Cons: other good options for the same price
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was exceptional. Really made our stay so nice. We had fun with our complimentary drinks and tickets for the casino. We are not big gamblers but we had a blast. And we truly enjoyed our massages! Please tell the spa staff thank you from us.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The entire facility and the quality of service.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room was big and clean, great shower and bath and the bed was comfortable and massive. The staff at the front desk were really kind and helpful and the breakfast was nice.
Cons: The view was of a shipping yard. When ordering room service the staff couldn't understand my accent while speaking Spanish. I understand that it's difficult to communicate over the phone with someone who does not speak your language well but I could hear the other staff laughing and talking about me on the phone saying 'she does not speak Spanish' etc while I was trying my best.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Excelent location and facilities. Comfortable bed and pillows.
Cons: I was expecting fresh fruit juices for breakfast, unfortunately that was not the case.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful room, very friendly staff, nice breakfast.

6.8 Good
Pros: Staff was great and verry helpfull.
Cons: Room was verry small and noisy, just like a american motel, breakfast was little
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were really wonderful, especially Alicia - pleasant, charming and helpful. Lovely solo traveller room - single bed but bigger than your average single bed, with private bathroom. The cleanliness was superb and the room was cleaned and maintained on a daily basis. Laundry is done on site with proper washing powder - so came back smelling clean and fresh. Lots of chill out spaces.
Cons: The walls are a bit thin so you can often hear people in the neighbouring rooms. There was a large group staying at the time I was there that seemed to take over. A bit of an issue with the cost of the additional nights that I stayed that left a bit of a negative feeling.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This is a very good place to stay not far from the centre and the coast in Arica. Although the rooms are quite small there are a lot of nice communal areas. The staff were helpful and accommodating, including giving us an early breakfast one day when we were catching the early bus to Putre.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely clean with great facilities and staff.
Cons: Everything was great
8.0 Excellent
Cons: I guess some of their guest are such a loser, they dont allow me to cough and say they cant enjoy their breakfast, but I am sick and the most important is I am coughing in my freaking own room with the door closed.

Cons: Nada
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Loved the inside, tucked away from the busy streets. Cool little spot.
Cons: The beds were abit small (I am 6,2”) and yes the room was abit small, plus I was there for the surf so it is abit far especially if you want to walk. Taxis could rack up the bill. but- if you were going to arica for back packing it’s a great cosy little place.

Pros: Staff were lovely. The room was spacious and clean. It is exactly how it looks in the online pictures which is nice. The B&B is approximately 12 blocks to the historic center. There is a large grocery store 6 blocks away. We were there over Christmas when everything was closed so we purchased food and our hosts graciously let us use their kitchen.
Cons: Breakfast was fresh but basic. Instant coffee and no milk provided. We purchased our own and left it in the fridge in the common area.
6.3 Good

Cons: smelly room. Not clean. Cold. Check in and payment could be faster but no worries... Arica is not a great city so dont get too many expectations

Pros: My third time at Sunnydays I enjoy the hospitality of the owner Ross who is very knowledgeable and helpful to sort out the next step of your journey. It is a place to meet many International travellers and exchange your experiences. Lovely meeting place and close to the bus terminal and short walk to the local market and also the new shopping centres. Enjoying the walks to the fishing harbour.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: We showed up at 9 am and Ross sat us down to breakfast and then showed us to our room. We were expecting to leave our bags and wander the area but instead we were able to shower and grab a quick nap. The place is spacious, close to the bus terminal (8 minute walk), and a 15 minute walk to the Arica-Tacna train station if you choose to go to Peru by rail (which was quite easy and a nice alternative to bus/colectivo). Plus, Ross is a wealth of traveling knowledge for South America and always has great tips. We would definitely stay again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is delightful, like a home from home. The owner is so lovely and very caring and helpful. The beds were really comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need! Good location and easy to get around Arica
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It's a pitty that Arica is such an unpopular travel destination in winter. I wish I could have stayed much longer, especially in this lovely hostel run by very caring and nice owners. Facilities, service and breakfast were amazing.
Cons: Coming from the bus terminal, the area seemed a bit unsafe at first. But it turned out soon that it's just a normal residential neighbourhood. The shower seemed to be made for dwarfs.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: One of the best breakfeasts I've ever had. A really sweet couple is running the hostel. Big open common room for nice encounters with other travellers.
Cons: The knives in the kitchen weren't too sharp. I think is located near a school therefore it can get a little bit loud in the morning.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Ross is great! He is always very helpful and sincere. He tells you anything you need to know and is most knowledgeable about travelling Chile and Peru. When you walk in you are walking into their home and I love this. Guests have their very own kitchen and I made the effort to cook a big family meal for guests at the time. We had a lovely time!

