The staff was really nice and helpful when we needed to change rooms, the room(s) were very clean, and the beds were comfortable, the free breakfast in the morning was pretty good and the staff running the restaurant part were friendly and nice as well.
We had a room right off the pool area, so it was a little loud from the pool traffic until it closed for the night. We also could hear every word the couple staying next to us were saying very clearly from across the room, even when we were trying to ignore them and ended up asking the front desk to call someone to check in them because of the things we heard. This isn’t the fault of the hotel though, just a bad coincidence our room was next to theirs.
Hotel in conversion provides value
Price was right, and the room was recently updated (single Queen room). Hotel is still in the process of renovation for conversion to a Ramada. The pool looks really nice, although I didn't use it. In general, it seems like Ramada bought it and hired the same company/people to run it while in transition. So you get non-Ramada level of service (very small continental breakfast, for instance), with cheap prices, along with updated building quality for 'free' while renovations are underway.
Mostly just no-yet-done things. A/C was individual under window type, and loud. New faux wood laminate floors are nice, but lots of sound comes underneath doorways to the hall and between adjacent guest rooms with passage door.
Situated off Highway 65 near the meeting point of I-35 and I-90, this Albert Lea hotel is a convenient home base for your visit, with easy access to Myre-Big Island State Park and downtown attractions. With versatile meeting and banquet space, it also provides the perfect venue for business conferences and special events. Fuel up with free breakfast and relax in an indoor pool and hot tub.
