The design and how modern it was I was a bit disappointed that our toilet seat was broken and there was no soap in the dispenser for us to shower with. As we were only staying for one night I didnt raise this with the staff.
Location and leisure facilities
very clean staff very nice polite and helpful
it was a comfortable clean and friendly hotel didn't get my complementary paper
had enjoy, relaxing and very quiet of course, the t.v. wont let me subtitles on... cos am hard of hearing :/
The facilities are good. Function rooms, pool and bars are all nicely presented. There was a good atmosphere in the foyer and bars and the desk staff were polite and accommodating. We booked and paid extra for a family room to accommodate 2 x Adults and 2 X Children but on arrival the room had not been prepared with the extra beds. As it turned out My sons friend did not travel but there still wasnt room to swing a cat even tough only one of the two "put me up" bed was erected. The first bed was a rather pathetic collapsible affair with a one inch thick mattress that would not have supported a 5 year old. This was quickly changed. Our room was superficially clean but evidence of previous guest's debris were found under the bed and in the darker corners and the bathroom anti slip flooring was as grubby as the local municipal swimming pool. Also the function room bar had broken pumps which led to slow service and flat beer.
Modern feel of the building. Pricey
We spent one night here and it was a very impressive hotel. The rooms where perfect and the wet rooms were amazing and to top it off there was a bar and coffee shop downstairs. very nice stay If only it could have been a bit closer to the city centre.
very comfortable, excellecnt palce to stay because it had only just opened there were a few problems. Very poor service in pub resturant, not given rooms as booked and charged wrong amount when checking out. However all these problems were efficiently delt with by the hotel staff.
good allround, simple rooms, everything worked and was clean + near the rail station. one staff member was very irritated when i asked for a receipt after paying cash for an extra night and no internet access afterall, (although local library was geat for that!)
The service was very good and an excellent buffet breakfast was available. The location was also very convenient. It would have been better if there was a private hotel for customers as we had to park in the supermarket car park and there did seem to be a problem with gangs in the vacinity of the hotel. I think this was because it was a Friday night. We have previously visited on a sunday and it was very quiet.
The facilities were poor, needs updating Decor and poor quality food, ate out
friendly helpful receptionist Lift had been broken for a week and still not repaired - we were on the 3rd floor - fortunately we were only staying one night as we were in Hale for a wedding. There was no parking on site. Street parking was payable from 8.00am.
Great location and excellent value for money. Really nice breakfast and nice touch with the complimentary bottle of wine. Overall making for a very positive experience. Room was not as clean as it might be. Not a problem that the amenities were only basic, but carpet and beds looked like well overdue for replacement.
The location. having a beer outside in the sunshine during Happy Hour. Would benefit from revamped bathroom. Better information passing to night staff.(request for early breakfast was not relayed) This happenened during our last stay also.
Availability at a time of high demand and proximity to airport The room was in the middle of being re-decorated, smelled of paint, window was open to try and clear fumes and room had been pressed back into service to take advantage of high demand
My original room was dirty, overheated with stained marked furniture, but the v.v.hot pipes made it impossible to sit, never mind sleep in. The receptionist on duty was v.helpful and managed to get me another room, still hot, but because it had more air coming in I could sleep. The heat from the pipes running through the room was at a dangerous level. I would not have taken a child into those rooms. I had to sleep with only the duvet cover, no duvet. This wasn't during a spell of hot weather!
Quiet rooms with comfortable beds The local car park details in the hotel were out of date and dispite their bochure saying every room had a trouser press I could not find one in room 116
Staff were generally very polite and helpful. Good value for money I pre-paid £21 for my dinner via the internet but no-one at the hotel seemed to know what 'dinner' actually covered, in many cases the items on the menu does not amount to £21. I think it needs clarification on the internet.
We came to the hotel as we were attending a funeral the next day...so we didn't have much time to spend there, we had a comfortable room.,and enjoyed breakfast. Didn't like there was not enough toiletries in the bathroom...only enough for one, even then, one person couldn't shower with the size of bottle.
