Friendly staff, a ten minute (uphill) walk to the town centre is easy. Hotel has a large free carpark and a very excellent breakfast. The larger rooms lokking towards the mountains are worth the extra cost
Great value, awesome breakfasts included. very accomodating hotel staff. Fantastic all around.
Hotel Bavaria was absolutely wonderful. the beds were comfortable, the staff was friendly, the food was out of this world, great location, free breakfast.. I can't say enough good things about this hotel. no
just so so. it's about 10 minutes' walk from railway station, and it located at the cross of 3 roads, so it too noisy.
Yes, as in most German hotels, there is only one small glass (in bathroom) and only one waste basket... usually in bathroom.
Very nice and friendly staff, room and service were very comfortable.
Very welcoming, excellent room and location. Helpful host, easy access into centre of village on foot - great views.
Charming hotel. We were offered a nicer room, when we decided we needed a larger bed. Very accomodating staff and great food.
The breakfast Resturant closed in the evenings. no tea/ coffee making facilities in romm
Great hotel, location, food, staff. Needs better e-mail access.
Wonderful romantic experience with good facilities and excellent customer service.
The hotel is very near the town but yet still quiet. The staff were most helpful and the steam and sauna area very clean.
friendly helpful staff, nice rooms Restaurant was pricy for the quality; the buffet was not good at all
Location is very good and short walk to downtown and very nice structure/facilities. People are very helpful and very good value for the money. Too small bathroom.
Breakfast was great. Location fantastic. Small but cute rooms and the bathrooms were renovated and very tidy and clean. No air conditioning. It was a super hot day and we couldn't sleep because it was so hot.
breakfast the windo of room was at front of parking, the room was smelled of cigarette
This 4 stars hotel is really good. the price i got was same as the one i got in paris, but much more worth than that. the breakfast is amazing, a lot of choices. room is big and clean, also you will get a balcony. btw, when u live there, you can get a card with which you can choose any bus in the area for free, just show it to the driver. the wire of the telly in my room got some problems, i could hear some weird sounds. the staffs attitude were fine but just acceptable. the location is ok abt 10mins to station, but it's up the hill```
The hotel was quiet. The staff were friendly, but not always helpful. For example, we had dinner in the hotel restaurant on the first night, the staff were slow to serve us, and when it came to desert, they told us we would not be able to have desert because the kitchen was closed. Why not ask us if we wished to have desert, before they closed the kitchen.
Location, view of alps, breakfast One receptionist was very aggrivated when asked anything, and she was not helpful nor did she give us correct information on how to get to various sites. She was having a bad day everytime we saw her! Not a good person to greet customers. Everyone else was really nice!
The hotel had a nice restaurant and a lovely terrace which enjoyed the late afternoon sun. The hotel was not in the town centre. It was located at the top of a steep hill so did not make it easy to walk into the town.
I was given a room, intentionally or unintentionally, facing a parking lot. One SUV just parked less than a meter from the window and blocked all views from the window. It was a resort hotel and that was not a very pleasant way to do it, especially the guests were not particularly crowd and my reservation had been made quite in advance.
We were quite surprised to see that our hotel was located just steps away from the train station and visitors center in Berchestgaden and with free parking it was very convenient and made it easy to drive up the hills to the center of the business district. Our balcony overlooked the river yet was very private. Nice breakfast in the dining room was included. I booked a quad room but we actually were given two seperate rooms for the same price - both had French doors to a balcony! Very nice. If you stay here be sure to check in before 5PM as the front dest staff leaves about that time. Access to the pool and spa is rather limited and requires climbing long flights of stairs. And be sure to locate the light switched in the hallway so you can turn on the lights when you leave your room. Conservation of energy is of prime concern all over Europe and takes some getting used to for Americans.
