Pros: The charm .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A wonderful spot to stay. Clean rooms and includes a wonderful breakfast. The host was pleasant and helpful.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Amazing breakfast and so neat to sit around with other guests and chat. So laid back and pleasant. Kristen is wonderful! So accommodating. The name comes from the theme of the place...Teddy bears everywhere!!
Cons: Just a little taken aback that there are no room keys. Felt uncomfortable leaving anything of value in the room since anyone could get in and how would we prove it or whom could we accuse if anything was missing. Amazing that they have not had a problem with this.... but it does tell me that if there have not been problems, the kind of people that stay here are pretty wonderful!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was comfortable and the bath extremely clean. The hostess was personable and very friendly. It is right on Main Street, which is very convenient.
Cons: We could hear traffic at night and the house needs updating in decor. It is a bit hit or miss in most rooms, particularly the main rooms.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great! Liked the company.
Cons: No desk in my room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beds are super comfortable! Our host, Kristen, made breakfast in the morning, and it was so delicious! Loved the cookies and coffee available all day. Cute shops right across the street, and it's near the highway.
Cons: Nothing to not like if you want quiet and clean accommodations in a good location

10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is a lovely B&B and we had a great stay. The Inn was clean and the rooms were comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and courteous. Breakfast was outstanding. I will definitely stay here again when I’m passing thru. Highly recommend.
Cons: Nothing. It was exceptional.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Is a beautiful and so countable place. It’s perfect place to celebrate special events. I definitely recommended.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent owners, staff, room and breakfast. Upon arrival, our room seemed noisy from street traffic. When we mentioned this to Dan, he gladly changed our room to a more quiet room in the back of the inn. Very accommodating to our needs.
Cons: mirror in bathroom not great
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice room, excellent location, great breakfast, and very friendly owners and staff. Added bonus of coffee and donuts on the porch in the morning.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Quirky different comfortable bed
Cons: Not a lot to do
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a delightful stay at the Inn Victoria!
6.3 Good
Cons: I had paid and reserved a room that had been confirmed by the property, only to find out an hour later that it had been given away to another traveler and I had no options to contest the decision, other than being refunded — and be left at 7:00PM in the evening trying to find another place to spend the night; so I had no option but to accept the room they assigned me. Also, I’m very social and love people around me, but I also like my privacy and the quiet moments I enjoy when i travel. This was not an option around breakfast. I had to listen to someone playing flamenco guitar right next to me at the table when i was not really in the mood for it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room is spotless. Every amenity you could possibly need. We walked in to the smell of coffee cake in the oven. Penny and Dan are so hospitable and they know the area so well - great recommendations for anything you want to do.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great theme, great owners, great breakfast! Like being at home, but no cleaning!
Cons: Nothing.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Byll is an excellent cook. I particularly recommend the "Ohio breakfast". He, Cheryll, and their dog, Hannah, all made us feel very welcome. While the bed was comfortable and large enough even for my six-foot plus height, it was it bit softer than I like. The bedroom has large windows and provides an excellent view of the valley below. It is basically the same view from the dinning room, admitting here that view is better for being larger. 13 Hills was an excellent choice for my wife and I; central to the places we wanted to go.
Cons: The only problem we had was navigating the hills at night, but one might argue that that was a self-imposed problem. That said, it is not a location I would recommend to a meek or timid driver, or one whose vehicle is not in good condition. Also, while Hannah, the dog, for the most part was very well behaved, she is very friendly and a bit nosey. The access to the guest accommodations has a "Hannah-proof" "toddler gate" which it is recommended you use. To be fair at this point, Byll and Cheryll did offer to restrict Hannah access to the public areas while we were there. Possibly, I should mention at this point, our stay was in late summer. Staying in mid-winter or what New Englanders call mud season, adds a whole new dimension.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our hosts were very friendly, the breakfasts were delicious, and the dog , Hannah was a super star!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The property was beautiful...quiet, tranquil, peaceful, scenic. A very relaxing escape from city life.
Cons: Room was a bit too small. The bathroom was private but had to leave the room to enter it. Very little privacy if looking for a romantic get away.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous views, breakfast was amazing. We loved the hot tub
Cons: Have nothing bad to say about the property. Not really much to do around the area. Great location if you like to hike
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view was great. The fall would be amazing here. The bed was so comfy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Byll and Cheryl were gracious hosts making us feel welcome from the start! Their home is unique and comfortable with amazing views! Byll loves to cook and it shows in his delicious breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had four incredible days at Byll and Cheryl's place. Their earth-sheltered house is a beauty, looking out on a series of enchanting green hills. At night there is utter silence, utter peace. Very special experience. The house was meticulously clean and our room was excellent - they even put an extra little bed there for our baby daughter. We loved cooking in the kitchen, which was very well stocked and spacious. Byll and Cheryl are terrific hosts and the most warmhearted of people. We hope to come back one day!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The views were amazing and the area is so peaceful. Byll was very helpful and his breakfasts are to die for!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a comfortable place to stay in rural New Hampshire for a solo traveler or a couple. The hosts are gracious; the bed is good; the breakfast is cooked to order, and there is a wonderful veranda with a gorgeous view.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved everything from the location, to the breakfast, to the hosts Byll and Cheryl and their very well behaved dog Hannah. To the amentities like the hot tub (available for use 24/7) to the amazing views of the 13 hills and the fact the bad was king size and sooo comfy with Netflix, Hulu, etc, in our room! While we were their we went in the hot tub at 7am on the morning we were checking out and we ended up seeing a total of 9 to 10 Deer in the field below. Plus we had an Owl swoop right over our car on the way to their property!! Nature is def abundant here if you are lucky.
Cons: There was nothing I can think of that I did not like.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The most stunningly spectacular location, remote, green mountains, views, authentic New England buildings/barn, excellent cook in the kitchen, welcoming and accomodating staff
Cons: Nothing not to be liked. If anything, the room could do with a bit of refurbishment, there is a fine line between authenticity/shabby chique and worn/tired. The pool is small but charming, the tenniscourt and available raquets/balls not up to standard.

