Pros: Angra Deep Blue is a great place to stay in Angra Dos Reis. The owner, Giuseppe, does everything he can to help his guests have a great time and make them feel like they are at home. Deep Blue is not like a hotel where you are anonymous; instead, Giuseppe gets to know you and offers suggestions for you to enjoy the area to the fullest. There is a beautiful deck right on the water that offers wonderful views of the Ilha Grande and the coastline. I highly recommend it.

Pros: Giuseppe is an amazing host, super accomodating, very caring and going the extra mile for his guests.

Cons: I could not sleep with the A/C in the room because it was too noisy.

Pros: Beautiful location, well designed, Giuseppe is extremely welcoming and keeps a close eye on everything. Sunsets are gorgeous. You can kayak to a nearby island, get a boat to sail around other islands, order a massage on the property, and you can have home cooked meals served. The design of the place is stunning and has a very personal touch. We met nice people on the property with whom we made friends. In summary, this was a 10/10 experience.

Pros: We would have enjoyed to stay for a complete week or more, so fine we were feeling. No excuse to miss this fantastic address, where you feel at home, because you are so sincerely welcome. Giuseppe and Gabriela are two so nice people always trying to make you comfortable and giving advises on what to do and where to go. Just follow the tips and you are sure to have unique experiences in paradise places. Deep Blue Residence is in a peaceful place, just on the ocean. The house is beautiful, artistic and just comfortable with many cosy corners where each one can find his favorite place. You can meet people from all over the world, meaning very rich and a variety of experiences, chats and exchanges. Just fun and enjoyed moments where you can share all or part of your moments.

Cons: Stay was too short. We would have enjoyed to stay for a complete week, so fine we were feeling.

Pros: It is a wonderful experience. We spent 5 days in the Pousada Agua Marinha and we were always treated friendly and kindly by the landlord and her staffs. Before we started our trip, Bianca contacted me and gave me some information about the road to the pousada and its neighborhood. When we arrived, she gave me some advice about travelling sights which were really helpful in our five-day trip. The room was clean and cozy and the breakfast was delicious. We had a great time there! I can not wait to go back!!!

Everything was better than ever before: soft linen and towels, great coffee extremely welcoming staff: things that make the difference from a good to a supreme experience. I want to come back just to stay in this place.

Pros: The location was so tranquil. There was a language barrier but nothing Google couldnt sort out, but your in Brazil. Staff very helpful, very clean. You could swim of the jetty or go kayaking or take a water taxi to a local island. Peaceful and bliss.

Cons: The food choices in the evening where a little limited. There was building work undertaken which some days started early and didn't finish until late.

Cons: Unfortunately, staff doesn't speak English at all. Nevertheless, they were trying to be helpful. The hotel location on GPS doesn't totally correspond to real location and it's a challenge for taxi driver to find it.

Pros: The view was incredible, they rent kayaks for free which was super fun. The room was very comfortable and clean. Overall amazing place!

Pros: The Pousada is a really good hotel, well location in the centre yet very quiet at night. It has clean rooms (ours had a balcony) cleaned daily. The breakfast was really good.

Pros: We had a family reunion, occupying 3 rooms as we spent a week at Casablanca over Christmas. From the moment we did our check-in, being welcomed by super professional, lovely and kind Priscila, to the moment we checked out with the owner, who was equally kind and lovely to us. All the staff is great, William, the cleaning ladies and the breakfast girls!! Breakfast was excellent, with delicious Brazilian delicacies! The rooms were super clean and comfortable. The beds and linen were of good quality, really comfy. Casablanca is close to the boat services, easy to reach, right in the centre, with all types of eateries etc around the corner. But in the evening it's very quiet and we could sleep in peace! Priscila provides all info you need for your stay and helps you with anything necessary. We felt very welcome and well taken care of! Thank you so much, Casablanca team, you do a great job and we hope to see you again soon!

Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful, giving us great tips on places to eat nearby and what trips were worth doing.

Pros: The owner is really kind and courteous, provided helpful advice and made sure we were having a good time. Breakfast was tasty with fresh fruit, rolls and toast, different cakes and scrambled eggs. The guesthouse is located in the middle of the small town so everything can be reached easily and within a short distance.

Cons: Rooms were relatively small but admittedly you don't travel to Ilha Grande to stay in your room A/C did not work which was quite uncomfortable during the night Only the owner speaks english so when she's not around communicating with the staff gets quite difficult.

Pros: Great location in the middle of the town, but also quiet so no disturbances. Great for a relaxing break in Ilha Grande

Pros: The property was super sweet, the cleanliness was good, the staff very friendly and the location was perfect! The coffee was really great!