Quality of food en-suite to room was shower room only
the full breakfast, hot water from the shower, cleanliness of the rooms and comfort of the bed. ,the prices on the drinks.
staff were extremely helpful at all times and room facilities were of very high standard for the price charged for the room. food i.e evening meal was also very good (I did not have breakfast as I left for work at 6.30 am)Incidentally I have already re-booked the hotel for another 3 nights this week No complaints about anything
The breakfast was delicious and the restarante and staff made it a pleasant experience. The fact that the headboard wasn't safe and the tv had parts missing, and the remote had missing backs and missing tiles in the bathroom
Noisey residents in adjoining room, child crying all night
Friendly staff; excellent food.
We had an illness in family and hotel staff were very helpful. Also, we were going to a match and they gave good advice, particularly barman who was at 1968 European Cup Final !!
Good and pleasant location over the last 20 years have stayed at the Belfry many times but not so many recently as I did not need a room in a hotel in the area I was in room 411 which is a good room - but to get to it the lift one uses is an antique - if one does not properly shut the inner gate, then it works for no one. The stripy black & white carpet on the 4th floor is not pleasant to look at. The passageway from reception to the lift is unlike anything I have experienced elsewhere. It is narrow and one winds around quite a bit.
Very friendly staff Old fashioned rooms, small bathrooms
relaxed atmosphere The hotel & facilities are getting tired - worn carpets, shabby gymn, etc.
Hotel in desperate need of refurbishment - inside and out.
1 night was not long enough to say
Rooms where really nice, staff vey helpful. No aircon
When i payed my bill i was overcharged the lady in the reception was unable to give me a refund .I had to go to see the reception the next day for my refund .Staff need training on how to deal with customers problems
Convenient location in need of a makeover
Rooms were nice and in the evenings we more or less had the pool, jacuzzi and saunas to ourselves Queues at the reception which, with only one person there, you couldn't avoid even if it was just to get a second room key.
The food in the restaurant was of a pretty good standard and the breakfast had a good selection. The room was of a poor quality and looked extremely tired with stains on the carpets. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and gave me backache. There was peeling wallpaper in the public areas and a bucket in the hall way collecting dripping water. This does not warrant 3 stars.
Quiet, comfortable & clean room. Separate from bar. Delicious bar food! Very helpful staff.
Staff very pleasant and helpful. Breakfasts very good, very friendly cook. Only area of negative comment, a barman in the public house seemed to be unable to raise a smile, appeared pretty unhappy in his job.
Pleasant quiet room A little slow booking in as receptionist had gone elsewhere
Very clean and comfortable room, plenty of tea and coffee available. Music a bit loud in pub next door.
The most reeming factor of this hotel is the location. It is sufficiently close to Manchester airport wthout all the hustle & bustle. Accomodation was not very warm until the thermostat was located behind a chair. The restaurant was cold and the breakfast was not very inspiring. The evening meal was a disastor resulting in eating in the local balti house, which incidently was excellent.
Good English breakfast, well equipped and spacious room. Member of staff being dismissed at breakfast, poor continental breakfast.
the proximty to where i wanted to be & the great value for money
Good value for money. Pub menu varied and food of good quality, so we were happy to eat on site.
Clean, neat and quite modern Nothing
everything its the secound time ive stayed for 2 weddings i loved it will defo coming in the future.
Comfort and cleanliness Noisy room next to store Strange notion of advanced pay
very comfortable bed Not happy at all, was woken by my partner at 4am as his arm was covered in blood, we found small pieces of glass in the bed, reported it to reception who said they would talk to room service but did not offer any compensation
Good friendly Hotel
Hotel staff were very friendly and courteous. Overall, for the weekend, excellent value for money.
Cleanliness of room and grounds were excellent, always a winner with me. On the website breakfast was offered at £11.50. Upon arrival was informed that it could be purchased for £7.50, if that price had been offered online I would have bought it.
Refurbishment of room good. Accessibility of room. Twin room for myself and daughter (14) who was training for cycling racing next day at Manchester Velodrome. The walls were like cardboard and we heard everything that was going on in the next room all night (sex). Therefore no sleep. How should we complain?
