Pros: This is a lovely, family run guest accommodation in a very convenient and picturesque location. The hotel is conveniently close to a freeway exit but hidden away at the end of a quiet road near a beautiful forest. The parking was easy and despite no English from the German hosts we were given a warm and comprehensive introduction to our accommodation. The room had a very functional kitchenette with much more equipment than many other places we have recently stayed in. There was a big TV, the wifi was excellent and the beds were comfortable. Overall a very good place for a few nights to explore the area.

Pros: Our boutique double room was large, comfortable, and attractive, very well designed with spaces to hold all of our traveling gear. The bathroom was wonderful! Lovely staff and very nice breakfast. Located just across the street from a beautiful cemetery with a small Russian orthodox church and the burial vault of the Dukes of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach, Goethe, and Schiller, and just a few blocks walk from the center of town. Very pleased with everything!

Cons: Small bathroom, noise of the other guests, breakfest with few itens

Pros: We never received a more friendly welcome. We were much too early but they did everything to make the room available. Thank you again! Also the location is great: only 5 minutes walking and you are in the park, 5 more minutes and you are at the Amalia library. And for us very important: car could be parked behind the hotel. Room, bathroom and breakfast very good. We will book there again!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The friendliness of the owner and the high standard of the accommodation exceeded our expectations of a B&B. Its set in a lovely little village 15 mins outside of Erfurt City. The booking was for a room for 3 people but in fact we had 2 double beds rooms (one with twins) a shower/room and a kitchenette with a large sofa and a dining area. Plus a tv & satellite box with several channels. Free wifi which we were given a code for during our entire stay. The breakfast was lovely and traditional and plentiful which we were also asked each day what time we would like it. Lars the owner gave us maps and information about the surrounding area, fantastic. Cannot recommend Pension Sonja Muller enough, we would love to go back.
Cons: Nothing not to like

Pros: Our host, Lars, was very welcoming. Parking was ideal. Breakfast was wonderful, This place was spotlessly clean. The garden was lovely and the village as a whole was tranquil and pretty.

Cons: Nothing.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Personal and helpful reception on arrival, in a very pleasant environment. Well prepared and very clean room, with a balcony and view over the countryside. Our minimal German matched our host's minimal English, but fun communicating. A simple but very nice breakfast. The local town of Weimar is a 'must see'.
Cons: Be aware that country "pensions" are likely cash only - no cards.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very nice host, clean rooms, nice bathroom. Very good!
Cons: The pillows were a bit too soft, but that was the only thing that could've been better.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice apartment and little restaurant.
Cons: We were locked outside, in the cold, because the door was locked and nobody explained how we can get in at night. There was a little sign in German by the door handle and we input that into Google Translate to finally get instructions on how to open the door. Also, because somebody from the staff didn't speak English, we thought we were invited to breakfast, while in fact we had to pay for it. A pretty good breakfast, by the way.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Noisy. My room was facing and near the back of a restaurant. Woke up at 6:00 am because of the noise. It was supposed to be an appartment but there was only one bed. The others had to sleep on the couch. Very small room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in the top floor #31 apartment with a balcony facing the courtyard and underneath the public terrace. There were two bedrooms, we slept in the double-bed and it was extremely quiet and restful. The space is tastefully decorated and has all the conveniences needed. The location is perfect, as it's just steps from the main market square, but situated in a quiet alley away from the main tourist throngs. The staff was very kind and helpful, and the parking also was very convenient. We will definitely stay here again and look forward to our next visit!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff (Ali was of great help with good tips), very good food, the chef is top! Rooftop terrace was a big extra. A home away from home.
Cons: Early morning bouncing kids in the apartment above us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was just amazing! Clean and comfortable rooms perfect for those who travel with kids and animals. The location is awesome!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location, very friendly and helpful! Well designed space with all we need with small children. Kids loved the hidden playspace in the Cafe. Parking is now just a few minutes away by foot for a good price per day!
Cons: A bit difficult to find when arriving by car. We weren't sure if we could enter the alley and unload there and had to ask first. Also there was a creaking noise in the walls which we reported and they were going to look into. We guessed if nobody told the staff they wouldn't know about this since you only hear it when you sleep in the room. So probably being fixed now.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: everything was perfect.
Cons: Only the pillows are too soft.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location, very central, next to Goethe's house/museum. In a tiny quiet street. Very friendly staff, children friendly interiors.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location next to Altstadt. Large room with a sitting area and kitchen plus a balcony. Very comfy bed.
Cons: Only issue was parking. We parked a block away and carried our luggage and it cost 25 Euros a day. Also no AC or fan so it was quite warm.