Cons: The breakfast could have had a bit more variety, more fruits and things like pao do queijo. However, we had all we "needed" but a bit more for the price would have been nice.

Pros: The landscape and the nature surrounding the pousada. In the direction of the Colegio Naval we can walk nicely and spot Caretta caretta turtles. The restaurant view in front of the bay is simply amazing. They organize different options of boat tours.

Cons: Car noise during the night since we were at apt F, which is close to the street. This may not happen with other apts.

Cons: They tried to charge us twice for drinks and food, tired as in they added it to our final bill and had we not caught it they would have gotten away with it. Be aware!!

Pros: Our family had a wonderful stay! Staff was great, facilities were excellent, enjoyed the kayaks, the games area, the sauna and swimming pool. Everything works and is super clean. The food they serve is delicious, from breakfast, through drinks and appetizers. Rooms, including the beds were comfortable. We also took the transfer from Rio's international airport to Jamanta and when we came back from Ilha Grande, they also arranged our transfer from Angra to Paraty. Very impressive! Right on time (we arrived with an international flight at 6:30am! And the driver was waiting for us) Friendly and responsible drivers, who were very professional indeed. Thank you, Jamanta team; hope some day to stay with you again!

Pros: They have pretty much everything you need, including in house restaurant, boat tours, and other amenities (Parking, kayak, bikes, sauna, pool, all with no additional cost). Food and tours are very convenient leaving from the property and priced reasonably compared to other local competitors. Additionally, the staff is outstanding. From the bartender to the managers, they all get out of their way to make your stay pleasant.

Cons: We had a minor leak in our bathroom and the cleanliness on bedroom corners and under the bed could be improved. All minor details that didn’t impact our stay at all but those are the reasons why my rating is not 10. I’d stay there again and recommend it to others, regardless.

Pros: Lovely location, it was uphill and a lot of steps from the quay but we knew this when we booked and the view was lovely. Comfy bed and good shower, even including hot water. The room had both a fan and aircon, although we needed neither. Lovely breakfast.

Cons: Although wifi and a restaurant were promised in the description, neither existed. Wifi is available in the area designated where the breakfast takes place but this was completely separate from the block that contained the rooms. I had to keep in contact with my work so this caused me big problems. There are 3 restaurants in Praia Vermelha. There's also a pizzeria and a snack bar that weren't open in the 5 days we were there. After a bad experience at the Dolce Vita restaurant on our first night - extremely slow service and then one of us had cold chips, the other had a spaghetti bolognese that was so salty it was inedible; we asked to book at the pousada for the following night only to be told that they did not do meals. This left us with a choice of 2 restaurants for the duration and a walk to the beach in the dark whether we wanted to or not. Happily, both places rose to the occasion, with a special mention to Ponta da Barca, both food and hospitality are first class. Some of the steps down from the rooms to the main path are mossy and get very slippy after rain There was nowhere to hang clothes, the room could do with either some hooks or a small rail. We booked a double room, but somehow ended up with a family room with a double bed and bunks as well, it was not the romantic hideaway we envisaged. Our bathroom sink leaked. Only for a little while when the water was draining, but it did flow into the bedroom making the floor wet. Our room had a very strange foam toilet seat which compressed into the toilet bowl when you sat on it, it was really uncomfortable. There was no door handle on the bathroom door, meaning that it was impossible to close the door from the bedroom. There is no glass in the windows of the pousada and no solid door, only louvred shutters. There is no way to exclude mosquitoes and no mosquito nets. We did not suffer too badly due, but it's best to be aware and bring your own mosquito net.

Pros: I loved Pousada Lagamar, the location was lovely, inside the rainforest and very close to the sea. From my room I was able to see amazing sunsets. Delicious food, great staff, specially the owners, Luciana and Ezequiel, who were very helpful with the planning of my trip. I also definitely felt the love Eduardo puts in everything he does, from receiving you with a great smile to leaving your room sparkling clean. I would love to go back!!!

Pros: The location is great, with a nice view. We stayed here 3 nights, and got an upgrade to a room with a better view after the first night, because someone else did not show up. You can have dinner at the pousada, with the owner cooking a nice 3-course dinner. Very good fish was served, and also vegetarian meals on request. The first night, there was no electricity because a cable from the mainland broke, but we got candles in the room and we could still have dinner there by candlelight, which actually made for a nice island atmosphere. You can make day hikes in the area, snorkel (the owner can explain a snorkel spot where there are often sea turtles; unfortunately, we did not have good weather during our stay) and organise boat tours. We did the walk to the cave (ask beforehand for specific direction) which was very nice (the cave is on private property, the owner hangs around to guide you to the cave, 20rs per person, he gave us cacao and bananas in addition to the cave viewing :-)). We arrived at Pousada Lagamar from Vila do Abroãa (with a decent speedboat, costs 450rs; simple taxi boat should be cheaper, but in bad wheather maybe not so nice), from the mainland from Angra dos Reis is 50rs per person with Natiga.

