Pros: Michael and Ann are very welcome hosts. The rooms are so clean and comfortable. We had plentiful and very tasty homemade breakfast every morning in the beautiful dining room with garden view. We like fresh scones and fruit omelette so much. It’s easy access to Galway city center by 10 minutes drive. We’re so happy there.
Cons: My room is a little small as we have a big and a small case, but it should be enough if you have only one luggage.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely lodge in a good location outside of Galway. Very comfortable and clean. Michael and Ann were wonderful hosts - very welcoming and helpful. Helped direct us to the ferry for the Aran Islands and advised us when to leave to make sure we were there on time. It was seamless. The breakfasts were delicious with homemade scones in the bread basket each morning. Highly recommend.

Pros: The breakfast was fantastic and there was a range of options that you could order. The room and the facilities were great and the area very peaceful. The shower had great water pressure. My hosts could not have been more pleasant. I very much enjoyed my conversations with them. Parking was easy to deal with. The location is about a 7-minute walk to the start of central Oranmore.

Pros: Michael and Ann are WONDERFUL hosts. They are both so friendly and helpful with recommendations for the local town of Oranhill and Galway. Our bed was quite comfortable and the shower temperature and water pressure were fantastic. Our rooms were cleaned every day and very relaxing to come back to after a long day of traveling and exploring. The breakfast is above and beyond and absolutely delicious. I cannot recommend this B&B highly enough. We can't wait to come back!!
Cons: It is all hardwood floors so you can hear the other guests walking around in the AM which can be a bit noisy.
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Nothing. Brilliant value
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Off all the places we stayed at during our 16 day Irish trip, this was our favorite bed and breakfast. Here we ate the best breakfast of any of the places we stayed. The scones are easily six stars. Ann and Michael were our favorite hosts. The location was easy to navigate to, the property was lovely, both inside and outside. The room was well appointed, with items that none of the other bed and breakfast we stayed in provided. The WiFi was excellent. Everything was clean. Ann and Michael were lovely hosts, answering all the questions tourists have. Michael even provided tech support.
Cons: The only way to improve our stay would have been if we had taken even more scones with us when we left. Unfortunately the most of the scones didn’t survive the breakfast table.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners were very welcoming and friendly. The room was very comfortable. The breakfast was great with a variety of choices. We are very satisfied.

We arrived late and were informed that the 9am slot had been taken but our host kindly made an exception for our party.

Pros: Service was outstanding. Very clean. Comfortable.
Cons: No dislikes
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very kind and helpful. They assisted with information and maps, and the car park staff were courteous and helpful. Being steps from Eyre Square, the hotel was close enough for access to things but distant enough to be quiet and comfortable. There is a wealth of incredible antiques in this hotel, but they are curiously and sometimes a bit haphazardly located, as if a relative down-sized and someone needed to find a place for them! But they are lovely, and might provide you with a bit of a treasure-hunt to find them!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Courteous staff. Comfortable room and beds.
Cons: Bar staff were not attentive
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! John the inn keeper was amazing

