When you stay at Suenos Guesthouse in Southend-on-Sea, you'll be on the beach, within a 5-minute drive of Southend Pier and Adventure Island. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Whole place exceptionally clean, the outside space so well kept. The room and linen spotless. Luv luv the front terrace and honesty Bar. Free parking right outside. Lovely lady owner The view across the bay idyllic Free birthday drink
Cons: A mile from town up a steep hill at the end, felt sure it said it was closer. Our small double was exactly that the smallest room we have ever stayed in we came home with scratches and bruises from the bed tv and table no room for big people like us. The breakfast wasn’t for us we both left it, thick bacon with loads of fat n weird taste n hard sausages never ate next day meaning another meal to buy. Being told to go to bed is jokes whilst silently waiting for Uber Eats outside! As the owner said she’s not used to People like Us........!!!!!This sums up our stay
Pros: Owners were friendly & welcoming the little touches of the homemade shortbread & the complimentary drink were lovely.
Pros: Everything about our stay was lovely will definitely be returning !
Pros: Wonderful service, great location, very good breakfast
Pros: Lovely view great room and large bathroom loved the roll top bath. Also balcony was a bonus as that wasn't mentioned in room details. Breakfast excellent and Neil and Theresa were very attentive hosts.
Pros: Very pleasant. Good greeting , everything explained. Good location with sea views. Parking good for a sea front location. Not far, 5 mins by regular bus to town centre. Good en suite immaculate details. Ultra clean. Good choice for breakfast. For someone ending a long day through business I could not ask for more. Easy to find, didn't even use a sat nav. Great stay.
Cons: Nothing was problematic.
Pros: Absolutely excellent in every respect! Terese and Neil are superb hosts and we cannot recommend Suenos highly enough.
Pros: This guesthouse deserves its 5-star rating and you'd have to travel a considerable distance to find another. Very comfortable bedroom with all the expected trimmings (and some unexpected including ground coffee in the fridge with fresh milk! Brilliant! Not everyone prefers tea in the morning and UHT milk) Breakfast was first rate. Covered all tastes using locally sourced meat, fish and free range eggs. Plenty of alternatives for those who prefer not to eat meat including a superb home-cooked granola! The honesty bar was very useful - beautiful wines, soft drinks and everything else in between.
Pros: The room was clean and well equipped with iron, hairdryer, extra quilt, radio and fan. Neil and Theresa was welcoming and informative of local entertainment and eateries. We will definitely be returning.
Cons: There was nothing we did not like.
Pros: Neil and Teresa were so lovely! The layout and quality and cleanliness of the place is great. Gorgeous, stylish and refreshing, lovely location.
When you stay at Pebbles Guest House in Southend-on-Sea, you'll be on the beach, within a 5-minute drive of Southend Pier and Adventure Island. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Staff were frendly and helpful food was very good and excellent value for money room was very clean and well furnish
Pros: Clean and comfortable. Very friendly staff. Breakfast was lovely
Cons: Bathroom was very small
Pros: Wonderful room overlooking the sea. Beautiful furnishing, jelly babies and a big shower!
Pros: Bed was very comfortable. Staff were accommodating and friendly.
Pros: It was a lovely room, very quiet neighbourhood. Bathroom was clean and tidy also. The jelly babies, fresh water, coffee etc were a really nice gesture too. Would definitely recommend this guest house. Well done all the staff and management we came into contact with, very friendly.
Cons: It was a very rainy, windy weekend, which made the walk into town unpleasant. Nothing we could do about that so made the best of the situation.
Pros: Everything. Was recommended by a friend and must say everything was fantastic. Location, staff breakfast, all fantastic.
Cons: Absolutely nothing to complain about
Pros: Lovely room, well appointed and with fantastic sea views. Wide range of breakfast foods including some home-made. Friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: The only minor downside to this excellent establishment is the on street parking. We were lucky enough to find a gap in a side street just 2 minutes walk away but friends had to go a bit further.
Located in Billericay, Downham Hall is in a rural location, a 3-minute drive from Hanningfield Reservoir and 6 minutes from Norsey Woods. Featured amenities include multilingual staff and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Loved it being a family run business very personal touch.....
Cons: Shower didn’t work.....hey ho these things happen !!!
Pros: I loved the breakfast area and ‘honesty bar’. The hotel exceeded my expectations.
Pros: A good selection of cereals, juice fruit, yogurt, toast croissant and gluten free options available. The house is off the road and very peaceful. Home from home
Cons: Nothing comes to mind
Pros: The setting The rooms It was beautiful
Pros: Everything..so so so pretty! We only stayed one night but we will most definitely be back. The gardens the room everything was superb. The orangery bar and dining room were so bright and welcoming especially while watching to sun set over the countryside. There are so many little touches such as the tree swing, little seating areas and the lake which really do add the charm of the hotel. If you were planning a wedding then this would be a perfect location. We stayed in the bridal suite room and the sunrise this morning over the country side was beautiful...we didn’t want to leave. Really helpful friendly staff, super clean and relaxing. We will be seeing you again soon
Pros: What is there not to like here?! Absolutely beautiful place, gorgeously quiet location and every detail was perfect. Beautiful decor, some modern additions, whilst maintaining the traditional charm of the wonderful house and some lovely little touches too. Staff were friendly and extremely helpful, the bed was soooo comfy and that rain shower - oh I could have stayed in there forever, it was so therapeutic! I loved that crystal glasses were provided rather than plastic cups, a very classy place. All in all, a wonderful stay and one I'd be happy to repeat again and again. And to make it even better..............lavendar pillow spray would be a lovely and welcoming touch (only because I ran out yesterday!) ;-)
Cons: Just one little thing..............would have enjoyed less fatty bacon for breakfast. Cooked beautifully and tasted delicious, however more like streaky than back bacon (sorry, I never like to write anything negative!).
Pros: Everything was on offer for breakfast, excellent choice.
Cons: A towel heater in bathroom would have been helpful although it wasn't a real problem.
Pros: lovely hotel kept immaculately, and very comfy , food very good except paying extra for fried breakfast
Pros: The location and property was beautiful, only downside really was that the room had a broken toilet seat and toilet roll holder. Very uncomfortable trying to use the loo. Staff were great. I was surprised that I had booked with breakfast packages but that only included pastry like items/cereal etc and I would have to pay extra for anything cooked. I would not have booked brekkie if I knew this in advance.
With a stay at Gleneagles Guesthouse in Southend-on-Sea, you'll be within a 10-minute walk of Southend Pier and Adventure Island. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: Lovely location, great welcome,Parking easy with discount via guest house
Cons: Only thing was we had a top floor room very lovely room and view but a bit of a climb up the 54 steps
Cons: Room very small, no veiw from windows
Cons: Some water in the room would have been a bonus.
Pros: Warm friendly welcome on arrival, comfortable spotless room spacious and cosy, lovely view and period property, great breakfast with friendly host and staff. Couldn't fault it really.
Pros: Full english breakfast was great, especially the sausage (really tasty and cooked to perfection). The owners were lovely, friendly and helpful. Location was good. Modernized recently to a good standard.
Cons: More choice at breakfast to be honest, if you didn't want a full english then the only apparent options were a partial english breakfast. A veggie breakfast was offered but it wasn't on the menu and I'm not sure if it wouldn't have been exactly the same but without the meat. Not sure it was a hundred £ per night hotel in mid Oct tbh, although furnished nicely the room and en suite was very compact.