Very well situated, in the center of the town. Excellent to make trips in the neiberhood.
the hotel has no elevator and no staff to help us with the luggage. The staff and the owner were not friendly and helpful at all. They were not willing to answer questions (travel information) at all. Very bad impression.
perfect location right across from the train station, good sized room and incredibly comfy bed and pillows. It was a charming room and hotel, the breakfast was good too! one of the staff members was rude, the old man at the front desk is a total jerk. We forgot our backpack and key in the restaurant and he basically ignored us, we had to wait for another person to see us and let us in the building.
Location is wonderful, free parking and great breakfast included. charged for wi-fi, no kleenex.
Good location for us: across from the train and bus station and close to the Konigsee. Friendly and helpful staff and a good breakfast included in the price. Good parking and a good view from our room.
It was nice and quiet and the room was clean. Staff was friendly. We did not like that the staff was relatively unavailable and there is a serious mosquito infestation that did not allow us to open our windows at night. If we did, we did not sleep due to fighting off bug bites. Will only recommend this hotel for summer months
Friendly and helpful staff; good, quiet location about 15 minutes walk from the town centre with a very nice outlook. No
Family Plenk is very friendly and helpful. Our room was large and clean. Location is quiet. Very nice.
The breakfat was very good, the room was big, nice and cosy. And there was very quiet and peacefull. The pool was relaxing. The bed was very hard. Not good for my back.
The room was really good. The breakfest was awesome. And people there were helpful. Fixed checkin time. For example, on Sunday, only 4pm ~ 7pm is allowed to check in. And the service staff didn't live in the hotel. So after 7pm, the front door would be closed, and have no way to get inside.
Excellent location in a magnificent location on the edge of the city. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the facilities clean and extremely comfortable. To add to this we enjoyed a breakfast close to the best that we have ever had in Europe, even at expensive hotels. We have travelled extensively throughout the World, and consider this hotel the best value for money of any that we have ever stayed at. Many thanks to the family Plenke, our hosts at the Alpenhotel Weiherbach.
Hotels staff & owners were great. Friendly and service oriented. English OK. Room very clean and well kept. Property s very nice quiet location near Berchetsgaden and Salzburg. Near small town for restaurants. Mountain roads could be challenge in winter.
location/excellent service/fabulous breakfast
Beautiful location, hotel was very comfortable I would have liked a bar in the hotel
good breakfast, comfortable and clean rooms and good value for money. we were not given any information about the hotel facilities, there were no coffee making facilities in the room.the hotel had a sauna and a swimming pool which nobody told us about.
The views were really nice from the balcony and the hotel looks also very nice from exterior and good interior too... It was too hot in the room, hotel is not air conditioned and we had to ask for a fan which was not very comfortable and noisy
The hotel is very comfortable, friendly staff, excellent food and very good spa and swimming pool facilities
Lovely little hotel a short walk from the Bahnhof. Perfect spa experience for a solo traveler. Staff were extremely friendly and always helpful. The hotel's decor was a very pretty modern alpine design. The spa and pool were very nice. My room had a lovely balcony looking out onto the hillside. I thoroughly enjoyed this hotel and plan to return.
Very pleasant staff. The lounge with the fireplace is charming, as is the dining room. It is tucked in behind a gas station, but it is not a big issue.
The hotel was well appointed. The room was large and very clean. The view from the balcony was lovely. The staff was less than expected of this class hotel. With the exception of the clerk Marcus, who was on duty when we arrived on Sunday. He was extremely helpful and answered all our questions as we checked in. The rest of the staff was indifferent and cool. On 2 occasions while I was talking to the desk personnel I was told, "one moment please", while they talked to another guest and answered their questions. If your non german speaking I would not recommend this hotel, if you are, I would recommend it.