Pros: - quiet location in the jungle with ocean view but a small beautiful beach 2 minutes away. - most amazing staff (it’s good to speak Spanish or Portuguese but English will be fine as well) - Ezequiel and Jorge were amazing, helped a lot during my stay. - really nice dinner possibility in the pousada for 60R$. - all kinds of activities can be done by boat from the next beach (visiting all beaches of the island and around, scuba diving, snorkeling and much more) All in all perfect 4 nights to calm down and enjoy this beautiful island. Thanks again to Ezequiel and Jorge for your kind and lovely way to handle things. You are the best.

Cons: - prices in the restaurants around are not cheap for Brazil but normal for an island. - WiFi only in public area, not in the rooms. But why would you need WiFi in the room on this island?! - no party atmosphere (but I wasn’t looking for that)

Pros: I had an absolutely amazing time at Lagamar and Praia Vermelha! Ezequiel and Luciana are lovely and so are the rest of the staff! I felt so at home I booked an extra 4 nights. The breakfast is good and the dinners are amazing, cooked by them. The location is 5 min from different beaches, it's super quiet and with awesome views. Praia Vermelha has nice places to eat (the pizzeria!) and at the Pousada they can organise different boat tours for you. For me, it was the best experience in Brazil so far, I highly recommend!!

Pros: Everything. Was the perfect choice after 5 days touristing in Rio. The location is amazing. It's just a step away from a private beach of white sand and waveless clear clean water. Rooms a nice enough, comfy and clean. Pools are medium sized and perfect for kids. My 3 year old fell in love with the playground. Food was good, too. And all the people work there were extremely kind and working for making us have a perfect stay. I'd come back for sure and totally recommend it.

Cons: Angra dos Reis is not great. The city is polluted and unsafe, there is nothing to do. If you are going to Ilha Grande its better to skip Angra than to stay there. The pousada is fine, the pool is smaller than expected from the pictures. The rooms are very basic. And the gym isn't as good as the picture make it seem. The equipment is old and needs to be cleaned. The breakfast is good, and dinner is decent. The staff is very kind. There is literally nothing to do around the pousada. You can walk 3 km to the very run-down town nearby (do not do this after dark!) but apart from the beach near the hotel there are no trails, no nature, no nothing. Fine if you have business in Angra, otherwise don't waste time and go straight to ilha or paraty.

Pros: It is located by the beach. You don’t need to drive or use your wallet on the property. Just relax and enjoy!!! It’s great for families with young kids or elder people.

Cons: The breakfast is really good, but lunch and dinner could be a lot better. The parking lot is small so you have to leave the keys on the reception. The shower had almost no pressure.

Cons: We booked for a room and when we arrived the room was not available. They put us on a differente room worst than we booked and we were excepted something to balance the desagrement but nothing. The girl was not nice to this point and he was her fault. We should have a discount because we paid the same for something worst. More the breakfast included is not really. Because they give you ticket for the bakery downstairs, ok the bakery is good but you just have 8reais, and off you want a juice it is already 6. You can’t eat nothing with 8reais, that for me is not a breakfast if I can’t take the minimum. If you arrive late you ave to call, but if you don’t have phone how can you do, they don’t specify on the booking, they should change that.

Pros: It was so nice to stay at your place for those three nights! I really do enjoyed it. Luigi helped a lot with recommendations. I did the hiking trail with Noah (accidentally. Sorry for that but he was a lovely guide and bodyguard ;D). So everything was perfect!

Pros: Really nice place, there was live music when I arrived. Very well equipped kitchen and they also offer food at night. The hosts will help you with any information you might need. Perfect if you want to spend some time on the beach or as a stopover/starting point for going to ilha grande.

Pros: Just 2min walk to the beach! The hostel is inside a "Condominio", so it's safe and quite. We stayed in the Privat Room, which is huge, with a big bathroom (Whirlpool) and balcony. The house is calm, offers Burger and Snacks if you won't cook by yourself. Cause there are not that much restaurants around, but a small supermarket with everything you need. The breakfast is delicious, with bread, ham, cheese, fruits and juice. When you want some relaxing days at a little paradise it's the right place. And Luigi, who works there speaks also english.
