immaculately clean very comfortable and a wonderful breakfast
Cons: There wasn’t anything I didn’t like the only tiny thing that deterred from it was that you had to go out to get an evening meal. There was an excellent pub close by.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good breakfast - variations offered. Asked if I knew what I was doing for supper and offered to tell me where the pub was. Very helpful and jolly, not invasive. Even carried my bag. Bed comfortable and room clean. One reviewer said it was tired - this is an old building, simply decorated, antique style bathroom. My bathroom was showing a bit of wear but everything worked and the shower was excellent. This is not 5* - this is excellent value for money. Chocolate box village very near to where I worked. Walking distance to pub - take a torch.
Cons: Nothing really.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great Place to stay, very friendly owners and brilliant breakfast that could not be faulted. Nothing was too much trouble and John was a very amicable chap, who would go out of his was to make our stay very pleasant, we will return.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly, clean, good breakfast. Staff couldn't do enough for you to make your stay comfortable.
Cons: It's probably a little to close to railway line for noise but nothing can be helped with that.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location. Adjacent to Science Park where I was working.
Cons: Pillows were a bit bouncy.
6.7 Good
Pros: The room was big and perfect for a family. Good coffee in the room also and biscuits.
Cons: No real welcome when we arrived but especially the food was rated really good and it was alright.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Only BB that starts breakfast at 6.30AM, which means I can get it before I go to work
7.5 Good
Pros: Food was great
Cons: Nothing
6.3 Good
Pros: Staff friendly, room looked clean and tidy
Cons: The room was a bit like an attic room. Window above your head but not open, there was a fan in there but it didn't help we felt like we were in a greenhouse from 5pm until 7.30pm.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Only hotel lately that offers BB that starts breakfast at 6AM so I actually get the breakfast that I always pay for and usually dont get because they start at 7-8, I'm not a tourist, I work, start early go home when hours are done
Cons: nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very touched by the hospitality and hospitality of Paulin and Rob. Tasty and varied cuisine. Room service is good. Stunning interior connected with the history of railways and locomotives.
Cons: GWR timetable, but this complain does not concern the Railway Inn grew.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Probably the most comfortable bed on earth, really peaceful surroundings, friendly kind staff, and not a bad pint either! Breakfast was nice, good service. Would definitely stay there again.
The Brewery Tap - Abingdon - Outdoors view

Overview Reviews
Located in Abingdon, The Brewery Tap is within a 15-minute drive of Christ Church College and Covered Market. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location, comfort, no issues with room or bathroom. Everything was great :)
Cons: Price! It could have been a bit lower like £60, especially that it is not really central of Oxfordshire or like central of London. You have to commute from Abingdon to reach certain places so ideally hotel prices shouldn't be £100 a night!
7.0 Good
Pros: Ro was excellent.
Cons: B&b needs to be full English breakfast
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nicely furnished room
Cons: Tv didn’t work in room 3 and could have done with a shaving light
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were beautiful & clean. Food was absolutely gorgeous.
Cons: Had to leave room to go out into the hallway to get a hot drink, which was a machine you pressed a button on which made all your favourite drinks only problem was it wasn’t working. The rest of the continental breakfast was great.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Really convenient location and very friendly staff
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location if you are not dependant on parking. Room clean and well presented. One of the most comfortable beds we have slept in for a while. Being of reasonable intelligence, I read the reviews before booking. Room above a pub, on busy road. self service breakfast in room. No problem. What it says on the label is what you get. Live with it. Pub had great ambience and good selection of real ales and gins. Food was excellent and staff friendly and helpful. Overall experience well above expectations. Will definitely be back. .
Cons: Only having booked for one night. But seriously, wash hand basin was rather high and larger mirror above it would have been a bonus. Nothing that will stop us revisiting and recommending it to friends and relatives
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good lively pub, with very nice clean well appointed rooms. Not very big rooms, but perfectly adequate. Comfy bed. Meals in the pub looked good and were very popular, to the extent that because we didn't book a table as soon as we arrived we ended up having to eat elsewhere! Live music in the pub was good, but very loud. Good selection of real ales. Breakfast is a self service continental style from a well stocked servery area on the landing, and eat in your room.
Cons: Would have preferred a proper sit down breakfast at a table in the pub. The live music was very good and we enjoyed it (Foo Fighters tribute band that night) but some people may find it too loud and late if you wanted an early night!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Access to room Excellent. Shower in bathroom excellent. Clean and fresh.
Cons: Breakfast.?shown was lovely.unfortunately no coffee left when we got up . Someone raided 're food!! No breakfast day 1. Day,2 fine. Very good.
6.3 Good
Pros: On the positive side the bed was really comfortable so once the band beneath us stopped playing we were able to get a good nights sleep.
Cons: The breakfast offering was listed as a buffet breakfast - this turned out to be a fridge of provisions, a coffee machine and some cereals and croissants because the pub is not staffed until midday. There were no plates or napkins. I had some cold meats and cheese but there was no bread or rolls to accompany this. You have to the food back to your room to eat it where the seating wasn’t really suitable - two very tired chairs with a small and very low coffee table which was an uncomfortable eating arrangement. Lighting in the room was bad - it was hard to do my makeup. Only had one hand towel. Trendy slatted blinds but not great for keeping the room dark.