I found the staff very pleasant, and the room comfortable The bar was never staffed, and it smelt of stale smoke, even though i was the only one in there.
It was absolutely chocolate box meets, four weddings and a funeral and the sumptuous luxury of the mini break in bridget jones' diary. The proximity to London Roads vibrant and cosmopolitan night life more than makes up for any absent room service.
the cottage was amazing. Totally unique experience, will definitely come back and will tell friends about it. Clean and warm with lots of interesting thingsto look at .
Spotless, more than one room, fresh flowers, comfortable bed, good tv Not a hotel but self catering rooms ina not a hotel but self catering accommodation in a pprivate house,no staff,no breakfast served, strong unpleasant smell, clutter, needs extra bedside table, poor parking facilities
a wonderful hideaway in Alderley Edge, but within walking distance of many restaurants and shopping in the surrounding area. The suite was simply beautiful and the owner (Ian) could not have been more helpful Will be booking again.
The uniqueness of the property and excellent service were both a refreshing change and a great experience.
everything was absolutly amazing and we wil definately be going back at some point. We wish we could live there permamently. Thank you very much!!
Lovely property - great if you are looking for something a bit different to a hotel. Fabulous location and very relaxing - highly recommended
Had a wonderful time at Wizard's Thatch. The suite was charming. Will stay longer next time.
The main thing about staying here is it is "different". It feels special and is a treat versus the usual nice hotel! Not really, although it has to be said that the rooms are quite small and cottage-like. The photographs give the impression of a much more spacious layout.
Excellent location. Ample Parking. friendly and helpful staff. My single bed had Ensuite. Had tea making capability. Breakfast was not even an additional option. But to be fair there were places around.
Ladies very friendly and helpful. Breakfast fan-tas-tic. Accommodation delightful..
Paid £53, expected like other Premier inn! 2 people stayed in single room with double bed which moved towards wall. No place for vanity, dampness and black colour on ceiling in the bathroom. Tall mirror was hiding.
Excellent choice of Breakfast and the close proximity to restaurants and bars etc. Free parking. Freezing cold room - we had to get an engineer to fix radiator and the bathroom was shabby and old fashioned.
The breakfast was good and the staff very pleasant. The bed was not very good at all.
Excellent location, Duty Manager Lee very helpful & Breakfast staff delightful with delicious hot cooked breakfast. Sadly the extractor fan in the rooom next door was on all night resulting in no sleep and the fan in our room also really loud
Good hospitality. Lack of family room for three people.
Cleanliness, Friendly Staff and Location Stayed in 'old' wing. Poor lighting made it impossible to use hairdryer. Room 29 toilet awkward to use due to positioning.
Cleanliness, friendly, efficient service, excellent breakfast
Staff very friendly and helpful, bar area dog friendly Hotel under refurbishment, workers started very early.
Good location one night stay over good comfy bed clean bathroom etc
Friendly staff None
Room was very nice and comfortable - the price was good. I would go again. No negative points
The bedroom and bathroom were very clean, spacious, and well lite. The hotel is only 5 min drive to the Manchester Airport. Dinner is available and was very good. The couple who manage the hotel are super. No.
credit card machine not working, staff unable to provide payment receipt as a result. There was a 1 hour wait had we decided to eat at the Hotel.
Friendlyness of the staff Lacking cleanliness in the room (carpet, bed side tables, extensive mould behind the shower door)
near to airport
As we came with friends for plane spotting, we appreciated location nearby of the MAN airport :-) Hotel staff was very friendly and helpfull. We had really good times in Pymgate Lodge :-)
Lots of little things. The cups on the hostess tray were badly chipped. There was no water glass in the bathroom. All of the glass doors were very dirty. At dinner my table cloth needed to be changed. There were no paper napkins at any meal. The only coffee was instant coffee. There were no sugarless cereals. Only white toast was available.
