Excellent location - close to town centre and also overlooking the Apolda castle.
I stayed just for one night but I enjoyed the stay very much, particularly for the room and the silence. no
Everything: room, food (very good restaurant), facilities, friendly staff A minibar and a safe were not in the hotelroom, would be nice.
The hotel was an interim stop on our travel. Staff was professional and helpful. Facility was kept well.
clean, efficient and helpful staff - we just overnighted on transit to Dresden and were most impresssed with the staff in the resturant as we turned up late and they still made the effort to supply dinner after 10 pm
Too far for a backpacker.Required for additional paying without any booking price( only this case for a long trip ) Too distant for a tourist without a car !!
Easy and comfortable parking. Varying and good tasting evening meny. Not so easy to find the way from Weimar Centre in the evening. You could have written that we should pass below the Autobahn, that had made it easier. The spa department was very silent and had no staff. I turned in the door and did not want to swim at all.
The Staff was friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was good value for the additional cost. Location was convenient. There was nothing we did not like.
Really clean; excellent breakfast; lovely swimming pool
The generous lay-out, the quiet surroundings and the lovely breakfast The fact that there is only one armchair in the double room. Also the pillows were too limp and lumpy and there was no additional pillow to help one get more comfortable
private reason The noise of the air condition system in the whole area during the night.
A warm welcome with a clean good size room and comfortable bed. Excellent value for money
We liked it all, and would like to return another time
The personel was very friendly and helpful. Well done!
The first room assigned to us had a smelly bathroom. The ac did not work in the 2nd room and the hotel was not able to repair the ac during our stay. The hotel did not inform us about the progress and did assign us to a room with a working ac.
Good location in Weimar. 4 star. Decent sized clean room.
Swiming pool is nice
The SPA Reception staff not friendly (on the cold note of typical German). Too few staff spoke English, despite their young age.
Quiet room, good bathroom products, very polite staff, walking distance from the city center breakfast very expensive, but that is the case in all hotels now...
I was positive about nothing at all, this was far below the average Hilton quality! 1. The Hotel was too far from the center. The brochure and website stated that is was only a couple of minutes walking from the center. As a matter of fact it was far more than 20 minutes. 2. The room was very dull and old fashioned. Far below the normal level of a Hilton Hotel. 3. This was the only hotel in out trip though Germany that had no free Internet access.
All my additional requests were fulfilled, staff was very polite and ready to help, room was tidy.
the cleaning stuff do not put all neseccary stuff for taking shower (e.p. shower cap) in the bathroom everyday
Very comfortable, spacious room overlooking the park. Good sound-proofing. Nice extra-long beds were wonderful. Fine, English-speaking staff. Very good buffet breakfast at reasonable price. Excellent reasonably-priced parking lot.
Ambience Wifi, although advertised, not available in our part of hotel.
Friendly attitude and efficiency of all staff members - truly remarkable and worthy of a five star hotel rooms are very small
intelligent and courteous staff special treat for birthday
This hotel was comfortable, stylish and of high quality, consisting of excellent value for money. Free, unlimited internet use in the room we chose proved most valuable. All staff were efficient, courteous, relaxed and friendy and I would be happy to return regularly. Nothing.
Good location, good service, small but comfortable room, good value in general
locality I wanted to propose to my girlfriend, first the Restaurant was closed for the evening, then the Rasputin cellar also closed last minute and lastly we got offered the Cafe to eat.
Small room. Better to park in street, cost wise. Expensive breakfast. No air conditionning, be forewarned for summer! Unacceptable for a recent 4* hotel.
Excellent location. Warm cosy rooms. Nice breakfast. Limited room service available before 1800. Rude staff at breakfast.
good location, very helpful staff, good value for 5-star hotel
Excellent position in Weimar and lovely atmosphere
Central location Very noisy rooms at the front - which were advertised as 'facing the park' but there a busy street runs in front of the hotel. Airco didn't work so we had to open the windows. Staff very efficient but also not particularly friendly.
Excellent location, almost on the back of the Goethe house, it faces a beautiful park; rooms are large and modern, dogs are welcomed, though the hotel charges a few extra euros, breakfast excellent but expensive perhaps a four star hotel should offer a free wireless connection
comfort, quiet room, close to city no kettle for tea or coffee in the room
Nice restaurant. Great location , next to park and close to centre.
quiet comfortable room excellent breakfast friendl helpful staff good location
The Hotel was modern and efficient, displaying discreet luxury. The restaurant was very good, the breakfast buffet spectacular. The rooms were airy and comfortable, high quality linnens. I would recommend this Hotel
a very good location and a pleasant atmosphere
Really nice hotel very close to the city center. Everything was perfect!