We were getting an early flight and they offered to leave out breakfast before we left. Overall, a gorgeous B&B and would, without any hesitation, book again.

Pros: location and shopping
Pros: We liked the location in the centre of town and the proximity to the station car park where the hotel has a discounted 24 hour rate. As usual with Wetherspoons the room was very well appointed, bed was comfy and shower very good. Generous tea, coffee and biscuits.
Cons: It is a city centre pub so was very busy when we arrived and as we had to wait until check in time we ended up standing at the bar. Some of the tables in the bar needed cleaning and some if the seat upholstery needed replacing - typical in a pub of this nature, but we still enjoyed our breakfast.
Pros: Being a regular traveller I stay in lots of hotels in the UK this hotel ticks all the boxes
Cons: Only one bad member of staff, this morning in the bar when I ordered my breakfast! And I think maybe he was the manager, looking disheveled and uninterested he let the team down and stopped me giving a 10 SHAME
Pros: The Last Post Hotel is directly opposite Southend Central station. We were pleasantly surprised about the quality of this Weatherspoons Hotel. It had good reviews so we booked the Hotel, we were not disappointed at all. The staff were very polite and helpful when booking us in and showed us to our room. Good sized bedroom, which over looked the fire escape and courtyard but hey that was not an issue. The room was neat and tidy very modern styled. Good sized bathroom and very modern. Great walk in shower room and "large" towels that was a touch. We would stay here again and we highly recommend this Hotel. Keep up the great work. 10/10 for us.
Cons: Nothing at all.
Pros: The rooms are very large and very clean.
Cons: The entrance it’s a bit confusing

Cons: The shower facilities were complicated and needed instructions displayed. There is constant noise on flooring above and outside. They need to make it clearer if your package states dinner included what courses you can have for dinner before you order, we ordered all courses.assuming it was included.
Pros: It had a lovely view of the ocean and the staff were very accommodating. I would highly recommend.
Cons: We had to bedrooms, and one bathroom had some renovations and it was lovely!! I would suggest having all bathrooms like the newly refurbished one.

Pros: Cleanliness, comfort and friendly staff.
Cons: Getting wet going over to the annexe!

Pros: Lovely place
Cons: No complaints really
Pros: So happy from everything
Cons: So happy from everything
Pros: The room came with cereal and milk which was a nice thing that wasn’t mentioned and the lady was lovely showed us a map of places we could go and see and eat very welcoming. A fan was supplied to the room which helped tremendously.

Pros: Nice bed and breakfast is...OK
Cons: Bathroom is a bit tired. No plug in bath and water in sink has a low water flow. TV has a habit of returning to the hotel menu after an hour or so, therefore cutting off the TV programme being watched.Generally everything is OK, Whether OK is worth the amount they charge maybe not.
Cons: The only one negative thing I have to say is there could have been plug sockets by the beds.

Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful, from the reception team to the housekeeping, The rooms were clean and loved the small note from one of the housekeepers saying ''Enjoy your stay''. Those are good memories that every client will love and remember.
Cons: One bartender can't remember his name but has no hospitality attitude, very unfriendly and unhelpful. There was smoking odour in the room, very strong and not nice at all. I just wish the rooms were renovated, especially the toilet and the corridors just to match up with the stuff friendliness. NB: Some stuff need more training on how to deliver hospitality values, live up to the pillars and to treat all clients the same despite their colour.