Cons: A little bit noisy from the road.

Pros: Much improved since last stay which was marred by building work
7.0 Good
Pros: Local to several shops also general cleanliness of hotel facilities was good as was standard of decor. Breakfast was good and offered plenty of choice.
Cons: No central light in bedroom and generally poor light for reading
5.3 Okay
Pros: Location and easy parking
Cons: Nothing in particular - If anything the advertising raised our expectations beyond what was on offer a very functional hotel catering for a specific market niche.
7.7 Good

Cons: N/A
7.7 Good
Pros: Convenient location, welcoming and helpful reception staff. Excellent food, both content and presentation all round a good stay.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was good value
Cons: Noise from a dinner dance was intrusive-we should have been given a room further away from the event
6.0 Good
Pros: closeness to town centre
Cons: room very hot, opened window but still too hot. No air conditioning to control room temperature
5.2 Okay
Pros: Staff polite and helpful. All expected facilities, good standard of cleanliness, good breakfast.
Cons: Minor quibbles - uncomfortable chairs in room and rather garish and outdated room decoration.
3.2 Mediocre
Pros: Close to the venue that I needed to go to
Cons: The service and helpfulness of the staff was very poor. When asked if breakfast was included in my room price the response was 'No' I was not offered any option to purchase breakfast or advised where I could go. When asking the bar staff if they had any medium wine I was told 'No' I was not advised of any alternatives. The room smealt of smoke even though it was a non smoking room and I feel that the whole hotel needs a refurbishment.
6.0 Good
Pros: Accessability to Abingdon. Comfort and service
Cons:
5.6 Okay
Pros: The village atmosphere
Cons: Only 1 bath towel between 2 people

5.0 Okay
Pros: the breakfast was ok
Cons: The rooms outside of the main building need freshing up.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Quiet clean and a great location for Harwell and surrounding businesses
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Breakfast was fine, various options available
Cons: Sewer smell (I guess from septic tank) when I opened window of the room in the annex area, if you dont want that you need to stay in a room in the main house
7.5 Good
Pros: Quick and easy check in, which was good, friendly staff and the location was ideal for me. The room was big, in a quiet courtyard and the bathroom was a good size with god facilities
Cons: There was a considerable amount of noise from the people upstairs and those walking around outside the room. creaking floorboards and basically every movement magnified 10 fold. The meal at the hotel was nice although the portion sizes for the cost were shocking. The £15 curry was half the size youd expect with a naan a quarter of the size of a normal one. The £6 dessert was half of the size of a kids portion, no joke. 3 small spoon fulls and it was gone and the ice cream was a tea spoon size, I complained and got a "I will report back to the chef" bear this in mind when you book, as I doubt I will use the restaurant again.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Extreme attention to detail regarding accessibility. Extra thick towels that included facecloths!!
Cons: It would have been nice to have evening g snacks available as the location was quite a distance from restaurants or pubs.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Exceptionally clean and large room. Had lots of towels and face cloths. Was able to arrive a little bit after normal check in time. And had tea, coffee and cookies upon arrival. Breakfast was wonderful with eggs Benedict and fishe along with large English breakfast. A+ rating overall.
Cons: A little out of the city but right on the bus route.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and exceptionally well run and organised. What was a surprise was the lift - quite unusual for a guesthouse. Whilst i don't need a lift it was very useful as it saved humping heavy bags up the stairs.
Cons: Too warm! That may be ok in cold weather but our party experienced very good weather so I found it a little breathless. This is really only a quibble though.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely well appointed and clean room and facilities. Friendly, helpful staff and we rather regret not having breakfast as it smelled so good !
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast! The room is clean and the beds are comfortable.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Did not have breakfast as I felt it was too expensive. I do not eat English Breakfasts. Plus I needed it to be fast as I was in a bit of a hurry.
Cons: The mattress was uncomfortable. The shower did not have a detachable shower head that one could move around to shower properly.
7.5 Good
Pros: Exceptional cleanliness, close to bus. Good breakfast.
Cons: Judgement owner, we all felt like we couldn’t ask questions, as we all got criticised +++. Out of line really. She is happy to provide negative feedback and new ‘better’ ideas, after we had visited places.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and comfortable