The bus cards allowed us to travel all around the are without having to think about transportation. Staff was focused on making us comfortable. We travel a lot and this hotel was one of the very best we have stayed in. Nothing
Friendly staff water in the swimming pool was quite cold
Our stay at the Alpenhotel Fischer was very relaxing and confortable. The staff are very friendly and extremly helpful nothing was too much trouble for them. The hotel itself is very well maintained, our room was very confortable, clean and the furniture and bathroom fixtures looked new. The food at this hotel is very good and reasonably priced. The breakfast selection is fanatastic, there was something for everyone. The spa and fitness facilities are very good. I had a massage there during my stay and the treatments and staff were excellant. Overall i cannot rate this hotel any higher. We have returned home relaxed, well fed and totally mesmerised by the town and surrounding areas of Berchtesgaden. The only small thing that i did not like was that the swimming pool was not heated.
location, very nice view, comfortable
Very clean; good breakfast included; outstanding hotel restaurant; no lift, but hotel provided someone to help with our suitcases; would stay here again; would recommend to others.
It was very clean, and it was also fairly inexpensive but the quality of the accomodation was reflected in the price. I had hoped for a view over the town but we couldn't see anything from our room.
fantastic position in the centre of old town area , bavarian decor, views of the mountains and lovely food
Very nice room, comfortable and clean, and for a very reasonable price. Extensive breakfast and superb location. No internet connection was a bit of a problem, but otherwise I liked all other things.
Staff were really helpful and spoke english which was great. Breakfast was excellent - lots of choice. Swimming pool and sauna were a bonus. Rooms were well maintained.
We really enjoyed the everything at the hotel. The enjoyed the food at the restaurant so much that we had dinner there 2 nights in a row. The view we had from our room was great for pics and everyone was so helpful.
The hotel is set right in the heart of Berchtesgaden. It is a charming, older hotel and you really get the flavour of Bavaria which you certainly wouldn't get in a more contemporary setting. On site restaurant serves very good traditional German food. The breakfast is substantial with cereals, breads, breakfast cakes, meats, cheese, eggs, fruit, coffee and tea. The service is elegant with linen table cloths and white china. The breakfast room provides a breathtaking view of the Alps. We were very satisfied with the accommodations and would definitely stay here again.
Friendly and professional manner in which the hotel was run.
view from the balcony of our room.
Friendly staff, clean & homely feel No soaps were given out, Brechtesgaden card which is normally given out to all tourists was missed out as well - I wonder why?
Affordable guesthouse within easy reach of mountains and lake.
The hotel is located on the edge of Berchtesgaden town. A train track runs right in front of the hotel (between the road and the hotel itself), but the trains are not too frequent and did not disturb us.
Close to the train station. Affordable. Very clean. Quiet. Friendly staff. We liked that you can buy water, drinks, beer using the honour system.
Simple guesthouse not that far from Berchtesgaden bahnhof/busbahnhof.Rather big room with balcony and private shower/toilet.Breakfast with cereal , cut ham/cheese and boiled egg.All guests are provided with Guestcard with which enable you to get free rides on any buses around Berchtesgaden. No shampoo nor soap provided .No elevator so be prepared to haul your luggage up & down the stairs.
Wonderful hotel & fantastic value. Friendly staff and good buffet breakfast. My single room was very clean and bed was comfy. Only 10 minute walk up to the beautiful old town with it's shops, restaurants and bars. I had a fab meal at Chinese restaurant Heng Heng. Their is a short cut walk to the old town between the train station and post office that the owner will tell you about. This hotel is excellent value. No wifi/internet access. No tea/cofee making facilities. Owner 'rented' me a kettle for 2 Euro a night. Difficult to see when dark even though my sat Nav took me to the exact spot! A lit up hotel sign by the road is required. If driving from town train station will be on right. Then drive exactly 200 metres and on the right you will see a 1 metre high white reflective X sign warning of the presence of train tracks. This is the exact spot where you turn into hotel just across the tracks which are still in use. Coming from the west the hotel will be 200 metres before the train station on the left. Again look for the X sign and turn in. So, one could say X marks the spot!
Nice and clea room with all necessary facilites, very helpful and sweet family staff, close to the central station and the town The only way to reach the hotel is crossing a road without traffic lights in front of the hotel, which I think is a bit dangerous.