Pros: The breakfasts were great. The evening meals were good.
Cons: No TV in room. More direct information on the brochure to inform guests what days of the week certain places were open in town as we arrived on a Tuesday and left on a Friday in September. Unfortunately the weather was raining or dizzily for most of our stay. We were unable to take advantage of some of the items offered.

Cons: There was nothing negative we can say. Our stay was comfortable and pleasurable.

Cons: The register in our room rattled loudly when the air was on
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is our happy place! BEAUTIFUL
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I loved the location, the "old charm" of the place. The restaurant and better choice for breakfast would be good, but over all I liked my stay and would come back there again.
Cons: The restaurant could use some "lift".
8.8 Excellent
Cons: The drinks were really short on what anyone would consider a decent "pour"
10.0 Excellent
Pros: everything
Cons: hotter coffee and hot water for tea
8.3 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great restaurant, gorgeous grounds, comfy room. There are a pond, a brook and woods to the back, and flowers everywhere. The decor of the inn is very Vermont (think wood, mountains, maple syrup) but tasteful, not tacky. The complementary breakfast was delish. Our entire stay was lovely! On another occasion, the friend who booked the inn for us brought me to the masseur here . Also fabulous.
Cons: No complaints at all!

7.5 Good
Pros: room was clean and the staff was nice and helpful!
Cons: wish they had a jacuzzi !
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Room smelled musty.
4.3 Okay
Pros: Personnel were pleasant and professional.
Cons: The Saturday of the "big storm" was very unpleasant. Breakfast was terrible as the real bacon was gone by Friday and the "kitchen staff" (one person) predicted there would be no bacon because of all the little boys raiding the buffet on Friday morning. The turkey sausages were like shoe leather. There was no availability of extra food for the day when all of us were snowed in and it required a walk to the gas station on the other side of the highway for lunch and dinner. I was not warned that service for AT&T cell phones was not available and the attempts to get wireless service on my phone were unsuccessful in spite of staff assistance. This was the week-end of the playoff football games and staff told me that "corporate" required them to keep the radio on in the background while the TV was showing the game. I will never stay at a Holiday Inn again. Adding insult to injury, when I checked out I learned that my rate went from $99 on the first night to $174 a night for the subsequent nights.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Front desk person , Tim, was fantastic !!!! Very fast and efficient check in.
Cons: Need an elevator in both sides of building. Carrying heavy bags up and down stairs on arthritic knees was painful.

