The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Also, the view was breathtaking.
Being from the Berkshires we chose to do a trip for a night while on vacation. We enjoyed it so much we stayed an extra night. Very clean, cozy apartment feel. Pool is great area. With it being off the path (5 miles) I think it be great to put in a snack bar as well as a lounge (dinner/ bar) it would be a gold mine for families not wanting to cook or drive. The first day staff was amazing! Second day the desk people could have had a refresher on positive and client experience.
Clean. Comfortable, beautiful scenery and quiet
a large holiday apartments resort , well situated, with fairly attractive outside architecture Reception was unfriendly and with an atitude of :'Oh shit another client'. Interior design is old and unappealing
. Unit was clean nd comfortable but starting to show its age. Wall paper was peelling, stains on ceiling when water leaked
The mattress was worn and noisy in 107b building 1
Location in mountains. Friendly staff. Very clean and well appointed rooms.Warm and cozy fireplace. Condo did not have a stove or dishwasher.
Very comfortable. Good value. We stayed there October 21-24. We would stay there again. The room was furnished nicely. We liked being able to get movies. We didn't use the pool, but it looked very nice, as well as the lodge area. Beautiful area. We were travelling back and forth to Williamstown, which was within a reasonable driving distance to the college. We were looking forward to having a fireplace in the room, but it wasn't working properly. Maintenance had to clean creosote off the glass doors so we could view the fireplace. It was really thick and the flame wasn't adjusted properly after that so it didn't look "real." We didn't use it much. They did respond quickly when we called about the creosote issue. There was black on the outside of the unit where the fireplace was, so it kind of felt like it could have been a safety issue as well. The management should monitor the fireplaces.
The rooms were really great. There was a full kitchen, dining room, living room, bathroom, bedroom and patio. It was amazing to have a kitchen with a full set of dining ware, a toaster, microwave, stove burner, blender and coffee pot. The place felt very family friendly. It definitely felt like a ski lodge where families would stay for about a week at a time. All of the decor in the rooms were fall foliage which felt weird staying there in the summer. They have a large selection of dvds at the front desk that you can rent for free and have an indoor and outdoor swimming pool. The door to patio to our room was broken. The dvd player wouldn't work and it took forever for us to get it to reopen and spit out the dvd we placed in. They ask you to take all the linens off of the bed and place in the bath tub before checking out, which didn't make sense to us because we took a shower right before we left. It's in the middle of nowhere which is definitely apart of its appeal but there are no gas stations or grocery stores for at least a 15 minute drive.
Great for families. Love that all rooms include a kitchen. The suite feature (two rooms sort of adjoin) is really convenient as we're always there with multiple families. Checking in is always painfully slow for some reason.
Clean facilities and friendly staff. Second time visiting - the kitchenette is very helpful. Nice to have balcony and gas fireplace. Comfortable bed. Overall a great place to stay.
Pool Shuttle to the ski mountain would be great idea
friendliness and adaptability of staff
Size of room. Surprise fire alarm after going to bed.
Our room (Berkshire King) was fantastic. It was huge and very luxurious. The bathroom which included a jacuzzi tub and 2 vanity sinks was also very nice. We looked forward to the freshly baked chocolate chip cookies that were delivered to our room every night as part of the turndown service. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed the iced tea and pastries in the lobby every afternoon. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in Williamstown. Carpets(both in the room and the common areas) need to be cleaned.
everything was superb, as always. There is no other place I would consider staying in the area.
Large room, good amenities provided, helpful staff, good location A little dated, but not a deterrent to staying there
Excellent Frendly Staff and Top Quality Hotel
The staff went out of their way to be accommodating and pleasant. I would have liked it if the desk was able to give restaurant suggestions.
The staff is very friendly. The rooms are huge and very clean Breakfast is included and had a decent selection. A touch above a pure continental breakfast.
The staff was amazingly accommodating! But when you book, make sure to request the NEW SIDE OF THE BUILDING. The old side is... Old. My fiancé and I wet first assigned to a room in the old side or the building. It just felt a little sad and tired. I called the front desk and the lovely clerk IMMEDIATELY switched our room to a new one which was great. Luckily we were there for a couple days that weren't too busy but if they can help you, they will. Seriously nice staff.
staff friendly and helpful. Key pass didn't work intially and when I called front desk someone came up right away. Coverlet on one of beds seemed dirty. Wish pool was on main floor and not basement.Wish got a free breakfast with stay.
not much I did not like the pillows, the smell in the room, the noisy ice maker, the nasty staff in the restaurant.
Cookie-cutter, but clean and comfortable. McNews for free. Thin walls
location - great restaurant choices within a block. Beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. Good range of very soft, to some-what soft pillows. I would have like to have been able to open the windows for fresh air.