The location was ideal for an early morning flight from Manchester Airport and in close vicinity of a Beefeater pub for good value food. Illuminated "hotel name" sign located directly outside room window. Blackout curtuains required to block out the light pollution
Friendly staff A few language problems and tv didn't work and staff were unable to help.
The bar was great, good atmosphere and welcoming for families. The room was comfortable and the pool was a great size, although was shocked no signs to say what shouldn't happen as very small children were in jacuzzi area?? Wanted to hire robe as taking very small baby to pool- didn't do robes? Would've liked a shower cap in room as soaps dispensible wasn't anything else. Also copies of bar menu/ childrens menu in room would've been helpful, The reason for out trip was to take baby swimming for first time without taking to a public baths.
Leisure club, parking, food No sofa in my room as stated in the room info on internet,a group of your guests were swearing a lot where your table and chairs area is outside the pub.
hotel was very nice, comfy rooms, staff were friendly , food was good in bar and breakfast, swimming pool was warm and clean will use this chain of hotels again
Cooked breakfast Aircraft noise
Use of pool and gym Only shower/wc provided in room allocated. We were moved to a room with Bath/wc. TV/internet access nor working properly. Sound insulation between rooms was very poor.
food and service
The room was very comfortable and well presented. The hotel has all the facilities of a 4 star hotel at a budget price!
The hotel was very convenient, clean and breakfast was good The verve restaurant closed at 5:30 on the Sunday we arrived which was a bit inconvenient as we wanted to relax and eat in the hotel we did not want to have to go out of the hotel and drive somewhere to eat to eat and the bar snacks were not really what we wanted for the evening meal.
The leisure facilities the cracked sink in the bathroom
Allowed us our request of 12 noon check out None
Wilmslow Lodge itself was fine When we arrived the Lodge had no record of our internet booking. The guy on the desk was extremely helpful and although fully booked mananged to juggle the rooms to accommodate us. To say this was poor service from your administration is being polite. We had travelled up from Romsey Hampshire and my husband was considering having to return after attending our function. Apparently this is not the first time this has happened and I would be grateful for your comments
Bed was very comfortable Even when all the lights were on because of the light shades the room was still quite dark for reading lots of business documents
Spacious, well furnished room and large comfortable bed - friendly staff in hotel and attached pub. None
Very convenient to wilmslow, knutsford and mobberley, we were there my No, loved it, However there wer people like us having to come downstairs in our pyjamas for a cigarrette
Pub Coach and Four was great, room was clean and confortable, I felt at ease with nothing that really bothered me at this price At this price nothing stood out to complain about.
Excellent beer, nice atmospheric pub. Friendly staff. It problems with checking in system - staff handled it well though. Air con set to 28degC!
Pleasant and simple interior design in rooms. Good facilities. Nice family-friendly inn with nice atmosphere. some staff serving at the inn not that friendly.
Good location. Lodge is clean and well appointed. Staff were very friendlyand helpful. Did not eat in restaurant but it looked very inviting.
Stayed before-restaurant is excellent.Lovely building,just upgrading rooms.Love the place,definitely returning(again)
The hotel staff were excellent, welcoming and friendly and for a night out in Alderley Edge, its location is perfect. The room, despite being nicely decorated and pretty well equipped, was very small and really only suitable for one person.
Fabulous location, gorgeous room, luxury bathrobes provided, excellent freshly cooked breakfast, helpful, friendly staff, quiet and peaceful ambience throughout hotel. Although quality toiletries, only bare minimum provided - no shower cap, hair conditioner or body lotion provided.
That all the members of staff were very friendly when we arrived at the hotel. That we had to keep the fan on throughout the night in our room as it was to warm in the room, and we had bad headaches in the morning.
The breakfast was great!
beautiful garden, close to village with good restaurants, excellent service small room. no air conditioning. musty smell in room
Staff - helpful, courteous, efficient Restaurant - absolutely outstanding, the best meal I have ever had (and I've eaten in some world class restaurants) Temperature of room: it was very warm. I am from a subtropical climate, so if I think it's warm, it is. There was only a small window, poorly located, and the room received most of the day's sunlight.