The staff were friendly. It was too bad that we could not take the offer of an Mövenpick ice cream for our children as they each just had a large scoop in the city and it was right before dinner time. The restaurant or the pub where we had dinner was nice and cozy with a very friendly waitress. The larger restaurant was later occupied by a group tour guests. Breakfast excellent with large vegetable/fruit selection. The pillows were a bit too soft for me.
excellent and convenient location, friendly and helpful staff, good food.
All was fine. The breakfast was fabulous! My room faced the side street with Subway shop and the Hotel's verandah on it. In the evening and at night people sitting there produced a lot of noise, so I had to keep my window shut.
Helpfull friendly staff who also spoke english
Proximity to station, large room
Staff very helpful and friendly. Rooms kept very clean and sheets changed regularly. Very close to the station. Hotel food was expensive and poor quality compared to local restaurants.
The rooms are clean and comfortable. The location is excellent... right across from the railway station and a short walk to the center of town. Mostly it was the attitude of the front desk staff. Not only not helpful but borderline antagonistic. The wifi did not work in our room. We reported it immediately. "What do you want me to do... the wifi is working for everyone else". Same story next morning, so on the third night requested a change of rooms, on a different floor, which solved the issue immediately. We arrived at 9pm after a long journey. The restaurant is open until 10 we were told... when we came down for dinner :sorry the cook went home early... no food available. We talked to someone who had stayed at the hotel in the past and they mentioned that this is a frequent situation at the hotel. The bar is a smoking bar, so no chance to enjoy a nightcap.... Thus not even close to the excellent rating we expected....
A beautiful hotel. Handy to transport and historical sights. Great restaurant. Highly recommend it
Close but not too close to main rail station. City center a fifteen-minute stroll away; five minutes by city bus.
Everything you want to see is nearby parking was expensive (9 euro p.d.)
Location was excellent, hotel staff were extremely friendly and efficient, room was clean and comfortable, although with window open (as very hot) rather noisy.
The hotel is situated in the centrum of the city. The personnel of the hotel is perfect, rooms are very comfortable.
The hotel is in an ideal city centre location. It is light, airy, aesthetically pleasing and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and the reception staff speak excellent English. The air-conditioning is centrally managed. While requests for changes in room temperature could be (and were) implemented via the reception, we missed the lack of control actually in the room - for example in the middle of the night.
Good location and rich breakfast. Friendly reception. N/A
very clean room, good breakfast no
Spacy room No atmoshpere, more a hospital than a hotel.
Very helpful staff and excellent rooms with good facilities. Very central in Jena and convenient for everything. For Booking.com: The hotel were expecting us, but had their normal room rate allocated to the group, not the discounted room rate I had booked through you. It was not a problem, and the hotel accepted this and took a photocopy of your booking reservation that I had printed off, but I would have expected the hotel to know about, and adjust, the room rate before our arrival.
modern building, fairly clean and comfortable really good variety of food in the breakfast buffet but it was rather costly too
friendly staff, central location and very good value for money
Impressive architure, good sized rooms, good location, clean and well presented room. Staff polite and friendly. The mattress was uncomfortable - you can feel the bed springs digging into you, there should, as a minimum be an additional padded mattress cover. Also, the toilet paper is very cheap, like using sandpaper!!!
The location is excellent and the standard of the facilities available is wonderful.
It was refined, elegant and on the main market square. Prices were refined, too. Level of english of staff was very poor considering the quality of the hotel. While wonderful to overlook the main square, the heat meant opening the windows and suffering the noise. Some might want to ask for a room overlooking the courtyard.
the situation. the hotel is advertised as historical, but there are no traces of anything older than a few years: just another standardized european hotel. The 6 euros charged to use the internet for two minutes appears as a unwelcoming gesture
Excellent situation with own parking.
Perfect location directly on the main town square, but easy to access parking in rear. Classic old hotel, thoroughly renovated. Nice bar area. Good, though pricey, breakfast. Wireless internet access limited to certain rooms (they graciously moved me) and through T-com at 18 EUR for 24 hours. Room was a bit too warm with windows closed.
It was all good. We were originally allocated a small room right at the top of the building, and although it advertised 'wi fi' in all rooms it was impossible to get. On talking to reception, they upgraded us to the only available room, which was like a suite.....and the upgarde was free of charge, so full marks to the hotel. Breakfast not included in the price and was very expensive, but there were plenty of places to eat near the hotel. o not a big problem.
parking facility, location of the hotel, friendly staff no airco
Central location, walked to the Opera, to Church for concert and to Weimarhalle ( symphony hall) No problem during day or night!! nothing at all
5 star hotel that really is a 5 star hotel. Do not miss the breakfast as it it the best I've ever had and I've been around. Anything you would like is out in the buffet and they cook the eggs perfectly to order and bring it to your table. You also can get espresso or cappuccino at no additional charge. It's a short summer season so I understand that there is no air conditioning but there should have been a fan in the room.