I like location of the Gastehaus Achental, place for parking, easy access from highway Salzburg-Munich, but on the first place very friendly staff none
Friendly staff. A personal welcome by the proprietor on arrival. Cleanliness of establishment throughout. It is a small, attractive family-run guest house in lower Berchtesgaden on main road. Excellent value.
nice place, near train station and easy to go to the lake, nice breakfast and room a little bit difficult to find, and it will be good if it has an elevator
Close (~500m) from the train/bus station. Good continental breakfast Room somewhat cramped, rustic furnishing.
clean and tidy Our room was separated from the main block. There are no checkout service in the early morning. Staff is only avaliable after 7:30 am. I don't known why they didn't charge my visa in advance, I need to pay in cash while checkout. Also there was no hot water for coffee or tea in the room.
Lovely hotel, room clean and comfy. Got pass to use local bus service for free which was excellent. The guest house had beers and soft drinks that you could buy for a very reasonable price.
Very nice staff. Nice hotel and location. None
This was a lovely traditional hotel just on the outskirts of the town but within easy walking distance. Very reasonably priced.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Drinks were very cheap and readily available. The room was quite nice (just as expected for a Bavarian Guesthouse). Right by a busy road. Not loud, just that the sidewalk was across the street.
Warm hospitality Parking extremely cramped, must run across busy highway for any pedestrian access to nearby city
Big noise.Hotel is situated near noisy road and railway.Going to the hotel area you have to cross the very dangerous railway crossing.
Friendly staff and a great price for a nice place near the train station. No dislikes
The owner is really nice. The hotel build just by a railway. Every time a train came by, the driver need to sound the horn, even at 2300!! it's really special and....you know what I mean....
The Hotel was exceptionally clean. Bedrooms had Balconies and Fridges (no tea/coffee facilities, we take our own). There is a lift (unusual in Hotel of this size) Their Wellness Area was superb and restaurant was good with daily specials. Breakfast choice was good although no hot dishes. Location for Eagles Nest, Salzburg etc was excellent. We would stay there again, staff were friendly and helpful. At the Breakfast table a daily Hotel newsletter awaited you with Weather updates and ideas for the day. Towells could have been a little newer but that is being picky.Tea & Coffee facilities in the room would have been great but this is not standard anywhere in Europe anyway.
This is one of the very nicest hotels I have stayed in in Europe. The staff were polite & helpful, the food great (champagne with breakfast on Sunday!) the facilities outstanding (indoor pool, sauna, steamroom, spa, etc.) & the location was divine: the alpine scenery was straight out of "Heidi". We'd go back in a flash! I would recommend the suite, if you are staying for a week or more. Not one thing was unsatisfactory.
quiet location, restaurant convenient, spa amenities available small, cramped room; no comfortable seating area
The staff was friendly and helpful and location was near to everything we wanted to do. For the services we used the price could have been cheaper especially during the off-season.
Everyone was friendly and helpful. Even though I was the only solo traveler, the staff was warm and welcoming. The food was good. There was also a nice breakfast included with the room.
the location and facilities
Excellent service from friendly staff.
This was an extremely comfortable hotel and the staff were extremely helpful. Great location with easy access to the nearby tourist attractions. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area. Nothing - it was all great.
Peace and quite food good very comfortable and very clean, staff were very pleasant and situated near to most things. It would have been nice have the facilitate to make a drink in room (hot) tea or coffee.
Great location, great non smoking breakfast room, wonderful breakfasts, good dinners, good staff. The owners come by each day to say hello...very friendly. There was construction going on...which we were not prepared for but since we were not there most of the day...it was ok...all in all...great stay.
the view from balcony of mountains
being able to walk down to the city and have dinner and then enjoy a walk in the countryside afterwards
Staff was mostly friendly, hotel was small and cowzy, size of the room was comfortable, clean, anonymous with a personal touch.
We liked the place we stayed. Unfortunately the lift we used in the night stopped when we were inside, probably because the light is automatically switching off in the public areas in the night. To do something with the lift.