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location for our trip. Rooms were clean and well stocked with toiletries and tea/coffee etc. Breakfast was big and hearty and appeared to be freshly cooked for each guest.
Cons: Breakfast times could have been a little later for me...7.30 to 9.30 rather than finishing at 9am
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The room was clean. The towels fluffy. The toiletries were of a good quality.
Cons: The room (5) faced the road and the noice from constant passing cars was so loud, we got 1 hours sleep all night ! The curtains had a gap at the top so every passing cars full beam constantly strobed the room. I am quite deaf in both ears and even with ear plugs in the traffic noice was loud and constant. Unfortunately on top of this the mattress was really uncomfortable, if you lay on one side for very long the metal springs from the mattress hurt ! The floors in the authentically old bedroom all sloped so none of the furniture had been levelled off, so you couldn’t even put a cup on any surface without it slipping off!! I never leave bad reviews but feel duty bound to help out anyone who may pay £95 for a sleepless night. I booked this room based on the online reviews and feel very cheated !
7.9 Good
Pros: Room was big Bed was comfortable Beer was fantastic Location was quiet
Cons: Short staffed Asked to eat earlier than intended because of a large party booked Ordered pie and chips and we both received mashed potato Ordered the halloumi fries as a 'while you wait' item and they turned up at the same time as the main course. Ordered scrambled egg on toast for breakfast. What we received was egg in a bowl with a side portion of toast! Dogs allowed in the restaurant Dogs allowed in the breakfast room
4.6 Okay
Pros: Staff where helpful and friendly
Cons: A deluxe double room was my booking A very basic room would be a generous description
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean and comfortable with all we needed including a very generous supply of both toiletries and beverages. The staff couldn't have been more helpful in accommodating our needs particularly with Dilly The Bunny! We missed breakfast due to an early hospital appointment, but upon our return we were offered our missed breakfast, even though breakfast times were over...... It was hot and nicely presented and eaten in the sunny courtyard as "brunch". We cannot thank all the helpful staff enough. We will stay again, hopefully not for medical reasons the next time!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast, freshly cooked. Beer well looked after, very nice dinner
Cons: Cant think of anything
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Initial staff attitude

Pros: Bedroom a tase dark, being an old building, could do with decoration, otherwise fine.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is fantastic, so much in walking distance and the grounds are amazing. I spent the first hour of our stay staring out the window and the squirrels and swans...simply beautiful.
Cons: Bathroom a little cramped but not an issue for a night or 2
5.8 Okay
Pros: It was in a good location, good view of the river and close/within the town of Abingdon. The cooked breakfast was well cooked and presented. however, for the continental breakfast the selection was very poor. not even muesli just boring packets of rice crispies, cornflakes and weetabix how old and out of date is that for cosmopolitan travellers? no porridge so unless you are a carnivor very dissappointing.
Cons: The room was dreadful, poor lighting (one low bedside light) a queen size bed old tired furniture and very dusty/musty smell. The toiletries were clearly topped up from something else as ours were not full/new. continental breakfast the selection was very poor. not even muesli just boring packets of rice crispies, cornflakes and weetabix how old and out of date is that for cosmopolitan travellers? Canned fruit and no porridge so unless you are a carnivor very dissappointing We wont be back the premier inn at least is clean and modern and has more room
6.3 Good
Pros: Location was perfect and a beautiful building. The breakfast was very good.
Cons: I had to get an early night and the noise from the other rooms was unbelievable. It sounded like furniture being moved and it did not stop until nearly 11.00 pm. I was then woken by showers from other rooms at 6.00 am. My shower needed an update - bathroom was quite run down and no ventilation. Found the £70.00 room rate too much for this very small cramped space in a very noisy part of the hotel.
7.1 Good
Pros: Sausages were excellent... Dining room nicely laid out. Plenty of staff available. Lovely views from the window , over the garden and Thames.
Cons: Breakfast started at 7am (we went down at 7.30am) and at 8am they had ran out of bacon, and had no more !!! and other itemsThere was a long wait on sausages for guests that came down from 8am (waitresses should be letting kitchen know that things are running low) Toast cold, as was coffee. Considering breakfast finishes at 9am, get down at the start if you want cooked breakfast .
9.0 Excellent
Pros: lovely setting by the river, apple and pear trees, ducks, walks around the grounds and across to the nearby gardens. Colour scheme in the bedroom, tea and coffee making facilities in the room
Cons: thin bedroom walls - could hear neighbours very loud snoring!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was really comfy, and the view from the window was lovely..
Cons: The WiFi was absolutely abysmal...even worse than last time I stayed...I had to keep logging in time after time...complete waste of time..
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service.
Cons: The new build orchard block required better sound proofing between rooms. All our neighbours conversations were clear to hear with little privacy. Fortunately they were quiet but this could be a real issue for family groups with children.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: fantastic breakfast