Cons: Very basic. Breakfast didn't start until 7:00, not even coffee or hot water before. We needed to leave for an excursion at 7. Cons: Nothing
6.8 Good
Pros: Reception staff very helpful and friendly. They tried their hardest to get the internet to work in our room, but unfortunately without success. Also happy to arrange transport to and from the airport. Bed was huge and comfortable. It was a spacious modern apartment, and very reasonably priced.
Cons: Although the apartment was located close to a lot of restaurants, there was a lot of street noise - people talking loudly in the street until the early hours, cars going by playing loud music at all hours, then street cleaners started at 5am. The internet didn’t work in the room and we had to either go up to the restaurant or stand in the lobby to get any signal. It took at least 5 minutes to get the shower even lukewarm and the bath was tiny - a stand-alone shower would make more sense
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a wonderful hotel with friendly staff and excellent rooms and located in the heart of Arica. The breakfast was very good and it does and excellent cafe latte and a wonderfully fresh and yummy chocolate cake!! I highly recommend Apart Hotel Viscachani.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The apartment was perfectly clean, spatious. The king bed was really comfortable, the kitchen ustensiles were brand new. The bathroom is nice, hot shower.
Cons: The windows are not very I insulated to noise, so it can get a bit noisy at night, especially on Saturday nights. But nothing that makes you sleep bad. The bathtub is really small. But who cares, you're not going to have a bath when water is so scarce anyway!
5.8 Okay
Pros: a lot of space in apartment location in the city centre friendly and helpfull staff
Cons: staff does not speak english and there was no laundry (both declared by hotel as present) poor breakfast remote parking dirty floor in apartment

8.3 Excellent
Pros: WONDERFUL public spaces: terrace, bar/cafe, pools, personnel. Employees were very friendly and accommodating.
Cons: Rooms were small and for the price seemed “less than” everything. Very clean, nevertheless, and comfortable beds. Truthfully after the initial disappointment we did enjoy our visit.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beatiful View, confortable place. I enjoyed the 4 days in the hotel. The staff was very nice.
Cons: I would like to have more services, like spa o bicycles for rent
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location and setting of the hotel was excellent- pools and dining room were really nice. The rooms themselves were fine but not luxurious. I would stay again because I thought the public spaces were really nice and complimentary breakfast was good.
Cons: Rooms were clean, but small and not especially good workmanship went into the painting/decoration of the room. Sea view room was nice.

Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and a safe deposit box at the front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Close to the beach
Cons: Noisy
5.8 Okay
Pros: The hotel is close the beach, that is convenient. Breakfast is standard.
Cons: The bathroom was not clean. The personnel didn’t think with us. We we’re super early for checkin, but they where not flexible at all. There was a extra room upstairs where we could have changed our clothes, but they didn’t tell. Of course we had to leave our stuff behind at the reception to go to the beach. I asked for a security box at the reception for our valuables (because we went surfing) the receptionist said that there wasn’t any. But when we finally checked in our room, there was a welcome form that confirmed that there was a safety box at the reception. Also we had to wait for more than 20 min for our breakfast. We needed to ask before someone came with the food. We think the hotel is overpriced for the lack of service and bad cleaning
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was good, including fruit, yoghurt and scrambled egg. The hotel is in the nearness of various good restaurants, which we used for dinner.
Cons: The location was noisy during the week-end, because of early strong music on the occasion of a beach volley competence. However, we enjoyed to see a match.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: It’s a relatively new hotel, the staff is wonderful and the location great.
Cons: The rooms are a bit small, but everything else compensates it.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Sparkling clean place, lovely staff, almost on the beach front.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location is near the beach , small but new , clean .
Cons: breakfast it is not buffet
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very attending staff, comfy nice room, view 9n the beach, ocean;
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Comfort, immediate access to archaeology sites of Tiahuanaco, good meals, extremely friendly staff and owner (Rosario, who speaks English well).
8.8 Excellent
Pros: very nice clean room, quite modern and spacious. it was so nice to have a first proper power shower in a while. we had a nice ocean view from our room, didnt expect that. good location although far from centre of Arica, which we in fact didnt like at all, so being further from it was ideal for us. Instead we were just few meters from the beach, There are few restaurants nearby, maybe a bit overpriced. Avoid Waikiki - they tried to cheat us on drinks first and then on final bill. just for you to know - there is a train line very close but we didnt find this disturbing at all, 3 days of stay and maybe we have heard train 2-3 times and have seen it once - 1 carriage only.
Cons: unfortunately breakfast - very small, especially eggs. we stayed there over the weekend - earplugs are needed, seems like there is a party place quite close.
8.0 Excellent
Cons: The surroundings were a bit noisier than expected.

