We liked the movie theme. The room had enough space that I could get work done while my kids slept. The motel was conveniently located to highways, stores, and to Lake Champlain. We want to go back when the drive-in theater is opened (we visited too late in the year)
The staff is very friendly, and the rooms were quite clean. They would've been cleaner if there was a screen door or a lobby, but this wasn't a hotel, this was a motel and access to the outside was direct from the room. So, we had to deal with a little Vermont insect life. That said, everything was really quite nice. The room was modern without flaw and very clean considering. The bedding was clean most importantly, and comfortable. The bathroom was immaculate and also functional. We'd stay there again. For the money the 10 minutes drive into town was acceptable, but I found that we had to go back-and-forth quite a bit. That's not the motels fault that's mine. I would've liked to have made one of the drive-in movie shows, because that probably would've made my stay even better and was pretty awesome to have that offered for free to motel guests, but by the time we got back from a concert we were in town for it was really too late and we just went to bed.
Clean, new, efficient, nice rooms, price Bit far from Burlington
Great beds. Blackout shades. Great owner. Close to good food. Great drive-in experience. Very quiet. The door had issues with sticking. Also the cutesy switches for "do not disturb" or "make up room" kept getting bumped. A simple door hanger works better. One day, even after speaking to the cleaning lady about putting additional coffee in the room, they completely skipped our room (maybe due to the electronic "do not disturb" sign? The wife was not happy that we had no clean towels that night...
Friendly staff, brand new rooms, free chocolates.
The room was very modern, clean, and pretty. Staff couldn't have been nicer I wish wifi could've been included
The door locked and had a deadbolt. Close to Burlington. Had to ask for towels. Beds never made. Loud and scary clientele. Ran out of toilet paper.
Easy check in and out. Proximity was great. Room was in good shape. The shower was good. Workers found a new room quickly, near our other room when there was a stale smoke smell. First room smelled of smoke. the key cards to one of the rooms stopped working after a day. Little tripped down but not a surprise with the cost.
Excellent customer service.
The design was modern, the staff was friendly and the location was good There was no breakfast for the price we paid, the room had trash in it when we first arrived, the handle on the door out the side of the building to the parking lot was broken, the drain in the shower didn't drain the water efficiently
I basically only use the hotel to sleep and shower, and perhaps pass some time watching TV. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the TV worked, so all was good in that respect. The staff was courteous and helpful ... I ALWAYS appreciate that. The hotel lacked many amenities that I've come to expect over my years of travel. For a two star hotel, one would expect a simple breakfast. They charge $2.99/day for wifi access (really?!!!... You get free wifi at McD and you don't even need to buy a $1 coffee). There are no ice machines on the upper floors. The towels, although abundant were thin and scratchy (rag pile material a home). Also lacking were: hair blower, iron,'do not disturb' sign for the door, scratch pad and pen, any shampoo, lotion or conditioner, Kleenex tissues, coffee maker, and that notebook I always look for that contains the hotel policies and area food and attractions. As you can see, it was a clean, but "bare bones" hotel.
lower cost noisy, rooms are Spartan like. the basic of basic. Totally non-frill
Great, friendly staff at desk For a non smoking hotel there was an awful lot of "partying" Going on
You get what you pay for. Inexpensive, decent location. Clean rooms. The hallways stank like cigarettes and there was nothing in the rooms at all (no extra pillows or blankets, no toiletries, etc). Also the walls were paper thin so it was noisy.
The hotel is a budget hotel but it is located in an excellent location near malls and restaurants.
Staff Breakfast very limited Bathroom tiny
Great location, friendly staff, great price for expensive town Old. Clean, but old. Room smelled like deodorizer, but the windows open. Shower had adhesive all over the bottom of it. Check in isn't until 4p.
I loved everything about this motel. It was quiet and comfortable. The room was clean. The bed was soft, yet firm; unlike a lot of motels beds that feel like you are laying on concrete. The towels were soft and thick. The grounds were litter free and manicured. The staff was friendly and helpful. If I ever get to Vermont again I will definitely stay in this motel. There was not one thing I disliked about this motel.
friendly helpful staff Air conditioner not able to cool room. Room smelled of cleaning chemicals.
Nice comfortable room for a very fair price, the breakfast was not very good at all, however with the money we saved on the hotel going out to eat at the many fine restaurants in Burlington was just fine
room cleaner did a nice job; hot tub furniture in room sub-par; bathroom extremely small; tub did not drain; pillows uncomfortable
We stayed in Anchorage Inn for only one night. It was clean and stuff was very nice and helpful with anything we needed/asked. We really enjoyed the hot tub and pool, we got all the instructions about pool hours during check-in. You can see that the room need some update, furniture is not new, but everything was clean and we had all we needed for our one night stay. We paid for room with refrigerator and microwave but first we were given a room on the lowest floor with non of those and with lock that didn't work. We went back to the front desk and immediately got another room that was exactly what we paid for, the stuff was very nice. The new room was on 2nd floor and looked much better and newer than the first one. It is sad that first they try to give you the worst option possible and only if you complain you get something better. Even though you specifically paid for the better room.
location/ easy check in/out The coffee was fresh in the morning. The hallway was filthy, my room was a hair cleaner then hallway which is not saying much. Carpets not vacuumed and under the bed awful..candy wrappers, hair etc so my allergies kicked in. Window in room was broken. The shower head dripped constantly. The toilet seat was broken. The refuse can by the soda machine and ice maker was over flowing garbage onto the floor. The cleaning crew was there upon my arrival so I was suprised they didn't take care of this.I asked them to open another room so I could check smokiness. Obviously my original room had smokers in it and it reeked. It seemed that there were people living there long term as they were coming and going with large amounts of groceries etc. I hope they straighten things out because location is good but I will not be staying there any time soon.
GOOD LOCATION CONVENIENT TO CAMPUS AT A GOOD VALUE VERY BASIC. NOT A PLACE TO BRING A DATE AS NO ATMOSPHERE. MOTEL 6ish.
Nothing, because I never went. I thought I had made a reservation for Saturday night; on Friday night the motel called and asked if I was going to keep my reservation! I looked, and sure enough, according to the computer receipt I was supposed to be there on Friday night. I needed Saturday night because I had to be in Vergennes, 20 miles away (but 70 miles from my home) at 8 am on Sunday. The motel refused to return my $153 or change the reservation to Saturday, and Expedia couldn't persuade them. So in the end I had to get up at 5 am on Sunday and drive the first thirty miles in darkness and fog; my net earnings for the day, after deducting the cost of gas and a motel room I didn't use, was $40. The first error was with the reservation system, but I deeply resent the refusal of North Star to be even slightly flexible.