Pros: Great pool and spa. Lovely evening meal.
Cons: Rooms not in main hotel.
5.0 Okay
Cons: The toilet in the bedroom hadn't been cleaned or flushed so I assumed someone else had checked into my room ahead of me. The staff did act immediately and were very apologetic, professional and polite though it was a very unpleasant and unusual thing to happen.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were good, it's spread over a big area lovely park land with very old trees. Nice pool.
Cons: The 60s annex is incongruous with the Georgian setting.
7.5 Good
Pros: The service at the bar! The pool The gardens Very clean
Cons: The evening meal. Mix up with orders, delay in food coming out, cold plate for steak, i asked for mayo but after 15 mins of waiting decided to see where the waiter was who was serving us- he was making up tables and had completely forgot. Ok we can all be forgetful but he was the manager????? We did complain and he was apologetic and stated they were short of staff. I understand but could not help feeling that there was a lack of communication and awareness. The bar lady ( cant remember her name) she was the one who actually made sure everthing was ok. She communicated effectively. She expained the situation without constantly just aplogising, she ensured she served us promptly and was engaging in a professional manner- thank you! I was upset as it was our anniversary, but she smoothed it over well.

5.4 Okay
Pros: Comfortable bed and breakfast
Cons: Lots of drought through single glased windows, no heating . Complained and it was put on for about an hour! No hot water in the morning. Left tap on for 15 min. And less than tepid. After 3/4 hour, I trued again and it was better. Did report it!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff and the manager were very friendly and helpful. This is a great location for playing the Frilford Heath Golf Club. Overall I did enjoy my stay here.
Cons: The chicken pie was cold. Although the manager came straight over and replaced the whole meal with a new one.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very cosy in that old time-y sort of way, the entire building felt like it had a personality & was cared for unlike the sterile Premier Inns I'm used to
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The Dog House Hotel had a lovely atmosphere. The staff are very helpful and pleasant. The bar area was very light and spacious with plenty of seating. Excellent place to stay with your dog, as there are blankets, water bowls and even bonio's for them. Our room was large, comfortable and clean. Food was normal Chef and Brewer standard with an adequate breakfast provided for us, and they even have a menu for the dog! It was a great place to stay overnight as we were travelling onto Bristol. It was the first time we had taken the dog away with us, and would recommend the Dog House Hotel for humans and dogs and have already recommended it to other people, and if we are back in the area will definitely stay there again.
Cons: There wasn't anything I didn't like
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I loved the pub, the way it was furnished, the olde worlde feel and the friendliness of the staff. The room was spacious with old fashioned leaded windows and very comfortable.
Cons: Breakfast was a bit haphazard as the toaster got stuck and was burning toast, but apart from that all good.
7.5 Good
Pros: Beds were very comfortable. Food was good with a very good choice on the menu. I thought is was just a little expensive but perhaps not in comparison for the area.
Cons: The chairs/benches on the restaurant part were grubby and not particularly pleasant to use.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing will never go back there again
Cons: Charged me 80 cash also told me had failed online but charged my card 185 all that for one night and trying to get my money back all you get is rudeness