10.0 Excellent

Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Although the street it is on is not particularly salubrious, the hotel itself is old-world luxury, Our room was wonderful - spacious and clean, with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast and dinner were both excellent, and all the staff really friendly and helpful. It is only a short walk to the top of the main street.
Cons: The car park is hard to find - and VERY tight to get into, although they have a dedicated porter on hand to help with this. Although its location was mentioned on my acknowledgement email, this information could have been repeated, (preferably in bold and red!) on the one closer to our actual stay. Value for money was not great, compared to our similar hotel in Cork, but this might be to do with Galway prices.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Ambiance of main floor. Excellent bell, restaurant and bar staff.
Cons: Only real issue was finding parking despite information provided.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, convenient, great restaurant and room was cozy.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a stunning hotel in a beautiful location. It was more than I was expecting and worth every extra cent!
Cons: The weather. But I can’t blame the hotel for that.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Luxury, comfort, friendliness, beauty. Just a couple words that come to mind about this majestic place. Best place we stayed during our entire Ireland tour and HIGHLY recommend it to everyone.
1.0 Poor
Pros: There is so much to love about the Glenlo Abbey - the property is beautiful. The structure & design is really lovely. The bellman & the concierge are dressed in formal Irish/hotel attire - wonderful detail. The people who work at the Abbey are supremely kind. The breakfast is superb - truly superb. The views are spectacular. The rooms are spacious & lovely (we had a view of the golf course & the water behind it).
Cons: During our stay, the hotel was undergoing extensive & VERY LOUD construction. That construction was taking place on the other side of the wall of our room. Think jackhammer noise directly on the other side of your room. We took it in stride initially & went down to the beautiful sitting room where the fireplace was lit & we could order a beer. In the sitting room, several men were "installing a speaker" which required removal of a good portion of the ceiling - wires, boards, ladders & a LOT of noise intermittently throughout the time we spent there. Again, we took it in stride & enjoyed our Carlsbergs. We read & ignored the noise considering it would be temporary & if it became too much, we could just go back to the room to get away from the noise. Not the case - when we had reached our noise threshold there, we tried to go back to the room. The construction noise had gotten louder. (I have video) At that point, we asked the staff. The front desk said the construction would end at 6pm. I asked how early it would start the next morning (we were incredibly tired & needed the rest desperately). They said it wouldn't begin any earlier than 10am and assured me they were "sorting it out". Such good news-we could sleep in. So we waited it out in the sitting room - luckily the speaker got fully installed & the room was back in order after about 90 or so minutes of work & noise downstairs. After 6:30pm, the workers on the other side of our room were done for the day. We enjoyed dinner in the cellar restaurant that night. Good food, service & atmosphere. That night we set our alarms for a late morning (as late as possible to still enjoy the breakfast). Sure enough, 7:20am came around & the work began. LOUD. Jackhammer level with a combination of a T-Rex approaching our room. We couldn't leave the hotel fast enough. The staff comped our evening meal.

Pros: Large rooms, wonderful view from the room, beautiful gardens.
9.2 Excellent

Pros: The Hostel was everything I had hoped for and more. I think it was one of my best hostel experiences in Ireland. The hostel is just a 2-minute walk from the train/bus station. They have lift access, so no problem for heavy bags. The place was spick and span, with friendly staff and great amenities. The 6-bed dorm room was spacious, with a desk and a fairly big ensuite shower & toilet. Hot water was available all day long. The sheets and blanket were clean. The best part - the had a USB charging point so no hassle with plugs. The complimentary breakfast was very good, with quite a large spread. It also included fresh fruit, peanut butter and yoghurt among other things. The city centre was just a 5-minute walk and the pier is about 10 minutes. I'd surely stay here again if I'm ever in Galway!

Pros: The hostel had well equipped kitchen facilities. The lounge area was comfortably furnished, WiFi was available and the place was secure. The dorm bunk beds had curtains around each bed for privacy which was greatly appreciated when it turned out I was the only female in a 6 bed dorm room with 5 guys.
Cons: It would have been nice to have a few regular height chairs/table available for eating in addition to the high tables and chairs.
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I´m glad we picked this hostel for our first visit of Galway. The guys at the reception were very helpful, recommending parking and beaches. There was enough space in the room, all tidy and comfy. I love when bed has all gadgets I need - plugs, light and curtain :) Basic breakfast with few vegan options. Even though the place was big, it still felt secured and safe. Location was really convenient, 10min walk to the busy centre but still quiet at night.

Pros: A great little B&B for a good price in a good location. The breakfast was wonderful and the owners are so friendly and gracious.
Cons: The only issue was that we had one key for the room even though there were three of us, but I expect that is common for a B&B like this one. Still, I would stay there again!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I have travelled a lot over the years and stayed in many hotels and B&Bs in many different countries and I have to say Balcony House in Galway has to be the best B&B I have ever stayed in! Teresa the owner was a wonderful woman, welcoming, friendly and boy, does she keep a beautiful, clean, comfortable establishment. The décor and embellishments are classy and tasteful throughout all the public areas of the house. Our beds were comfy, the room was spacious, and so was the immaculately clean bathroom. The breakfast was amazing value and huge! I had a great Irish breakfast every morning cooked to perfection, but the woman bakes and serves an array of delicious cakes every morning as well! The location of the house is about 6 minutes walk into the town and has free onsite parking. I highly recommend this B&B and if I'm ever in Galway again I will definitely book with Teresa again. Many thanks for making our stay so memorable
Cons: Nothing whatsoever!