Pros: The easy access to the place and the friendliness of the staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very close to the beach, so good for summer vacation.
Cons: It's a bit far from the center, so will need taxi/bus to move around.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location and facilities
Cons: Late breakfast - difficult for business person
8.8 Excellent
Cons: Staff lacks basic knowledge about the area - couldn’t tell us about buses and also didn’t mention that water bottles were not free ... wanted to charge double the price for them and after some discussion let us pay as we would pay on the street for the water . Those are things that need to be told to guests . Otherwise everybody was really helpful and nice !
7.0 Good
Pros: The mattress is amazing!!! Good continental breakfast (buffet style).Very short distance to the beach.
Cons: The gym is very bad and limited as the machines are very few and not well maintained... The exercise (pulldown/peck deck) machine doesn't adjust to your height (made for short people), moves too much and definitely needs oil. There are only 2 light dumbbells and the ceiling is so low, I couldn't hop on the stepper machine without knocking my head at each step. The swimming pool was really cold and the Jacuzzi out of order:-( The relaxing massage...we give it a 5/10 as it was very average and lacked of strength unfortunately. Lots of noise outside during the day (electric saws) as there is ongoing work around the "gymnasium". The place is out of town in a very quiet residential area.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent place to stay and relax, even though not much to do around the hotel. The beach is near. Sauna and massage for discount, which were very good!
7.0 Good
Pros: The indoor pool is great.
Cons: The windows are quite thin and you can hear the street and people outside really well. The hotel neither the room were clean (we found sand in the bed). The breakfast was basic and they were 30 min late compared to the advertised time.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Price quality ratio Location
Cons: Breakfast could be better

7.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was ok and the location also if you don’t want to be in the center of the city, easy to call an Uber and get there for $2000 aprox. Next to it there is a pizza delivery and and big supermarket “líder” if you need to buy something
Cons: The staff was cold, almost not reaction. The floor in the room was dirty and full of dust, not for walk without shoes and there was no hot water (not the only ones, we hear other people asking for it).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, comfortable room. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, perfect for us. The location was not close to downtown, but it was quiet. It's easy to get around with the yellow colectivos and Uber. If you don't speak some Spanish, you might have difficulty.
Cons: We loved everything.
6.3 Good
Pros: The hotel is on a busy street but due to the construction you do not hear so much. Nice garden. Comfy beds.
Cons: In the morning the water was cold since all the people were showering in the building. We had a transistor build in the wall that was making really loud noises when we or our neighbors where using power. The wifi didn't reach our room also it says you can use it in all areas. Furthermore the day we arrived there was a lot of noise from the construction workers going on that are renovating some of the rooms. And for breakfest the milk was rotten.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff is very attentive to the customers, present to answer all our questions and to help us as best as possible! Great breakfast well provided. Location ok, less than 2km from the center, you can get there for 3 € by taxi.
6.3 Good
Pros: The rooms have air conditioning, should be a requirement for hot climates. The breakfast personnel and front desk clerks are excellent and professional. The WiFi signal is strong and speedy.
Cons: The beds were not comfortable, the TV in the room had problems with the remote, and the signal quality was awful.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Location, WiFi had good signal, the use of ramps to get to the upper floor rooms is very thoughtful for the luggage.
Cons: The bedsheets weren't fresh, and upon requesting change we were harassed by the maid. Fortunately, the rest of the personnel was very professional and attentive. The breakfast was very simple. During check-in , the room was not ready at the time reported by the hotel. The room didn't have A.C. but only a small fan.