Cons: Outsidevlookef a bit scruffy
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Historic building and restaurant with character
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous location with the opportunity to park onsite (7.50€/night). Extremely nice lady at the front desk who also took care of the breakfast. The breakfast was very good and you could get as much coffee as you want. The room was very clean and comfortable/spacious. Lots of 'closet' space to put luggage and clothes.
Cons: The weather - rained a fair amount.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located in the very center of the city, close to all sightseeing sites. The breakfast is very good and provides many different things. A car park is available at the back of the hotel.
Cons: No one was in the hotel for check-in. A code is provided to get the key (through e-mail and call on my mobile). It works well but is unpersonal. The staff for breakfast or for check out is just professional. The hotel is lacking a bit of 'humanity'.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Room were nice and clean. Breakfast was very good. Nice staff.
Cons: Extremely noisy. No a/c so had to have windows open to street which was above late open cafes and bars. Perhaps would be nice in winter with windows closed.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Really great location in the centre! Our room (100) was spacious, clean, very comfortable and with a great view on Frauenplanplatz! Breakfast very nice on terrace and with very friendly staff.
Cons: Parking was promised on site, but was not available. This should have been communicated, after a long drive you don't like the parking troubles, especially when one chooses a hotel for their parking spots. Reception welcome was not sympathetic. Some people might have problems with street noise, we didn't mind. No elevator.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The fact that parking was provided at the premesis and the breakfast was exellent
7.5 Good
Pros: Clean and quiet room with good bathroom.
Cons: No lift / 2nd floor. The entrance is more like a corridor than what you’d expect from a 3 star hotel.
Resort Schloss Auerstedt - Bad Sulza - Building
12
9.0 Excellent (230 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Bad Sulza, Resort Schloss Auerstedt is a 1-minute drive from Toskana Therme and 11 minutes from Rudelsburg. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent for those, who loves silence and very peaceful holidays - we had holiday home in territory with kitchenette. The Restaurant was more than Excellent.
Cons: Breakfast was too expensive for us - 16EUR per person. During our stay (6 nights) - there wasn't room service, but we are traveling with dogs - so it was important.
6.8 Good
Pros: Very nice and quiet location, good breakfast.
Cons: After the booking, we received a nice email asking if we'd like any arrangement upon our arrival on Sunday. But it did not mention that on Sunday there is no reception at all on the site: we learnt this from a notice posted at the closed entrance gate, so we had to drive back to Bad Sulza (we had just been there...), check-in and pick up the key at another hotel, and drive back. Not the end of the world, but overall almost half an hour lost, that could (and should!) have been saved by a simple email, or by advising in the booking confirmation. Not ok for a hotel of this category and price. Also to be noticed: the bedroom space in the room is upstairs but there is a bathroom/WC only downstairs. Just my personal taste, but I found it very inconvenient, especially when you need to use it during the night.
Gasthaus Zur Noll - Jena - Building
13
8.9 Excellent (633 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Gasthaus Zur Noll is situated in a historic building housed in a pretty alleyway in the heart of Jena. It offers free WiFi and an excellent traditional restaurant. Rooms are individually furnished and all include a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom. The rooms are located on 4 floors, and almost all are accessible by lift/elevator. Staff will also happily help with luggage. A rich and vitamin-packed breakfast buffet is offered each morning. The restaurant specialises in Thuringian cuisine as well as general German dishes and Italian starters. The manager is a keen runner and likes to share info on his favourite jogging routes in and around Jena.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It is in a very city centre. There are two buildings - an old one and a super new one. My room appeared to be in a new one on the top floor and had a balcony with a really great city view. They have a restaurant which is also for breakfast in the old building having a historical-like interior. They have free parking but it can not be booked. I was lucky enough to find a free place.
7.5 Good
Pros: Everything OK, nog problem. It's several old buildings put together, which makes it interesting, but it makes it sometimes difficult to find your way.
Cons: For dinner I was seated in the "Biergarten", which is, as you guessed in the garden, in a heatet tent. The comfort there could be better. The food was good, however.
6.3 Good
Pros: Breakfast are good!
Cons: We book a room in the old Hause but got a room in a modern "dry" room...nothing related with the atmosphere that we were looking for.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is an outstanding place.
Cons: They don't speak much English, but enough to get the key and pay.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: What a wonderful surprise this accommodation was, it is central to everything, friendly staff and good breakfast.
Cons: Parking was tricky, but once we found how to get in the car park all was good.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, quiet, clean.
Cons: I would appreciate a fridge in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful big room situated in the heart of the city. It is a heritage building, the inside of both the hotel and the room display this in the way that they incorporate both the old structure of the place and its modern amenities.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Hard to park car near hotel
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast buffet, was amongst the most impressive I've seen. Fresh vegetables and fruits, large selection bread, cheese, sausages, fine meats, patés, yoghurts,...
Cons: After due deliberation, I can honestly say there isn't a single topic I would mention here. Everything was just perfect. Keep up the good work.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This little gem is the. best kept secret in Germany, old world charm, culture, tradition cobble stone streets around the property are for walking traffic only. You walk the streets and it appears you stepped back in time 100 years
Cons: all was splendid.