Excellent service; a place to smoke cigars; excellent food; lots of history(Hitler stayed there and caused the place to be remodeled before WW!!). Understated luxury with a great location.
size of room with seperate lounge.
I stayed at Cafe Hoyer because it was half way to my destination. I wanted somewhere clean comfortable and cheap and the hotel ticked all the boxes. The owners were charming, friendly and helpful. Sadly I was too tired to take advantage of the beer garden and other facilities so am unable to give them an accurate rating.
Location 10km from Weimar, the purpose of our stay. Staff polite but not friendly. This seemed to be a B&B, not a hotel
Excellent breakfast that was included. Hotel manager was very nice and helpful. The restaurant staff was horrible. We arrived and wanted to eat there for dinner. The waitress was terrible and the food even worse. However the manager comped the meal which was very nice of her.
very kind and helpful staff, very clean hotel, nice breakfast, nicely furnished room we got a small room with a small bathroom but comfortable
Atmosphere Food at the resaurant
I have no idea of value for money. It would have been nice to have tea and coffee in the rooms. It would have been nice to have WiFi as standard.
Clean and comfortable The bar was closed
Awesome breakfast! Needs an iron and tea making facilities in the room
Wintergarden very nice. Service during Breakfast to improve ! In parhouse too dark.
The hotel provides good amenities, comfortable rooms for the price. The location is bad. I went there by car, but had difficulties finding it. It is located far from the center, and in middle of Plattenbau district.
Stayed 5 nights with no change of bed linen throughout the stay. Not good value for money €135
The quiet location The ability to open a window and control the disired temperature at a level of simply switching off the heating No, whenever in Jena I stay in this hotel
The hotel was a pleasant surprise. The rooms were renovated and very nice to stay in; they were large and clean. The breakfast was pretty good and the restaurant really nice to start your day in. Although situated in a region of Jena, which is dominated by big blocks of flats, the view of the hotel (at least from my room) is a nice and quite green scenery. Most of the services were extra (e.g. parking, which was also relatively expensive imho). As the hotel is situated in the suburbs, you should better have a car to drive to the centre (which was nevertheless always easy to get to, we didn't face any traffic problems even in the morning).
The decor. It was really nice
I ate dinner with two others at the hotel one evening and it was very good. The staff was very accomodating and helpful. If something wasn't on the menu they tried their best to make something acceptable...and it worked out great for the two with special requests.. I found it a bit expensive, and there was just one flat pillow, but that was fine for me. The exercise facilities are minimal...no weights, just a stationary bike and treadmill. They tend to focus on spa services instead of fitness offerings. It would be nice to have a small gym for travelers who don't get a chance to get away from their work other than their night at the hotel.
location, charm of hotel, great breakfast I wish a family room had been available
Very comfortable and attractive rooms, friendly staff and perfect location at very reasonable price. N/A
nice traditional hotel in excellent location with free parking a second pillow would have been more comfortable
Central location, friendly reception by staff, abundant choice of breakfast
Closeness to the center of the old town of Weimar, friendliness of staff, and practicality of a well-equipped kitchenette.
It was close to the city centre and had free, secure parking No one helped us (3 guests) with the luggage on arrival or departrure
Location is great and the ambiance also No internet access in the room, and no coffee machine for expresso in the breakfast.
The location was fantastic: right on the centre of Weimar within walking distance of all the major tourist spots. The reception staff were very helpful and pleasant and my single room on the 3rd floor was lovely and very comfortable: it felt like home with the advantages of a hotel. The whole hotel was spotlessly clean and tastefully furnished. The buffet breakfast was very good indeed with a wide choice of food in an airy and light-filled modern room in the back extension. The car park was most convenient and the hotel easy to find. No there was not. E=We had a very pleasant stay and on the day of departure were able to leave our luggage in the luggage room until 4 pm.
Breakfast was included, parking was free and at the hotel (not off site), very good location A printed, color city map would be better to give the guests rather than a xerox copy which was harder to read.
The staff were friendly and competent and the hotel was clean and welcoming in furnishing. A hotel without airconditioning on a hot summer week is not really nice when trying to sleep. I was "lucky" enough to have two windows', but of course one didn't open, so I couldn't even get a breeze developed through the room. Regardless the heat wasn't to bad, but it did make falling asleep difficult.
very central and at night it was very quiet!
Central location, a bit too high price The internet did not work and th staff did not seem to care
This historic hotel serves a very well breakfast. A wireless interenet is also available directly from the room. A ventilation noise in the buth room can be minimized.
Air-conditioning was marginal to ineffective
Good Free internet access. Good Size room. Good restaurant. Nice slightly old fashioned ambiance. Limited English TV channels. Poor parking.
breakfast and proximity to the downtown very poor english
Hotel is in a good location and is clean and tidy. It is the third stay at this hotel and the restaurant food is lovely.