5.5 Okay
Pros: Close to Arica’s city center, Clean bed
Cons: lack of privacy and noise coming from adjacent rooms due to natural ventilation holes in the wall separating rooms. More generally, it is a pretty blend hostel at the back of a garage, no ambiance, roof top would benefit from some personalisation

Pros: The hotel is about 12 km from Arica. Took us a 7 hour walk down the beach to get there - good walk but bad sunburn! Otherwise a 4000 pesos uber ride. The host is really hospitable and friendly, but cant speak a word of English.
Cons: Quite a hippy place, not the cleanest, but you get what you pay for.
7.5 Good
Pros: The hostel was located not far from the beach or from the airport. We didn't use the pool as we only stayed for one night, but it looked really nice. The owner was very nice to us.
Cons: We felt that the space could use some upkeep overall. The kitchen could be cleaner and more organized.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Super place! Positive stuff and dogs;))
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Juanjo tried very hard to create an upbeat and cozy environment. Despite the distance from the city center it was a fun place to stay, i would definitely stay here again when I visit Arica.
Cons: There is only one bike
5.8 Okay
Pros: great staff, not a vacation place. More of a community thing with volunteers. A special place if you like it
Cons: far away from everything. The place is in need of a refresh. Having said that, the staff was awesome and it's a unique place

