It was fairly clean. However needed some attention in the bathroom. Shower falling off the wall.
Rooms weren't ready at 7pm
Awful experience, rooms awful and window doesn’t shut. Not at all relaxing.
Old fashioned rooms, found hair on the floor. Window doesn’t even shut - on a busy road very noisy..
Friendly staff. Good location for exploring North Somerset. Good efficient P&R just up the road for easy visit to Bath. Our room was refurbished, had a comfortable large bed and a decent ensuite. It had secondary glazing. It was clean with white linen and plenty of towels. There was on site free parking behind the hotel. The rooms are above quite an interesting pub.
The entrance to the hotel car park was a bit disconcerting. We were worried. Likewise the hotel entrance was in need of some serious TLC and seemed to be the 'smokers' hangout. Check in is in the bar. We were on the second floor - no lift and narrow stairs made it a bit difficult for us but thankfully we were not too close to the bar. It would have been nice to have a chair in the room. There were toiletries but no cup in the bathroom nor a container or tray for the sachets of coffee, sugar etc. I was a little surprised that our obviously damp bedding, due to the high temperatures, was not changed. I had to unmake the bed and try and dry it off. As said before in previous reviews, breakfast was a bit of an ad hoc affair. We went down on day one just after 9am and were told breakfast was finished and there did seem to be little available. A series of empty cereal dispensers and some mini boxes of rice crispies. However we did get a freshly cooked full English and DIY beverages complete with a kettle and plastic milk bottle.. On day two and three we were down at 8am and strangely the experience was the same. We had to ask for everything-not just food items but also bowls, cutlery etc. There was a long wait for a cooked breakfast. It appears that the hotel is being gradually refurbished and the breakfast room is still waiting. The breakfast experience really let the place down- friendly but totally unacceptable for a hotel.
Location was good.
It was the evening when it was mega hot - window didn't open in the room - I did ask if someone could sort it - but no joy or offer to move to another room where I could open a window. Next morning boiler had packed up so no hot water for shower etc. Breakfast was not available when I went down (because of the boiler issue) - poor quality instant coffee, no bowls or cutlery available for cereals, asked for veggie breakfast but had to leave to get to an apppointment as it was clear I was not going to get anything soon given the other issues.