Very helpful staff, comfortable room in a historic setting close to central Jena. Good food, definitely not an impersonal chain hotel. Air con would have been nice, but it would be difficult, I imagine, to install it in such a historic building.
Breakfast was good. The hotel is located near the city center, about 10 minutes by foot. The hotel does not have air conditioner and during out stay it was really hot. We left the window opened during the night but the temperature didn't drop
Apart from room, the hotel feels like a solid, traditional, high quality hotel. Restaurant was good - good food and good service. The room decor was a little old fashioned, bar service was very slow, checkout was slow too.
best location for sightseeing in center of city. clean and comfortable room. Very good buffe for breakfast!
Excellent location, friendly service, comfortable rooms.
location in downtown 1) I booked non smoking room but was not respected. We were placed to room for smokers with awful smell. 2) I would expect room is fitted with a small bar frig at such a hotel
Great location, good value for the price. Parking rather far.
Decent rooms, very central location - right in the middle of the altstadt, good breakfast. Rooms were spotless clean.
Location is excellent for visiting Weimar and surrouning areas with all bus services within three minutes walk. A quiet and comfortable hotel with good breakfast.
Pretty much everything, really! No
Location, price/quality, breakfast, staff
Friendly and helpful staff
Room and service. No have wireless internet and cooling fan (in Summer)
Great location, friendly staff, very good breakfast.
It's in a very nice part of town, and not too far from the station - but you can't really walk it!
The locationin the center of Weimar Little and dark room. Noise of mucic in the evening.
Room is very good, braekfast also, location exellent Difficult to connect to the internet
lt was so nice with the restaurant in the courtyard, one night there even was kletzmer-music for a few hours (not too loud, not too late) The surroundings are of the utmost interest when you are somewhat interested in the cultural history of Gernany and Europe Now a days it seems almost ridiculous that the hotel wants to charge you for using the internet. Who want to pay several euros just for checking your mailbox to se if a message has arrived. Even though you are are bringing and using your own Laptop or mini-pc. I had to carry mine to a bar som hundred meters away, where the access was free, as it often is on hotels and bars now a days in other parts of Europe.
Good location for sightseeing. About 20 minutes walk from Station.
The staff was helpful, the rooms were immaculately clean, quite, restful atmosphere, and close to tourist attractions. The city maps are not very accurate...
The location was perfect next to all the key sites with plenty of options for bars and restaurants. It was hard to find due to works in the square, and we got quite confused, but it's tucked away and the little road past was inaccessible at the time we went. Be patient!
Clean hotel, good food, relevant location. The airconditioning was too loud to keep it on during the night. Opening the window was possible though and did the trick as good.
Very good service level and well positioned for my visit to a local company - Jenoptik.
The room is quiet good. Pillow is usable (often in germany there are too soft). WiFI is available for free in all room. Breakfast is good. The climate control system is old; not usable for all the night. The control informations are written in German. There are 4 steps in the middle of the corridor; you have to lift your luggage.
It was clean and friendly and what you expect from a Best Western... We found it perfect as a stop for our road trip... it was easy access right off the motorway...
Good breakfast, good food at restaurant Difficult for traveler with many bags using public transportation
Near the E40 motorway. Great if you're tired of driving and looking for a place to sleep for as little money as possible but with a great comfort of well-known hotel chain. I found it quite unusual to have a bathroom sink in the bedroom. The rest of the bathroom appliances (bathtub, toilet, etc.) are in the bathroom, but sink was separated. That reminds me old, built in mid-50's or mid-60's hotels. It's not bad, it's just a bit odd.
Friendly staff, safe private parking, food OK. Not excessively clean - though generally acceptable - but you cannot expect too much at this price. Parking close to the hotel but extremely difficult to find without detailed instructions - the gate is not marked in any way.
Nice clean room and good service. Food excellent. Had to pay for internet access. Because of location it gets noisy at night with people passing by and talking loudly.
Good room, location. decent price Restaurant service was slow. At checkout some restaurant service was added to the bill even though no extra service had been provided. After discussing the point, however, the extra charged was removed from the bill.
Central location in Jena The smokey atmosphere in the bar/restaurant - we chose to eat out each night.
very large room / good beds the restaurant will not enter soon into the top 10 of the best places to eat in Jena !!!
no elevator to room on 3rd floor; no parking space; had to park in public garage several blocks away. Expensive when compared to other hotels during same trip
I just like this hotel. It is not a modern one you find in any country, but a house with a charm created by its history. Everything was fine, close to the center of Jena and University. Hope to come back. My room was one the second floor. The stair case is OK, but for an older person may be a problem. I think there is no elevator in the hotel.
well located, characteristic hotel with old tradition blanket too hot
Good location, close to the center; size of room and bathroom The bedlines were too old, breakfast was poor
position in the city center, big room, very nice restaurant in the building cleaning was not done in a proper way