Pros: The service an staff was on point room was clean
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Neat, Clean, and comfortable
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to interstate. Had a pool. Coffee in rooms and decent breakfast.
Cons: Bed was a little hard. No hot tub. Pool towels were very small. Price was a little steep for the amendaties but was the only decent hotel around the area.
6.3 Good
Pros: Breakfast was average with hot and cold options. Few fresh options.
Cons: Remote location from town - few transportation options if you don't have your own car.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location was just where I needed it. The pool was clean and enjoyable. Pizza and salad at the restaurant / bar was delicious, and service was good. Overall appearance of the hotel and rooms was good.
Cons: My room key stopped working twice, and I had to keep going down to the front desk to get one that worked. There was only one laundry machine (so it was under strong demand) and at first it didn't take my money correctly. A service man came promptly and fixed it, but ideally there wouldn't be a problem in the first place, especially since there was a line waiting to use it.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were awesome!
Cons: Breakfast was less than desirable, the Gym equipment was non functioning
9.5 Excellent
Cons: Breakfast needs to be earlier for ski season
10.0 Excellent

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent and the Inn Keepers very friendly
Cons: Antique tub was a bit challenging
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The innkeeper Bob is so personable and friendly. I was traveling along and we had coffee together each evening. He is terrific and his wife Jan - makes the best blueberry pancakes I have ever had!
5.5 Okay
Cons: We did not like how the room description stated a hot tub and there was a regular tub with jets. The breakfast was disappointing because you did not get to chose anything and the items they made were unusual. My opinion is if you are going to offer a standard breakfast with no choices then it should be standard and or basic. these dishes were over the top and strange.
5.5 Okay
Cons: The bed was terrible and uncomfortable. The sheets were too big and slid around. The room was extremely small and I can't imagine being a larger person and having to stay in this room. The bathroom is very dated. I felt the innkeeper was a bit standoffish and put me on the spot when we arrived so my first impression was not a good one.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfasts! Comfortable room!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: First time staying at a bed and breakfast and it was wonderful! The room had so much character and the fireplace made it romantic. Breakfast was delicious and the location is perfect, we were able to walk around to get dinner and some drinks. We will definitely be back!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I meet Robert which is the owner, very friendly person and the lady in the morning was awesome as well, the rooms are gorgeous and very clean.
7.5 Good
Pros: food was great, location was in the center of town
Cons: the listing didn't say the ceilings were low. we were the only ones there and it was a little awkward, the emergency escape method was a folding ladder outside in the snow
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Real pillows!! Cozy cozy cozy and wonderful. Just like always through Vermont would be like.. love the location and all the homey touches. Very very very nice
6.0 Good
Pros: The food was good, and the rooms were nice, but my mom went to church and returned past the check-out time and they wouldn't let her use a restroom.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: staff was nice, pet friendly, clean, and it had a a newer nice bathroom (shower) in our room with plenty of hot water
Cons: could use better pillows, and mattress was a little harder than I like
5.8 Okay
Pros: While the home was old, everything was pretty clean. Our hosts were pleasant, but certainly did not go out of their way to welcome us.
Cons: Typically a bed and breakfast includes a cooked breakfast, but we didn't even have toast offered. There were cereals, yogurts, fruit (honeydew, grapes and oranges) and a cinnamon roll. No eggs, pancakes, waffles, omelets, any typical bed and breakfast foods. The hosts were also very quiet and didn't really interact much or offer advice at all.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Sheldon was very friendly and loved the breakfast area with the view of the back yard and flowers.
Cons: Waze GPS did not have the Inn as a location. When I put 698 for the street address it located a house about 500' before the INN. Went there in the day time to check in early since I wouldn't be arriving to stay till 9PM. Would have been difficult finding the Inn in the dark.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Quiet, peaceful, historic. Beautiful gardens. Owner was very accommodating.
7.0 Good
Pros: Excellent French Toast!
Cons: Old rooms haven’t been updated in a long time. Bathroom in slight disrepair. Only 1 electrical outlet for our entire room.