Cons: No air-conditioning, too hot when outside temperatures over 30*C
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was plenty , variable and well presented ,
Cons: Although the hotel is located on a pedestrian-only street, it is fair noisy well into the early hours from pasing young folks
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very modern, clean, great location, very comfortable bed
Cons: Everything was perfect!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Comfort, cleanliness and location are very good, with good selection of food and beverages at the breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cheap and comfortable no thrills, other than parking my car on a garage chain system. No air con but the windows did open, good breakfast nice area to discover.
Cons: Possibly the lack of air con but it didn't spoil our stay.
6.3 Good
Pros: Comfy bed, clean room. A perfect location in heart of Jena.
Cons: No trash bag for trash bin! No sandals for the room! No shampoo! Walls were awefully damaged. I got room service even though i had the do not disturb sign!?!?
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Ideally located near old town, good breakfast and helpful staff.
Cons: Modern and a bit too too minimalist for us (think concrete corridors) , but did the job. No air conditioning, so is very warm in summer. Our paid upgrade to a 'mountain view room' was disappointing- we could just about see the hills over the rooftops from the 4th Floor.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Due to my late check-in they set me an instructional e-mail, which I didn't read. So the reception man made sure to meet me in person despite he was going to leave an hour before my arrival.

8.9 Excellent (477 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Pension La Casa dei Colori in Weimar, you'll be within a 5-minute walk of Wittums-Palace and Weimar Haus - Neue Geschichtserlebnis GmbH. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Park garage, good bathroom
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Incredibly friendly stuff, good taste in decorations, clean and very central location!!!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast room has a very nice atmosphere. The hotel is located right in the centre, a very convenient basecamp. There is a parking available onsite, albeit with a tricky lift system. The whole interior design is colourful, clean, and has a very good eye for detail.
Cons: There is no elevator. The head pilow is very soft and small. Reading in bed is therefore unpleasant, you cannot stuf it in your back.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room: beautiful, large, clean. Breakfast: richly varied. Staff: very friendly. Location: in the center of Old Weimar.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice place in the center of the town. Room is comfortable with good bedsand a good shower. Breakfast is great. No complaints at all for the room, place and comfort
Cons: There is nobody there at person. They help you on the telefoon to come in and get your room key, but it would be more nice if there was somebody in real life ...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about the hotel was nice. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were excellent and the breakfast was great!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was great- close to everything yet still quiet. Our room was lovely and very clean, the beds were very comfortable and the bathroom/shower area was also roomy. Overall, very nice.
Cons: There were a few flights of stairs to manuever with our luggage so this is something to consider if you have large or heavy luggage. We arrived after the check in window of 12:00 - 2:00 and after pushing the doorbell we were buzzed in out of the snow, but could not hear what was spoken over the intercom due to street noise and ended up waiting in the narrow hallway with all of our luggage for 45 minutes or more before someone came by and inquired if we needed help. Apparently they told us what room we had and which floor it was on over the intercom when they buzzed us inside but we could not hear it due to street noise so we felt a bit stranded. Be aware if you are arriving after check in that there maybe no one there to check you in - it helps if you are fluent in German- we were not. Also would have loved a water kettle to make tea.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, very clean and comfortable
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location and decor
Cons: Problem with the electricity and not emptying waste basket in bathroom

Pros: Everything functioned in a perfect way. Our room was very nice and the beds< very comfortable. Bathroom was spacy , breakfast was excellent and the breakfast rooms were just beautiful. We will definitely be back. Our trip was half business and half leisure. It was easy to reach all things there are to see direct from the hotel.
Cons: The heating did not function as well as all other things but it was OK.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely and comfortable room in a great location, but the staff was indifferent. When we left for brunch, I requested and was assured our bags would be brought down by noon for our 12:15 shuttle to the train station. When they still weren't down by 12:15, my elderly husband and I had to quickly slog our bags from the room to the shuttle and were almost late for our train. Also, their 20 Euro charge, each way, for the short 1.5 kilometer, 3 minute ride to the airport is beyond excessive, especially since a normal taxi would cost only 7 to 8 Euro!