Nice size beds. Clean and quit environment. Good breakfastchoices. Good to stay in with children under 19 - good proce
No frills here, but it was exactly the clean, comfortable, updated room I was hoping for. No surprises and close to Mass MOCA and a great restaurant.
The location to attractions was excellent. Lighting in the bathroom was awful. It was also nearly impossible to turn on other lamps in the room-the pushbutton switch on all others was nearly impossible to press. There was no a/c in the fitness room, and since the weather was so hot, I was unable to use it-very disappointing. When I questioned the person on at the front desk, she said it was "up to code" and "the hot air is pulled up to the ceiling by the box fan on the floor" She did not really even apologize for this situation- I would not choose to stay at this property again.
The Holiday Inn Berkshires allowed me to check out late.
Clean, comfortable, great staff! Leaving!
Staff earnest and friendly Fitness room had limited equipment
I like that the pool was open even tho it was january. Loved the room set up. Lover the staff, very friendly and helpful. Did not like how there is nothing around there. I'm use to seeing alot around me. And there was not much to do around there if you are not into art. The contemporary art museum was right in front of the hotel, but other than that, there is not much to do. The drive from new York was very nice. Middle of nowhere.
Staff, pub. Claimed they had a heated pool...it was definitely not heated. Unusable as far as we were concerned. Charged $40 for 2 dogs. Should have listed this on reservations site. Only had 'may have additional charges for pets.'
Great breakfast, wonderful ambience. Beautiful location. Plenty of hot water. Plowed out quickly following snow!! Lightning in room. Second visit, roimsvreslky need brighter lights.
The free breakfast was excellent, and the restaurant the night before was extremely accommodating for dinner when we didn't have a reservation. The restaurant staff and the food were excellent. The room was poorly decorated in 1950's decor with a very unpleasant musty odor. Only 5 tv channels, The heat did not work. The temperature never got above 60 degrees all night long. Not worth the price we paid.
Country charm, breakfast Musty
Clean - the room was very clean. People - staff were all wonderful. Location - good base point to go out an explore. Food - the restaurant was excellent. Was not expecting the road to have so much traffic. There are 3 buildings - one has the pool and the trade off is you have to cross the road to get to the restaurant. Not a big deal, just wasn't expecting that.
Our second visit to 1896. Staff pleasant and attentive to details. We chose the package with wine included. A bottle is delivered on your arrival. Nice touch after the drive. The Pub has a wonderful Chef and ambience! Great breakfast included. No.
Location--easy to find and close to our venue Room was the smallest ever encountered in years of travel--maybe large enough for 1 person. Microwave location made it impossible to hang clothing. Took a long time to adjust water pressure and temperature in shower. Lying in bed it was obvious someone had begun painting the ceiling and not finished the job. Really!? And why would someone hang two copies of the same framed print in a room?
Cleanliness, outdoor ambiance, quiet. Had everything you need in a small space. Toilet seat loose.
I appreciated the friendly greeting from the evening host. He and his wife had attended the same excellent play at the Williamstown Theater Festival as I and remembered seeing me. I did not like the sheets or the coffee, that had been standing for too long.
The location was convenient for our purpose which was to visit Tanglewood and other sites in the Berkshires
The room was clean and comfortable. They had forgotton that the room came with breakfast included, but when we produced the email with this info, they gave it to us.
It was perfectly located. Staff didn't seem aware that we requested a smoke free room and we had to ask for the complimentary breakfast. They were willing to meet requests. We got charged for parking which we did not anticipate. We would not stay here again. Not our style.
This new hotel is a gem. If there was an option for 6 stars I would have rated it a 6. The room was very large and comfortable, the common spaces in each floor we're inviting and unique. The staff was helpful and friendly. The attention to detail (cookies at turndown a vintage radio with Bluetooth, stocked refrigerator, and a spacious and well appointed bathroom) all made for a perfect stay. The location was not great. North Street is under construction and Pittsfield a little far afield from Tanglewood etc but honestly worth the drive for the comfort of the hotel.
Maybe the best non-resort hotel we've ever stayed in. The hotel was beautiful and furnished to perfection. Great staff. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were there for a ski weekend, but it was far too cold the second day. The person at the front desk asked us what we were looking to do and made a list of things for us to do along our ride home. We loved the rooms. Bathrooms were great. We are now looking for an excuse to go back to Pittsfield so we can stay there again. Nothing. Perfect Hotel.
Great place! Great bar! Great food! We enjoyed it all.
Cleanliness, location, great breakfast (wonderful food choices, good company!), provided info about nearby places of interest. Quiet, relaxed ambiance . Shared bathroom facilities, distance from room to bathroom. (Neither of these were a problem but it might have been more of an issue had it been more crowded.)
The staff were phenomenal! They were helpful and courteous and provided great customer service.
Pool was comfortable temperature, warmer than other hotels. Location was perfect, close to Shakespeare & Co., Shaker Village and Berkshire attractions. no