Pros: The entire staff was warm and welcoming. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with a lot of the comforts of home. We would definitely stay here again.
Cons: I didn't win a million dollars in the powerball that Saturday night. :)
6.3 Good
Pros: The place was on the main drag so it was very convienent
Cons: I upgraded on booking.com to get a queen bed. I got a full size bed. I didn’t fight it so really nothing against owners. When leaving owners wife never asked how our stay was. Never addressed our stay at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I've stayed here before and have always had a very nice experience. The restaurant and location add to the experience.
5.8 Okay
Pros: I liked that there was a continental breakfast included in the price. I liked the location, though a little noisy.
Cons: I didn't like that I found a bug in one of my towels. The bathroom shower was extremely small as was the room. I found the bed uncomfortable and had to go searching for a comfortable pillow.
6.8 Good
Pros: Breakfast was good although it could have had a little more variety of food. The staff was excellent. Very helpful and courteous.
Cons: window air conditioner was noisy. A television would have been nice and an ice machine in every floor would have been convenient.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great had everything one could want. Location was in the center of town near everything.
Cons: Actually everything was just the way my wife and I like it, perfect.
6.0 Good
Pros: Location was great, in middle of a perfect New England village, with interesting shops, beautiful old houses, and several restaurant options. The inn has great public spaces and a beautiful garden. Innkeeper was warm and welcoming.
Cons: bathroom left much to be desired - like a shelf or cabinet to place toiletries on; like real glasses rather than flimsy plastic cups; like a bar of soap for the shower (!!!); like a decent light. Room at front of hotel had nice view but much traffic noise
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stayed two nights in Feb for skiing at Okemo with 17 year old daughter. Very “homey” feel. Staff was extremely courteous and friendly. Rooms were clean and warm. Nice quilts. Bathrooms were clean. Had dinner each night in the dining room and food was great. Homemade cornbread and scones. Internet access was fine. Will definitely stay there again when in the area.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is in the center of a little town. You can walk to little shops and restaurants. The inn is very homey and comfortable. The owner is very friendly and helpful.
Cons: The tavern closes at 9:00. We would have liked it to stay open at least until 10:00 on Friday and Saturday
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: No tv

Pros: The room was newly renovated and clean and comfortable. They allow dogs and there's plenty of space o walk them. The a/c worked well. It's a short drive or walk to Putney.
Cons: This isn't an inn, as its name implies; it's a motel. And charmless.

Pros: Nice room. I was on the 2nd floor and had beautiful vaulted ceilings. Very comfortable bed. Very close to Landmark College.
Cons: There was nothing not to like. Great value and extremely clean.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect spot if visiting schools, very much like just being at home.
Cons: When you sit outside at Club VT, which is the pub on the property, the view is of the highway.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: That they opened up again
Cons: AC old unit
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Comfortable bed and Relatively quiet except for occasional train whistle.
Cons: Manager was a bit curt at first. This should e rated as a 2 star hotel, not a 3 star. The maids were SO noisy from 9:00 am, banging each door as they entered & exited. And then knocked loudly on mine at 10:50 am. Check out wasnt until 11:00! Never aga
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location, and breakfast was provided
Cons: We left room late on the first day and signaled to them when we left, but they did not make up the room after the first night.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was great. Didn't have breakfast.
Cons: The outside condition of the Inn needs to be cleaned up.
7.0 Good
Pros: Great location. Absolutely adequate accommodations. Not fancy but very serviceable.
Cons: The breakfasts weren't that terrific.
6.8 Good
Pros: It was close to where we had to go. People were friendly. amble parking. The breakfast was good, except eggs.
Cons: WiFi wasn't working, I had to call desk to get it working. The Drain in tub was plugged. The large first step going into room was too high. Air Cond/ heater should have been on thermosate.

