Braga Hotels

The location was great although finding the hotel proved challenging. The triple room was very spacious and clean. The staff, especially at the front desk were very friendly.

We booked this spa hotel in anticipation of enjoying a massage after finishing the Camino de Santiago. We made appointments for the evening we arrived but then discovered that there was no one available to provide a massage that evening. The spa desk then suggested we use the Jacuzzi instead. Unfortunately after purchasing swim caps we discovered the Jacuzzi wasn't working. A big disappointment to say the least. Fortunately the hotel refunded the cost of the swim caps. Really would have liked a massage though.

Besides location and adjacent, associated restaurant (would that all four- and even five-star Portuguese hotels had the like!) we found the staff extraordinarily welcoming and helpful, and the location wonderful. The free wifi was string and steady.

We didn't like--nothing, unless a slow drain:fixed. Breakfast, though very good, might be beaten. On the other hand, lightly chicoried coffee was stimulating, sausages and bacon best we had in Portugal (after multiple-day stays in Lisbon and Porto).

After passing through an unprepossessing exterior on Avenida Central, one finds it's interior to be modern on a venerable frame, where rooms--at least on the 3rd/top floor where we were happy to stay--have unusual shape and character. There's a prompt elevator, yet we were happy to climb up and down most times on the interior stairs. Nice 'satellite' public space on each floor's landing.