Cons: Nothing.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice little hostel if looking for a quiet place to stay in Arica with a view. The rooftop patio makes this place! It was nice to be able to sit up there and have breakfast or drink a bottle of wine at night. The hosts were very friendly and nice to talk to. The hostel is located about a 10 minute walk from the main walking street with lots of shops and restaurants. We had a private room with an attached bathroom and the bed was comfy and the place quiet. Overall a good experience. The host called us a cab the night before for our early morning bus trip and he arrived perfectly on time.
Cons: You could only pay for the hostel in cash no credit card. Didn't always get hot water from the shower. You need to take a cab if going to the main bus station its about a 15 minute drive. We didn't walk around after dark as the nearby areas looked like they may be a bit sketchy at night and you have to walk up a hill to get to the hostel from the main area.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The way the owners treated us . Very friendly and helpful .
Cons: We have nothing to complaint about it .
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast- area and kitchen on the half-open roof were awesome and totally made up for the windows to the corridor instead of the outside! We spent so much time up there! Amazing view over the city.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic view from the breakfast terrasse on top of the hotel. The view is of most of Arica and in particular it's large harbor. Right across the street is the local museum of Chinchorro mummies, still located in the place they were found. Cold beers and sodas were available, and highly appreciated after the uphill trek home from the city centre to the hotel.
Cons: Parking conditions were difficult - narrow one-way streets.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location! We had a great double room with our own balcony, and there are great views from the breakfast terrace. Staff were very helpful and freindly
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Room very small
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The position was good.
Cons: Extremely disappointing: heavily overpriced for the carnival; room only had a window on the common passage, meaning no privacy at all, plus the tend provided wasn’t dark at all and all night you had light coming from hotel lights (that are always on); bathroom with no window is disgusting; sheets were dirty and they didn’t even change them the second day, as they had exactly the same stains; beds had wheels which were impossible to block, you couldn’t avoid having the bed moving all over the place every time you touched it; breakfast only served warm dishes on monday after the carnival, clearly they don’t care about mantaining the same service when more people are in the hotel. But the worse of all was that the window opening on the common passage didn’t even shut properly and could be opened from outside without any problem; i asked at the reception, they said they would have fixed it, the day after they said they were going to do it the same day and nothing ever happened. As a result i had to spend 3 overpriced day in a room keeping everything in locked luggage as anyone could get in my room; i understand problems, but lying to your face just show total disrispect for the customers, they just don’t care. With what they charge i expected much, much more, you can find much better in arica.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very good location and clean room. Very good mattress
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff. elevator.
Cons: hot rooms. No window.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great. Perfect location too as everything shops, restaurants, markets were just nearby
Cons: Sometimes water pressure in the shower slows down
6.3 Good
Pros: Breakfast was OK. We had fresh bread and coffee. Some cheese and baked goods.
Cons: The room was really small. Not quite the same as the image seen online. We asked for a room with 2 beds, we got it, however, there was barely space for the luggage or to walk around the room. The space from the entry door to the bed was enough to open the door. That space was the way to go to the washroom ... and about 1/2 meter in between the beds. It was really a very small room. Both beds were against opposite walls. I have been in cruise ship cabins bigger than that.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We are on 2 month trip through Argentina, Chile and Peru and this has been the highlight! We had the most amazing time on this cute little Island. Everything was perfect and the impressions and experiences we gathered we will never forget. On our 2 trips with the host, one of the few original Uros, we learned so much about the Uro culture and traditions. The room was beautiful and cozy, the food tasty, the view amazing and the hosts wonderful. We hope we can come back one day.
Cons: Nothing - we enjoyed everything and every second of our stay!
6.3 Good
Cons: The initial staff was a bit stoic and seemed to have an attitude. The young lady who worked nights was much more pleasant. The bed was hard and I didn't like that the only view is into the hotel.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff and their manager is awesome! I left my Alpaca cape and they did their extra miles to send it by package to Santiago. Thanks a lot guys!!! Keep it up.
Cons: Location is a bit further from the main crowd but if you are planning for a secluded vacation, this is the place!! Pool table was nice but a little maintenance will make it better. Kitchen was closed on Sunday so please be prepared if you arrive on Sunday.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location, great concept, very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms all have a view to the ocean which is perfect for watching the waves and birds
10.0 Excellent
Pros: People in Chile are friendly, but this hotel has the most friendly staff we have encountered during our stay. The hotel is not in the town, but by the beach with gorgeous views. It is literally a collection of boxes (you have to see to understand it), but it works surprisingly well, and the breakfast and dinner is very good. Would have loved to stay longer.
Cons: The hotel has excellent dinner (best Ceviche I had in Chile), BUT you need to know that a) you have to make your dinner selection in advance and book your time (there are not many spots). So we were a bit surprised when we came that the only spot left was at 20:30. Thankfully the amazing chef managed to squeeze us in at 19:00 so everything was good, but if you are arriving late, make sure to contact the hotel and book your time early. Unfortunately this was not communicated well :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this hotel was perfect. Small and private and located right on the beach, with great service and a beautiful design. Breakfast was incredible. By far the best option in Arica
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We had the most incredible stay at Hotel Apacheta to begin our honeymoon. The hotel is just a unique gem; its design is so elegant and sits perfectly with the coastline. From the moment you arrive you realise you are somewhere quite special. Each room has a view over the pacific and the hotel’s private natural rock pool. The four poster beds are comfy and romantic, and the wooden structure gives everything a modern yet warm and cosy feel. The dining area/terrace also looks out over the pacific. The first sunset we watched there with pisco sours was incredible. The food was also really great - a handmade breakfast with real attention to detail - from homemade jams, croissants to a fresh fruit juice and fruit salad which changes each day. You can pre-reserve to dine in the evening and the food is also brilliant ( the best we have had so far in Chile) - note there is no lunch service The staff were kind, informative and made sure we have a very special stay. A wonderful start to our honeymoon!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: THE BREAKFAST WAS LOVELY AND THE SPACES IN THE HOTEL ARE GORGEOUS!
Cons: THE LIGHTING IN OUR ROOM SEEMED TO BE SOMEWHAT ODD (A SHORT?). THE LAYOUT OF THE HOTEL (WHICH APPARENTLY FOLKS FROM THE STREET COULD ENTER HOTEL AT ANY MINUTE WE WERE TOLD) WAS A BIT ODD. BEAUTIFUL IN MANY WAYS BUT ODD.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: All rooms look directly over the beach. We slept with balcony door open. Was great to have fresh sea air and sound of the waves. Lovely view.
Cons: The safe was locked when we checked in. Someone came to reset in right away when we asked, but it didn’t work for us (could be operator error, but we’ve used lots of hotel safes).