Difficult to find initially. No smoke detectors or fire protection noted. Good up hill walk from town. Spa pictures not realistic, very small and lack any real function. Hotel sits in a heavily developed area not on an open hill as the pictures show.
The Hotel was ok,The Family owner are very gentle. The parking area was little difficult,I had no problem, but it is little difficult.
A very nice country style hotel with very good breakfast
the staffs are willing to help the hotel is far from the transportation center (30 min by walk) and the town center (15 min by walk); the booking.com's price is higher than other guests check-in & check-out on the same day.
Very Bavarian look to the hotel. It had recently been painted and updated. Beautiful view.
We enjoyed the view. For 12 days we would have liked to be on the mountain side with a sunny balcony. The breakfasts were excellent.
The view of Berchtesgaden from the balcony is spectacular. Everyone can enjoy the same view from the breakfast terrace (if their balcony faces a different way). Excellent breakfast buffet. The walk from the railway station is long and steep and impossible after a day's sightseeing. A taxi ride is required as the bus only runs until 6.15 pm. (Summer season). We didn't mind as the views from the hotel more than made up for it but other guests should be aware.
Location was very good for the views of the mountains and access to the town . The bed was to small for a six foot person.
A pleasant hotel to stay as were staff. The room we stayed in was on the top floor and the ceiling slopped and in was very easy to bang your head. Parking is very limited. If hotel was over half full you would struggle to park anywhere nearby.
Nice family sized room for the three of us and probably could have accomodated another person on the couch. All hotels in Europe were hard to find...this was no exception. One way street.
The rooms were very nice, breakfast was good, with very friendly staff. Being out in the country is nice. We had an exit inside and out to a porch that also gave access to the parking lot. It is a little ways out of main towns and without a GPS it would be fairly difficult to find your way to the hotel. It is definitely worth finding though.
Berghotel Ines is located up the mountainside above Berchtesgaden. We stayed there due to its close proximity to the Eagles Nest and the Salt Mines. Due to the elevation, you are above the mist and fog in the morning, and it was quite beautiful. We got two rooms, one for the adults and one for the kids, although one room would have slept 3 comfortably. The staff speaks English and were good. The breakfast was tasty, but not as many options as we are used to in Germany. Only one type of roll was served, although they also had crackers and a dark bread.
Excellent Hotel! Clean, great breakfast, friendly staff, nice rooms. Comfy beds. Really enjoyed our stay here. Would stay again! A little far out of town, not too bad though, regular buses & the hotel gives you a card to travel on the bus for free. Only 10 mins from train station on the bus. Worth it for the scenery! I`d stay again!
Hotel was in a central location with all tourist sites (need a car to get to all sites); staff very friendly Hotel did not take credit cards only cash
Lovely high mountain location, friendly owner and staff, helpful ideas on places to visit, good wifi/internet.
Good Location and views
nice and warm hostess, beautiful mountain landscape, comfort room too far away from train station of berchtesgaden, have to take the last bus at 18:15 back to the hotel, or take taxi around 15euro
friendly staff, clean place, very quite - nearby restaurants with good quality evening meals need of some investments - should be descriped as 10 min drive from city center! Shame our balcony view went onto the camp site but otherwise ok.
Very nice location, beatiful view at the mountains and valleys. Great little room with clean comfortable beds. The staff was great, with an amzing breakfast. Highly recommended! Everything was super!
The drive to the hotel was amazing and the scenery extremely beautiful. I chose this particular hotel because they claimed to have a sauna and whirlpool. Neither of these were available for use. The bed also squeaked every time I moved which was irritating.
everything was great, will go back next year no problems at all
Beautiful location, great staff, good food. Pools were wonderful. Great place for a family.
nice room, lovely views, fantastic location, friendly and helpful staff Current building works caused some nosise and dust. Although this didn't affect are stay too much - maybe the hotel could have warned us (and possibly offered a small concession - complimentary drink or something)
Extraordinary hotel with amazing views.