Cons: Breakfast was not very good. I was expecting a little more.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The ambiance and friendliness and helpfulness of the staff - delightful!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Unique quiet property
Cons: Room lacked character compared to the inn itself. No pics or decorations. Also no info about the place/area in room.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We spent a memorable weekend at the facility. The friendliness and hospitality in all sections was outstanding. The main house which dates back to the early 1900s provides a wonderful comforted upper class experience of that era. Looking forward to go again.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Well-maintained. Hardly any guests, so quiet. The hotel seems to be more of a weekend and party venue rather than a B&B.
Cons: In the room, no glasses, no telephone, not enough electric plugs, lighting or TV channels (only 1) and uncomfortable beds. The hotel had too short check-in (3-5pm), no staff afterwards and a tiny poor breakfast. The town of Springfield has no real restaurant or attractions.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room and bed were comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We love exploring the hotel and frowns soaking in all of the history. We grew up in the area and always heard about the Hartness House from our parents attending events but never really knew anything about the history. Thank you!
Cons: There was nothing we didn’t like.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This big old house is an architectural gem. The bed was comfortable, the room very clean. The breakfast was spartan, but adequate. The lone staff member was very pleasant and efficient.
Cons: The room could have used a desk and desk light. The lighting was not conducive to doing any work. I brought my own shampoo and conditioner, which was good, because there did not seem to be any and I did not want to bother the lone staff member, who had already gone home
9.5 Excellent
Pros: They promised a continental breakfast . . . but laid out much more. Nice. The historic mansion was delightful. Our room was really nice. The desk staff were very helpful.
Cons: The only nice rooms at the inn seemed to be in the historic mansion itself. That's where we stayed. The units attached to the back of the mansion had a tacky motel feel. A Motel 6 would be a better choice.
7.5 Good
Pros: Beautiful bed & breakfast and the breakfast was good!
Cons: The website said there was a tavern but, it was not available.
6.3 Good
Pros: Nice inn
Cons: Lack of upkeep on outside grounds

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, from the beautiful architecture, the warm reception from the welcoming, friendly staff, down to the unique views, is beyond exceptional. Each room has a different design with unique quirks. My stay was in the Cloud room, a wondetful personal balcony overlooking the pool and gardens with the jacuzzi was such a treat. Delicious breakfast every morning and the friendliest little dog Henry made it feel more like home. Bob and Steve run an amazing inn and I know that I'll definitely be back.
Cons: My stay wasn't longer.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful house with beautiful surroundings, very friendly hosts, and the house is full of antique, interesting furniture and decoration. The breakfast is nice. The bed was comfortable. We wish we could have stayed longer.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners were very nice. Loved the secluded location. Grafton was a very quiet and much needed "get away" from it all spot. My husband actually survived not having a TV for the weekend! Phelps Barn for dinner was excellent.
Cons: The barn suite was very cute and cozy. Only downfall was no comfortable seating to enjoy the fireplace. Just two antique wooden chairs and one fabric chair. The bed also had a worm (dead) in it when we turned down the sheets, but we recovered :) We (okay I) got past that because everything else was so enjoyable.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly service and beautiful surroundings
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: We enjoyed the location, in the middle of the forest, not far from the small village
Cons: We did not like anything else except the location. We paid for a room with three beds. When we arrived, the beds were very dirty, with dead and live bugs inside. At the end, we had to spend the two nights in another room with only two beds for three people. Very uncomfortable, and cold. The breakfast was nothing special, and served just from 8 to 9 am, too early since we wanted to have some rest and relax in the morning. The landlord was impolite and nervous. In summary, very bad experience, I really don't suggest this place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: everyone was very friendly and accommodating. The house was really interesting, old with interesting features and knicknacks, clean and convenient.
Cons: It took us many attempts to find them it could be better signed.
3.0 Mediocre
Cons: The owner would not give us a key to our “suite” he said “oh it is safe around here.”
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Mark was a charming and gracious host. He made us feel welcomed the minute we entered the Inn. The property is unusually quiet surrounded by beautiful wooded areas, hiking paths, and a pond. The Inn has a spacious outside deck with plenty of seating for enjoying the scenic views in addition to the comfortable living space inside.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place was beyond our expectation, and the host was excellent... Mark and his wife were very friendly and always available to help at the house as well as providing adventure suggestions. The location of the house is on top of the hill - the view is priceless, and the atmosphere around the house very relaxing.... will be going there again.
Cons: I really can't find anything negative to say. It was our first time at this location, but we have done B&B or rented out a house for the weekend before, and this place was excellent. You have to keep in mind what expectations you will have, i.e. ultimate luxury with a variety of amenities? not this place.... but absolutely recommend it
