Great location ; room with great view that looks out on “het Ij” water. Lovely area and Tram 6 takes you to Leideseplein in 10 minutes.
The location was nice and the staff was polite and listened our complains and tried to help us.
The bath is in the middle of the room, so if you’re not with someone that you know already from a while it may be really difficult and embarrassing to take a bath. The window was broken therefore the room was cold
It’s a totally funky, historic hotel right on line 7 tram that’ll take you right into downtown. There’s also line 26 that’ll take you to Amsterdam Centraal train station. The hotel has a brilliant restaurant that locals make use of as well. We stayed in The Piano Room (221) that had a grand piano, a dining room table for 10 and a bed that would easily fit 10 people! It was a hoot! Across the (not busy street) there’s a cafe, a Spanish restaurant, and a large sort of market (think upscale strip mall) with a bank, a CVS-type pharmacy, hair salon, and lots of other stores. In the later spring and summer there’s also a Lloyd Hotel canal boat stop right in front of the hotel.
Nothing, really. It’s a little aged but that comes with the history and they have struck the right balance between old and modern.
The staff were extra helpful.
The room was a little dusty.
Convenient location and interesting history
The staff spoke English very well and were very friendly. The location was right along a little convenient strip that had a grocery store and restaurant. It was about a 30 min walk into the heart of Amsterdam which was far enough to stay peaceful and close enough to do everything we wanted. The room was very large and had an interesting design to it. I'd stay here again.
With the room being as large as it was, felt a little empty. The furniture was interesting to look at but felt a little cheap. The matress was uncomfortable for both me and my friend.