Pros: Great breakfast, large and convenient room, really nice staff, sitting room with free coffee machine, generally feels like an hotel
Cons: The bathroom was great, but the water stream in the shower is really low, and there is an uncomfortable faucet with 2 different taps for hot and cold, which is a thing in Ireland

Pros: There was no breakfast available!
Cons: Would have appreciated a breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staying in the Hotel during Storm Lorenzo was a good alternative, because of our comfortabel, clean and warm room, where we could watch TV and take a warm bath. We had a wonderful Breakfest and a comfortable and clean room. Everything was perfect!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Our room was spacious enough to allow relaxation and to do stretches on the carpeted floor. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was a good size. Breakfast was really good, with choice of cereals and yoghurts, hot breakfast and a variety of cakes. The location is lovely and convenient to Galway city and surrounds if you have a car.
Cons: We could hear other guests talking and closing doors as they came in at night and when going downstairs in the morning. Lights were shining from a house behind (seemingly attached to Atlantic Lodge) and we could see them shining through the curtains all night and another light from a place next door came very brightly through the bathroom window.
9.6 Excellent
Cons: Great breakfast! Great Quality stay
7.1 Good
Pros: The room was spotless, airy and spacious. Bed linen white, crisp, ironed pillowcases and sheets. Large and shiny white bathroom with sufficient toiletries. Sms message was sent how to get into the house in the event the owners were unavailable and the directions how to enter the house were straightforward. Parking free and available in front of the house or on the street.
Cons: Complete lack of personal touch. Not sure if this is the usual practice, or one off case. The Sms advised us how to retrieve the key as the owners might be out for our arrival, but at the end the proprietors had not showed up at all. It would have been nice to be able to have some human contact at the place, even if to ask for some local recommendations. An old fashioned map of Galway would also be a welcomed addition. Very sugary breakfast, sugar laden cakes and pastries in large selection, cereals, pancakes, Tesco brand yoghurts. No fresh fruit, tinned fruit only.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We were happy with quiet location and the view from our room. It was clean, friendly and communication was most efficient.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was spacious with full amenities. Breakfast was outstanding - the cook is attentive and extremely capable.

7.0 Good
Pros: Clean and convenient for city centre.
Cons: Misleading information, described as B & B accommodation, only after booking in are you informed that breakfast is self service next door but one and you will be charged 8 euros per person. The room was small and cramped, double bed with a single bed wedged beside it. The bathroom was tiny any person larger than average would not fit in it.

Pros: The most friendly pet friendly B&B we have experienced so far. Our room, in the back of the house was ideal for us travelling with a dog. The owners are outstandingly kind, helpful and very knowledgeable about where to go in the very touristy Galway. We really enjoyed the places Mary advised us to go to. Breakfast is really good and served in a very friendly way. Finally the Inishmore house is perfectly located. whether you want to go to the beach :5 minutes walking distance or downtown 10 minutes walking distance. We will certainly come back when we are in Ireland in Spring.
Cons: Not applicable
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Host was terrific. We arrived early and jet lagged and she let us check in hours early as they had just finished cleaning the room. Breakfasts were amazing! Incredible selection and cooked to order. Nice location a 10 minute walk from the city center and equal distance to the beach and promenade. Loved Galway! Would definitely go back.

Pros: Marie was an exceptional host. Inviting, warm and helpful. The B&B was cozy and clean and just had a wonderful vibe. Would stay here again.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Outstanding selections for breakfast ! I ordered poached eggs and avocado on toast. Very good. My room was at an outhouse behind the premises. Quiet and comfortable.
Cons: The kettle is too small and placed at awkward corner.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location, walking distance to everything downtown. Very nice room. Beautiful house and breakfast room. Free off street parking. Good restaurant recommendations.
Cons: Our room had loose bathroom faucets and a noisy sink drain that should be attended to. Our coverlet was heavy and a little lumper than usual, but these were minor glitches in an otherwise comfortable experience.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Very "B&B" feel compared to some of the newer, maybe larger, maybe purpose-built "B&Bs" in Ireland these days that feel more like hotels. Inishmore House has more charm than those. Wonderful, welcoming people. Readily accommodated our arrival outside of the check-in window. Clean. Great breakfast. Helped us get off to the airport on time in the morning.
Cons: Found bed and pillows to be a little sad. That's really the only complaint. Price was higher than some other places on our trip but seemed in line with the Galway area close to city center.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
